I don't normally frequent sandwich shops because I can always make my own sandwich at home for lunch. But this place has a delicious sub along with super tasty nachos. They have deals basically every day of the week, so don't go paying full price for your meal! Check the chalk board next to the cashier for the deals. You really should try this place; my parents came in from out of town, and they loved it.

As said before in previous review the food is on the good side, but the restaurant nasty nasty nasty.

Very good sandwich shop. Quick service and food was prepared quickly. Overall appearance of the food was moderate and the sandwich was meticulously crafted where all aspects of the sandwich were able to be tasted. And the nachos, A+++. Can't beat them. Good specials also ran throughout the week

I have loved Momma G's since I was a student at Auburn. Now that I live in Birmingham, I loved it when Momma G's came here. This particular location used to be so much better than it is now. My experience today was lacking. The ordering system was chaotic. The sandwich makers couldn't get the sandwiches out fast enough and the customers were all jumbled together waiting to pay and sit down. The sandwiches themselves were just okay. The pastrama mama was pretty good but the momma's love was below average. You can tell this location is trying to cut costs and save money. There was hardly any meat on the sandwich and was lacking other ingredients like lettuce. It was all bread. It just wasn't the momma's love I remember. The nachos weren't any better. The peppers weren't steamed with the cheese and the chips. They were just thrown on top as an afterthought. Also, they are trying to cut costs here as well. There was barely any cheese on the chips. They need to step up their game of they want to continue having repeat customers.

We went in tonight to grab 3 sandwiches. We had 45 minutes before we had to get to an event. No problem, right? One party with 2 sandwiches were in front of us. It took the one guy making sandwiches 15 minutes to make those two sandwiches. We realized that based on the 7.5 minute per sandwich rate, we'd never make it to our event so we left but not before we watched sandwich dude stand on the food prep counter to better reach something in storage. He hopped down and returned to making food without disinfecting his "ladder".

In a pinch this is the perfect sandwich place. They are cheap and get you in and out quickly. No need to get intimidated by the menu the Momma's Love is and will always be the best sandwich on the menu. They have salads and other items but no need to stray from the best. If you want some chips go for it they have them but you really must upgrade to the nachos. With or without jalapenos it really doesn't matter they altogether rule. The quick explanation says it all. Cheese Doritos and white cheese. Yum! Like them on Facebook and follow them on Twitter for special deals each day.

Two of us wanted cheap dinner on a Sunday evening. That right there limits your options. Thankfully Momma Goldberg's came to the rescue. You have to keep in mind that you aren't getting mindblowing sandwiches here, just know that. But they are pretty inexpensive; my beef and cheese was $5.49 with tax. The nachos were popular since it seemed like everyone was getting them, some with jalapenos, some without. The employees appear to be stoned high schoolers. The music was bizarre, some kind of electronic dance music. This isn't a club! That music certainly doesn't mesh well with the baseball highlights that were playing on two TVs. Cleanliness seemed okay, though the poor hardwood floor had seen better days. One employee did use a gloved hand to handle my credit card, hmm.

I love Momma Goldberg's. I went there all the time while in college and still enjoy going there now post graduation. The addition of the "time on the clock deal" from 3-6 to Fridays as well as Monday. Getting a sandwich, drink, and chips for $3 on Monday is a great deal anywhere, and the Doritos nachos are incredible. Eat here, and don't forget the local brews on tap.

This location is usually staffed by college kids. The sandwiches were pretty small for what I'm used to, but they are cheap so you could buy 2 for the same price as a regular footlong at quiznos or something like that. Points off for not having whole pickles, you order a whole pickle it's 4 quarter slices. Do get the nachos if you are hungry. It's like poutine with doritos. It represents everything that is right and wrong about american snacks.

Coming from living up North, I walked into Mamma's and was over the moon to see them steaming the meat. I lived for delis up in New England and truly miss them down here. Being able to get a real reuben is such a treat, I rarely get anything else. Most of the time they even give me my extra sauerkraut. I would love to see an expanded menu with more original sandwiches, but it is most def my favorite sandwich place in B'ham. Although I will admit, I don't understand the whole nacho thing....

Food is pretty good. Like the mommas love and big momma. But I give this place 2 stars instead of 4 because it's filthy. Looking at the floors and walls I feel like I'm going to get a staph infection. They need to close for a few days to clean and paint and hire someone to be cleaning during the day. Surprised they don't get dinged by the health inspector.
