My first notice of this place came last fall. We were driving down the road and I smelled hickory smoke. I started salivating. Later, I figured out that it had come from what looks like a shed in the parking lot of a place that sells outbuildings and storm shelters. Shady, but it smelled so good I had to check it out. Basically, it's a take-out place. You could eat there, on a picnic table, but you would probably prefer to take it with you. Their specialty is hickory smoked meat - your options are Boston Butt ($30), Rack of Ribs ($18), Whole Chicken ($9), Bologna ($6), Cabbage ($5), or Smokin' Stew ($6/qt). We got a Boston Butt. It was huge, so it lasted the two of us for about 5 meals over the weekend. It was also the most delicious pork I've had in Alabama, period. My mouth is watering just thinking about how good it was. This is something that I will definitely be back for, especially if we have people over. The guy that was working there when we went was really nice (Jeff), and got us our food very quickly. They do credit card transactions on their iPad, so you can use your plastic even though it looks like a cash only establishment. They're only open Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, and they close up at dark or when they sell out, whichever comes first, so if you want it, you'd be advised to go sooner rather than later. Highly recommended!

We were visiting friends in Florence where my wife grew up. We noticed a shed with stacks of hardwood with a sign indicating they sold bbq. We stopped in search bbq sandwiches, but found they sold only bbq boston butts and slab of ribs. We bought the ribs for $20 cash. They wrapped it in aluminum foil. The meat was fall-off-the bone tender with a deep smokey flavor. Very similar to corky's ribs in memphis, but without the dry rub or sauce. This is a pure smoked meat, reductionist style. Simple and good. They have Take out bulk bbq only; it is too bad they don't offer seating or sandwiches. It is not clear if they have sauces. I will find out when I go back. It is Good enough to have them ship you their bbq.

Nice folks! The bbq is good, as well as the smoked cabbage. I got the smoked bologna once, it was om but kind of salty. Overall I like their food, very good!

Our office orders from here a few times a month. Love the smoked cabbage, smoked bologna and pork loin. Must try this place if you haven't yet

I eat at Smokin on the Blvd every week. All of their food is wonderful and the customer service is top notch! If you have not eaten here give it a try you will not be disappointed!

My husband's work brought us to Florence. Living in NC I have had alot of good bbq. I couldn't wait to try some Alabama bbq. I researched reviews for the area's best bbq. I decided to try this place out. I ordered a whole butt and a half beef brisket. The aroma in my truck was to die for. Couldn't wait till I could open and taste. If I could give this place a 10 star I would!!! There are no words at this moment to describe how delicious and moist the meat was. I felt the prices were right on par for what you get. The owner's you can see take pride in their bbq and customers. Diners drive ins and dives need to check this place out. I will order again before I leave Alabama. I highly recommend to all

I love the food from here. I got a boston butt from them last night and it was great! My husband and I ate what we wanted and then put up 7 bags for the freezer. I have done this a few a times and the meat tastes great then too! I also had a smoked turkey from them for Thanksgiving and it was also delicious. We plan on doing it again this year. Great food, highly recommended!
