This was great food for the price. The service was wonderful and our waiter was very kind.

The egg roll tasted like it had been fried in stale oil. Hot and sour soup had a good broth, albeit thin. There were not enough solids in the soup. The vegetables in my main dish were fresh and the beef was tender and good, but the sauce did not have an umami taste. Serving of rice, while adequate, was stingy. I never understand why any restaurant would short such an inexpensive commodity. Usually, I go to a place a number of times before writing a review, but I do not plan to go back to this restaurant so I am writing this review based on one visit. The experience of one visit cannot properly evaluate a restaurant. I can just say that I have had much better Chinese food here in Birmingham.

I didn't want anything fried and wanting something a little more authentic than the typical takeout Chinese food. The variety of options offered on the menu suggested that so I called in a $10.99 order of garlic shrimp with vegetables and mushrooms stir-fried in garlic, brown sauce. It was really good for what I was expecting. The restaurant has a nice little entrance with a bar to your left side. The lady working at the front is nice and double-checks your order to make sure nothing was confused and your customized order was customized. They give plenty of rice to eat with it too but you won't be able to finish that.

A decent place but it is kind of like a American Chinese fast food dining in! Less than $10 for each. Not a bad choice for lunch.

My brother and I went after doing Sip n Strokes. I ordered chicken fried rice and egg rolls. The rice was flavorless. I could have gotten better fried rice from the the mall. The egg rolls tasted as if they were cooked on old grease. I will never go back or recommend this place. The only good thing is the atmosphere is nice.

Great find. I had steamed dumplings, egg rolls and sesame chicken. Everything was very fresh and delicious. The restaurant looks suspect when you walk in but the owners are very friendly and the food is excellent. Will definitely come back when I'm in town.

The food and service are consistently good. Our favorites are the hot and sour soup, the best egg rolls in town, and the Mongolian Trio. GREAT lunch prices! Extra friendly staff is always welcoming. LOVE MINGS!

I'm not a big Chinese food fan, but my wife works near here so surprise surprise I'm eating Chinese food. Pros: Very clean with slightly upscale feel. Very ornate. Cons: Small portions. Ordered Mongolian beef and got maybe 7 small pieces of meat with a ice cream scoop of solidified rice. Food tastes like it may be made in huge vats and then scooped out as needed. Not bad, but you can tell the difference. No buffet. This is cute little Chinese eatery in a strip mall. Not a date thing, but decent enough.

Friends, if you own an Asian/chinese restaurant, here is a clue. The trick to Won Ton soup is one of two things, either: A. Make the noodles thick so they can survive in the soup all day or B. Put the noodles (par cooked) into the soup at the time of purchase. Possibly the worst won-ton soup I ever had in my life. The noodles did not have the strength to lift them onto the spoon without falling into pieces. Had the Mu Shu Pork, to me Mu Shu Pork should be cooked until the ingredients are brown and carmelized, this stuff was barely cooked. Had a bit of flavor but nothing to speak of. Egg rolls, standard fare, not home made.

Had the General's Chicken. Over fried and was like eating burned turkey tendons. Worst meal in ages I have ever had.

Took my 4yr old boy to Ming's. First of all, it was hard to find even using Nav... Weird little plaza with nothing that really stands out and makes you notice a restaurant. The ambiance is what you would expect at most Chinese restaurants with the typical Asian flare ie: coy fish, lots of gold trim, really old wood things, a bunch of fake plants and so on... All very common. Although, there was no music playing in the background which made things a bit uncomfortable since they sat us in a booth right next to the only other table with people in the entire place... Awkward. I ordered the sweet n sour chicken with rice and soup for my boy.... It was one of the $7.95 lunch specials. I had a mixed combo.. The combo's come with hot and sour soup which is what I had... I substituted wanton soup for my boy... He's picky. haha... When the food arrived I was kind of surprised by the small portions that came with the lunch combo. I have eaten a lot of Chinese in my day and this was def the smallest portion of food I have been served, anywhere. Although the meal was okay it was a serious let down when you pair it with my already disappointing experience. All this aside, Im rating this so poorly because I wasn't told that by substituting the wanton broth for Hot and sour soup there would be a $3.75 up charge... The older lady that works the cash register at checkout (prob manager or owner) couldn't have cared less... When I asked her about why my bill was $22 when we got two 7.95 meals, she played it off like she couldn't understand me. Was very short w/ me and didn't even think twice about adjusting it. Very poor value for Chinese food over all... Small portions, strange quiet atmosphere, very unappreciative of customers, and just bad over all experience. Food was okay but not worth the price at all.

Ming's Cuisine was a pleasant surprise. The food and service was good. I would give them 3.5 stars. I would go back for the Egg Foo Young & Kung Pao Combo. Also the Kung Pao beef & Sesame Chicken was good.

Imagine--Christmas Eve! This place was packed. Mainly because the big box restaurants were more packed. Fortunately, we had made reservations and got bumped to the front of the line (which annoyed several people! Sorry.) But had to wait a while for a server. Luckily, we weren't in any hurry. Our server, Lucy, was a whirling dervish and got us situated and orders taken. Food was fresh, hot, and delicious. Hot and sour soup was great. I had pan-fried noodles, husband had mongolian beef. Others at the table had sesame chicken, kung pao trio (shrimp, beef, chicken), and chicken and vegetables in brown sauce. We are regulars at this small restaurant, and I will continue to recommend and return for great food. Thanks, Lucy!!!

Great hidden gem! Ming's is somewhat hidden on Hwy 280 but it is worth the find. The best egg rolls hands down. Great service and quick to get in and out. Haven't tried every menu item but entrées I have gotten were hot and fresh. Check this place out!

The food here is very good. I haven't had better Chinese food anywhere else in the city. The hot and sour seafood soup and sesame chicken are outstanding.

Favorite Chinese place in town. Amazing food and service. Try the sesame chicken, Mongolian beef, black bean shrimp, or shrimp and vegetables. Also great egg rolls, soup, and crab angels. Can't go wrong with Mings!

This is standard American-style Chinese food but the service is very fast, the food is done exactly as advertised and is very tasty. 5 stars because of the egg roll and soup given immediately when seated!

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
