Rosie's is not Mexican food, I'm not sure it even qualifies as TexMex. It is consistently good quality American food. I have to confess I worked here in college before moving to California where I've been for the last 10 years. I enjoyed working here; the managers/owners were nice and respectful. If I remember correctly the margarita mix is made on site from freshly squeezed limes. When home for a visit I make it a point to stop in with friends. Don't count on something super authentic, but do count on a good atmosphere, consistently good quality food and good service ... and I suggest trying the Mexican lasagna and a Mambo Taxi.

My favorite Mexican in town, though a bit expensive compared to other places

I love Rosies so much, we go every Saturday! The best fajitas ever!!!! They serve their fajitas with a garlic butter sauce! YUMMY :) They also have the best salsa ever! I cannot say enough about this place! Awesome food, awesome customer service and extremely quick!

Like the last reviewer, I love Rosie's. While it's somewhat americanized, it's still very good Mexican food that the whole family can enjoy. Service is very prompt, and the staff tries their best to please. The food delivery time is short, and the tables are good size and the room spacious. The only improvement could be the bar, that is good - just not great. Also my Taquitos were a bit over done, and the queso dip a bit thin - but they were still very good and the price reasonable and worth the trip.

The food is BLAH to mediocre @ best....but it gets a few xtra points for the largess of the building, the friendly service and the fun (if not too staged) decor. For REAL mexican try Nuevo Laredo in ATL.

  • Lauren S.

Rosie's offers pretty standard chain restaurant Mexican food. It's consistently mediocre. There's something for everyone on the menu and the chips and salsa are good. The decor is nice and it's usually always busy but I don't think there's anything special about the food. Not my go-to choice.

Totally worth a visit. Large menu good food great service. Nice decor, homemade tortillas, nice bar, good margaritas. Chili Rellenos my favorite. Always worth a stop when in town.

Rosie's was recommended to me and my coworkers/friends for great food and a great time! It definitely did not disappoint. The drinks were perfect, the food hot and tasty, the desserts HUGE and sweet, and the service was quick and friendly. Next time I'm in Huntsville I will be visiting Rosie's. A lot of people in me group (yes, we were a group and received quick service) ordered fajitas. I wish I did! They looked amazing. You get a sizzling plate of meat, a side of rice and beans, a bowl of tortillas, and probably some other dish with food that I didn't see from my end of the table. My enchilada was amazing but did not have the fajita wow factor. Finally dessert! I shared the flan, tres leches cake, and fried ice cream. It took five or six people to finish these desserts! The flan and tres leches were my favorite because the fried ice cream was too large to really enjoy the crispy fried element with the ice cream. Definite recommend for great food and quick service.

Default Mexican joint for Huntsvegas with two locations : South Parkway and University. To me, it's generally all the same... They have a tried and true recipe to get Huntsvillians(?) what the want... quickly. The lunch menu is standard fare: tacos, burritos, "taco salad, and combo platters of beef and chicken versions of the aforesaid groupings. Nothing special, but they're packed at just about every time after lunch. This review isn't to say that it's bad food; in fact, I just had a raspberry chipotle salmon that was excellently prepared. But to me, most of he menu isn't so Mexican as it is regional and generally tasty. Other interesting dishes are the chalupas, the taquitos/flautas, and the "famosa" shrimp burritos (when the kitchen's feeling up to it). On a lighter note, the frozen drinks are pretty good as well. There are a lot of reasons to hang out at Rosies, as many locals will tell you, but don't come for a necessarily unique or "authentic" experience.

While Rosie's has a unique atmosphere and the decorations are pretty authentic, the food was just like you could get at any other Mexican restaurant in Huntsville, if not a little bit more upscale. It was very good, but was really crowded, as this seems to be a popular place for the lunchtime rush.

Excellent food and atmosphere. Staff was very attentive and helpful. Will definitely go again when we visit our daughter and her husband.

Good but basic. Service perfunctory and on the slow side dispite its being a non rush period. Coffee well oxidized.

Not wanting to end our afternoon date out of the house while the grandparents were watching our toddler, we stopped in to Rosie's for another round. It's much like any of these mid-scale Americanized mexican food places. We sat at the bar, where the servers were wearing Corona shirts. We ordered a top-shelf margarita, a Mambo Taxi (margarita mixed with sangria), and a Deluxe chile con queso (cheese dip with ground beef). The corn chips were light a clearly from a bag from a truck from a factory warmed up. The salsa tasted as if it was made with canned tomatoes and seemed to lack any hint of green or freshness. The cheese dip was surprisingly flavorless considering the added ingredients. Having read a recent review for a different place with an awesome Mambo Taxi, I was excited to try, but it was mostly a wine-colored margarita in which the wine took the tang off the fresh-lime squeezed margarita mix. It wasn't terribly memorable. The NFL game was showing at the bar. There were a few others who seemed to be regular enough to be friendly with the bartenders. There was a decent crowd gathering as we were leaving at 5. Probably due to the fact that they were open until 9 on Christmas Eve Eve.

Amazing décor, delicious food, really pleasant staff, and a great atmosphere make Rosie's one of the best Latin American choices in town! I really appreciate the plazas that accompany Rosie's locations because they add so much to the surrounding aesthetics of their location along with just being a nice to sit and socialize and take photos while you wait. They have fresh, homemade tortillas (best I've eaten since I left San Antonio) and chips! They have huge portions, so beware ordering entrées. I almost always order à la carte. Will always go to Rosie's!

First time here we really liked it. The white queso and salsa is sooooo delicious. The service is good and so is the food. There is a beautiful outdoor garden my daughter threw pennies in the fountain. We will DEFINATLEY be back

Adequate mexican in Huntsville. The service is very quick, the menu is large and the chips and salsa are good. I tend to get the cheese enchiladas which are just okay however my coleagues always get the fajitas and love them.

The service was spot on. The food tasted Great ! Would love to see Red and Green chile sauce like I see in more and more authentic Mexican restaurants. I think it would be a big hit at Rosie's.

This place is a favorite chain in Huntsville, and the food is okay. I can definitely see the appeal of this place. Everything here is done on a large scale. The food is what they seem to pay the least amount of attention to. I would definitely eat here again, but I wouldn't expect to be blown away by the dishes.

  • José A.

Great service, very good food, large portions, and you can't beat the specials they had on beer. I had their "Rosiechanga" the chicken version, and was impressed. Full of flavor, served very fast and very hot, and plenty to leave on the plate. The ambiance is festive and our server was attentive and efficient. If you're in Huntsville, this is a place to visit, at least once.

  • Courtney C.

A Huntsville favorite. It's not really real Mexican food like I find from food trucks in Birmingham, but it is still tasty and has a fun atmosphere. I would recommend Rosie's to anyone.

Great food, good and fast service. Try the frozen Mambo Taxi with sugar instead of salt around the rim.

Had the chicken nachos and the mambo taxi. The food and drinks were excellent. The server was really nice and patient with our party of 12 which consisted of 5 kids! Also has the premium margarita at the end of my meal but it was much to sweet. I have visited both of the restaurant's locations in Huntsville and I have not been disappointed.

In town for business. I used Yelp to find Rosies. The tortillas were handmade, warm and soft and the fajitas were fresh. The service was great. Great atmoshpere. I will be back when I am in Huntsville.

The service was great, but that is my only compliment. Everyone I know loves this place, but I haven't seen what's so appetizing. I was very disappointed when I realized that Taco Bell tasted better to me.

Whenever I stay over in Huntsville for business I always eat in Rosie's. It's consistently very good! Usually I am by myself and eat at the bar and sometimes recognize the bartenders which is a good sign of a good restaurant. I visit only every 6 months or so for work, and I have eaten there about 10 times. Never been disappointed. Mainly I order the fajitas, beef, although sometimes combo with chicken. They are always fresh, and one of the only places that can do well done onions and peppers, without ruining everything else. The condiments are all fresh and large enough portions and even for the price being a little up there the consistentcy to know whenever I go it's very good and the same! Last time there I was sitting next a guy at the bar and he suggested the Rib-eye Steak. Wow! That was a treat. Also have tried one or two other dishes but these are my fav's!

Sorry Yelpers. You missed it on rating Rosie's, The service was good even though the place was really crowded but there is nothing special about the food. Now admittedly I live in the southwest and eat Mexican three or four times a week so maybe I'm a bit peculiar about real Mexican.... but this was a poor attempt. The beef in the enchiladas tasted rehydrated like the stuff you get in prepackaged backpacking food. The cheese was similar to low-fat mild cheddar (ugh). And, what the hell is up with the plates? The waiter gave us the traditional "caution your plate is hot warning" but he failed to say, "don't touch the plate or you'll be spending the evening in the ER getting skin grafts" The enchilada sauce on my plate was literally bubbling. Good grief. A plate should be warm but not used as a cooking device. I've actually had a much better experience at Little Rosie's a couple miles away owned by the same folks.

We've eaten here twice during our visits to Huntsville for youth hockey tournaments. I called a few days in advance to arrange for a group of 17 kids and 20 adults. I was told that it would be no problem, but someone from the group needed to be there an hour before. So that's what I did. When I arrived, I told the host we had a large group coming, went to the bar and had a cold Bohemia and some chips. I saw them gradually clearing an area of the restaurant by not seating any new customers there. In an hour, all of the customers in that area had left and two of the waiters had converted the whole area into a party room for us with nobody else in it. These guys are good! The meal was great and the waiters were attentive and very organized in splitting up the bill. While I was waiting at the bar, the owner came out and spoke with me. Great guy who clearly appreciates his customers. Excellent for groups on short notice. These guys are pros and the food and service are great. A photo from our visit is here: yelp.com/biz_photos/rnYi…

This is a pretty consistent place and always seems to be clean and the wait staff are friendly. However if you are accustomed to Americanized Mexican food then this is the place for you. If your more into authentic Mexican this is not the spot but they are good at what they do. Be careful not to let the droves of soccer moms run you over in this place. ;-)

  • Shanny B.

Yummy, yummy! This is not authentic mexican food, but I don't care. It's freaking good. The chips are always warm and the white queso is a favorite among many. I would recommend the Rosiechangas or the Southwestern Chicken Salad. Huge portions, so the prices seem fair to me. I get two meals out of it. Service is a hit or miss and that's why I only gave 4 stars.

This is what I call "Campbell's Soup Mexican." If you like that, enjoy. I can't. A mile north is Casa Blanca. About three miles south is Gualajara. Rosie's is where a contractor takes you for lunch because you can't be offended by its mediocrity. If you don't like Mexican food, you don't have to worry, cause this isn't it. Edit: I have recently discovered that Rosie's falls under the term "Whitesican."

Rosie's is a really good option for Tex-Mex food in Huntsville. I've been here multiple times over the past 10 years and I can seriously say I've never had a bad experience. I've also been to Rosie's in Florence and the food there was also great. The complimentary salsa and chips is really fresh and tasty, and the other menu choices are good. I recommend the Rosiechanga, but you really can't go wrong here. And the prices are good if my memory serves me correct. As for the negative reviews on this place, yes, this place is not in Texas and the fare is not authentic Mexican. I'm sure there are places in other states that are much better. However, if you're willing to not be a food snob, and want a great restaurant in Huntsville, Rosie's is a good choice.

    (5)
  • Matt S.

Service is usually good here and the environment is nice enough but the food is just blah. No flavor, no spice, bland and boring. If you want decent Mexican food in Huntsville you would do much better to frequent one of the food trucks around town. If you want to get a margarita and hang out with some friends this would be the place.

Slightly more expensive than authentic Mexican food. We're new to Huntsville and wanted to know what the excitement was all about with the natives and Rosie's. We still don't know. I guess if you want Alabama style Mexican, maybe it's good, but for us (I'm a Texan), very unimpressed. House made tortillas is a nice touch. My biggest complaint is the refried beans... What's up with the cumin??? I make beans at home weekly and put cumin in them(Tex-Mex style), but good grief, I think they use industrial size containers of cumin in every batch. Sometimes less is more. My wife likes my beans but she couldn't eat more than two bites of these. We tried Little Rosie's and they must use the same recipe, yuck.

Great food for a great price. Very friendly service. I had 7 in my party, and we all got our food in less than ten minutes from ordering. They have very friendly staff and generously give out tortilla dough to the kids. I really recommend this place.

Ahhhh I absolutely *must* send Rosie's my love from the Big Apple. MMMMMMM. Rosie's, Rosie's... how I love thee. Can I just say that the one place I *always* must go when I come back to Huntsville, whether it was coming in from Washington DC or now from NYC, it is Rosie's. I just love it. Mmmmm. I haven't found a restaurant in DC... nor in Miami... nor in NYC... that can hold up to the fine Mex cuisine I depend on at Rosie's. Oh the white cheese dip... don't bring me that icky Velveeta-y ooey-gooey-ness mess you find at most Mexican places. Yes, I realize that's the Tex-Mex way, but I'll have none of it. I'll have my queso a la Rosie's, por favor. Ah, the upside of Christmas is Rosie's will soon be mine. Until then, adieu...

After a night of trying to figure out where to have dinner, I suggested to my friend "mexican". It's cheap, plentiful and pretty hard to screw up. So he took me here. I should mention that I live in Texas, home of Tex-Mex. That said, I prefer usually spicy food. We showed up and it was pretty steady and took a seat on the patio. Our server was very personable and attentive not to mention suggestive towards the menu, which I always appreciate. I ended up getting the chile con queso for an appetizer *I'm a queso whore*. It was pretty standard but had me searching for the non existent bottle of Cholula. It wasn't bland but could've used a little pick me up. I then ordered a house margarita on the rocks no salt. Our server mentioned to me their 'top shelf' margarita with Cuervo gold and I nearly snickered. It was served in a mug, probably about 12 oz. It was actually pretty darn good and that's always a pleasant surprise. For my entree I bucked the curve and ordered the spinach mushroom enchiladas. I noticed they had a sour cream sauce for their chicken enchiladas and for some reason that escaped me. I also relate sour cream sauce with spicy but when I asked he said it wasn't spicy. The enchiladas were pretty good overall but the sauce they used to me appeared tasted like Pace Picante sauce. You can take this one of two ways. A. It's a potshot towards them and their creativity OR B. They use the highest selling and most recognizable Picante sauce in the industry. The highlight of my entree? The rice and beans. I made sure to let my server know I was NOT a vegetarian, therefore I didn't want or NEED vegetarian beans and rice. They were delicious! I'm a huge stickler for rice and beans at 'mexican' places and they did one solid. Was I super impressed? Not really. Was I satisfied. Absolutely.

  • Steve Y.

Yeah, I know the menu is boring, but I really enjoyed my lunch on 6/29/11. I wasn't looking for any surprises--I just wanted something with cheese. The guacamole was great, the chips were fresh, and I got plenty of yummy cheese on my plate. I also liked the environment, which had plenty of tables inside and a lovely al fresco dining area. This place is so much better than the average Mexican restaurants around Birmingham.

    (4)
  • Kevin D.

The owners of this place "stole" plans from Pappasito's in Dallas. I couldn't believe it. The floor plan, the bar, patio ( the one in Dallas and Houston are bigger. Too bad the food didn't taste the same. Looked nice, came out fast enough, oh yeah ... You forgot the flavor! Half the reviews say the same thing. Bland bland bland. All y'all talking about "it's so great" appearantly have never been to the motherland of Texmex... Texas. I travel all the time and I am apparently just a slow learner... Don't eat Mexican away fom Texas.

  • matt h.

The chips and salsa were good, the tamales were very good, and the prices are fair. The place was packed for lunch on a Wednesday and my hosts told me you usually have to wait for a table, even though the place is huge. Its not the best Mexican food I have had, but it was good enough.

    (4)
  • Dame V.

Rosie's serves consistently good, veg-friendly, albeit fairly mild Mexican food in a comfortable environment. When ordered without cheese, the vegetarian burrito is a good vegan choice, as are the vegetarian fajitas, again ordered without cheese or sour cream. The service is always good, too.

I just came in from San Francisco (which has some of the most authentic mexican places in the country), and this restaurant very enjoyable. The food isn't exactly traditional, but it has a homestyle feel to it and tastes pretty darn good. The staff is really nice, and the drink specials are awesome. Interesting margaritas too, generally for $4. Can't beat that! I also love the colorful lighting and atmosphere.. great place to unwind and have a drink and some good grub.

  • Ed M.

This is one of two Rosie's in Huntsville, and the same goes for both. This is the most overrated Mexican restaurant in town. If atmosphere is more important to you than the food (like it seems to be for most people in Huntsville) then, yeah, this is your place. But if you want good Mexican food, try any number of the Hispanic owned and operated places. They may feel like a hole in the wall, but the food is better and at a better price.

Good mexican food and great service. I would recommend the steak fajitas personally.

  • D D.

Ugh. I just want to tell you, I think that Rosie's is the most overrated restaurant in Huntsville. The lines are long, the food is 'meh' and overpriced. I really can't find anything good to say about this place. Why on Earth anyone would choose to eat here versus Cantina Laredo or even their sister restaurant, Little Rosie's, is just beyond me.

  • Pam T.

We have lived in Huntsville for 15 years and we have always loved Rosies. We've had couple date nights, business dinners and family get togethers there. It has a great atmosphere and the food is consistently excellent. The service has always been wonderful. The only problem is that they don't take reservations or call ahead seating. You have to get there early and plan to wait. On really busy nights we just can't get in. If we don't eat there at least once a month we go into withdrawals and our out of town company always wants to go there when they come to town.

    (4)
  • Dave L.

In a town that has a lot of Mexican resaurants Rosies really stands out. The service was good and the food was great. I've never lived in Mexico so I can't speak to it's authenticity but I've been to TX an CA enough that it easily competes with anything I've had there. They have a good atmosphere and can easily handle larger groups. Good food at a fair price.

I recently moved away from Huntsville and this restaurant is one of the few things I really miss about Huntsville. The food is great, and doesn't taste nearly as cheap as some so-called "authentic" Mexican restaurants. The chips and salsa are some of the best I've had. Top notch place!

I really want to give this place 3 stars, but I need to be honest when it comes to the food. OK let me start off by saying that I am not from the area. In fact I'm from a southwest state and i grew up in New Mexico so I know good Mexican food. At least i think i do. Therefore its always hard to judge a Mexican restaurant in other areas of the country. Anyway I got stuck going to this place today w coworkers from out of state as well. I found it extremely odd that one of them was excited to go here. My response was "I thought we would go somewhere w alabamee food not Mexican". But I got shafted. OK enough work BS. We get here and i have to say very attractive facility. Awesome waitress, friendly staff for sure. I ordered a Corona because they put me in the mood to have one w all the Corona boxes around. Bad mistake, I got a skunk'd one. Therefore all those boxes i thought were decoration, yeah that's where they store the beer. For those that don't know, you have to keep beer at a cool temp in a dark room. Especially for a beer like Corona cause its in a clear bottle. Thats what causes it to taste like we'll what a skunk smells like, which has coined the phrase skunk'd beer. I ordered the pollo loco cause it was the only thing not screaming "business trip sour cream Diarrhea". Then 2nd sign to leave came up and our food came w in a minute or 2 from ordering it. I'm dead serious like no longer then 5 min past. It all look like food from taco beuno and taco bell. It looked pathetic. My chicken tasted like a cross between taco cabanas chicken fajitas and tofu. Yes tufo, the chicken you could tell was boiled and had the texture of tofu. The sides sucked but usually sides of beans and rice do. But there was something about my Mexican rice that get made me feel like I shouldn't be eating it. So I didn't. Also the refried beans should be renamed to once fried then blended and slapped in a tiny taco shell. They flat out sucked. They need to send a couple of there amigos back home and learn to make the most basic side dishes. Luckily I don't live here and i think it's safe to say I will never return. It's a shame because of the awesome hospitality.

I was looking for a quick dinner after a long day. I sat at the bar. Margarita ($5.50), chips, salsa and chile releno ($11.00) were all good. Dinner was set in front of me in less than 5 minutes. It must have been microwaved; but it still worked for me. My bartender/waitress was very attentive.

Yummy! Everything everyone else had said is spot on, but shockingly nobody has mentioned the Mambo Taxis. Can't decide between Sangria and a Margarita? Get a Mambo Taxi and have both in one frosty glass!

Rosie's is a staple for everyone in the community. It's the easiest 'fall back' restaurant in town. It's not authentic Mexican food, but it is delicious none-the-less. The lunch and dinner crowd can be overwhelming, to say the least. Especially the Friday or Saturday evening dinner crowd! You can hear music playing during your meal - it is not Mexican music but rather contemporary American pop music. The music is noticeably too loud at times. This is (my guess) a ploy to get people out sooner. If you attend off peak hours the music creates a pleasant ambiance. If you are there during lunch hour the music volume requires you to speak rather loudly even to those near you...and when 150 people are having to do this it can become quite noisy. The menu contains the typical 'Tex-Mex' items such as: Enchiladas, Tacos, Burritos, Fajitas, Quesadilla, Chimichanga (Rosiechanga) etc. However, you will not find the food made in the authentic fashion. (no Tortas, cabaza etc.) The price is slightly higher than average, but well worth the money spent. Meals average around $10-$14 after tip depending on the items. The waiting staff is incredible. If every restaurant trained their waiters to behave like a Rosie's waiter nobody would eat in! They are courteous and funny. Most of them seem to be of Hispanic (or some form of Latin) decent and are the best group of waiters I've ever experienced. One of my favorite waiters is a gentleman at the South Parkway Rosie's who insists on giving me a hard time when I'm dining with my girlfriend. He is genuinely proper with her - always taking her order first and serving her before me etc. - but he is always sure to poke at me a bit in the process to let me know I'm to wait and treat her like the queen she is. hahaha...such a great time! In conclusion, if you already live in Huntsville this is old news. If, however, you are traveling to, or through, the area this is a can't miss! Nobody visits Huntsville, goes out to dinner, and misses out on Rosie's. I'd be heresy! :P

The local excitement buzzing around this restaurant was palpable when I first arrived in Huntsville. "You just *have* to try Rosie's", they beckoned. So I went. What I found was typical of Huntsville, a city with very little unique culture (Southern or otherwise) and consumerism aplenty. When you first walk in, you realize that this place is massive. Ok, not a hole in the wall, that's fine; I won't judge a book by its cover. It's also covered in gaudy Mexican fare. Ok, pretty standard. The menu was typical "I just want this to be simple, nothing fancy" Mexican food: burritos, tacos, chimichangas, fajitas. And that it was. The margaritas were subpar, the chips and salsa are pre-packaged and not made that day, the food seems microwaved (it arrives so incredibly quick that you can't really expect it to be quality). All in all a very disappointing experience given the hype. Rosie's has pulled a fast one on Huntsville and made it believe that this is what good Mexican is. Also, to the people from NYC and San Fran that rave about this place here: ahahhhahahhaha, give me a break, I know you must have some stake in Rosie's because you could get blackout drunk and stumble around for half an hour in the slums of those cities and find much better food than Rosie's. Open your eyes.

Love their frozen margaritas!!! And they have super good food as well. Have to come every time I visit Huntsville.

First time here we really liked it. The white queso and salsa is sooooo delicious. The service is good and so is the food. There is a beautiful outdoor garden my daughter threw pennies in the fountain. We will DEFINATLEY be back

Food is always great. So many options and the service is great. Favorite restaurant by far!

The Mexican Lasagna is really good. This restaurant is really cool and they got the food out to us very fast. Everything is good!!!!!

  • Thomas K.

  • Hardin H.

  • Tyler C.

While Rosie's has a unique atmosphere and the decorations are pretty authentic, the food was just like you could get at any other Mexican restaurant in Huntsville, if not a little bit more upscale. It was very good, but was really crowded, as this seems to be a popular place for the lunchtime rush.

This place is a favorite chain in Huntsville, and the food is okay. I can definitely see the appeal of this place. Everything here is done on a large scale. The food is what they seem to pay the least amount of attention to. I would definitely eat here again, but I wouldn't expect to be blown away by the dishes.

A Huntsville favorite. It's not really real Mexican food like I find from food trucks in Birmingham, but it is still tasty and has a fun atmosphere. I would recommend Rosie's to anyone.

Absolutely.

I love Rosies so much, we go every Saturday! The best fajitas ever!!!! They serve their fajitas with a garlic butter sauce! YUMMY :) They also have the best salsa ever! I cannot say enough about this place! Awesome food, awesome customer service and extremely quick!

The chips and salsa were good, the tamales were very good, and the prices are fair. The place was packed for lunch on a Wednesday and my hosts told me you usually have to wait for a table, even though the place is huge. Its not the best Mexican food I have had, but it was good enough.

    (2)
  • Lauren S.

Rosie's offers pretty standard chain restaurant Mexican food. It's consistently mediocre. There's something for everyone on the menu and the chips and salsa are good. The decor is nice and it's usually always busy but I don't think there's anything special about the food. Not my go-to choice.

  • D D.

  • Mike G.

  • Rico C.

Yummy! Everything everyone else had said is spot on, but shockingly nobody has mentioned the Mambo Taxis. Can't decide between Sangria and a Margarita? Get a Mambo Taxi and have both in one frosty glass!

I recently moved away from Huntsville and this restaurant is one of the few things I really miss about Huntsville. The food is great, and doesn't taste nearly as cheap as some so-called "authentic" Mexican restaurants. The chips and salsa are some of the best I've had. Top notch place!

Totally worth a visit. Large menu good food great service. Nice decor, homemade tortillas, nice bar, good margaritas. Chili Rellenos my favorite. Always worth a stop when in town.

This place is a favorite chain in Huntsville, and the food is okay. I can definitely see the appeal of this place. Everything here is done on a large scale. The food is what they seem to pay the least amount of attention to. I would definitely eat here again, but I wouldn't expect to be blown away by the dishes.

A Huntsville favorite. It's not really real Mexican food like I find from food trucks in Birmingham, but it is still tasty and has a fun atmosphere. I would recommend Rosie's to anyone.

  • Megan D.

The service was great, but that is my only compliment. Everyone I know loves this place, but I haven't seen what's so appetizing. I was very disappointed when I realized that Taco Bell tasted better to me.

Excellent food. Fast service. My Nephew Chris had four (4) enchiladas and wanted more. We were seated promptly for a busy night, and had a great time.

Absolutely.

  • Tyler C.

While Rosie's has a unique atmosphere and the decorations are pretty authentic, the food was just like you could get at any other Mexican restaurant in Huntsville, if not a little bit more upscale. It was very good, but was really crowded, as this seems to be a popular place for the lunchtime rush.

Be careful not to let the droves of soccer moms run you over in this place. ;-)

  • Thomas K.

  • Hardin H.

I love Rosies so much, we go every Saturday! The best fajitas ever!!!! They serve their fajitas with a garlic butter sauce! YUMMY :) They also have the best salsa ever! I cannot say enough about this place! Awesome food, awesome customer service and extremely quick!

  • Amanda F.

    (2)
  • Lauren S.

Rosie's offers pretty standard chain restaurant Mexican food. It's consistently mediocre. There's something for everyone on the menu and the chips and salsa are good. The decor is nice and it's usually always busy but I don't think there's anything special about the food. Not my go-to choice.

Yummy! Everything everyone else had said is spot on, but shockingly nobody has mentioned the Mambo Taxis. Can't decide between Sangria and a Margarita? Get a Mambo Taxi and have both in one frosty glass!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
