Best 1500 calorie chicken finger box you'll ever have :-) Simple menu but cooked well. Quality chicken fingers, awesome fries, great coleslaw, yummy bread, great sweet tea.

The quality of the chicken finger plate has sadly declined over the years. Sadly, it is more of a chicken thumbs plate than a fingers plate. I used to eat here all the time, but sadly, I can't justify paying $9.00 for 4 chicken thumbs and some fried taters and a tea. I still love their sauce thought; it's the only thing that keeps me coming back every few months.

Guthries is a no surprises kind of fast food cafe. Fried Chicken fingers, fries, cole slaw, Texas toast and Guthries sauce. I have always found the food and service to be consistent and over all pretty good.

So I guess now I realize why there are no more Guthrie's in Birmingham. Guthrie's used to be my favorite chicken finger place, then Zaxby's came to town and took over every other city block. Guthrie's closed, and I always thought I liked it better than Zaxby's until now. I really only wanted a couple of chicken fingers, but got the box meal instead. I guess I figured I'd give the food I didn't eat to someone else later. The girl at the window sounded like she hated her job. She was't rude, she just sounded like her life was coming to an end. The chicken fingers I once loved are now bobo and bland. The fries were pure grease. Gross. Oh well.

I think Guthrie's is the best place in Tuscaloosa for chicken fingers. I'd say the chicken finger at Guthrie's is equally as good as the one at Zaxby's. Guthrie's has the simplest menu (I don't see the point of getting a salad with friend chicken and a chicken finger sauce) and lets you make limited substitutions (you can't substitute to get an extra chicken finger, for example). The decor of the restaurant is a bit dull, but I think it's because most of their business is drive-thru anyway.
