I really only had the wings. They are top notch. There is also a rather in depth beer selection for a sports bar like Baumhower's. Nice laid back atmosphere and the wait staff is courteous, prompt and friendly. If you are in Mobile, AL and looking for good wings with a decent selection of sauces, this is your place. Much better than Buffalo Wild wings, though that's not hard to do.

Nothing to brag about here. Been here three times. Wings usually prepared the same: seasoning and sauces dumped on top of cooked wings. Doesn't take much skill to prepare that. Servers do make rounds frequently to your table. It always seems like its a chore for them to service your table and it also seems like they don't want to be there. The menu here is way too long. It needs to be shortened desperately. When I checked in with Yelp! It stated I get free chips and salsa. Showed it to the waitress, she stated "you can't use that, we haven't did that in months." Why is this establishment still offering this? She eventually got approval from the manager. After that ordeal, we were better off without the chips and salsa. The chips were stale and salsa wasn't anything but tomatoes and hot sauce. Lets get it together here, please.

Wings are king here. I went here for lunch with some friends and the bf on the suggestion of the quality of food. I was not let down at all. They have an extensive wing menu and some awesome Mardi Gras items. I began lunch with a chicken and sausage gumbo. It was delicious. After the gumbo, I had a wings sampler topped with garlic, cajun, and buffalo sauces. The wings were cooked just right and sauced perfectly. To accompany the wings, I had some of their onion straws. The onion straws were amazing. They were thinly sliced and fried. Mmm, those were good. For dessert, I had their beignets which are yummy and tasty. My lunch companions said that these beignets are very close to the ones at Cafe Du Monde in New Orleans. They made a great finish to the awesome meal. I will easily come back here because we had great service and great food at a reasonable price.

Slightly better than your average sports bar, with very friendly and prompt service. The pot roast po boy was delicious, although the fries were a bit soggy. It's true that the wings are perhaps not spectacular enough to name the restaurant after, but they are tasty enough and you really can't beat the variety of flavors and dipping sauces available. There are a lot of TVs in the bar, and some high top booths that are comfy and offer a nice view of the games. There is usually an eclectic mix of folks, from trendy twenty-somethings to old guys in overalls just getting off work, all of which makes for great people watching.

Been twice. Beer is cold. TV's are big. Food is absolutely horrible. Even smells bad when it comes out. Don't bother mentioning to the manager, he doesn't care.

Loved the 911 sauces. A lot of flavor for such a hot sauce. In fact, I am going to try to recreate it at home. I also ordered the Caribbean Fish (red fish was fish of the day). that was very tasty as well. Over all the some of the TV's could be updated, but is a really good place to get some decent beer and some great wings. Service was great both times I went.

I was really in the mood for some boneless buffalo wings, so I suggested this place and I really wish I hadn't. Ordered the Hot Lips Platter ($13), which was just sad. Breading had fallen off most of the "lips" and they had a pathetic amount of buff sauce, even though I asked for them to be Hot. What I got for the price was a disgrace. The waitress was really bad. Never bussed our table, so we're sitting there with dirty dishes completely covering our tiny table. She never offered refills, though I wanted another beer. She had no idea what beers they carried (even though there are only about 10) and she was MIA most of the time. I was really unhappy and regretful of my decision, but my husband liked his grilled chicken sandwich so I'll give it 2 stars.

Decent wings, I'd say they're better than Buffalo Wild Wings, though their spiciness scale is a bit conservative (though that's easy to fix, order your wings hotter!). This place had a pretty good happy hour (1 cent beer) and how can you go wrong with that?

Food was good for what is was. My biggest complaint is - if you're going to fancy yourself a sports bar, you need to spend the money and purchase up-to-date TV's. 4 stars if this happens. BTW, service was excellent.

I go every time I'm in Mobile for the Senior Bowl - loved it the first time, loved it just as much every year since. Onion straws are a great compliment to a big plate of wings, get 3 flavors, I'd say jerk chicken is a must, buffalo of course. Good atmosphere for a sports fan - the collection of memorabilia will have you gazing all over throughout your meal. And frosted mugs - NICE! It's a great change of pace from Hooter's - quality wings, cold beer, catch a game, relax.

Great food. Great Atmosphere. Poor service. As expected, we ordered buffalo wings with 911 to them since it's the exact same temperature as regular hot wings are anywhere else in the country. We also ordered the cheesy fries and onion straws for the 3 of us. It was the perfect amount of food. The place was busy, but wasn't packed. Our server was slow, incompetent, and had no sense of humor (I said I would "splurge" on a lemon for my water, and she responded that it was free). My water was never refilled or even was offered to be refilled, and my friend's diet Coke wasn't refilled until near the end of the meal when I physically took her cup up to the bar myself and asked the bartender for a refill. The place would have 5 stars, but the server ruined the fifth. If we had Baumhower's in California I'd much rather go there than BWW's. By the way, the menu is humongous with a ton of different options.

Stopped in for lunch. Had the wings and fries. Wings were very dry (over cooked) and both sauces (teriyaki and buffalo/garlic) were lacking in the flavor dept. I was starving so I ate them. The service was decent but definitely nothing to brag about. You could probably get the same amount of service and personality going to a mcdonalds drive thru. The fries were the highlight of the visit and they were just basic curly fries. Would only revisit to try out their bar selection.

Our retirement group (just 5 of us at that visit) met for lunch at this in the beaten path sports bar and grill. Our waitress (I think her name was Jessica) a delight, pleasant, knows the menu, and professional with excellent timing re drink refills, and orders (having worked as a waiter I can appreciate a good job in this area when I see it). The manager came by to see how we were doing. He obviously takes pride in this place. The kitchen was relatively slow today but with Jessica keeping us posted it was not a major issue. One suggestion, the green tomato bacon sandwich which is in the photo no longer exists although they can special order a regular BLT if you want. The menu is adequate with wings being the flagship. They are good!... and the curly fries (one of the few places in Mobile that have these) are excellent. One of our group had the fish and reported that it was perfectly cooked and really superb, way above what you would expect at a sports bar and grill. This is a well visited, well located restaurant with excellent food and professional experienced people running it. Would recommend highly for this gendre of dining or playing.

I've only been here once, so I will return for an update. I had one of their grilled fish salads. I know, I know... "Why did you go to a chicken place and order fish salad?!?" Becuase I'm FAT, alright?! Haha, just kidding. I was in the mood for a fish salad; I don't know what to tell you. This was the most pathetic excuse for a salad I have ever seen. It looked like something they spooned on to your tray in elementary school. It looked like one of the reject bags of pre-made iceberg salads you pick up at Wal-Mart. It was just a sloppy, tasteless mess on a plate. The fish was over-cooked and the salad was highly over-dressed. I dunno, it was a disappointing experience. My waitress was very nice though. I will return and try the chicken!

This is a great place for hangover foods (college student speaking here). Big ole burgers, wings are great, and all at a great price. Cool interior, very sports bar meets cabin and the staff is great. When they do trivia it sometimes is way too loud and somewhat obnoxious, so try to avoid going if that's something that'll bother you (I think it was Thursday). Overall, good food with a good price tag!

I got my order to pick up. I got 2 pounds of wings to go. They were simply not good. They were dry with barely any sauce. I asked for XX hot and they weren't spicy. Over all I am disappointed. I should have listened to the Yelp reviews haha

Tables were super sticky even after the (fabulous) waiter tried to wipe them. Food took a long time to arrive, considering the restaurant was practically empty. The pot pie was gross. Just chicken chowder (tasted like canned chicken) with a thick layer of dough over it. Needed a knife to cut it.

Great wings, but don't stop there grab a beet and steak the steaks are amazing and grilled to order. Fried wickles make for an amazing start to your meal. Bar staff is prompt courteous and knowledgable. 24 beers on tap, and a great happy hour from 11-6 most days. Domestics for only $0.99, need I say more. Not great, but not bad for the price. Try it when you just need to eat! You won't love it, but your sure not to hate it either!

I've been to other Baumhower's, really enjoy the sports bar/restaurant environment. I don't remember if the menu varies or has changed but they use to have Texas Caviar, which was delicious but didn't see it on this menu :(. They have a full bar, great happy hour prices and a large menu, great for a group with varied tastes. For me, being a vegetarian, the menu is somewhat limited but still had some choices. Paired with everything else, knowing the menu limitations, I would still return, the service was not mentionable and passed on service, in general, in the south, not as good as other places.

My burger was undercooked, though pretty decent (Bob's Gooey Burger) and the hottest of the hot wings were pretty mild. That being said, the waitress (Paige) was very prompt and nice. Kind of resembles an Applebee's to a point, nothing special really.

Typical bar food. Nothing Special. Great "Pep-Rally" drink prices. $.99 Domestics- typical beers as well as Blue Moon, Fat Tire, and Sweetwater 420(Mobile)

FAR TOO MUCH SALT! They have a great selection of food to chose from but everything I've had and every time that I have visited either location, the food is just too salty. The atmosphere is fun for watching football and drinking beer.

I only ordered takeout, but the catfish was really good. I was pleasantly surprised, as bars don't always have the best foods. The batter was seasoned, which seems more and more uncommon these days. The fries were just fries. Nothing to write home about.

OMG!! We loved it here! We had a great little waitress who took care of us real well, even though our party consisted of 9 people. We ordered a few appetizers and they were wonderful! Everyone was pleased with their food. I got a BLT and it had the most bacon I've ever seen or imagined on a BLT! Plus I think this was some if the best bacon I've tasted, EVER! And they used fried green tomatoes on it too. The atmosphere was sporty and pretty cool. Will go back when were back in this area again!!

Have been to Baumhowers a couple of times now, and I will definitely be back. I'm not the biggest wing fan in the world, but theirs were worth having again. Also, if you have a big appetite and like big burgers, try the Big Baum!

  • Chris B.

It all depends on what you get. For an appetizer, the fried mushrooms are some of the best I have ever eaten. The burgers at surprising very good(probably the best thing on the menu). The wings have always been kinda disappointing. They are dry and the sauces do not have that much flavor. For dessert, the fried banana pudding is very good. I gave it 3 stars because you expect better wings from a restaurant that is a wings restaurant.
