First and last visit...Went in with my mom and we both were repulsed at what they call a cheeseburger. The meat(if you can call that meat) was the cheapest meat they could get...rubbery and jumpy with almost the same taste and texture of a Salsberry steak banquet meal. Then they decided to grill there burger buns...I don't know why because when I received my old horse "cheeseburger" the bun was completely soggy. They picked there nastiest sauce and poured a 1/2 cup(not exaggerated) of it on top...it was messy and nasty and over $7 for the meal. Just don't go there people... Go next door to Burger King... It taste like they use filet mignon compared to Milos meat... There fries and tea were good, but that's it.

Ok. I struggle a bit with good ole Milo's. I've been eating at Milo's pretty much all my life. Oh how good those burgers and sweet tea used to be. For so many years. And yet today's Milo's is just a shadow of its former self, a victim of modernization. Today, the tea is no longer served fresh in the restaurants. You could always taste the difference between what was served in the restaurants and what was sold in the grocery. Now it all tastes like the grocery stuff. Like old tea. And today burgers are just wrong. No more is there that extra little piece of a patty on every burger. And the sauce which used to be made fresh in each store giving a bit of inconsistency that varied from location to location is now a gelatinous, bland goo with none of the richness of the original. It's consistent now but consistently bad. The fries have changed little if at all. The pies are good. My kids like the chicken and my mother will drive across town to find a location that is still serving the peach milkshake. But how I long for the Milo's of old. Simple. Fresh. Yummy.

After waiting 5 mins and watching no less than 9 employees stand around and talk without addressing me, I left. Good luck to you if you want a burger here. To be honest I'd skip this whole exit and keep going.

Burgers were different. Sauce was OK but a little too drippy. Sweet tea and peach pies were really great!

Milo's? Try Mi-NO's!!!! The Worst fast food I've ever experienced . Think school cafeteria hamburger circa 1975. The meat contest was won by Billy who guessed "some kind of beef material". Pretty sure pink slime is a staple of the "meat". What is that sauce????? It's kind of lime BBQ sauce crossed with packaged brown gravy.... Uck! The Krinkle fries have some strange orange "fry salt" on them that makes them 250% more salty than any fry ever made. Ok, there's also paprika but you'll never taste it and.....Why?!?!? Finish with a tasteless fried peach pie (I think I might have tasted peach, not sure), and you have the trifecta of horrible. Avoid..... Seriously..... Avoid.

Milo's is, in my opinion, the greatest hamburger place that has ever existed. I love Milo's so much that the last time I visited Alabama I got the Milo's logo tattooed on my right calf. I love every single location. GREATEST BURGERS EVER!!!

Wait...they changed their chicken fingers! My husband is super disappointed. He says they taste like Jack's chicken fingers now and he wants Milo's chicken fingers back. Me? I think they're delicious because they taste more like Jack's chicken fingers. (just not as 'spicy') They've also added additional sauces for the fingers. A mayo based chicken sauce, buttery buffalo, and ranch. AND NOW...cole slaw! They've got cole slaw and it was really good. Finely chopped cabbage, lots of mayo, a little kick. Love this location too because the staff is always so friendly.

Dear God, what I would give to go back in time and avoid ever eating at this place. We were driving up through Alabama and needed a quick place to eat so we figured we'd try it out. The sauce was far from special. The fries were not "seasoned" so much as just covered in an unholy amount of salt that was for some unknown reason a bright orange. The burgers tasted more like an unsavory salsbury steak than a hamburger patty and there are very few toppings offered. Pickles, grilled onions, and Milo's "special" sauce come standard with the optional addtion of cheese. The strawberry shake was also less than satisfactory. The artificial strawberry flavoring was overpowering and left an unpleasant aftertaste. 3 hours later and I am still tasting that Milo's burger and I didn't even like it the first time around. Oy. I don't see the appeal. Maybe it's a southern thing but it wasn't for me.

I have been eating at Milo's for over 55 years. The first time, when I was a kid, the price was 5 for a dollar! Milo was cooking on the flattop, I watched from a counter stool in the tiny 10th ave north store, and he was cooking perfect burgers! The extra meat bytes came about because the patties, starting with fresh hamburger, were pounded into submission by Milo as his wife added onions and sauce. Now, when I visit B'ham, I long for the taste of a good Milo's hamburger. I have tried several locations and the next is worse than before. This time, the Greensprings location served up a burger that had meat that tasted like the poorest quality hamburger imaginable. If that were not bad enough, it even tasted old, on the verge of being spoiled. The fries were limp and salted to the point that they burned the tongue. Also as reported by others, the tea was old. Of course, they was about on par with the bone particles I got in a burger at the Vestavia/Hoover store! If that doesn't point to pink slime, I don't know what does. How hard is it to find a meat supplier that actually uses beef? How hard is it to teach the staff to throw out fries that have been hanging around in the bottom of the fry tray getting limp and more salty with each new batch. It really is a shame. Even after the first franchise appeared, while not quite the original, it was very good. Maybe the owners don't care today. They obviously don't eat the products they sell! Maybe they should!

First time and last visiting Milo's. The burger tasted like soy meat! No flavor! The fries were to salty. The ice tea was the only saving grace. The place was very busy. So I'm guessing its a southern thing. Love the south but not there burgers!

If you are not from Alabama, this is a must. No burger like it anywhere on earth, and I have been all over the world. I like mine with grilled onions-no pickle. They come standard with sauce, onions (diced and uncooked) and pickle. The grilling of the onions is a must for me as I usually do not like onions at all, but the grilling caramelizes them and makes them go perfectly with the one of a kind sauce. It is my greatest weakness.

This is the best fast Food Hamburger Place in the World. I stop at Milo's every time I get back into town. In fact this is one of the first places I stop when I get into Birmingham. Come on we all know that "Everyone Goes to Milo's. " I have eaten at several Milo's Locations in my time... The Gardendale location is the best. They have the greatest staff. The best hamburgers and the place is always spotless clean. I even complained about one of the cooks drinking a drink in the back. The manager turned around and said that is the store manager. She went write up to him and handle the situation. I got a free coupon out of it and an apology. But the most significant part to me was the way the employee confronted the boss and was not scared to do so. I think that shows a caliber of employee they hire and the company culture. Every time I go to Milo's I see the same people behind the counter. That is reassuring to me that they take care of their employees. So that makes me believe that is why you don't see toothless drug dealers who just work their because the state forces them too. So take it from a veteran of lots of burgers. Go to Milo's your will not be disappointed with a great hamburger, fries, and a sweet tea. This place sets the bar for the competition.
