A consistently good sushi restaurant that I keep returning to. Favorites include: volcano roll, tuna tataki, and vegetable tempura. Prompt and courteous service and almost never a wait. This is a great place to take a large group since they have a lot of tables in the back.

It's the upper half of Alabama. Although fresh salmon and fish is easier to come by, raw fish presents a different sort of challenge. That being said, Sushi Village had decent sashimi--but it was inconsistent. The salmon was good as always but the tuna didn't taste that much like tuna. The white tuna was chopped into smaller blocks! That made me sad because I love white tuna. The spicy tuna roll tasted slightly smoky and not spicy at all. There was a lot of mayo on the top that made this sushi have more flavor than it looks. The service and environment were very warm and welcoming. I always feel as if I'm too loud or the next table is too loud at one time. Sound doesn't echo but it's so quiet like a library but with food.

They have the absolute best Crazy Tuna roll on the planet. Do yourself a favor. The chicken fried rice is also amazing. Only $7 and the yummy sauce that comes with takes it to the next level. Their sake is always buy one get one free. So, if you buy the peach (that's my recommendation) you get a standard sake for free. They come in ice buckets with a wine glass. You have to ask for the shot glasses, but I think that makes it more fun. The wait staff is always rotating..but the food is so good it doesn't matter. Great little neighborhood gem. You can't go wrong.

This was our first visit to Sushi Village. And overall, it was a great experience. We decided to start with the house sake and calamari. The sake was decent, but not great. The calamari is not at all what we expected. It looked just like onion rings. Usually the rings are much smaller and there are some bodies mixed in. But these were the same size and look as onion rings. But it was delicious. The sauce (kind of a pepper jelly) is what made it incredible. The sushi was also fresh and delicious. We got the chef special A. Which was 12 pieces of sushi and 2 chef special rolls. You don't get to choose what you get. So it is kind of a roulette. But since we aren't picky, this seemed like a fair price to try some different sushi they had to offer. I know for sure one of the special rolls was the spider roll. The other, I'm not sure. But it had shrimp inside and crab salad on top. Both were really good. The ambiance was a whole lot cooler than I expected and the service was great. We will be back.

What a gem in a random spot. My wife and I stopped by before a movie and was incredibly surprised by the entire experience. First, it was very clean. Second, our server was great and the sushi was fantastic. They weren't really busy but it was a little early with us trying to catch the movie. This is the kind of place I want to take friends and family because the outside apperance doesn't reflect what's on the inside (that's kinda cheesy but...) the point is, they would be surprised and that's the fun part about trying new places. Can't wait to go back

I love this place. No doubt their lunch special is a steal, but even dinner prices are reasonable. Very good quality sushi (which you may not expect from a strip mall location in this area). Service is always good - and they have White Thai beer in cans. There are TVs and a nice decor. You really forget you're in a not so nice area. I totally recommend this place for true sushi lovers. Sure you'll get more fluff elsewhere, but this place packs a lot of bang for your buck.

Hands down this was some of the best sushi we have ever had. The customer service was excellent. The sushi chef's were very knowledgeable and extremely timely in making each roll. The outside appearance might run away, but entering the doors you will soon find a comfortable restaurant. We had the Sushi Village Roll and Manhattan roll and both were excellent. My husband rarely drinks more than one beer and he had two White Thai beers. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and highly recommend this place. You will be very glad you stopped here. The prices are reasonable as well.

I've been to Sushi Village a couple times and had good experiences. It is somewhat hard to find in the shopping area and impossible to see from the roads, but it is across the parking lot from Home Depot and in the same shopping area as a movie theater. As with most sushi restaurants, sushi is somewhat expensive. The lunch menu is surprisingly affordable, but dinner is, well, dinner prices. I unfortunately have always paid dinner prices. This time, I went later at night with a friend and shared the so-called "Love Boat", which is sushi for two people. It is a relatively good deal, with two specialty rolls, sashimi, and a california roll (I think i remember that right). Unfortunately, one has no choice in what one receives and must pay $3 extra to specify fancier specialty rolls. Although the waitress wasn't particularly attentive, the food came out relatively quickly. We had lettuce salads, drenched with salad dressing. There was a fairly good volume of sushi. One specialty roll was really excellent and the other was quite good. The sashimi seemed fresh enough. I will likely go back here again, hopefully at lunch time. The place almost deserves five stars.

Sushi was great, hibachi was okay. Service was awesome, I will be going back. I recommend any of the sushi.

When we got there was surprised by the interior. Very cool. Nice feeling to the place. I had a sushi platter which was chef choice. All the fish tasted fresh. The roll that came with it was kind of uninspiring but ok. My wife had the hibachi chicken. Not really that good. Stick to sushi and rolls. Really nice service and good prices. We will definitely be coming back soon.

Update again.. I came back for the lunch special as I was CRAVING sushi.. I mean so much so that even grocery store sushi would've hit the spot. Maybe I came on bad days before..the fish tasted much more fresh and rice was not dry. In addition they gave me tons of salmon in my salmon roll..so much that it looked like two big pieces of salmon poking out. 3 rolls and a small caraf of sake for $15...doesn't get better!

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.
