We discovered Sunflower Cafe almost a year ago when we were traveling back from Gulf Shores to Oklahoma City and have been back about 6 times now - every time we're in the area. We drive almost an hour to come here, the food is that good. We came today (Sunday) not realizing they didn't have their regular menu but a brunch menu instead. At first we were disappointed but once we tried their vegan breakfast burrito, wow, it knocked our socks off! We've never had anything at Sunflower Cafe that wasn't terrific - the hummus, the soup, the wraps, the pastas... everything is wonderful. Perhaps as good as the food is one of the wonderful young people who work there, Rufus. Rufus is so personable. When we were there for our second visit, 3 months after we'd been there the first time, Rufus remembered us and even remembered our son who had been with us the first time. We struck up a conversation with him then and now it feels like going to visit an old friend every time we come by. If every restaurant had that kind of person working for them who had that kind of customer service, they'd never get a bad review. We will keep coming back to Sunflower Cafe as often as we can and we hope Rufus is always there to visit with us!

Probably a decent place for lunch but we went for dinner and were disappointed. Service was good but food was not worth the price. Hummus was very good but the entrees were not. The ginger stir fry was something I could have made at home. My wife had the special which was lemon wasabi seared tuna and was overcooked and under flavored. Key lime pie was very good.

Probably only a "A-OK" three star place in many places with more veggie-friendly competition. Veggie sandwich pretty good. Nice atmosphere. Has a BBQ place in same building (and a deli) which is nice for a group of different tastes visits.

It's slim pickings in Baldwin County, when it comes to vegetarian/vegan food. Sunflower Cafe is like a star in an otherwise darkened sky, a beacon of healthy, handmade food that is a pleasure to eat, and to visit. We shared the hummus and pita first, before moving on to our tasty entrees. I had a tempeh/quinoa plate that made me feel like I was at home in Seattle. My lunch companions, none of whom are veg, were all enjoying different things, pasta, black bean burger, portabello, you name it. We somehow saved room for dessert, mine being a massive slab of vegan carrot cake that was dense and cool, like the Olympic rainforest. Can you tell I was a little homesick? Man, that cake was something else. Support this little gem, and the neighboring grocery/health food store, and your body and soul will thank you.

I just dropped in to see what they had and was very happy I did. The staff was very friendly and the music was great. The food was fantastic. They even serve filtered water. I know this isn't a big deal but it is to me. I had a crab stuffed portobello mushroom and it was Devine. I'm not a vegetarian but I could be if I could eat at the sunflower cafe. I will definitely go back.

The food is excellent here as well as the service! I really enjoyed my meal and the suggestions of the waiter were excellent (chicken sausage in the burrito instead of tofu was a great idea and the breakfast pizza was amazing! I almost ordered another one as my meal!). The wasabi bloody Mary was an awesome way to wash down my meal and the healthy choices made me feel better about what I was eating. I'm not a vegetarian by any stretch of the imagination but I appreciate a menu that allows for heathy choices to traditional types of meals. We have been looking forward to going back for a while now, if their lunch is as good as their breakfast choice then this will be one of our favorite places to go anytime. Atmosphere is casual and prices are OK for fresh made healthy food.

Skip the Hardies across the shopping center for something that will make you feel good during and after. Really nice woman waiting on me. McCartney coming from the speakers. I had the jerk chicken wrap. First bite I knew I found an awesome place to eat. Healthy, fresh and TASTY! Give them your business so they don't go anywhere. Cafe's like this are far and in between.

Healthy, vegetarian friendly food in Mobile! Very impressive menu, and this is coming from a health-conscious vegetarian who lives in Los Angeles. The service is great. The food is fantastic. and you're already in Virginia's Health Food store so after your meal you can grab some great groceries! Try the spinach-artichoke dip... you wont be disappointed.

This place is part of Virginia's Health Food! My Mom used to drag my sister and I here as kids to get whole grain bread and fresh-ground, natural peanut butter. I still remember the smell! I was, and am totally a fan! Fresh, natural, wholesome goodness. On whole grain bread. And a glass of Pinot Grigio! It's what the big girls drink with lunch! The ladies and I opted to start with their fresh hummus of the day, which was Sun dried tomato, and delicious! Served with wheat pita triangles. Win! I then had one of the sandwiches of the day- turkey with stuff. Not as memorable, but good and good for you, too. The comfortable, casual atmosphere is a great spot for catching up with old friends without feeling the pressure to vacate the table as soon as you've finished eating. Love it!

The food is awesome! I wish Mobile had more places like this to eat. The food is good, fresh and healthy. If you live in Mobile or if you are just visiting I highly suggest trying this place.
