This place was surprisingly good. Much better than what you would expect from a chain in a strip mall. The portions were generous and they have real American Fries. No fake taters here. The atmosphere was good and the food was great.

Never a bad experience here. Friendly staff, casual environment, get your own refill, sports on the TV, (they'll change it if you ask nice enough) and there are floor-to-ceiling windows all over for a beautiful view. I recommend ordering the Big Dad on Texas toast. You can get you some coleslaw on it, if you so desire.

Well, I am always hesitant of BBQ places that look too commercial, and for good reason. I will start by saying that this place is very clean and the staff is very professional looking and friendly. Unfortunately, these are not the signs of good barbeque. The brisket had good texture, but was a little dry. The ribs were not particularly tender. Neither had a good smoke flavor. The mac and cheese was ok. Hard to believe it is homemade, as it seems a little too "neat". If you're in a hurry and just want some quick Q, this place will do. I do feel that Mobile likely has a better spot hiding (other than The Brick Pit which I also reviewed).

I've eaten BBQ all over the world (Yes, it's not just an American thing - believe it or not). I'm not going to get into the definitions and differences between BBQ and grilling. I'll leave that to the masses of BBQ connoisseurs out there. I'm not ashamed to lump it all together into one group - I try not to take it that seriously. I only really care about flavor and the experience. There are enough BBQ snobs out there; I'll stay away from that group if I can....ANYWAY...I don't know what Alabama BBQ is about or if there even is such an animal, but this place does a decent KC style of BBQ with a sweet red sauce. They offer a mustard sauce, but it's really out of place. I like the spicy sauce myself (of the three they offer) - it's got a lot of spices floating in it. The shack ribs are a bit on the fatty side, so go with the babybacks for only a couple extra bucks if you're not into fat on your ribs. I also had the sampler plate a couple of times. The brisket and buffalo chicken were both uninspiring, and as another reviewer commented, the sides truly are not good. They are straight out of the bag, can or freezer - highly processed and not at all fresh. There are no hints of "homemade" anywhere in the sides. This place is very clean, spacious, and there are a good number of TV's for chilling and watching the game.

New BBQ chain opened where Copeland's used to be years ago- at the corner or Hillcrest Rd & Airport Blvd. Like before it is hard to get in and out of this parking lot. The actual seating inside is larger than it looks from outside. We tried the 6 piece grilled tenders (they were good) and fries for $7.99- and - 1/2 rack of Shane's reg. ribs with fried okra and beans for $13.49. The ribs were great and the sauce and fries just right. Take out order took about 20 mins. wait time - next time we will eat in...plenty of room and TV's for the football games.

I've been here 3 times and the food has been consistent each time. I've tried the smothered pork sandwich. The pork on the sandwich was tender and tasty. The smothered pork sandwich is my go to sandwich here. Also, I've tried the baby back ribs. Surprisingly the ribs were delicious. The meat was tender and fell off the bone. If you are looking to try a different BBQ place and on this part of town, i would seriously consider trying this place.

now this was some damn good BBQ after my horrible experience with the shed Shane made me smile again..food was awesome and it is made in restaurant no store bought stuff doctored up we live right down the street from Shane's Rib Shack and it will be my 2nd home great food, great atmosphere, very clean, and employees make you feel rite at home a lot of places can learn a few things from this place. THANK GOD FOR SHANES RIBSHACK!!! Keep up the good work guys. I wish they were open later then 9pm but I understand. The ribs are meaty and tender as can be and actually grilled.

I really wanted to try this place for a long time, but just hadn't got the chance. It is located in the mini-mall off Hillcrest Road and Airport Blvd. When you go in there is a counter that you order. The seating area is large with your choice of booth, table, or take-out. It standard BBQ fair. I ordered their BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwich that came topped with Slaw on the sandwich. The sandwich was delicious, but the sides were gross. I had baked beans and it tasted like they had burned. The beans had a foul after taste. It was really clean on the inside. It is not my favorite BBQ place, but it is still good. I would go back if on that side of town, but would not make a special trip. The parking lot is narrow, but manageable.
