This was the first restaurant I tried in Fayetteville and still one of my favorites! The wine selection is pretty good. Everything is done WELL and classy. This is very key in simple dishes. They nail it every time! I really enjoy the atmosphere and history of the building as well. A great place for a quiet take your time dining experience, a date, or business lunch.

We had a delicious breakfast with great service. The skillet was chock full of sauteed veggies, two fried eggs and potatoes. A standard two egg breakfast had thick cut pepper bacon and they gladly substituted shredded hash browns for the home fries. Service was extremely friendly and they gave us to go cups for our water as we were heading out for a hike.

I really enjoy going to Lambeth Lounge. The bar manager, Jesse, is a master of his craft. All drinks are perfectly made with fresh ingredients. The lighting is perfect, and the setting is both inviting and intimate. I don't often eat there, but what I've had was really good.

I took my parents here for Easter brunch. The atmosphere was great and they appropriately sat us in the room with all the big families, so when my kids were a little loud nobody cared. The food was good, buffet with some breakfast items, salad, an omelet station, a small carving station and a small selection of desserts. It was pricy but that is to be expected given that it was a holiday. The antique Inn that houses Ella's is worth checking out. I hope to come here again for a date night to see what the more traditional experience is like.

My husband and I ate here last weekend for breakfast. We did not dine in the restaurant, but we did room service, so that is what my review will be on. WAIT: We ordered over the phone, obviously haha, and they brought up our food in a timely manner. Within 30 minutes I would say. Probably less time. I would be weirded it out if they brought our food right away because that makes me think it is not fresh, so I was very happy with the time it took for our food to get to our room. CUSTOMER SERVICE: The person over the phone and the man who brought our food were both very friendly and professional. The food was also displayed very nice. FOOD: Now on to the good stuff. I ordered the Stuffed French Toast (ciabatta loaf caramelized in cinnamon sugar served with mascarpone cream, fresh strawberries and thick sliced peppered bacon). It was delicious! My husband ordered the Blueberry Pancakes (two buttermilk pancakes loaded with blueberries and topped with powdered sugar with scrambled eggs and peppered bacon). He loved it as well. He also had hashbrowns. The French toast was delicious, but very rich. I was not able to finish it all. The bacon I was definitely able to finish haha, so good. Overall, a great place. I will have to try it in the restaurant.

Excellent brunch menu on weekends. Quiet, elegant atmosphere. We will for sure be back. The stuffed French toast with mascarpone cream and strawberries was quite a treat for this girl...who never eats bread! The service was attentive but never bothersome. Very professional. Another highlight was sitting near four star recruits for the razorback football team! If the school is bringing recruits and their families here, it is to impress!

Overall, Ella's is a wonderful, fine dining restaurant in a quaint old building on U of A's campus. Ate here for dinner (have not had brunch yet, but I intend to) and it was wonderful! Ella's probably has the best service I have experienced in Fayetteville. Our waiter was attentive, yet unobtrusive, knowledgeable, yet not snobby, and greatly added to the overall ambiance of the meal. The food at Ella's was the real star. From the wonderful, crab forward (instead of heavily breaded) crab cake, to one of the better pork chops I have ever had, the food was tasty, and thoughtfully prepared! Bottom line: I would recommend Ella's to anyone and I intend to go back there, soon!

Ella's is the new Sunday Brunch regular. Perfect size, classy setting, and exceptional service.

This is probably the nicest way to put my opinion on the food I had at Ella's: Overpriced cruise ship food. I ordered a Ribeye medium rare, and what I got didn't have any pink in it whatsoever. The salad and desert were okay, but I could probably have found more flavor at an Olive Garden. Service was adequate.

  • George S.

Wanted to give this place a 2 for the food being average and the price being on the high end but elevated that to a 3 based on the brunch. Especially the Mother's Day and Easter brunch. Make sure you get a table in the main dining hall otherwise your at a cheap rental table with uncomfortable chairs in a side room. Staff is friendly and its a romantic spot when you are staying at the Inn.

I came here for the 1st time on a Friday night date & had a truly delicious meal. Ella's is more fine dining, and you should go here if seeking an upscale, exclusive environment with attentive service. I was a bit skeptical at 1st, as the dining room only had one other patron & felt very stuffy. But I quickly relaxed, as I settled into the comfy upholstered club chair & started sipping on my malbec. I ordered the shrimp & grits (minus the shrimp since I'm allergic) as an appetizer. Did not disappoint, as they were creamy & laced with Gouda cheese... Yum! I scraped the bowl. For the main, I had the pork chop with bacon wrapped brussel sprouts & sweet potatoes. Absolutely delicious. And the dessert menu was sinful... The offerings sounded so amazing that it was the hardest decision of the night. I finally settled on the white chocolate bread pudding & was not disappointed. Homemade & melt in your mouth! I would return just to try each of the desserts. And our waiter Ben was fantastic. Great recos, attentive service, & even took a bit off our check since my date just mentioned that his fish entree was too spicy for his liking. Overall, amazing dining experience! As for the comments on the prices, I think they were justified for the type of restaurant & experience. This was not Applebee's. Entrees were Btwn $15 - $35. Wine, desserts seemed to be normal prices. I would recommend Ella's for a special occasion, or an intimate dining experience/ date night, or if you're just an elitist snob who likes to feel better than everyone else... LOL!

It's Sunday afternoon and I'm rolling into town after a 12-round match w/ my liver that ended with me all pale and battered and craving a some eggs and a Bloody Mary. After throwing away countless hard-earned dollars gambling and over-paying for booze and an Indian casino I needed satisfying, yet not wallet-killing brunch. Fayetteville has a few other option but most of them would have involved me waiting outside for a table, trying not to vomit. Thankfully I remembered I could forgo the other local and more widely heralded brunch spots and land at my personal brunch mecca. For me brunch always includes some sort of bread soaked in syrup or hollandaise, some salty fried meat product, and an alcoholic beverage. Ella's did not disappoint. The Crab Cake Benedict was fantastic. My eggs were perfectly poached and resting on a very crabby crab cake. No joke, this is probably the most crabby crab cake in town. It was fried beautifully brown and blanketed in a silky golden hollandaise that was so good I almost forgot I was hungover. Also ordered an Avocado and chorizo omelet that came with some browned and crispy hash browns, and pan heated tortillas. I'm sure most people would scoop use the tortilla to scoop a little of the melty cheese and chorizo mixture that overflowed from the omelet but not me. I took my fork to the omelet like I was Leatherface with a chainsaw and I made the most bitchin' breakfast taco I could fit in my mouth. I also chugged down two Bloody Mary's that seemed larger than normal and generous with flavor (and booze!). At one point while I was slurping at my straw with such enthusiasm that our server noticed and offered to order my another. It came out even more quickly than our first round. Thumbs up for observing my desperation. Here's my bottom line: Ella's is my under-the-radar best of brunch in Fayetteville. Fair prices, great food. I judge brunch on booze and eggs. The eggs are poached perfectly every time. Out of 4 visits where I purchased Eggs Ben, I have always had a right cooked egg. (other spots in town fail miserably on the consistently well-poached egg scale) Thanks to Ella's for feeding my hangover and helping me with a great Sunday afternoon nap!

This update pertains to the Indian buffet, which I finally tried for the first time a few weeks ago. Everything they had was pretty good, and for the price well worth it. Not EXACTLY what you'd find in an authentic Indian joint (or at least Indian restaurants I've been to in other parts of the country, including Little India in NYC), but well crafted, quality ingredients. Nice take on naan bread by grilling it. Good overall flavor/spiciness profile, and a good deal. I will definitely come back. I don't think you'll find any better Indian food in the area.

Meal and service were both excellent. Friends who live in the area invited us to join them for Sunday brunch, and I am so happy that they did. The building was built as a women's dorm on the U of A campus in 1905. It is really an excellent dining experience! We will definitely go back for dinner when visiting our friends in Fayetteville!

Once you get past the excessive "stuffiness" of the place, you discover a delicious restaurant. We were there for Sunday Brunch. A very creative mexican twist on eggs Benedict was to die for. My wife had a very tasty deconstructed ceasars salad. The room, which is rather small, was about half filled with older ladies having brunch and parents meeting their college age kids for a meal. The preppy dress added to the snooty atmosphere but as the morning progressed several students in more comfortable attire meandered in. The stuffiness could be greatly improved by changing or training the hostess because the rest of the staff was very charming. Solve this and the four stars go to five and perhaps a half filled room goes to full.

Had brunch here on Sunday with friends. First of all it's a walk down memory lane being in the old Carnall Hall. It has been beautifully restored back to its grand elegance. The restaurant is beautiful and very inviting. The food was outstanding. We live in Dallas and were leaving town right after we finished brunch. Really sad we couldn't stay longer so we could check out dinner. On our list for next time.

Decided to stop in on a trip to Fayetteville during the workday. There were only a few cars there so we were not sure if they were open for lunch. You have to loved the old building of the Inn of Carnal Hall. Ella's provides a nice dining experience with upholstered chairs to sit in and linen tablecloths and napkins. My friend and I decided on the prime rib sandwich. It was sliced thin on a baguette with sauteed onions and mushrooms and a side of horseradish plus some hand cut fries (my friend got the hand made potato chips. All was good, no real complaints but pricey in my opinion. We were almost the only ones in there so it was very distracting that the hostess (I presume with the short black dress on) prepared for dinner service and was clanging around glasses, plates and silverware on all the tables around us. I could also do without the elevator opera playing over the squawky speaker system. When it came to dessert, we perused the menu and it all sounded divine and while it was all homemade, it was way too rich to follow up the meal we just had. We opted for freshly made strawberry mint sorbet and a fresh fig gelato Both were very good. Who ever heard of fig gelato? It tasted like a fresh fig. Delish! I am sure dinner service is quite nice with the ambiance and the food does seem just fine.

Came here for breakfast recently based on the reviews I saw. Unfortunately, it fell far short of expectations. We shared a skillet and french toast. The french toast was fine--nothing to write home about but nothing bad. However, the skillet was pretty low quality. It was extremely greasy (there was probably a quarter of an inch of grease in the bottom of the skillet), it was quite small (about half full for what is already a small skillet), and just "meh" overall. Maybe there are some other stars on the menu, but I would avoid the skillet at all costs.

Everything we ordered was cooked perfectly and absolutely delicious. Shrimp and grits divine. Pork chops and ribeye were amazing. You must eat here. The prices are a little high, but you get what you pay for - its worth it.

We had brunch here today after church. The Problems with this place are the lack of an air conditioner anywhere in sight, and hard to make reservations or get a hold of anyone authorized to do so. And finally, they served me my first "Undrinkable" Bloody Mary ever. So much chopped garlic in the drink that it is hard to drink through a straw. If you Love, and I mean LOVE garlic, then order two of these Bloody's. If you are like everyone else, ORDER A MIMOSA!!!(or anything other than a bloody mary) The service was very professional, but a little slow. The ambiance is perfect for Brunch. A very classic decor, and nice light and settings. I went back and fourth from 3-4 stars many times, because of all the things I just went over. All and all however, the food(execution/presentation/portions) were amazing. I had the Royal Eggs Benedict (Eggs Benedict + Delicious Crab Cakes). Perfectly executed all the way down to the subtle Hollandaise. I also split the BlueBerry PanCakes with my Wife, they were delicious as well, and obviously homemade. There were 7 of us and everyone at the table was very happy with the food quality. I don't worry about the price for good food, but for those of you that do, entrees were ranging from 6-16 dollars, and al la carte was 2 dollars. I would recommend this place for anyone who wants to enjoy a lazy Sunday on one of the most beautiful College Campuses in the U.S. Great Food/Atmosphere

had the Sunday brunch there (one page brunch menu) the girl at the door had a really slender figure however that might be reflected in her greeting the customers (lack of energy and warmth); anyway she immediately found us a nice table though, maybe just a bad day or PMS who knows :-) good atmosphere with nice oil paintings hanging on the wall, cozy, the waitress was superb, i had an almost unreasonable request, she still complied with no hesitation(basically in a hurry so let her try to get the dishes out asap, kinda embarrassed since lots of people were all waiting for food) food was good and delicious, the skillet was warm and nice; very nice Christmas decoration, lots of wonderful picture to look at around the place since this used to be a girls only dormitory; very niiiice place trust me

  • Tiger S.

The food is really bland and has poor quality ingredients. The menu looks appealing but the flavors are all dumbed down to suit the pallets of old folks. The eggs are lifeless in that way that only factory farmed eggs can taste. The smoked salmon tastes like slimy jelly and is that scary shade of hot pink found only in low-grade, antibiotic-rich, "Atlantic" farmed fish. The potatoes taste fresh from the freezer and the yogurt sauce that accompanies the "fresh" fruit is straight out of the yoplait container in all it's high fructose corn syrup and artificial coloring glory. Overall, it's the best tasting food that can be genetically engineered and extruded out of the factory farms of big agriculture in America. If you like flavor and texture in your brunch, skip this place.

Excellent Indian buffet. Most of the options are vegetarian. My favorite dishes were the fried chickpeas and corn, the naan, and the kheer (rice pudding). So delicious. It's pretty pricey but worth it for a special occasion. Too bad their regular menu isn't as appealing!

About Taco Bell

Taco Bell is a haven for Mexican delicacies such as tacos, quesadillas, burritos, nachos, and other specialty items. Owned by Yum! Brands, Inc. Taco Bell is one of the fastest growing American chains of fast food restaurants. The restaurant operates from 7,072 different locations which are mostly run by independent franchisees and licensees.

The background story of Taco Bell is interesting and inspiring for budding entrepreneurs. The fast-food brand is the brainchild of Glen Bell, who started his first food venture as a hot dog seller in San Bernardino, California. The year was 1948. After witnessing long queues outside a Mexican restaurant called Mitla Café across the street, Bell saw the opportunity and demand for hard-shelled Tacos. He reverse-engineered the recipe and later started selling Tacos and called the venture Taco-Tia.

Later, the name changed from Taco-Tia to El Taco. Eventually, Glen Bell sold the company to his partner and opened the first Taco Bell in Downey in 1962. By 1964, the restaurant also got its first franchise in Torrance. The 100th Taco Bell restaurant was opened by 1965. PepsiCo acquired Taco Bell from Glen Bell in 1978 and the restaurant brand is currently a subsidiary of Yum! Brands which looks after the restaurant business of PepsiCo.
