Really enjoyed dinner tonight. Steamed dumplings, crab angels, egg rolls, Mongolian combo. All were outstanding. Really good service.

The dinner prices don't equate to the quality of the food. I paid over $14 for a subpar meal of sesame shrimp. The dish was dry and tasteless. In fact, I placed a to - go order but was told by the cashier/hostess that I wouldn't like what I ordered. I was taken aback and asked her if she was suggesting I order something else. She agreed as I tried to reorder the same dish. She insisted that I wouldn't like it. Needless to say I didn't order the original dish but instead ordered the aforementioned sesame shrimp and it was horrible. I didn't even get plastic ware or an egg roll to boot for $14. Don't waste your dinner money.

Ordered some of the worst Chinese takeout EVER from this place tonight. It was the first time we ate anything from Palace and it will be the last. 1) portions were quite small and were overpriced 2) crab Rangoon, cream cheese starfish (whatever they call it)... Worse than a non Asian Lunch buffet! Overcooked in old oil. 3) chicken dish... Very low quality meat. May have been something other than poultry, don't want to know. 4) shrimp dish... The shrimp were decent sized and they actually included a fair quantity, however the quality of the sauce was terrible, and it tasted like they cooked it with some other type of seafood that we didn't order and then separated out our shrimp. When I arrived at the restaurant at prime dinner time to pick up my order, the place was empty with maybe one customer. I should have taken the hint, but unfortunately had already placed my order via phone. Don't make the same mistake.

First place we tried when we moved here. Great take out. Ordering was simple and easy and the food was great. My husband had the shrimp lo mein, I had teriyaki chicken which came with steamed broccoli. We both had fried rice and egg rolls. Everything was great. Definitely will be a repeat customer.

Absolutely my favorite Chinese restaurant on Earth. Yes, I've tried them all. None come close to the Palace. I'd recommend a particular dish but I love them all. They've had the same staff since opening more than a decade ago and I've never had a bad meal or bad service. I wish every town had a Palace.

Easily one of the worst dining experiences I've had in the area. Everything they served had a terrible burnt acrid taste as if their pans needed serious cleaning or they'd had a kitchen fire. Overpriced. The staff was pleasant but unhelpful.

First of all the food is not worth the $20 price tag for one person. The egg rolls I received were old, cold and tasted really funky. The fried rice was also cold and tasted funny. I had sesame beef which was.... Wait for it... Wait for it... COLD. Not to mention I got really sick that night after eating here. Needless to say, please save your money and your stomach and look elsewhere for Chinese. Ughh. And you would think for 20 bucks the cheapskates could throw in some eating utensils.

My family has been coming here for years. Their lunch service isn't to be beat. We have now tried everything on the menu and it is all very good. The thing I've had issues with was their vegetable lo mein. It has canned oyster mushrooms in it and it made the entire dish taste like the can. Over all this is a fantastic place to eat and the convenience of the regal cinemas makes this our favourite date resturant.

Palace Chinese is close to home, so we've tried it a couple of times. The first lunch take-out was good, but the last meal (dinner) the food was so salty we couldn't finish it. My order, kung pao chicken, tasted like half a salt shaker had been dumped on my plate. The first time I ordered this same meal it was pretty decent. The food doesn't seem to be consistent from one experience to the next.

My favorite Chinese food in the Birmingham area. I've eaten here dozens of times and the food is consistently good. My favorites are the sizzling rice soup, beef chow mein, Lo mein and sesame chicken. The egg rolls and soup are always piping hot and delicious. Quick service and decent prices are a plus. Highly recommend this place!

We came here for lunch and the service was excellent. Right when we got sat, soup, egg rolls, and crackers were placed in front of us. The only complaint is that the soup tasted awful. It was so sour it tasted old. I ordered the Kung Pao Chicken. It's delicious but I barely got any chicken. It was 70% peanuts, 20% vegetables, and 10% chicken. I gave it 4 stars because the food still tasted okay and the service was wonderful!

Outstanding service and food at an affordable price! Less than $7 at lunch for a combination stir fry plate plus egg roll and soup! Will come back often when I go to a movie! This is a very good place!!

Was open on Christmas eve so we stopped in to eat. The food was excellent and the service was great. Very enjoyable dinner experience.

Today I gave the Palace Chinese Restaurant a second chance, choosing the same meal, General Tso's Chicken. It was again disappointing. I had ordered it take-out and waited for it. Service was prompt and friendly, but the product itself was poor. The batter was not crisp, but soggy as it had been the first time I got it. An eggroll that was included was not hot, but warm and so soft that it wouldn't cut cleanly with a knife, so I had to pull it apart. Several of my friends enjoy this restaurant, but if you plan to eat there, definitely stay away from General Tso.

Great, sit-down Chinese. The sesame beef on the dinner menu is probably my favorite dish. Friendly staff and close proximity to the theater make this a favorite for me.

This is a wonderful place to enjoy a good meal at very fair prices. I went with some friends for lunch on our way to the movies a few doors down, and really liked the food, and service. The lunch menu has 23 different choices to peruse....with prices starting at $5.95 to $6.95. Tea is extra.....I had Hunan Chicken $6.25 and water....paid $6.82 plus tip. There is a full menu for those who are a bit more selective. The highest price was for a seafood plate consisting of crab, shrimp, and scallops at $13.25....you won't be disappointed!!

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
