Everytime I come thru Birmingham, I make it my business to to stop by to see my sis and get good BBQ, if I have the time. I'm a truck driver, so it's not always that easy. But the food is great, and service is wonderful!

Man, it took me 3 years to finally catch this place open and stocked with ribs. After all the hype, I was all set to have some mouthwatering goodness. Yuck. Another poster commented about a greasy taste - yes. Grease or freezer burn or a mix of the two - ribs were just yuck. Tender, yes; tasty, no. Sauce was good but boring, KC masterpiece-ish. Fried okra was good; southeastern meats does a heckuva job and we can get those at the gro sto. Baked beans were good with a little kick - probably the best thing we had. Glad I checked this off my list. Must have been totally different food to win that best ribs award OR the judge was totally nuts. Williams Grocery in Arley sells better ribs!!

Five stars. Everything was awesome. We had the chopped combo plate because they had sold out of ribs. The potato salad was excellent. Homemade desserts were also top notch. Looks like a dive, eats like a real southern family cookout. Get you some, son.

Some of the best BBQ I've had in Bham and very affordable. Ribs were tender but not too tender (not mushy) and the grilled BBQ corn was really tasty. Heavenly pie was rich and delicious. Worth the drive.

It was okay...the smoked white chicken tasted & was greasy like they dropped in grease before it was served. The workers & owners were taking up 2 booths so that left 2 large tables available in the front area which is all that was open. Our server had to clear our table off of junk that was piled on it. There did not seem to be any organization there & it showed from the register area where there was stuff piled up. The cook came out & she appeared to be in a foul mood & was complaining about her job. I don't think I will be back for awhile.

About 5 min off 65 and is more than worth it. It's a small place - which should be a sign of how awesome it is. The sauce is so good - but everything we had was too. The chicken is super good and my husband said the ribs were phenomenal. We had the pleasure of watching the Alabama game in there which made it even more fun. DO NOT pass this place by!

Friendly staffs, free ribs & fried corn while you wait( we ordered a big family meal). If you are getting the ribs get them with the BBQ sauce. Easily rank in my top 3 BBQ. Desserts were very tasty as well, pineapple pudding & heavenly pie would make you want second. Which I got .

I love Big Daddy's. The service is always good. They are friendly. Sometimes Big Daddy his self will come to your table for a visit. And the food... My Lord the food is real, real good. It's the best kind of Home cookin. And they don't skimp. They bring you a plate full of food. The ribs are big and flavorful. The sauce is a mouth explosion of goodness. Sop that sauce with your white bread. And I could eat their greens and field peas every day... And ribs too. If you haven't been to Big Daddy' you owe it to yourself to try it. If you haven't been in a while, make plans now. And don't forget to get a big old slice of Heavenly Pie!

We stopped at Big Daddy's on the way back to Chicago from Florida - wow was it great! Big Daddy and everyone else in the restaurant were so friendly and the BBQ was amazing. As soon as we sat down there were complimentary rib tips and corn. Yum! We ordered the chopped chicken sandwich, the pork sandwich and the ribs. Everything was delicious and the ribs were some of the best I've ever had. It's a few minutes off the expressway, but definitely worth the stop!

Awesome barbecue. Didn't think ribs were best in town but we're very good. Definitely needs to upgrade establishment to fit more people. Also advertising wouldn't hurt.

Truly a unique experience. We arrived at the beginning of lunch after exiting the interstate and driving through the pretty town of Warrior. This little restaurant is on the main drag and in the middle of town. We were the first customers to warm a seat today. I ordered the 1/4 chicken and ribs mainly because of the reviews on Yelp and I didn't smell smoke. That doesn't mean much, they may have smoked the meat yesterday but I was concerned. Well that was a mistake. The chicken was so over cooked and the ribs seemed cooked in an oven. They were both covered in a bbq sauce that was similar to what you get from a bottle. The collard greens tasted like they were burned in the pot and the pork in the greens was dry and burnt. The potato salad seemed like a pre made version of southern style and was probably the best thing on the plate with the corn muffin coming in a close second. I had second thoughts when I didn't smell smoke at a bbq restaurant I should have gone with my gut. If I could offer one thought to the owners that would be to love what you do! Always be proud of what you serve and you will always succeed, when you don't feel good about what you're serving... Go with your gut!

I had to update my review to add the chicken to my list. The BBQ chicken here is the best I've ever had. I sometimes don't care for BBQ chicken because it gets so dried out. Theirs has a strong smoke flavor without being dry. It's obviously well marinated and you can taste it in the final product. If you don't like a well smoked chicken then you probably wouldn't like theirs. It comes cubed and has a little skin left on it giving it plenty of flavor. We got some pork, chicken, and ribs for July 4th. The ribs were delicious. They were super tender and full of smokey flavor. It's amazing the quality we received even when placing a last minute to-go order on one of their busiest days of the year. I let my little lap dog nibble a leftover rib bone and I thought she was going to wag herself right off the couch she was so excited to be enjoying something so delicious! The reason it's on my Top 100 things to Try list: BBQ Chicken Ribs List: The BEST BBQ chicken and ribs I've ever had.

Big Daddy's has excellent barbecue. They had a fire but have reopened and still serve great ribs and pork sandwiches. The dine-in area has been remodeled and is nicer that it was before the fire. This place is worth the drive. Be prepared to wait for a table due to their popularity.

This is the latest rage barbecue joint in the area. The barbecued ribs are really good. Peppery with a zesty sauce that isn't too sweet. The owner's daughter makes homemade desserts that are very good as well. They have added sit-down service recently, so you don't have to order for take out. They don't have a tremendous number of tables, but we ate there on a Friday night and had no trouble getting seating. Don't expect any ambiance, but do expect some really good Southern food!
