I eat here maybe once a month. it's certainly not the best Italian food ever, but it's a solid value. decent prices, decent wine list, friendly bartenders, and food is pretty good. Italian nachos are an interesting take on fusion, they use fried pasta chips. the chicken jalapeño ravioli is not to be missed. entrees come with either unlimited soup or salad. go for the Italian chili if getting soup. they have a house vinaigrette which is pretty yummy and the Caesar is nicely dressed as well. the pizza is just ok, but wasn't expecting the moon for it, and it's affordable. you can create your own, or go with the classic margarita, note though the margarita has a red sauce as opposed to olive oil. you can request oil and garlic though. another tip-- three meatballs ala carte for $3. definitely a great value there. all in all, a pretty pleasant experience.

Very pleased with my first Johnny Carinos experience. Ordered the Italian style ribs with fries and they were not only cooked perfectly but they tasted like nothing I've had before, delicious. They were Parmesan encrusted and the fries were very tasty. Pricing wasn't too bad and unlimited salads with my entree was a great touch. Only thing I wish they had was cannolis, how can an Italian restaurant not have them in the dessert menu? Would return again without second thought

I used to work at a Johnny C's when I was in high school. I haven't lived anywhere near one since, so whenever I see one, I like to stop and revisit the good times of stuffing myself silly on free bread and surprisingly good chain Italian food. However, the Roger's location is the most disappointing one I've ever visited. My martini was undrinkable. The Cesar salad was hosed in dressing, and the waitress wasn't very friendly. Thankfully, the eggplant parmesan was really yummy and the dessert was good. I suggest ordering wine and asking for the dressing on the side if you choose this location for an inexpensive date.

Have eaten here twice (since it's close to the hotel), once on date night with the wife and once dinner with the kids. Both experiences were great, in terms of food and service. Between all of our dinners I sampled the lasagna, chicken marsala, and Italian-style ribs. Everything was delicious. It was also very quiet both times, even considering the place was fairly full the second time.

Very nice atmosphere, attentive waitstaff and the food was very good! Desserts were yummy as well. Large portion sizes! Definitely plan on bringing home extras. Even though they were pretty crowded, the wait wasn't too bad! Overall very good solid restaurant . I wanted to give 4 1/2 stars but it won't let me.

What does it mean when a restaurant is in rotation? We went in at 1:20 PM to have lunch and the hostess said they were in rotation. Not my problem and I don't know what that means, anyway. We ordered lunch, appetizers and salads. The mushrooms are still good and I would recommend those. But I ordered a chicken dish and the sauce tasted burnt and the chicken was rubbery. My husband doesn't like to make a fuss in restaurants, and the wait person didn't ask how my food wise, he just wanted to know if I wanted a box which I didn't. The ladies room was filthy it needed serious attention. I know it's a chain, but they do have a lot of competition in this area. Good luck.

I was in Rogers for a business trip and ordered to go from here. I was extremely disappointed when I got back to my hotel. My lobster ravioli was bland and the calamari was cold and soggy. I am definitely never coming back to this location.

This place is absolutely delicious. If you like Italian food, this is your place. Delicious!!!! The bread they start you off with is delish!! Ask for Parmesan on too of the oil and vinegar! Omg. Pretty amazing. Everything on the menu is A++ I'm not a fan of fish unless Im a couple hours from the sea. But that's just me. The service is always pretty good. They could step the class up a little bit. But for the most part friendly. Wine selection isn't terrible. But they have good prices on theyr wines. I love the food here. Always stop by when I'm in town.

VERY disappointed! Used to love this place. Seems to have gone downhill though. Bartender was very loud. Dropped (crashed) things onto the floor twice without even blinking an eye. Loud enough to cause the room to jump! For an Italian Restaurant, you would think their Signature beer (Peroni) would naturally be available. It wasn't. And then, after substituting that with a glass of wine instead, was not told that it was not included in the Happy Hour pricing scheme. The bread basket? Apparently, if you want one, you'll have to ask for it. My impression of this place has dropped more than a few notches. Will probably stop frequenting this establishment. There are other Italian eateries nearby with much better service.

Wish I could give this restaurant more than three stars because our service has always been quite good. The food is not bad, it just isn't remarkable in any way. It has a very noisy kitchen so I would recommend requesting a table closer to the front.

I am not an Italian food fan but after 40 years of marriage I've learned if the wife wants Italian I eat Italian. I ordered the Skilletini Combo even though I thought it was over priced for a spaghetti dish. Before I was finished I realized why they charge $13.49, it's because it's worth it. It is spaghetti with chicken and sausage, marinara sauce, onions and green bell peppers served in a hot skillet. It reminded me of the Italian version of Mexican Fajitas. It is so much more than a spaghetti dish. My wife had the Shrimp Scampi which is her favorite and seemed pleased. The fresh bread served along with the food is excellent. The restaurant is very clean and service was very good. I was also impressed with the open kitchen so you can see how clean it is and they are actually cooking and not throwing frozen dinners in a microwave oven. Down side of that is when they drop a pan you will know it. My wife is tickled because she knows I'll be going back for more Skilletini Combo which means she will get to eat Shrimp Scampi more often.

I had the worst dining experience I've ever had at this place today. If you go, and you get a waitress named "Kat," do yourself a favor and immediately leave! I ordered the soup and salad lunch combo and it took 10 minutes to get my food! I mean, how long does it take to pour some pre-cooked soup into a bowl and bring it to the table?! At no time did Kat ever come back to ask how my meal was or if I needed anything. I never got a drink refill, and it literally took 35 MINUTES to pay my bill! Someone else dropped the bill off at my table 10 minutes or so after I finished eating, and then it took Kat an additional 25 minutes to find the necessary change for the $20 bill I gave her. She gave me some line about how there was no change in any of the registers and she had to run all over the building to find any change. How does a restaurant operate when there is no change in the registers?! It took 35 minutes to pay - that's not an exaggeration - I literally timed it on my watch. I finished eating at 1:35 and I left the restaurant at 2:10! There are far better Italian restaurants in North West Arkansas. Unless you plan on spending all afternoon and eating a mediocre meal, do yourself a favor and skip this place!

When I'm traveling in this area I stop here for a change from the BBQ and steak in the area. Food is good, not great but normally not a bad meal. Normally I sit at the bar because I'm by myself and service can be hit and miss. Very safe place to have some good Italian food.

This meal was a dreadful experience from beginning to end. I started off with a house salad. The lettuce was discolored and one piece was downright rotten. I complained and sent it back. The manager came over and said something about the lettuce being "burned." I never did figure out if he was joking or just not very bright. Then our meal arrived. I ordered the baked cheese tortellini. It had clearly been over-microwaved and the tortellini around the edges of the plate were a little hard. The sauce was supposed to have ground beef in it, but I only found one minuscule piece of meat. My friend said this is usually a very good meal at other locations of this chain, but that it didn't even taste the same here. My husband had a steak which he ordered medium. It did not have a good sear and was completely rare on the inside. He sent it back and when the steak was brought back, it was well done. Basically, everything was awful. And to top it all off, they still charged me for the rotten salad. We will not be going back.

This place has gotten worse over the years. The menu keeps getting smaller and the service is getting worse. The only thing that keeps me going back (and that's maybe twice a year) is the Italian nachos and the yummy bread and dipping oil. For the price of a full meal there, we could eat at Olive Garden AND go watch a movie.

I like Johnny's, Carrabba's in Rogers would be my first choice for Italian but it is not open for lunch. The bread is tasty, the add a salad to your meal is a good portion. I usually always order the Jalapeno Garlic Tilapia. It is a fillet of tilapia pan-sauted with fresh garlic, roma tomatoes, diced jalapenos and spinach in a lemon butter cream sauce over a bed of angel hair pasta. Very tasty and a little hot if you like jalapenos. If not, ask for them on the side and only add a few. Another favorite is the Bowtie Festival which used to be a "special" and now added to the permanent menu. I would also recommend the Italian nachos. Crispy pasta chips baked with ground Italian sausage and/or sliced grilled chicken, pepperoncini peppers, black olives, roma tomatoes and jalapenos. Topped with creamy alfredo sauce, melted mozzarella and parmesan cheese. It is a large portion so be prepared to share with several or simply eat that as your meal, maybe adding a salad. I always ask for extra alfredo.

We had lunch here yesterday. At 12:05, the parking lot was packed, and we were afraid that there would be a long wait for a table. Fortunately, that wasn't the case. I ordered an Italian Creme Soda, vanilla flavor, which was excellent. My mate ordered lemonade, and wasn't impressed, it tasted very watered down. I ordered the angel hair pasta with artichokes, which proved to be a lovely, light dish. My mate had the eggplant Parmesan which he declared was equally delicious. I have to admit, my favorite part of the whole meal was the bread, hot, fresh, and oh so yummy. The service was efficient and fast. The only complaint that I have was about the tomato balsamic vinaigrette I had on my salad. I'm a balsamic vinegar addict, this dressing had no balsamic flavor that I could detect, a real disappointment. Never the less, we'll be back.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
