The start of the visit was a tad bit rocky. The hostess sat us down and let us know that someone would be with us shortly. Unfortunately, "shortly" turned out to be somewhere close to the 10 minute mark. Then a waiter close to the entrance noticed us looking around and inquired if anyone had served us yet. He looked concerned about our wait time. As opposed to simply delegating our services to the waiter who was assigned to our section, Landon took the initiative and took care of us himself. And through the entire course of our meal Landon checked on us many times and kept our water and coffee coming without us having to ask. My stepfather, who was dining with me, commented that Landon had waited on him and my mother in the past and that he did an excellent job in the on those occasions as well. Now on to the food. I dined on the spinach, bacon, and mushroom omelette. The eggs were cooked, just right, to the necessary firmness without being overcooked and dry, as many other breakfast restaurants do. The ingredients all tasted fresh and blended well together. The home fries I ordered as my side were quite good as well. This was my first time dining at The Egg & I and I walked away very impressed and plan to eat there again the next time I'm in town

I was not impressed. We went to this location for brunch when the family was in town. Service was slow and food had about the same quality as IHOP. Actually I would rather IHOP. I just wasn't impressed with the food, service, or atmosphere.

This was a delicious brunch destination. Their omelettes are just incredible. I got the southwestern egg white the "Vera Cruz" and ah man. I can't say enough good things. We will definitely be back.

Friendly, knowledgeable staff who are eager to please. Food allergy friendly. Food is well prepared and they are willing to substitute for food allergies. If you need a separate dining space, there is a great meeting room.

Food was ok, but order was completely wrong which is crazy because there were only 3 tables busy. Waiter then told me my order was correct. I know egg whites from regular eggs...i ordered healthy and got a plate covered in texmex goo.

They're like the cheaper version of Big Bad Breakfast, except BBB is actually good. They have limited options...

Not so great... Blueberry pancake was ok, the eggs were bland and not good and the ranch potatoes were so incredibly salty/ranchy I couldn't finish it.

I got the cordon bleu..the flavor was bland and was nothing but dry potatoes, bland small chopped meat and a stale English muffin. On the only bright side, the orange juice was good. The friend I ate with wasn't impressed either. Would not suggest eating that..EVER. PS our waiter disappeared.

Updated May 2015, reduced from 5 to 3 stars due to steady decline in food and service. Not sure what has happened but I don't know how many more chances I'm willing to give them. I hope management is paying attention because several friends have stopped going as well. Nice to have another morning spot this side of 280. Always friendly, warm atmosphere and good service. Some of the wait staff is exceptional. Food is consistently great! Grits never too thick or runny, eggs perfectly prepared & hot, fresh coffee and cream from a pitcher instead of cheap little plastic cups. Turkey sausage is great, bacon good quality, French toast delish, hazelnut coffee superb! Croissant sandwich hits the spot!

My husband and I absolutely LOVE this place! We've been there four times in the last week! The veggie Benedict is awesome and the Belgian waffles are TO DIE FOR!!! Grady (the manager) comes by our table every time to say hey and makes sure everything is great! He even gave us coupons to use the first time we came in! A word of caution: if you go in on the weekends be prepared to wait for your food! They make everything to order, so it takes a bit..about an hour and a half from start to finish...but it's SO WORTH IT!! Ask for Kenya if you get a chance! She is awesome!!!

I wish there was a 3 & 1/2 star option... I went in wanting to really enjoy this more than I did based on the long lines that have always been there. It's not that it was bad it just did not impress me enough to be jumping up and down to go again. There is not clear order when you walk in the door other than a crowd. The wait staff was OK but not really engaging. I will go back and see what I think on another visit. It's worth going to and nice having more breakfast options out this way but just didn't wow me.

Food is good, location is good, little expensive for breakfast. Second best breakfast spot this side of town. Service and atmosphere are very good

Food is good enough. Omelettes were great. Biscuits were good while hot but cooled rather quickly. Once cool they became hard fast. Maybe pre-cooked and microwaved? Menu is kind of vague. I'm not sure I even saw biscuits, it may have and I missed it. We were only offered English Muffins by waiter. We saw our next table neighbor get biscuits. We asked and received. Great staff and service. Will return.

Kimberly is one of the nicest servers I've ever had, even on a busy and crowded Mother's Day. The Hiker's Benedict was excellent. I ate with a group of 12, all ordering different things, and we are all very pleased. The only complaint I have is that we called ahead, informed them of the size of our party, and we were told the wait was about 15 minutes. When we arrived, we were told they only needed to push tables together for us, but we still waited a much longer amount of time than we were told.

Enjoyed the hwy 31 location when we lived in Helena. 1st visit to the 280 location a few weeks ago. We were pleased. Service was good. Patriotic waffle was exactly what I was craving. Husband built his own egg white omelet with tons of add-ons and they got it just right. The potatoes were so good! Can't remember the name but they came with sour cream. The atmosphere is nothing fancy, just a typical breakfast place.

Very average breakfast house. Pancakes ok. Nothing special but nothing really bad about the place either. Just average service, average food. average decor.

Unbelievable! Almost an hour wait for food to come up. All was wrong. Eggs Benedict completely raw eggs, liquid egg whites. Even at a time with not that many customers. Food was competed but still disgusting. Should have posted photos
