Yes, I've experienced better. It's not my kind of BBQ. Being from Texas I love BBQ, BUT I didn't feel that Larry's BBQ was very good. I had the beef, pork, and ribs platter with BBQ beans and fried okra. Lacking from the menu are sausage links and brisket which made me wonder, but back to the review... The beef was not brisket ( never assume... ) was dry and it felt more like a thick cut of roast beef and it was dry. The pork was not flavorful. Once again it seemed like a thick deli cut of pork. I was thinking of pulled pork, but I it wasn't.... The ribs were not fall of the bone good. Greasy and chewey. The beans were good and the okra was really good, but a good side dish a good restaurant does not make. Maybe it's my high hopes for good BBQ in the South, but I did not enjoy my meal, they do have big portions so you'll never leave hungry, but that's not what I'm eating BBQ. Quality over quantity!

As far as BBQ goes it is not but try the baked stuffed potato, or salad bar and for friendly staff Marty, or Liz or Jenn are great

This was the worst food I have had. There was no sign of a "PIT" for the BBQ. My wife ordered shrimp because the lack of a real pit, and it was frozen pre-cooked and tasted terrible. I will never go back to a Larry's again.

A few months ago I went through the drive through and ordered a pork sandwich with fries. Got home and had literally 6 french fries. 6 fries?! The sandwich wasn't good and they forgot my sauce on the side. It was expensive, too! I haven't gone back. Enterprise Larry's is much better and way less stingy with portions.

My husband and I went here an hour before closing so they were out of some of the more popular sides (mac n cheese, mashed potatoes) which was understandable. We got the marinated chicken plate with corn and french fries... this chicken was soooo freaking moist and delicious! It wasn't what we thought we were ordering (my husband wanted smoked chicken, next time we'll ask before we place our order) but we were definitely NOT disappointed. The lady at the drive-thru window even asked us if we wanted something to drink while we were waiting for our chicken to be cooked... maybe getting there so late in the day was a good thing since they made the chicken fresh? I don't know but either way I would definitely go here again and try something else.

Larry's is quick and close to my work...that is about it. I prefer "pulled" bar-b-q and theirs is sliced. The green beans are over cooked and greasy, the fried okra and other sides all seem to be prepakaged or frozen. There are 2 things that I do like there however, I like the Larry's Special which is a salad with smoked meat on it (I ask to have them leave off the relish) and the baked potato with smoked meat and cheese. Both are very good most of the time, but sometimes the potato is over cooked.

This place came recommended by someone and based on the quality I was served I knew to not trust anymore of his recommendations. I will say my chicken was decent, but the sides were definitely from a can and my friend's chicken was a little too pink and my other friend's ribs were dry. Needless to say I will not be going back if I ever find myself in the area again.

Ok BBQ. The meat was tender but lacked flavor. The two sauces were ok but nothing spectacular. The slaw was very good as were the baked beans.

It's sad when the BBQ up in New England is better than the BBQ in the south. The atmosphere is not bad for a BBQ place, the servers are very fast and friendly but the food is plain and boring for BBQ. The ribs are small, the meats are sliced (not pulled) and the sides are small and unseasoned. If you want a quick lunch this is the place to go but if you want tasty BBQ I recommend you look elsewhere.

I am starting to wonder what is wrong with people down here. The restaurants in the hillbilly town I came from in Ohio were so much better. I got the ribs and chicken. The ribs were dry and chewy, yet greasy at the same time. Chicken was just ok. Meal came with fries, slaw, and garlic bread. I can almost guarantee that all three were "previously handled frozen for your protection." I may try one of their pulled pork or beef sandwiches before writing them off completely, but I can't guarantee anything.

I've been in Alabama for several weeks and I finally got a taste of good ole' southern BBQ Alabama style. It's the middle of the work week and for lunch would usually venture out to get Thai or Korean (which surprisingly are plentiful here in southern Alabama of all places!), but today decided to finally get some BBQ. Restaurant is a quick 7-8min drive from Fort Rucker Daleville entrance and was fairly easy to find. Not much to the entrance, upon entering it had a simple decor and felt like a mom and pop cafeteria. There was an opening like in a diner where the waiters and waitresses pick up the food and you can see through into the kitchen area. There was not really a hostess at front so it was a seat yourself kind of place. What makes up for ambience though is the food. As far as lunch is concerned, the portion side was pretty adequate. You can get a plate lunch that consisted of either pork or beef along with two sides. I had the pork and sides of fried squash and mac n cheese. Pork was cooked very well and was still tender, and was quite good with the BBQ sauce (and as usual they had right at the table regular, spicy, and hot options). They provided two pieces of toast that is smoldering with butter...making a BBQ pork sandwich that was simple yet really appetizing. The fried squash was quite tasty, the mac and cheese was not amazing, but it complemented the meal well. All this and a soda for around 10 bucks...not bad. I had an urge for southern BBQ and Larry's did the trick....if you are watching what you eat or into healthy eating, obviously this is not the place...BUT it's a good way to spend a "cheat" day if you got one of those in your diet. Would definitely come back again for the good food.

This place used to be good, but now I won't step back into the place. Seems like they can't keep up the stores, they need to close a few and focus on the food.

There are many negative reviews here and for the most part they aren't untrue. Not the best BBQ... not even close, and definitely not Big Daddy's (closed Sun). The staff is a little ruff (but not scary ruff)... and not the most courteous (called me dude and buddy... I'm at least 20 years older than the lad). BUT, for $10 (w/ tip) I had a very sizable portion of pork (sandwich) and two sides with endless refills (including to go). So is it comparable to southern BBQ? No. But let's compare to other places. Would I eat here over BK, McDonalds, Taco Bell or Subway? YES, YES, YES and YES. The food was definitely all right. Sauces won't win a competition but aren't bad, fries were good and baked beans tasty enough to finish. As for the staff... ITS DALEVILLE, AL. Were you expecting yuppy college students to be waiting on you? Note: all workers appeared to have full sets of teeth.

I came here once and I'll never return. I don't understand why this place is so popular the pork was so flavorless and the texture was equally bad. I had to pour on so much of that sauce just to make it edible. And yet I always see the parking lot full. I guess that'll remain a mystery.

Below avg 2 star is well deserved. Without fail their ribs are dry everytime.

its good but not great. the ribs are cooked well and have a great smoke taste. the sides are well seasoned and fit the bill for the combinations of meats ordered. the price was really high compared to other BBQ places i have been to. the sweet tea was also good but not comparable to Big Daddy's Sweet tea. would i eat there again? no, once was enough.

I have eaten at this restaurant at least five times. I have been severely disappointed all five times. The breakfast bar is a joke, the bar-b-q is bland, overcooked meat. I will not be back. The Larry's in Ozark, is much better!

An affront to everything southern barbeque represents. The meat looked and tasted like it come out of a laboratory rather than off an animal. I had to douse it in sauce to make it palitable. The people working there could not have looked anymore disinterested in the product they were putting forth. The sad thing is that Larry's has the Daleville market cornered so they really don't need to try any harder. #disgusting

Worst restaurant experience in my 66 years. Could not eat the food. The waitress with the scary homemade tats was disengaged and provided terrible service. It was Sunday so we couldn't go to Big Daddy's in Enterprise. I have eaten barbecue all over the south and from coast and have never seen anything as bad as this. Usually I am more than satisfied. I won't go into details of what made every dish on the table terrible but it was uniform across the board. I hear that during the week they have good sandwiches at lunch . This was Sunday afternoon and it did seem that everything could have been leftovers from Fridays lunch.

DO NOT EAT AT THIS RESTAURANT!!! Our entire family went here to eat to celebrate our Nephew's graduation from helicopter fight school, and to the person (10 of us) got violently ill. My 6-year-old has never thrown up in her entire little life, and to watch her have to deal with that was more than traumatic for me. We called the rest of the family the next day only to learn that the other 2 children were also sick. Then, within the next 12-24 hours, every adult experienced the same violent vomiting and diarrhea. It was contagious...my sister-in-law's boyfriend, who hadn't eaten there at all contracted whatever we all had, when she arrived back in Indiana!!! The food was terrible. We arrived at around 4.00pm and purchased a meal that was supposed to feed 8 (the kids ate mac and cheese, and some salads from the insipid "salad bar"). When it arrived, it looked as if everything had been sitting under heat lamps since the week before. There was not one dish that looked as if it had been freshly made. Even though the illness had not yet zapped the family, not one of us left the restaurant with anything good to say about the meal. I leaned over to my wife and said that that was the last time that I would ever order "a meal to feel many" again. Little did I know what we were all in for.... I reported this restaurant to the health dept. for further investigation.
