I'm from Miami, FL. Wing places are everywhere, so I was skeptical when my buddy Adam brought me here while visiting, but I must say I enjoyed the Jerk wings. Had a few beers, very nice spot, and amazing prices. Very cheap, something I'm not use to back home. A lot of football fans were in attendance. War eagle!

I ordered the Hickory Bacon Jack Burger cooked to medium. It was a good size and cooked perfectly. The Poppers were not good. $4.59 for 4 pieces is rather high and they tasted like frozen ones from the grocery store. Onion rings were just ok. I ordered carry out so that could be part of the reason for the soggy rings. Food was ready quickly considering the place was packed. The wings were highly recommended by two people at the bar but I have never liked fried wings. I prefer them grilled, then cooked low and slow in the oven. If I make it back to town, I would go back. Might even get a small order of wings to try. I would like a few more options on sauces but certainly not a deal breaker.

Lunch time coaxed me to Crickets for a good (non fast food) burger and that's exactly what I got. The Jumbo beefy awesomeness of crickets burgers is what the crowd should be about. For critics sake I tried the wings and I was not impressed. People rave about their wings but they were petrified in the fryer. I need a dentist stat!!! Get this dried out chicken from my choppers. I ordered the Jalepeno Jack burger and the server (owners wife) warned me "it's hot do you really want it"? ... I ordered it did t I! Yes it was hot and oh yes it was good, I asked for medium rare and that's how it came out. Super terrific too bad I didn't like the wings.

Would be a good place for lunch if you didn't have to wait 30 minutes to sit down every time. No idea why this place is as popular as it is. The long and short of it: 1. Waiting. There will be a long wait. There always is. Mars it hard to do for a working lunch. 2. Lunch Special. $10 will get you 12 wings, fries and a drink which is solid. 3. Wings. The wings are good, not great. They're small but flavorful. The extra hot sauce is actually pretty spicy. It's your regular wing and burger place that's extremely popular for some reason. Nothing new here. Overall Grade: C

Most of the locals I know love this place. I am a huge fan of hot wings and this is not the best wing place for me. They are small wings, the flavor is good, but they are not all that. The burgers are fantastic and a good size. The seatting is not the best, if you're not there at, or just before 11:00AM "prepare to stand and glare at the seated people", HAHA

I wanted something different but they was out. How can they be out I mean really. The very professional and sweet waitress gave me great input on a burger, that was absolutely delicious. This is my first 5 star I don't give them out easy but this place was great

This place is always crowded during lunch time, so we try to get there at around 10.45am. I usually either have the cheeseburger or wings, but I prefer the former. The wings can be small, not meaty and kinda dry. Sometimes, I enjoy eating the onion rings and fries more than the burger or wings. I've never had bad service here, so thumbs up for that.

One of the best local restaurants in Huntsville AL. Delicious hot small ck wings fried to crispy. Make sure you order them with extra wet (extra sauce). And good luck to get a seat if you show up after 1130 on weekdays. Definitely worth stopping by if around (off I-65)

I've been here several times and I will keep coming here because I love their hot wings! Service here is pretty good and their prices are great. It does get really busy at lunch time. If you get there about 30 minutes after 11AM you probably won't be able to find a seat. I wish they had a bigger place.

Today was my first time to dine at Crickets. The food was good but extremely disappointed with the service. I was appalled how the Asian owners only acknowledged the Caucasian families and complimented their children but never once acknowledged any families or kids of minority. I will not be going back, my minority dollars will dine somewhere else who appreciates equality.

Above-average wing joint. Only complaint is the wings are a little small, but everything else is excellent. Quality service and priced well. Regarding the guy complaining about the number of TV's and the patio furniture, you should have done a little better research. I'm pretty sure they don't market themselves as a sports bar. They are a wing and burger joint and do that well. There are places much more suitable for your need nearby.

This place is a cheap good local place for wings. As a result it is always busy, and the service comes across as a little slow and chaotic. But let me tell you the wings are definitely worth it. Even with how busy the place is, the wings are cooked to perfection and taste great. We shared a 20 wing 1/2 lemon pepper 1/2 hot. You could taste the lemon and the pepper as individual flavors on the tongue. For my taste "hot" implied a hotter taste, but there are more than enough hotter options on the menu that I suspect I'll select the right level next time.

Won't go back. Has gone drastically down hill. Wings seemed to be leftover and reheated with no meat and all skin. Very dry and expensive. Would love to give it negative stars, but that's not an option. The owners could care less about the quality of food. We were so surprised tonight as we used to really like this place.

Wonderful wings, the best in town for sure! I love the Jamaican jerk and habenero flavors. Also wonderful big burgers. If you like hot stuff try the habenero jack burger. I love Mrs. G's dumplings. She makes them herself and they are great fried or steamed. As far as appetizers go, the fried mushrooms and cheddar peppers are my favorite! Also really love the mucho nachos which really are very big. If you order salad they are very good and a good size. Best blue cheese dressing I have eaten. I don't like that Mrs G charges for to-go cups and extra sauce but it's a small price to pay for absolutely wonderful food.

Good consistent food. Not much of a beer selection.

Of all the places i've eaten wings, this place is by far the best one. There are at times when the wait is a bit long. But if you show up before the place opens youll have a seat. Wing special are great and delicious. My favorite is the medium special hot with sweet tea. They also have other food besides wings, the question is why would you order something else when the wings are delicious.

Awesome buffalo wings, super crispy even though I did take out. I got hot but I think I could have gotten the extra hot. Definitely good with beer!

  • Matt A.

Definitely a fan of this place. It's busy at lunch - and for good reason. The wings are very tasty and consistently good. Do yourself a favor and get the "special" which will come with fries and a drink. They charge 50 cents extra for soda. You can also order bacon and/or cheese on your fries which help put them in the category of "not to be missed!!"

Good food, great prices, & the best wings in Madison or Huntsville! A 30 piece order & a few cold beers is a Crimson Tide watching must! If your in town and want some great wings from some friendly folks this is your place.

  • Justin A.

Good wings, very reasonable. Not much else to say. If you are in Madison and want wings, this is the best place to get them. Be wary of the Syrup that is the sweet tea though. I guess that's what people like here.

WINGS FLAVORS- This is probably what most people care about so here you go. Im only giving you the different hot flavors because if your not getting one of those then whats the point. MILD- Literally almost naked chicken wings. no heat at all. kinda lacking in flavor. HOT-This will be most peoples choice. Not as hot as most hot level wings. The flavor is the best, and has a kick of heat at the end. This flavor will not over heat your mouth and force you to take a break. EXTRA HOT- Don't be intimidated by the name. This is about the average heat for hot wings. These wings are identified by a small piece of white onion on top of one of the wings. This is so they don't get mixed up with hot flavored wings. I get these wings when i'm craving a little extra heat. It sacrifices a little bit of flavor but if you like your wings legitimately hot these are for you. If your too afraid to sacrifice your lunch on wings that are too hot for you, you can always mix your wing flavors with any combination that you want. OTHER FLAVORS- Assortment of the average non buffalo wing lover flavors. There are around 4 of these and honestly i don't know them. Don't waste your time First things first. The wings themselves are the best i have ever had. If this review was purely on the wings it would be a six for emphases. I have gotten the the burger and ribs before and all I could think the whole time was whats the point. Its not that there other food isn't good. Its that there wings are so good that they haunt you while you eat that burger. The aesthetics of crickets are...well its kind of a hole in the wall. But you almost cant tell because its always packed with people getting their wing fix on. They serve a limited amount of beer and wine as well. The seating consists of a small "bar", tables, and booths. There is also outside seating (plastic chairs and tables). The best thing to do is order carry out and enjoy in your own home. This way you can enjoy your wings in the animalistic way that your too embarrassed to do in public.

Promises wings that are "fresh and never frozen" but the giant chest freezer right inside tells the truth. Poppers were frozen in the middle. Wings were spicy, but had this nasty, dried out, raggedy texture. Clearly nowhere near "fresh". I would not recommend this place to anyone, much less someone who appreciates good wings.

Great restaurant! I have dined at Cricket's on a few occasions while visiting Madison. The locals rave about this place and told me its been around for as long as they can remember. Their burgers and wings are tasty and the beer is always cold :) Service is great, staff is very friendly, and the atmosphere is fun. I definitely recommend dining here if you are in the area.

I'm not necessarily a "Wing person", but great cheese fries and wings that lived up to the hype. Great price for the quality of food, would definitely return!

Wings were good, Tea was great. They are now my second favorite wings place. The price is very reasonable 12 Wings+Tea for $8.95. Service was very good too. There are more sauce choices at Beauregard's and because you can combine 2 sauces on one order, the taste is better, especially since they have a honey-hot-gold. Being limited to hot only made them come in second. I guess I just prefer a sweet heat over heat alone.

I had been craving Cricket's for quite some time now. It's one of those things where I was craving Crickets' wings, not just any wings. During this time of craving, I had wings from somewhere else. They didn't do the trick. After finally getting my Cricket's fix, it reaffirmed that they have the - absolute, without a doubt, in my humble opinion - best wings I have ever had. Yes. Not just in Huntsville, or Alabama, or America. Best ever! I go for the large wings special. Now, I have once eaten close to 20 wings but in most cases my eyes are bigger than my stomach. The large special is 12 wings, fries, and a drink. I get my wings hot and at Cricket's, hot is the perfect amount of heat and flavor. They were also perfectly crispy and most of the wings were pretty big. In one word - amazing. I think I could eat at Cricket's once a week. If you're craving great wings, go to Cricket's.

Great wings. Have been going here for years. But to all of those who feel the same way I do about tinny wings at crickets, try Wingzilla in Athens. The same sauce recipe same everything just bigger wings. But Cricket's is still the best wings in Madison/Huntsville

We live in Huntsville and I have heard that this a great place to go for Wings. My husband and I finally visted for lunch. We tried the Hot and Mild Wings - both were good. If you like a little heat the Mild is for you; if can go a little Hotter then I recommend Hot. I personally liked the Hot better. We also tried the Beer Batter Dipped Onion Rings! Now the onion rings were 5-stars! You could smell and taste the true beer batter. Service was excellent! Our waitress was very friendly and patient as we decided what to order on our 1st visit. We will be back again. Hint though - lunch ends promptly at 2pm. You come after 2pm, no service again until dinner at 5pm. They also have daily specials which, if we had paid attention would have saved us a few dollars.

Crickets has the best chicken wings around. They cook their wings at extremely high temperatures, which allows the wings to get a good crispy finish on the outside while maintaining the tender juicy meat inside. The sauce is very similar to Frank's hot sauce, and is a perfect compliment to the crispy-fried wings. I've tried Wings all around the state, and Crickets has everyone beat hands-down. Fast service and good food make for a great combo! If you're going during rush hours though, be prepared to wait. Crickets "hole-in-the-wall" location is what really makes it special. However it also has limited seating and fills up quickly at lunch. If you're going for lunch, be there when the doors open at 11:00a.m. or be prepared to wait until the main lunch rush is over. Great food though, and absolutely worth the wait! Good burgers too!

Service fair; great wings, but they are ruined with the ranch - It doesn't taste homemade and it is very vinegary; cheap prices.

Excellent wings. Good service. Filled up fast during dinner.

Probably the best Wings in the Huntsville area. Nice, crunchy, and hot! The service is pretty good considering the crowds they get, especially during lunch. The sweet tea is extra sweet!

Visiting Madison, AL for a work training, so I turned to Yelp to find a good hangout restaurant with a sports bar feel. A bit disappointed. There are a couple of small TVs and the outdoor seating is a couple of cheap patio sets in front of the main store entrance. The wings were cooked well, but skimpy on the meat and under sauced. Flavor was fine, but I was looking for a little more robust chicken than the chicklet wings we were served. Our server was polite, but we did seem to wait a bit long for our food (not her fault I'm sure). The burger had good flavor and was cooked well (as advertised), but a couple of times I bit into what seemed like small bone fragments, not just charred pieces of meat. The last straw came when I asked for a to go cup for my soda, and I was told there was a 75¢ charge for this. After my party spent $45 there, I thought I could take a Dr. Pepper with me, but I guess not. We are not planning to return there this week while we are in town.

Top quality wings and burgers. Be sure to get there right before 11 or wait until 12 because the seats get filled quickly. The wings are the main draw. The lunch special comes in regular or large (8 or 12 wings) along with fries and a drink. Wings can be ordered in about 5 or 6 flavors. You can't really go wrong with any of the flavors. Food comes out quick and you pay at the counter up front which is nice when you only have a set amount of time for lunch and can't wait around.

  • Sarah H.

Most of my coworkers are obsessed with the wings here. Not being a wing fan myself, I got the grilled chicken sandwich and holy moly...it was amazing! The fries were good as well, but that chicken was perfectly cooked. It gets super crowded during lunch hours (always a good sign), so be prepared to possibly vulture around for a table, but it is totally worth it.
