Diabetics at TGI Friday

If you're a diabetic, then you must be extra careful while dining at TGI Friday. Try the salad menu at TGI Friday to keep your sugar and sodium intake in check. Soups are great to keep you full and satisfied without munching on the unhealthy greased meat-based dishes on TGI Friday menu.

Foods to Avoid at TGI Friday for Diabetics:

Sugar and sodium intake are crucial if you have diabetes. While the salads are the best option for you at TGI Friday, it is recommended to avoid the Pecan-Crusted Chicken Salad containing over 1000 calories and 1,650mg sodium. Also, skip Warm Pretzels with Craft Beer-Cheese dipping sauce as it contains more than 3000mg sodium. It is wise to skip the dessert for diabetics, especially the Brownie Obsession topped with Vanilla ice cream, caramel sauce, and pecans.

High Cholesterol at TGI Friday

Fat and calorie count are normally high at American diners and TGI Friday is no exception in that case. You should make smart choices while dining at TGI Friday if you have cholesterol issues.

Foods to Avoid at TGI Friday for High Cholesterol

This place is looking a bit worn and though they have "redone" the exterior and interior, it still looks a little tired. Also, they need to give their restrooms some TLC. I had their Capt' Morgan Chicken sandwich. It was very "heavy" and tasted good. A little on the pricey side for a lunch. My wife had fried shrimp and I sampled them and they were good too.

We used to visit TGI Fridays somewhat frequently, but as the years have gone on, their prices have gone up and the quality of food has deteriorated substantially. Today we went because of a $50 gift card so we figured we'd try it one more time. Three adults and two children under 7, and the food left a lot to be desired. Two of the three adults got burgers. Why not? The staff was actually filming a spot for their Jump Burger promotion and looked like they were having a great time. The burgers were among the worst I have ever had. The patties were obviously previously frozen, thin, dry, and flavorless. I've had better McDonald's patties that have sat out for a day or two. The toppings were okay, but the meat? You know, the whole reason to get a burger, was just plain awful. Frankly, I'd be embarrassed to put these burgers on my menu, much less be running a promotion in an attempt to get more people to actually try to eat these unpalatable things. Two stars is for the incredibly nice waitress and manager that offered us free appetizer coupons when, upon him soliciting our feedback, was faced with a barrage of unkind analogies for the coasters that they served up as some kind of meat. The staff was nice, the restaurant was pretty clean for its 25+ year age, but the restrooms smelled like melted, rancid ice cream (as my seven year old daughter described it). We got free burger coupons using their jumpburrger.com promotions. Needless to say, we won't be using them.

DISGUSTING! The half a chicken breast on my salad looked like it was cooked for 5 hours, sat out for 3 days, and was slapped on my salad this afternoon. Not even reheated! YUM! NOT!

This would've been a 1-star review but I did 2 because the food was great and the waitress was very nice. When we got there, it was insanely busy, but it was Friday night, I get it. When we finally got a table, we were told we would be sitting at a high table, but then we were stopped in the middle of the busy aisle, and were told that someone beat us to the high table, so we got seated at a regular table. But there was a problem with our table: it was too close to the aisle. I sat closest to the aisle so every time someone walked by, I was worried they'd bump into me. Then we got drinks. The first drink I ordered was a Sprite. At first I thought it was the bottom of the tap (just my luck) but I was told that the Sprite was something else, but it was still dreadfully bland, it tasted like water with a hint of I-don't-wanna-know. I got another Sprite, still blech. But then I just asked for a coke, which was decent. Then...you guessed it. Food! I got pasta with marinara sauce on the side with fries. I ordered from the kids' menu. Don't judge me. But it didn't get to our table until like an hour after we got there, well, it was busy when we got there, but even when we did, it wasn't too too busy. We should have gotten our food within 35 minutes. Our table had no food on it for an hour, which pissed me off. We got there at 7:30, and left at 9. And we were gonna go to bridge street in Huntsville but since they kept us waiting, everything was closed when we got there. So TGI Friday's kept us starved for over an hour, and made us late to the mall. Thanks a lot, TGI Friday's! The worst thing is, we have a coupon for August and September also, but I don't have a reason to use anytime soon after the terrible service we've had. We'll give 'em to someone else because we obviously aren't gonna use them. In fact, the only reason we went to TGI Friday's is because I had a coupon, but that was money wasted.

I have been here three times since living in Huntsville, the first time was amazing; food was hot, drinks were spot on, service was perfect and the restaurant was clean. The second time was just okay, service mainly sucked the server had a chip on his shoulder food was okay. This third and final time, I didn't even eat here. I walked in a smelled what seemed to be like a two day old baby diaper smell, floor were sticky and dirty, the ledge beside the table had a dead fly and some other debris on it and the vent above my table was caked with dust. It was so bad, my wife asked if we could leave and go somewhere else, so that's exactly what we did. When I asked were the health inspection score was they said it's usually in the front and we don't know where it went. That was way too many red flags for me. So eat at your own risk here.

Not really impressed. Pecan Crusted Chicken Salad meat was fairly dry. Server was extremely friendly but apparently overworked. Long wait times after meal was delivered, for anything extra. This was on a Monday evening and the store was not extremely busy either. Would I go back? Probably not

I would rate this as a 1 star experience, but, because our server was good, I give T.G.I. Friday's 2 stars. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ My Girls Night Out group converged here last month, and it was my first visit to this T.G.I. Friday's in over 7 years. This store opened back around 1982 and honestly, the "look and feel" of it has not changed since then - only thing noticeably absent on the servers were the plethora of buttons they used to have to wear; the hats; suspenders, and the men's neckties. We were told that to get happy hour prices on apps and drinks, you must sit in the elevated bar area. So, we did. The highlight of our experience was the enthusiasm and conscientious nature of our server. She was really sweet and "on the spot." Our group had the following: House Pinot Grigio ($3/glass on Happy Hour and it wasn't bad); (again, the Apps were discounted at Happy Hour); Pan-Seared Pot Stickers App; Loaded Potato Skins App; Spinach Florentine Flatbread App. I noticed T.G.I. Friday's has upgraded their plating since 1982. The food came out on white, elongated dishes and looked good. That is where the goodness stopped. The Pan-Seared Pot Stickers App was "mine" and as much as I love this dish, elsewhere, this was the absolute worst excuse for pot stickers ever. They were chewy dough-wads, cold to the touch, with maybe a 1/4 teaspoon of pork in each one. I managed to pry the dough away from the pork and eat the microscopic pork pieces. My group didn't complain about their food, even though it arrived rather staggered with several of us sitting "plateless," while others began eating. I think the $3 wine must have kicked in. So, if you want super cheap drinks, go to TGIF during happy hour (4-6? I'm not sure, call to get a definitive time). Eat beforehand at the Krystal around the corner, their food is better.

Came in and had some French onion soup a salad and the three for all. Everything was prepared well. I noticed the manager in duty going as far as to take orders in her free time. That is rare to see. Good Job Guys. Yes it's a franchise but not beyond review. ;-)

Very lukewarm and unlike other Fridays I've been to before. The spinach flatbread appetizer was cold and stale. The waiter was extremely nice about it though and brought the manager out after we complained. However the manager was brisk and basically questioned why we were unsatisfied with the food...pretty bad attitude to have toward customers. We ended up getting slightly hotter food though it was still lackluster. The only good thing about the night was the friendly waiter.

So went out to lunch with my husband and we hadn't been to TGI Friday's forever so i suggested we go. HUGE mistake. When we arrived we stood by the "hostess stand" waiting to be seated, one waitress hurried by and said she would be with us a minuted. Waited almost 5 minutes before another server came over and seated us. We were a little worried by now because even though the place was full we were only counting 4 servers in the whole restaurant. Well our server came over and introduced herself as Jenny. Nice lady - totally overwhelmed. She took our drink orders, brought them back pretty quickly and then took our food orders. We were very concerned that it would take forever to get our food because we kept watching how many tables these poor servers were responsible for. Our poor little Jenny had about 10 tables that we could figure. Anyway food came out quickly which was good. Hubby went to pick up the ketchup bottle - OMG totally empty. Did i happen to mention we arrived at 1115 so had to have been the first onces seated at this table. So anyway kept waiting for our server to check on us - she never did but i did catch her at the table next to us and asked for keptchup and mustard. Got the ketchup right away, mustard just a little bit later. So we ate and really enjoyed our food. So by 1145 we were done eating and proceeded to sit and wait for our check. Hubby was getting a little thirsty also as his iced tea had never been refilled and was bone dry. At 1205 Jenny "stopped by" and asked hubby if he wanted some more tea, we said no we would just like our check. Another 5 mintues goes by and we finally get our check, paid and left. Now i've got to say i in no way blame this on our Jenny. She did the absolute best she could but was totally overwhelmed. No way should any server be responsible for that many tables. I also noticed staff waiting in line to put in orders in the system, print checks, and take payment. Ridiculous - management totally responsible for the horrendous experience and we will NEVER go back. Oh and BTW - never once saw a manager the whole time we were there. Shame on you Fridays!!!

I keep going to this place hoping that it gets better. Im always a sucker for its commercials. Went there tonight and saw alot of improvement, but still ended up leaving with a bad taste in my mouth... literally. Our waitress was super nice for a change, and i was very excited to try out some new dishes on the menu. The queso dip and bbq flatbread appetizers were delicious though luke warm. I ordered the garlic shrimp. The first few bites were fantastic until i came upon my first WHOLE clove of garlic! The taste was sooo strong and it wasnt even fully cooked. Then when i looked closer at my plate i realized it was full of half cooked garlic cloves. I spent quite a while picking them all out of my plate. Even though i picked out the big pieces i obviously missed alot of small pieces. Im still sick from eating a half a plate full of raw garlic. I couldnt even finish. I will probably be back as soon as i see another promotional commercial and pray it gets better...

I haven't been to TGI Fridays in ages, so I figured I'd go check it out. The Spinach Dip is awesome and could be an entire meal by itself. I ate part of it and took the rest home; it reheats well. They've added a new line to their menu the "Right Portion, Right Price" menu. It's still plenty of food .If they had not been out of the mini desserts, my meal would have been the perfect size. Unfortunately I'd gotten my heart set on a dessert, so I got the chocolate peanut butter pie. It was wonderful, but too much.

It's still plenty of food .If they had not been out of the mini desserts, my meal would have been the perfect size. Unfortunately I'd gotten my heart set on a dessert, so I got the chocolate peanut butter pie. It was wonderful, but too much.

About TGI Friday

TGI Friday is a casual dining American restaurant chain founded in 1965. The term “TGI” is an acronym for Thank God It's and together the name of the restaurant is often announced as Thank God It's Friday. Over the years of its existence, the TV commercials and other advertisement streams have also twisted the phrase a bit and used it as Thank Goodness It's Friday. The restaurant serves alcoholic beverages primarily. However, they are also known for their low-carbohydrate and low-fat menu items to promote a healthy lifestyle. TGI Friday also offers gluten-free items on its menu for those with gluten intolerance.

Besides the cool name, TGI Friday also has an interesting background story of its origin. The founder of the restaurant Alan Stillman lived in a New York-based neighbourhood full of a young crowd, especially girls from the airline and fashion industry. He started the first TGI Friday restaurant in New York in the hope of meeting single women as there weren't any such public place for young men and women to meet. He invested $5000 on his own and borrowed another $5000 from his mother to buy a bar named The Good Tavern and renamed the premise to Thank God It's Friday, inspired from an expression during his time at Bucknell University.
