We were craving some Mexican food and happened upon this restaurant on the square. Wasn't sure about it from the outside appearance but it was delicious and an experience that will be remembered. Would definitely return!

I've eaten tacos all over the world and these were the best I've ever eaten. The lady who owns it is super nice. We got there just after closing time and she opened it up for us.... Awesome....

I do not know how to even start this review.... My husband and I stumbled upon this gem after hiking near Ponca on our drive back to Eureka Springs. It is honestly one of the best meals I've ever had. The owner has some attitude....which was great! She was sassy and sarcastic, but she never made us feel unwelcome or uncomfortable, just like we were part of her family. The food was a home run. The pupusas are the best I've ever had. The prices are dirt cheap for the amount if fresh cooked to order food you get. Try this place! It's perfect!

Love love love this place! We pass through this town once or twice a year making sure to come hungry and around lunch time. It's always the same ladies cooking everything in front of you so the quality always seems consistent. The owner is very loud and a little "mandona" bossy in English, but charming at the same time. You should come for the food, and stay for the show.

Discovered this great restaurant last night and was introduced to pupusas. I will forever be a fan and plan to go back soon. My new favorite place!

The food at this little lunch counter is amazing! Stopped in here on a whim and the strength of the reviews. Though there weren't very many, and I assumed they were all written by friends of the owner, the reviews were spot on. I have never had Pupusas before, but they are delicious! My husband and I tried several of them and liked the squash best. Dress them with the slaw and the salsa and you won't be sorry. The owner/cook is definitely high spirited, so beware but don't be afraid.

One word: PUPUSAS! The Squash Pupusa was seriously the best pupusa of my life...and I've had many of them. An true oasis in the desert of mediocre food.

Pupusas in Northwest Arkansas? Buckle up, my sweets, because this establishment will take you on one heck of a journey. We stumbled upon La Luna on a lazy Sunday. The unpretentious and authentic vibe beckoned us from the square, so we popped in for a late 2nd lunch of ice cold Coca-Colas and Calabaza (squash) Pupusas, thick corn flatbreads stuffed with cheese and other fillings, lightly sautéed in oil on a stovetop until gooey. Made in front of you in an open kitchen, these pupusas are worth the 10 minute wait - piping hot, cheesy, crisp, flavorful, simple - topped off with delicious homemade chips, rice and beans & spicy slaw, this meal is a steal at a mere $4. Yes, you read correctly -$4. And all that comes with a free side of sass, from the head cook, a lovely hispanic señora with vigor and heirloom pupusa know-how. If you're in the Eureka area, make the 15 minute jaunt to Berryville for a special treat - you won't be disappointed.

La Luna has delicious pupusas! I tried the squash and chicken varieties, and while both were delicious I preferred the squash. My boyfriend had a veggie burrito and it looked huge and yummy; he loved it. This place is tiny, with counter space to eat (unless very busy). We were the only diners and service was slightly slow, not a problem since they make everything fresh, but possibly something to consider if you're in a rush. It's got the authentic, unpretentious taqueria vibe, and the staff was colorful and slightly rude but in an almost-charming kind of way. It's definitely the antithesis of a Tex Mex chain, which is refreshing. They were out of horchata on our visit but encouraged us to sample the hibiscus and tamarind drinks.

The best tacos, pupusas, and burritos. The al pastor tacos and chicken tacos are some of my favorites. And the squash pupusa is delicious!

Guatemalan NOT Mexican, and very, very, very good. Small counter space for about 6 people where you watch every move of the food being prepared by the friendly and personable, wonderful lady chef. The squash pupusas are to die for, but everything I've ever eaten at La Luna has been excellent and delicious. and I stop there every time I pass through Berryville, if I possibly can. Good chips, great beans and spicy, tasty salsa. There is also a small dining room in a separate entrance which seats maybe 15 or 20. Great food cheap. This is authentic Guatemalan food from the heart.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
