While visiting Maumelle, the family and I decided to try out Dickey's BBQ Pit. Being as we lived in Maumelle for many years, with limited food options, we were interested to give this restaurant a try. Upon first entering, I was somewhat surprised by the prices ($10-$13 for most meals.) That's not outrageous; however, you can visit Whole Hog (which has won a gazillion awards) and pay much less. I guess Dickey's big allure is that they offer daily specials. As for Sunday, kids eat free. We have a baby who has only been eating solids for a few months - but free is free, and always welcome. The employees here are fantastic! All were friendly and helpful. They complimented and played with our (admittedly) cute baby, offered samples and suggestions, and most importantly, had genuine smiles on their faces. The chicken was delicious! I'm not typically a big fan of bbq chicken (I usually go for the pork), but this was exceptionally good. I also enjoyed the baked beans and baked potato casserole. My husband and baby seemed to enjoy theirs, also. Dickey's is a nice addition to Maumelle.

WINNER! As far as chains go, this is the real deal! Some of the most tender and flavorful smoked pulled pork, and sausage link I have had. Sauce (sweet, original, and spicy available) is excellent, and unlimited, you just have to go to the bar to get it. Huge cups for good iced tea. Service was friendly and helpful! I'll definitely bring the family back.

Quick service, which helps with kids. Sunday kids eat free. My favorite is the beef brisket meat.

What a cheerful staff and very round menu. I ordered beef brisket 1 meat plate, that is 8 oz of meat with 2 sides, roll and pickle & onion. I don't usually eat potato salad but this was creamy and delicious. a bit of yummy pepper on the finish. The beef was very well cooked, got some slices and pieces with a healthy dose of crunch and just enough fast. 3 bbq sauce choices you serve yourself. The side roll was HEAVEN! Again, I don't eat much bread but these are wonderful! All the meats come dry (you add your own sauce if you like) Perfect iced tea and reasonable prices. Ribs are St Louis style. They also offer a quarter plate that is 4 oz meat. looking forward to trying other menu items! Give it a go!
