My husband and I ate there last night 12-26-2014 about 8:30-9pm. We both had the baked chicken risotto. I didnt even make it home before I was having my husband pull over and getting sick. I just figured it didn't set well with my stomach. But then, at 2am my husband is up puking his guts up well. I believe we got food poisoning. I called the manager this morning to let her know what had happened and she basically called me a liar. Told me the food was made fresh that morning and usually food poisoning doesn't hit you that quick and blah blah that they did everything right and maybe I just had a virus or it was something I had ate earlier in the day. Well, I may considered that if my husband and I didn't eat and get sick off the SAME thing! She was very rude, dismissive and inconsiderate and made no effort doing right by me. I won't return and she didn't seem to care she was losing a customer.

Best meatballs I have ever had. Pizza is great, best in town. Chicken Piccatta is phenomenal. Great place, great restaurant, great people. I wrote this review in order to balance the reviews out. Upon reading the other reviews, the low ones did not give this place a fair score.

Had pizza & calzone. Good food! Tiny restaurant. Most had to wait for a table. Couldn't figure out the booths! They should've cut the tables in half & made the seats people sized instead of fit for giants. They were hard wooden benches with an uncomfortable lip on the edge that digs into your legs. It was so stinkin loud in there that I couldn't even talk to my husband. I could hardly eat my food because I just felt like I had to get out of there from all the noise! This says a lot considering I'm an elementary teacher, and I'm accustomed to craziness! Not a good experience.

Great food, and friendly service. Have had their pizza, pasta and calzone, all were excellent. My only suggestion, an online menu for take out orders.

I have eaten here 4-5 times and it has been excellent except for occasion in which my food was not cooked properly. However the manager was quick to give me the meal for free due to the issue and I would gladly eat there again. It's the best Italian Gadsden has to offer.

Have eaten here twice recently. First time was on a Sunday for the daily special of meatloaf and spicy green beans. We were seated quickly at a large table and had a very attentive waitress. The free bread sticks with the olive oil/herbs/parmesan cheese was tasty. The meatloaf portion size was large and more than enough for 2 meals which is nice. It was spicy with sausage as the main meat. The spicy green beans were very acidic and had too much lemon in it...all you could taste was lemon. This was mentioned to the waitress who in turn informed the owner who then told the chef. Nice to see the follow through. The Chad's pizza was good. The second time was this past Friday night, arrived around 630pm and waited for about 25-30 min to be seated. The seating in the restaurant is severely lacking. If large groups show up....they slide all of the middle tables over to them, and then there aren't many tables left for everyone else in the restaurant. Upon being seated, we waited several minutes until a young waitress came up and said she didn't know he was supposed to be serving us....her personality was flat. We ordered the Chicken Piccata and the Buffalo Chicken pizza. We waited again quite a while for the bread sticks and we were starving....they arrived with no parmesan in the oil. We waited quite a long time for the food to arrive.....which they brought the pizza out first and the chicken pasta didn't arrive to the table till about 10 min later. The pizza is fantastic....just needed more buffalo cream sauce but it was delicious. Definitely would recommend it and order it again. The chicken dish arrived......very SMALL portions which was a shock after the large meatloaf portion the first time. The plate was piping hot with steam billowing out over the chicken......like when someone puts food in a MICROWAVE! The chicken was supposed to be sauteed but it was soggy and gooey on the outside....the texture of the chicken was not good which I think was bc it was microwaved although the waitress denied it. The pasta had a very watery lemon liquid/sauce on it. I honestly only ate it bc I was starving....but it was THE WORST CHICKEN PICCATA I HAVE EVER HAD anywhere! I was offered another dish but it would have taken another 20-25 min to wait for that food also. We had originally wanted to order dessert but at this point, we were just ready to leave. At least the waitress was able to take the chicken off of the tab which was the right thing to do but it would have been nice to have had the manager or owner come over to the table to address the issue personally. So, sadly.....this "Italian" restaurant that we all had high hopes for in a town with NO Italian options doesn't seem to know how to truly do Italian pasta dishes correctly....which should be the focus and pride of any true Italian restaurant. I'm afraid this "Italian" restaurant is going to turn out to be just another good pizza place......SO....if you want good pizza, come here....if you want true authentic Italian pasta dishes.....keep looking elsewhere. Oh, and if you are looking for a intimate, romantic Italian setting....this is not the place.

I eat here quite regularly and really enjoy their salads, pizzas, and calzones. The salads are a good value ($6.95), they are entree sized and perfect to share as an appetizer. They aren't stingy with the toppings, especially on the greek salad. The pizza is also excellent, and a steal of a deal at Lunch ($5.50 for a specialty)! There is a wide variety of toppings and sauces to choose from, and many specialty pizzas that are interesting and unique. The calzones are also made with the same thin dough, which is great. I hate it when you can't enjoy the filling because it seems like all you have is bread - not the case here! The marinara dipping sauce is really wonderful and fresh. Having said all that, I have tried some of the chicken entree dishes and felt disappointed each time. They all seemed to lack flavor, punch, or something. Stick with the "tomato sauce type Italian" options and you definitely won't be disappointed! The service here is good, it is not exceptional, but it is not bad either. I have noticed a lot of reviewers saying that the service was bad or that people were rude to them, and I would take exception to that. This is not the sort of restaurant where someone comes by and dusts the crumbs off your table after every bite ;) If that's what you're looking for you'll need to drive to Birmingham. The ambiance is the same, it's not great, but it's not bad. It could be greatly improved by getting smaller booths - they are huge - so that people could speak more quietly and have a more cozy experience. It's a small local restaurant and everything does seem to be made to order, so the food doesn't come out as fast as it might at a chain restaurant. There also aren't that many tables, so you may have to wait if you come at a busy time. Overall this is a lovely little place that offers food and flavors you can't find elsewhere in Gadsden (at a good price) and I am happy it is here.

I have been a regular here since they first opened. This is exactly what Gadsden needed. All of the employees there are always so sweet & the service is great. The manager, herself, is so kind. She constantly has a smile on her face & is always checking on everyone. The portions here are huge, especially for the low price, which is quite nice. I pretty much always get the cheesy bread app, then the fettuccine with sausage, instead of chicken. I will def be back again soon :)

I personally had a bad experience here at Tre Ragazzi's. It was all fine until my mother found a pretty decent sized hair in her food a couple of minutes into the meal. The waiter took note of this and took my mother's and father's plates away due to the fact they lost their appetite. Around five minutes later, the manager came to our table and asked about the complaint. When my mother told her, she replied "We dont have any waiters that have long hair.", which I picked off as a little rude, but that is me. The food at best was okay, not worth the price. All our meals were free, due to this incident, and we left. On his way out, my father was stopped by the cook who prepared the meal. He apologized about the meal. So with that, I am giving this a 2 out of 5 stars, since the food was okay, snappy manager (in my opinion), and polite employees

Visited here again, and my companions had the Chicken Marsala and Sausage & Peppers. Rave reviews on both, and that's saying a lot considering that one of them is super picky about everything she eats. My pizza, as usual, was excellent. Everything these people serve is homemade and freshly prepared upon ordering. Delizioso!

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
