The owners are terrible people and very rude to anyone who they feel is inferior or "second class". The wait staff isn't much better. The food itself is mediocre at best.. It all tastes frozen and prepackaged (because most of it is). Don't waste your time or money eating here; there are better restaurants in the area.

My family had lunch for 6 for a birthday last Saturday. The lunch-sized steaks are so thin, it's really hard to get them less than well-done. One was perfect, two were pretty close, but two were really over-cooked. The one we sent back came back after we'd all finished and it was raw inside. They took it off the bill. The salad bar is standard, with an iceberg lettuce base. But the ranch dressing ruined it. Although we were told it was homemade, it was watery and lumpy. No bleu cheese dressing. The gourmet onion rings seemed to be the regular defrosted variety. Baked potatoes, especially at a place called a Steak House, need real butter. Buttery spread was not tasty. The birthday brownie was a nice touch, but someone put the candle in it while it was hot and there was melted wax in the middle.

Service is mediocre, at best, which is why I didn't give 4 stars. The food is excellent and have enjoyed the dining here both times. Not fond of the so called one-trip salad bar, which you have little room to build a salad that you want along with the extras. It has great potential if they'd fix the service issues.

On both occasions, I experienced poor service. Granted the first night, two servers had a death in the family but I and a group of friends decided to give the place another chance. First off, the hostess tried to seat our party of three at a table that was so small it was only good for maybe one and a half and it was directly in the path of servers and customers. We asked to be seated on the other side where there were clearly several nice booths and larger tables available. The hostess, who never smiled and made us feel like we weren't even welcome there, mumbled something like the other tables were for someone else but still put us in one. The whole time we were there, the nicer tables stayed empty. So what was the problem? Nevertheless I feel like I was not wanted there. Next our steaks were not cooked right. Our server didn't return to ask how our food was or to refill our drinks and the manager walked by several times and noticed our drinks needed refilling and never did anything. I recommend skipping this place, It needs a lot of work.

My friends and I ate there last night and it was just as awesome as I remember the other locations. The decor was spot on. My steak was the high cotton ribeye and it was cooked perfectly, mooing to be exact! But I especially wanted to comment on our waitress. Mary Francis was the most attentive, sweet waitress I have had in a while. She genuinely cares about the customers and you can tell. I highly recommend her next time you go.

5 Stars because our family had the best waitress there has ever been. As a matter of fact, every waitress in the resturant checked on us frequently. Every time one of the ladys walked past our table they all looked for any indication we may need something. I had the half rack of ribs: they were excellent. Salad bar was well worth the extra $2 dollars. Tuscumbia does not have many good resturants, I feel this is the best steakhouse in this city. And honestly, the best service I have ever had!!

I have been here twice, both times I was entertaining guest and taking them out for dinner. Both visits were 5 star just a few days apart. FOOD-Steaks are very tender hand cut. Everyone was impressed with the food. Salad bar was fresh with an iceberg/romain Mix (no roughage thank you). Tomatoes were good both times (if you like tomatoes you already know how hard it is to get good ones on a salad bar). Everyone was too full for dessert so can't comment on that yet. Our party covered 5 different entrees so we got a good feel for the biggest part of the menu. SERVICE-extremely good. Attentive without pestering, never an empty glass, very interactive and personable. First trip we were waited on by the owners daughter, second trip by a young waiter. Both took the time to learn names and a little something about who we were and where we came from. Overall feel of good hospitality. Meet the owner on the second trip who also made us feel very at home and appears genuinely interested in getting to know you-not just the ole hand shake with a "please come back" PRICE- very reasonable to low. 16oz tender juicy steak with salad bar/side/drink $18 OVERALL- A definite gem. Great food, great service, bargain prices. We will be regulars

Every town has got to have a Steak House. I take that back because there is none in the town that I'm living in. This place is on the bottom floor of a building. Inside, you can be seated ground level or upstairs. The lighting is not romantically dark. It is bright and you can see your food. Lots of things on the walls to look at. The Hostess was friendly and helpful. She put us in a booth. We had a baby and a car seat. It worked out in the end because the guy fell asleep right before dinner. The Waitress was friendly and helpful. Checked on us regularly, kept our drinks filled and even told us to try applying some gum numbing meds liberally when our baby is fussing, as he was. Now I know what you do... naughty naughty... j/k... There were a few options: Cat Fish, Pork Chops, Shrimp and Chicken but today it was gonna be Beef Tips over Rice with Mushrooms and Gravy for $10. It didn't take very long for the food, considering that it was a packed house, I'd say it was pretty decent. The beef was cooked to my liking and everything was delicious. I was hoping to get white rice, but I also was expecting rice pilaf. I got a slaw as a side and it also came with Texas Toast. Nothing overly exciting. The portions were a little more on the small side, but I'm on a diet so that was good. It wasn't too little or too much. I tend to overeat and sometimes it ruins the meal. I was able to walk out satisfied and not feel like I need to unbutton my pants. I will definitely come again to try something else on the menu.

I came here for a weekday lunch with two coworkers and overall it was a little disappointing. They both said they always enjoy their meals here but on this particular day neither were too crazy with what they were served and felt we must have come on a bad day. Inconsistency really stinks. I decided to order the petite sirloin (6 oz), medium well, with a baked potato and a trip to the salad bar. I did like their salad bar since the lettuce was a mixture of romaine and iceberg and they had several veggies to top it with. Potato was ok. My steak was definitely overcooked and not very warm. I guess it's my own fault for hoping that a steakhouse could actually cook a thin steak without overcooking it. I certainly liked the flavor and definitely would have enjoyed it more had it not been well done. Oh well. One of the ladies ordered the blackened chicken alfredo and she said her chicken tasted good but the dish was barely warm. The other ordered the hamburger steak medium well, which btw they both said was one of their favorite things to get, and she was extremely dissatisfied. She said it looked nothing like it usually does where it's obviously hand pressed, but instead looked like a pre-formed, likely frozen patty. She said she really felt that it had been taken from the freezer and put on the plate. It was also overcooked but not very warm. She took 3/4 of it home to her dog. So they were both a little sad that this was my first experience here and admittedly not a great one that they had hoped it would be. I probably would have given my food 3 stars at least as the only thing wrong was that the steak was overcooked. But since they were both disappointed then I have to knock a star. Bummer. Until next time Oh'.

Hawaiian chicken was very disappointing and my chicken was very dry and cheese wasn't even melted and tasted old. Not recommended

Really great place. We had a wedding party come in and they were prepared thoroughly for it. They made sure we all we're happy and having a great time with good atomsphere. Next time I'm in town I'll definitely back for the sirloin.

Lunch with out of town friends while we were in the area for a class reunion turned out to be a great choice. The service was most attentive and the food tasty, reasonably priced and generous. We lingered for conversations and never felt rushed. The Cold Water Book Store next door combined to make this a successful choice.
