A nice place for Sunday lunch. Think, "New Orleans." They held the doors open for us to come in! Request the lunch menu instead of the dinner menu. My wife and I split a lunch entree, and were still full. Our bill, including tea and Coke, was $24. We could have just ordered a sandwich, to spend less, or ordered a pricier entree, and spent more. They're maybe a bit upscale from Red Lobster, but not as crowded. At 11:45am we were seated immediately. WiFi requires a password.

Server was excellent, establishment had a nice ambiance. The seafood was horrible and over priced. We ordered fish and oysters. Honestly, could've had better food at Long John Silvers. I will never go here again, this location or possibly the chain in general.

I'm not sure if Landry's pissed off the Huntsville food gods or what but they might as well just call it Lemnos Seafood. As long as I've been in, around, and through Huntsville... it wasn't until very recently have I even thought about going. However... Landry's has actually a better-than-expected experience 3 timed in a row for me. Though I see comments about slow or nonexistent service, I'll just say I had the same young lady serving the table each of the three times and she was very attentive and informative. Maybe it's just the rest of the staff. But though this is a chain, they do manage to get *some* of the Southern /Creole influences without being overly dependent on sauces and salts. I've had the grouper, flounder, and even a few of the fried varieties...and everything was good. I'm not saying that this is a substitute for Galatoire's in NOLA but what I am saying is that Landrys is a solid, albeit easily overlooked seafood option in Huntsville.

David the bartender greeted me with a firm handshake as I posted up at the bar. The gesture caught me off guard at first but then I remembered I was in the south so I rolled with it. Had the chicken & sausage gumbo per David's recommendation. So good I thought about ordering a second helping for desert (until my entree showed up). Went with a large pile of blackened seafood. More specifically it was blackened redfish, Crescent City. The many positive yelp reviews on the red fish were spot on and my decision to top it with blackened shrimp, crawfish and crab (they call that option "Crescent City") was the right move. Well worth the extra $6 bucks IMO. The atmosphere was pretty dead considering game 7 of the World Series was on TV (not HD but on flat screens). Then again it is Wednesday night. Bottom line, when work brings me back to Huntsville, as it often does, I will be back at Landry's.

The food is ok, but very $$$. I was not impressed with the quality of the food, but it wasn't bad. Its a more high scale type place, which explains the pricing.

How does this place stay in business, service was always poor, been there three times. Took forever to get out food and the place is always empty. The prices are ridiculously high for mediocre food. The gumbo was awful. It tasted like black been soup with nothing in it and it was warmed up in a microwave. I don't mind going to a pricey restaurant if the food is outstanding but you can find better fare in Huntsville for 1/3rd to half the price. The waiters were nice and friendly though I will give them that. They need to find new kitchen staff and a better chef. I hope they survive.

Ordered the seafood platter. The waiter said the fish was catfish but when he served the meal the fish was Basa.

We finally decided to try them out & it was good! Our server was attentive & good, a tad underwhelmed by the food for what they charge...but, it was absolutely a decent meal! Not sure we'll be back, but it was worth a visit

After getting a taxi driver rave about this place decide to check it out. They open the door for for you as you arrive (and leave), the waitress was very nice and very helpful. the table we sat at was fairly dark except for the spotlight pointed at the middle, making reading the menus difficult. the seaford stuffed jalapeños were pleasant. the oyster po-boy I had, had very few oysters, lots of bread and almost no flavor. my coworker said the hamburger he had was terrible. He took it to go on principle because of the price. Throw in 3 beers and that was nearly a $60 dinner (more with the tip thrown in). and needed Tums when I got back to my hotel. ugh. I won't be back.

We've had great meals there in the past but after today's experience we won't be going back. Although I had a pretty decent crab appetizer, we found the place to be overpriced. My husband had overcooked shrimp etouffe, I tried to eat (but couldn't)weird tasting shrimp gumbo, just a bad experience overall. We should have gotten a clue when the place was mostly empty at lunch time! UPDATE: We were pleased that Landry's management contacted us to discuss our negative experience. We were satisfied that they appreciated our concern and, in light of our conversation, are willing to give them another chance the next time we're in Huntsville.

Good seafood, and good service. Their bartender is also pretty good.

Our family of 4 had dinner there tonight. The food was very bad. The service was not very good at all. Hard to get a drink refill. We ask for bread never received it. We had 4 entrees and an appetizer. Our bill was 140 dollars not including tip. Which we left 20percent anyway. We will never ever go back there again.

Went for Lunch 2 days in a row with different business associates. Good both days. Blackened Redfish was very good. I subbed crab orzo & spinach for the rice and broccoli. Very good.

I read all the reviews before going. Food is pricey... Hello! Blackened Redfish and Crawfish Etouffée with asparagus. Try and get that at Cap'n D's! Service and hospitality was excellent. Managers made the rounds. Food was well prepared and tasted as good as it looked.

We had a good lunch meal for Admin/Secretary's Day. The salad was okay and also the garlic bread. The Artichoke/Spinach dip was good as expected but the chips were a little stale tasting. I had the Red Snapper prepared with Lemon & Garlic Pepper, and that was very good.

Love the food. I just have a recommendation. I hate it when they seat fami,is with children in the bar area, I love going to a nice restaurant and I know people like to take their kids, but for some of us, it is a break and time to be alone with our spouses and to be sitting and having kids turn around to your table and watch you eat is not fun. To pay the price that they charge they should consider their seating better, otherwise I give them five stars, but that was the downside to our romantic dinner,

It was with a less than joyful spirit that I joined Mom and Sis for dinner at Landry's the other day. I think it is because it is off the beaten path, stuck oddly between a couple of chain hotel/motels and a manufactured home (trailor park) and aging elementary school (both are behind Landry's). Sister asked me "who comes here and how do they stay open," as we entered the dark and vacuous dining room on a sunny evening. Me: "maybe some space camp families who are staying at the area hotels? I dunno." Mom LOVES their crab cakes, so I was all set to "take one for the team." I turned out pleasantly surprised! The hostess and servers were kind and all smiles! The menu was varied. The only reason I'm not giving more stars is for the price point. I think 8.00 is a little high for a side of asparagus, although their online menu says it is 6.00, which it may be. I still think 6.00 is a little high for a side of asparagus. Or maybe I'm just hung up on asparagus! A French garlic bread and melted butter is immediately brought to the table, and ours was piping hot. Mom went with the blue crab cake starter (13.50) - and loved it! She was reminiscing of past years when we went to Landry's for Mother's Day. That was sweet! Sister went for the crab cake starter, too, a cup of gumbo, and garlic sautéed spinach. I tasted my sister's crab cake and gumbo, and they were pretty darn good! Especially the crab cake! I could swear there was only one crab cake per plate, but it was full of lump crab. We googled "blue crab" and since it is such a beautiful creature, maybe one 3.5 inch crab cake warrants the 13.50 price point. I opted for the Andouille-pepper jack grits side (3.00) which was good, a fabulous value (as I had left overs to enjoy at work), and a garlic sautéed spinach (4.00). The grits could be elevated by using bigger chunks of the sausage, but they were good grits, not over creamy as they sometimes are and the spinach was good, not too garlicky. Mom got a good chuckle out of the dish named "oyster bar trash," so that was fun her enjoy the name of the dish, but we didn't try it. Our drinks were replenished in a timely fashion and "go" boxes were pleasantly provided for leftovers. Oh, and the handicapped parking was not very handy. They *have* handicapped parking it is just located to the right of the entrance at the end of a long wheelchair ramp. So, Landry's thanks for sticking around HSV for as long as you have. Thanks for making a memorable family time for us!

Not the greatest food. Ordered a fish taco and the poor thing came with almost no salsa. Asked for more if the "coleslaw" that was in thw tacos, and they sent me raw cabbage.... poor vision in the kitchen... Bar service was good but the food disappointed.

showed up at 7 on a Saturday night. sat at the bar where there was a manager and a bartender working after being ignored for several minutes and hearing the manager attempt to "coach" the bartender I was asked if I would like a drink. I received my water and a menu. About 30 seconds after that I was asked what I wanted to order. Never being there before I asked for a little more time. The bar was not busy at all about 10 people total. After i finished my glass of water, reading the menu three times front and back, checking facebook, instagram, playing a game or two of scamble the barteneder returned to ask what I wanted to order. Glass of water still empty after ordering I wated for 15 minutes for my sald. Got more water and food came about 1/2 hour later. The food was decent. My total time from sitting down to getting back into my car was over two hours for water, salad, two veggies and a blackened piece of fish. I almost and should have walked out several times.Terrible service

Great place to eat and the staff was attentive. Steak and baked potato were perfectly cooked and delicious. I did the Yelp checkin and they offered their signature dessert which was wicked good! Their menu is primarily seafood focused but there are a few diversions - pasta based dishes, few salads & sandwiches. Nice decor also. Lighting was limited at the tables and if you have difficulty reading in lower light make sure you have a flashlight app on your phone to read the menu and the bill :)

Very friendly service and delicious food . We had the seafood platter which was more than I could bargain for. I left Landry's satisfied and with a smile on my face. And the best part of all was I enjoyed a free Banana Foster dessert just for checking in on Yelp.

I'm from Maryland and being around the Chesapeake Bay most of my life I can say I know what a real "Maryland crab cake" should look and taste like. When I asked for the crab cake to be taken off the bill after only one bite the manager was less then enthusiastic. The rest of the seafood was okay but nothing seemed to justify their high prices.

The food is definitely good. The service is top notch. But I do have to say the prices are high. It is a nice place but the food is overpriced.

The food quality has really gone down over the years. Servers are nice but there are some "unique" rules on whether the manager is the only one allowed to retrieve a wine bottle from the locker.

Pretty good dinner. Nothing overly special. Good bananas foster though!!

Kind of a fun type atmosphere, enjoyable enough. The food is not up to the quality you would expect but except able. Over all I would give it a four star rating.

We are temporarily living in the area and had dined at this restaurant but were disappointed in the food but decided to try it again. We are so happy we did! The fish specials were fantastic! I had mahi mahi on crusted risotto in a citrus orange sauce and my husband had breaded tilapia with a tasty shrimp with cheese and a sauce. The service was wonderful, the white table clothes and quiet atmosphere was wonderful! I would highly recommend this restaurant and we will visit again. You won't be disappointed!

I ordered the shrimp po boy sandwich and it was really good. I came here with a very large group and I must say that the service was fast. The customer service was great too!! I would definitely eat here again.

Man, did I have a craving for king crab legs this weekend. So wifey and I went to Landry's. The place wasn't crowded so we were seated immediately. While sitting waiting for our server to arrive my wife comments that the place had a real smokey smell. Then I remember hearing the restaurant had a fire recently. I whip out the trusty smart phone and yeah, they had a fire there just a few weeks earlier and had to close the restaurant. I would think they would have at least gotten rid of the smoke smell before reopening. So the server comes and gives us the menus. King crab legs $43.00 for a pound and a quarter of legs!!!! Holy Crap. Out comes the smart phone and did a search for their competitor on University near the parkway. They offered one and a half pounds of king crab legs for $26.99. Well between the price difference and the smokey smell, we left. Sorry Landry's maybe next time.

Not impressed. The food is mediocre. I was so disappointed in my dish after waiting a very long time, that my husband swapped with me and I ate his rather than wait any longer for them to redo mine. The fish was supposed to be grilled, which it was, but then it was swimming in oil.....uh ,I would have ordered it fried had I wanted a bunch of fat with my fish!

I have no idea how this place stay in the business! They're never overflow with people (based on cars in the parking lot) and they were pretty much dead on a Saturday night. Their food is EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE, for same old chain restaurant taste. The food was edible but not for the right price. The apitizer was very small. Kudos was their wait staff is nice and courtesous...

  • Simone F.

Good service, but terribly soulless, unremarkable corporate sea food. I think the reason they do so well is the fact that they're the only place that stays open late. Not cheap, either.

I just returned from this place and my impression of Landry's is not good. Rubbery shrimp , dry fish and high prices. What are these people thinking? I can get better food at Applebees for half the price for goodness sake! I gave them an extra star for great service, but that's about all I liked about this place. They should be ashamed to serve food of such poor quality. SHAME!!!!!!!

Was brought here by a supplier for dinner. I had a the blackened red fish with the crawfish etouffe special. I thought it was really good. Its a nice seafood restaurant with nice friendly service. Prices are similar to McCormick and Schmick's back home so..its not so high to me like some of the people here are saying.

Never made it to dinner. We sat for 10 minutes without getting our drink order. The menu left much to be desired. All sorts of fried shrimp, but not much else. The noise was very loud also. I would think they would invest in some sound proofing. It was impossible to talk across the table and hear anything. Would not go back.

Went here last week. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere. I was looking forward to some good seafood. The waitress was nice, but the food was another story. I first started with a large bowl of seafood gumbo. It was burnt. Barely edible. Based on this, I did not have high expectations for the rest of the meal. Next up was a salad. It was good. Not spectular though. Time for the main entree; angel hair pasta with seafood. It was a large portion of food. Lots of pasta, and lots of seafood. So the quantity was there, but the quality was lacking. The pasta simply didn't have enough flavor. It was really something I felt I could have made myself. The food is pricey here too for what you get. This place reminded me an overpriced Red Lobster. With a little more class. So in summary, forget this place and go to Bonefish instead!
