If you need to blow off steam from a crazy workday then this is the place to go!! The atmosphere is relaxing and if it's not too hot you can dine outside. The food is absolutely delicious and consistent quality. They have a great wine selection. I love the Bistecca sandwich. Take a friend and split lunch to try new dishes!!

Very nice little "Italian" restaurant. The pastas are all made in the premises and are as fresh as they can be! The food is great, but the reason for the quotes around italian is on the "americanized" ingredient they use on the sauce: GARLIC. This absolutely kills the Italian authenticity and also makes the sauce taste bad instead of tasting good. The whole concept of italian cousine is that you taste the fresh tomatoes on a pomodoro sauce. You won't have that taste here. However, still a very good restaurant and I would definitely return. Portions are small and price is big, so not a good place for a daily lunch, it would be more for a special occasion.

This is such a nice place! Definitely come back here. We had a great lunch today. The anti- pasti was awesome. You can sit outsit if you like to. That is probably nice at night, too hot during the day unfortunately. The interior of the restaurant is so cool. Being from Europe I can honestly say: very European style, liked it a lot. Birmingham needs more places like this!

This is by far, our favorite restaurant in Birmingham. The wait staff is always knowledgable, and after attempting to try every antipasti plate in the city, I can confidently say this one is the best of the best. They have a wide range of offerings ... split a pizza, go for a big fancy meal, or (my new favorite) lunch sandwiches. That was a true surprise for me, and a very happy one!

I would like to give this place a higher rating, because the pizzas that I have eaten here are among the best in town. I have never had good service here, even when they are not crowded. They are usually very crowded at night, and getting a table can be difficult. You can have a drink at the bar while waiting, but it is also over crowded and hard to get up to. Inside is very small, with lots of cramped banquette, of which I am NOT a fan...especially when spending so much for a meal. As I said, the pizza is delicious, but a big expensive for the size. The paste dishes and meat plates are also good, but again too expensive for what you get. The biggest problem I had was with the cocktails, of which they much think very highly since they run about $12 for a thimble sized drink!! I would highly recommend sitting outside if you can, at least if you want to be able to hear the people you are dining with. The awesome pizzas are the only thing that dragged the review up to three stars.

I was very disappointed in my experience at Bettola. 30 minutes after ordering our food and drinks, we still had no drinks and were told that they were out of pizza and we would need to re-order. After reordering, we were told that our pizzas were delivered to another table where they had been sitting for 15 minutes. They brought us those (now room temperature) pizzas. My pizza was not finished and they brought me the toppings to put on my own pizza. To top it all off, when they brought us the bill instead of giving us a discount for the terrible experience, they tried to over charge us. After this experience, I wrote an review on their Facebook page and received a message threatening legal action for the review! With so many great food options in Birmingham, I will not be going back to Bettola again!

The calamari has nearly no breading but that's because the overflowing saucy flavors are more than enough. The complimentary bread is soft and buttery. The Bietol pizza with "house sausage, spinach, fontina, pecorino, mascarpone, and egg toppings" was beyond delicious. There was so much flavor in such thin layers. You'd think a 10" pizza like this wouldn't be enough but the flavor was so rich, that you're glad these portions were limited. The outdoor seating is really lovely. The service is fantastic here and our waitress was dedicated in making sure we left satisfied.

Really good pizza as long as you don't get too many toppings (it can get a little soggy). Portions are reasonable, and staff is helpful. The location is really nice, and the pastas are fresh and delicious. Newly expanded space is pretty and comfortable.

This was my first visit and it was during the lunch hour, but I liked the food and the atmosphere of the restaurant so I definitely want to return to try out dinner. Plus, I love Pepper Place so I'll take any excuse to return! Lots of dining tables, both indoor and patio. You can also see into the kitchen...keep an eye out for the pig head :-| Unlike dinner, lunch is counter service. Order at the bar, you are then given a number, and then you go take any seat in the restaurant you like. The few servers on staff will bring your order to your table once ready. The food comes fairly quickly, so you can make your dining experience as long (or short) as you want. The lunch menu includes a few apps, salads, sandwiches, pizzas and some pasta dishes. I enjoyed a Caesar salad with hanger steak - great portion size for lunch and the steak was cooked just as I asked and was really flavorful. My friend ordered the herb salad and the mushroom truffle pizza (forgot the actual name). Both looked fresh and delicious, she enjoyed both and even had a few slices of pizza to take home for later. Can't wait to return for dinner or even lunch again!

One of my favorite spots for authentic Italian cuisine in town. I love the atmosphere. Feels like I'm in a posh, bigger city! The pasta is always fresh. The men may think the portions are on the smaller side, but I think it's the perfect amount of divine yumminess. If they ever have a fish special try it!!! The fish is always to die for and served with a seasonal side. My only con is I am personally not a fan of the Reno space. I appreciated the smaller, more intimate space Betola portrayed before they opened it all up. Go here...you will leave full and happy.

Pizza is great, especially the margarita-add chicken to round it out. Pasta is made fresh and delicious. Great place to go with friends to hang out and have a conversation. Outside seating is a nice touch (not at lunch in the Alabama summer )

This is the go to place in Birmingham for fresh pasta, Every pasta on the menu is excellent and worth a try, I also really enjoy the brushchetta app on the menu. They have a great wine selection at reasonable prices.

Oh man, Bettola. Some of their food is fantastic. Their pizza is great. Their gnocchi is out of this world. Their hanger steak is tender and delicious. I would come here for lunch every day if I could. However, it think I need to mention that I came here once for dinner, ordered the gnocchi, enjoyed half the dish... Then bit down on a metal wire. It was about an inch long and sharp. When I showed it to the manager, he said it was from the brush they use to clean the dishes and they show up once every few months. Let me repeat that. Once every few months, someone finds a metal wire in their food at Bettola. And they haven't changed the brush they use to clean the dishes with yet. Anyway, I still love their food and will continue eating here as long as I live in Birmingham because it's great. However... Be careful about what you put in your mouth.

I've consistently touted Bettola as the best Italian restaurant in town. However their inconsistency is becoming a problem. Tonight I worked a fourteen hour day and all I wanted to reward myself was Bettola pizza. I arrived an hour before closing with two friends. We were promptly seated. We then proceeded to wait twenty minutes and. No. One. Came. (No water - no drink orders - no acknowledgement from waitstaff even though staffing seemed adequate) We decided to leave and a server did finally acknowledge us with a good night at the exit! We decided to go to Post Office Pies (their pizza is almost as good) where we were promptly served with a smile. This is the third strike against Bettola. This is the third time in a year a similar thing has happened there. My love for Their food bought them some grace the first two times - not anymore though!

Exceptionally good place, with a very unique character! Whatever comes out of that firewood oven its all you have to care. For lunch or for dinner their "rosticceria" products are above uniqueness in the B'ham area. Sure, places like this are very common in cities like Manhattan, but I guess by now you realized that we have a slightly smaller diversity here, for food! Their pizza is THE MOST accurate representation of the Neapolitan pizza in town, full stop. Chewy, light, fresh, and burning hot, their pizza really brings me back to me home country. Fantastic addition to the great dough is their salami. Those salumi are a masterpiece of old fashion italian "macelleria" art! Those salumi coupled with that tough make a really great product that is, in quality, way above any other pizzeria in town, ANY! Of source neither their pizza is perfect like the one you would eat in "Via Tribunali" in Napoles. I wished the tomatoes sauce was more "punchy", i.e. a less sweet taste that would contrast more with the sweetness of the prosciutto. The buffalo mozzzarella is ok, nothing special, but that's what we get here in town. Crowded, some time loud place, but with a great and careful wait staff. Big miss, that almost costs them a star, is the availability of beer only in bottles! That's so bad, again, almost a killer! Great for pizza night, great for lunch (their lunch is spectacular too), great place. A Must go!

Great food, drinks and atmosphere! The new bar looks great. The mushroom risotto is something to remember. I will always look back with fond memories. Every time i visit I leave with a big smile!!

Bettola recently expanded it's restaurant. This place is located in the beautiful heart of Pepper place. The food is freshly made, within sight of everyone and unique. The portion size is very reasonable, and the store is very cozy. This is a must stop for anyone looking for a unique place to grab lunch.

I love the atmosphere, wine selection, charcuterie/cheese plates, and desserts. It is the in between that will likely keep me from returning. The food is exceptionally rich. I realize this is Italian but it is just too much. The pizza (we tried two kinds) tasted like straight cheese and nothing else and they had to be eaten with a fork because they were so soggy that the crust was limp. The service was slow and lacking relevant information. I won't go with a 1 star because like I said, the desserts are phenomenal and inspired.

First: this place is pizza and pasta. If you're expecting any other kind of Italian food, this isn't the place for you. I had the sugo di pomodoro I believe - the tomato vegetarian pasta, and this pasta just knocked it out of the park. Fantastic. Amazing cheese on top of what might be the best tomato sauce I've ever had topped with fresh basil. The sauce was all about enhancing the flavor of the tomato. No, not that original, but 10/10 for execution. My mom had the four cheese pasta which was excellent but essentially expensive Mac and cheese. We had a couple of issues with the kitchen: first, a waiter grabbed our Order and gave our food to another table, so we waited a long time. Then, when it did come, it didn't modify the order the way my dad asked. Normally I would knock a star off for this, except that the waiter comped our alcohol, which more than made up for it in my book. But I'd recommend this place for that tomato pasta alone. God damn.

Sugo Di Pomodoro 16.00 Strozzapreti pasta, cherry tomatoes roasted with garlic, extra virgin oil, bufala mozzarella, pecorino, basil This is the real deal authentic Italian and i love it. I have had this exact dish in Florence Italy and this was just as good....in BHM AL for crying out loud! We are truly lucky to have such creative and talented chefs in our city. Go here....now. BTW...and sausage to the above.

Excellent food, location, setting, service. Pizza was an ok deal for a nicer restaurant and it was very tasty, amazing crust and combination of cheeses. The classy brick oven in the kitchen really gives it a nice flavor. Tried one drink, and for me I've had better for the price. Gnocchi was practically flawless, I mean has to be one of my favorite Italian dishes of all time. However, for the price, I feel like I got the shaft. I would expect a much larger portion for what I paid. If not for the price, I could consider it 5 star. To sum it up, excellent food, but be ready to walk out either hungry or broke. But oh that gnocchi.

In the past, I always been beyond pleased with Bettola. Unfortunately, my experience last night was so egregious that I don't know if I will ever return. When I first moved to Birmingham, my sweet father found this place listed as 'the best pizza in alabama' in The Week magazine and insisted on taking me here for a nice dinner the first time he visited. Since that first, spectacular experience Bettola has held special status and I've celebrated with friends and family here on numerous occasions and brought work associates here to entertain in a professional capacity. My father and his friend are in town for the weekend and requested this be our Friday dining locale : no problem. I arrived earlier then they did to put our name on the table wait list (no reservations for less than 6 patrons) and I quickly realized that my experience might be less than stellar. The hostesses were in the weeds, seemed extremely stressed and could barely communicate a wait time when asked because they seemed so confused/insecure. I chalked it up to them being very young and seated myself at the bar for a glass of wine. It was a long wait before someone took my drink order but their recommendation was on point and the service kind. My father has compromised mobility and when he did arrive, I was surprised at how inconsiderate the hostess staff was at helping him inside (he has a cane, a walking cast and looks visibly frail).... The door wasn't held for him, in fact a hostess let it close ON him. Not the sort of see service I grew accustomed to here. Maybe they were busy and their blinders were on but it takes only a few moments to be kind to an older man who is obviously a little unsteady on his feet. We were seated outside at a shared table. It was a beautiful night so I was happy with this arrangement as was my father and his friend. Sadly, it took over 15 minutes for menus to arrive. The water glasses were left unfilled for just as long and had visible hard water stains (we wouldn't have noticed had they been filled immediately). Our waiter was apologetic and shocked that he hadn't been told we were his table. We settled on splitting two pizzas and an olive antipasto. The food arrived quickly but was delivered by a runner who didn't bring plates and didn't notify the waiter of an additional drink order. I waited a solid 5-7 minutes (watching our food get colder by the minutes) before walking inside to help myself to plates so that we could eat. Again, the waiter was profusely apologetic. I was so embarrassed by how poorly this whole experience reflected on me that I could barely enjoy the food. Right as we finished, it started raining and the outdoor patio was rendered unsuitable for seating. Mass chaos ensued. Luckily, we were done so I went inside to settle the bill. The bartender was kind enough to flag down my waiter and he apologized, again, profusely for the oversights. Realistically, none of these issues were his fault. The root of all of these issues was a poorly trained hostess staff and widespread breakdowns in communication between staff. Our waiter seemed superb, he just didn't have anyone supporting his efforts and that is the real shame/problem. This whole incident will give me great pause when considering where to entertain out of town friends, family and business associates in the future. Bettola used to be a go-to... Not anymore. Reprehensible floor management makes even the best food in town unpalatable.

They have converted what was a loud restaurant due to close tables into a miserably loud restaurant by piping in obnoxious electro funk music at nightclub sound levels. Instead of seating us at an open table they said "we are underserved you need to wait on a bench for 10-15 minutes." Oh by the way we had reservations.

Gosh, Bettola, what happened? I lived in Birmingham when Bettola opened and it quickly became one of our go-to dinner spots. The pizzas and pastas were always spot on and while the service was inconsistent, it was never just plain bad. Last Saturday, six of us went for the first time in a year and had a pretty awful experience. The 30-minute wait was a great chance to get some fabulous cocktails from the bar (this is the reason for the second star in the rating). Since the restaurant's inception, they have done a very good job with the bar program and that part of the restaurant still continues to shine. After that, it was a total flop on two levels: service and food. Our waitress took her time greeting us and then the intervals between her visits to the table were unacceptably long. Water took forever and there was no apology. Drinks took forever and there was no apology. Food took forever and there was no acknowledgement. We didn't get the feeling that she cared about us at all. All would have been forgiven if the food was as good as it had been in the past. But the pizza was flabby, thick, and bland, without the characteristic crisp/blistered crust that was typical of the restaurant before. The charcuterie plate was embarrassingly small (although the pork rilletes were to die for...food highlight of the night). The gnocchi was thick and the accompanying sauce bland. The calamari lacked the typical tenderness and was a bit "fishy." We didn't send anything back - we just wanted to get out of there. I wonder if the kitchen is unable to keep up with the new tables in the old Vittoria space. Or if they didn't hire enough servers to account for expansion. Or maybe it was just an off-night and we had bad luck. In any case, I hope that some corrections are made because this was a shining star in Birmingham's culinary landscape and I'd love to see it return to its former self.

I went back to B'ham recently and stopped into Bettola. Here's the news - COCKTAILS! Really, really, good craft cocktails. The bartender there (Eric Bennet?) is making classic prohibition style cocktails with a personal twist. Think some house made liquors as modifiers and fresh fruits and herbs. Really nice collection of amaro and very balanced drinks, even when boozy. Amazing. Food - still lovely. My friend had the calamari, we split a pizza, I had some pasta. Yum. Didn't go for dessert - went for a third cocktail.

Did you just charge me approximately $2+ for a 2" SLICE of eggplant? ONE SLICE? Wow! What a disappointment . And we invited guests, too. We have eaten at Bettola a number of times, and this was the worst experience yet. Not just overall bad food, poorly plated, but the service was pathetic. Let's get right to it: ATMOSPHERE: Pretty much the same as usual. Definitely not the friendly atmosphere that was apparent when they first opened - it seemed much more friendly, relaxed back then - But I got the feeling that I was bothering them last night. THE SERVICE: Waiter, who clearly doesn't understand English ... I get that you're busy. (Wait, no, actually, we are one of only four tables seated here this evening, so I can't really understand why you were being hover-waiter at my table, and then when I looked up and started telling you what I wanted - you walked away - Is this your first rodeo?). And ... can anyone get a drink around here? I'd be happy if you just refilled my water glass - but you could make some $ if you brought me another glass of wine (and, you could make your customer happy). THE FOOD: See aforementioned comment about the $2 slice of eggplant. The anti-P plate was lacking in presentation, and the quantity of food was sparse, to say the least. The bread was stale. I ordered the pappardelle with the guanciale. I was corrected on the pronunciations of both "pappardelle" and "guanciale" words, and then our server said, "you'll have the gnocchi?" I said, "Oh, is it the gnocchi that comes with the guanciale this evening?" No comment and he brought me gnocchi with some sort of sausage in it. Mr SS9s meal was another disaster. And our guests? Well ... one was satisfied - the other needed another fork to kill the piece of meat that came out "medium" - last time I checked, blood pooling on the plate is NOT medium for hangar steak. We were embarrassed that we suggested Bettola for dinner. It makes me think that Mr Lewis has seen the light of Mr Beard's accolades and doesn't care for his customers any longer. Take a tip from the ever popular chef with a few fine dining establishments around town - be humble, or be gone. I am hoping this overall horrific experience was just a freak incident, as we used to really love this place.

This place was fantastic. I had the Pollo Pomodoro and it was amazing. It's a sandwich with tons of flavor from just a few ingredients. The chicken, mozzarella and basil come together in a mouth watering way that you need to try. I haven't tasted one of their pizzas yet, but they looked great as well.

Just had lunch here today with my brother and let me tell you, our sandwiches were absolutely delicious! I had the Pollo Pomodoro and it was so tasty! Fresh bread with sliced chicken, fresh basil and mozzarella cheese and roasted tomatoes! Will go back just for that sandwich alone!

It's been a while since I ate here, but the experience was so bad I remember it (unfortunately) like it was yesterday. I hesitated to write this review until now because with all the glowing reviews from others I thought my experience must have been a fluke. But obviously it wasn't. My family wanted to take me out for my birthday last October 2013 & I said I wanted to try Bettola. It was a beautiful fall night and we wanted to sit outside. It all went downhill from there. The place was 2/3 empty when we arrived but the hostess couldn't seat the 4 of us outside until I actually refused the table stuck way in the back she attempted to seat us at. I'll summarize the rest of the evening: Service: A joke. Waiter could not even tell us what the dishes were. I asked him about one of the appetizers & was told "it's meat". And that was the best thing he said all night! Of course we didn't see much of him anyway. Drinks: Wine pours were ridiculously small when being charged $12 per glass. Less than half of a standard wine glass? Come on. Food: Pizza was ok, not great. Every other dish was simply bad. And to make it worse it obviously sat for a while before our server decided it was cold enough to bring to the table. Management: ?? Nobody home when I let my server know our dinners were less than stellar. Overall: Possibly the worst dining experience I've had in the Ham. And judging by the expressions on the faces of the few other diners around us I'm pretty sure they felt the same way. It was my idea to come here and my family kept apologizing for how bad my birthday meal was! Well, at least someone cared because no one at the restaurant did!

Maybe this was an off night. The first thing i noticed when entering was something burning from the kitchen. Even now, post dinner my hair and clothes have a burned grease, smokey smell. Our table of 4 all ordered varying pasta dishes. How can pasta be bad? It wasn't so much bad as it was ehhh. Nothing at all to go overboard about. Our server was neither friendly nor rude. Just ehhhh. Apathetic. Sadly, I've been here a couple of times and found it outstanding. It was sad I had friends in town from out of state and this was our experience. A smelly, ehhh night of dinner. Not sure I will go back. We had a good night otherwise as our table was fun and I enjoyed seeing my friends, but for the money there are a dozen other places to have an outstanding dinner.

I do like Bettola, and have been eating there since about four months after it opened. Inslata di erbe and toscano are my favorite salads, the calamari is excellent. Sugo Pomidoro is also good. I've tried various pizzas, anti-pasti, several different fish offerings, and have been pleased with almost everything. We eat there monthly, and will continue to do so. Several nights ago I was greatly disappointed in the parpadelle with chicken. We asked our waiter about it, not being familiar with the dish which was new this season. On hearing his description, we both ordered it. It didn't rise to the waiters description. When he managed to come back to check on us, which was not until we were finished eating what part of the dish we did eat, he was surprised that we didn't think it had much flavor, saying "When you both ordered the dish, I felt you must be familiar with it," even though we had questioned him fairly in depth about it. So far this bland dish, which doesn't reach the quality of anything else I've eaten there, has been my only disappointment. Never again for that one. I think I will also avoid the waiter in the future, since I'm fairly sure his word can't be taken for the dishes.

A few months ago, I shared my experience dining at Bettola and I commented that the service did not match the quality of the cuisine. I have gone back to Bettola recently and am reporting that I noticed much improvement in the professionalism, attitude and overall competence of the hosting and waiting staff. The gentleman who is at the entrance to greet guests and seems in charge of managing the restaurant must be credited for this welcome improvement. In addition, the merger of Vittoria and Bettola has more than doubled the seating capacity of the restaurant and the new bar provides a nice focus point and a comfortable place to wait for a table. Now that the service is reliable, I am looking forward to being a regular customer again!

Protein is hard to come by here. Carbs are not. The food is good--it is certainly not generic. The seating is "family" style. The waiters can be cold. We have been turned away for arriving 15-30 minutes before closing time, which was 9:00ish on a weekend. Pizzas are good. I like extra sauce on the side. I've had a few of the sandwiches--the one with lamb is a favorite.

Would not recommend. The ambiance is very nice, well decorated. Food is ridiculously overpriced for what you get. I asked for olives on my pizza and got olives... One per slice. There were 4 slices of pizza. And it cost me an extra $3. Now I know this is a 'fancy' place so I should expect to pay more, but the food was not satisfying. My pizza crust (which was the thickness of a tortilla) was soaked through with excessive olive oil. There are plenty of other nice restaurants in the city that are more worthy of your time and money.

Nope...just no. I was born with the ability to cook Italian despite not being the slightest bit Italian. However, many people like Bettola. Maybe they don't cook Italian? My husband's family has a better pizza dough recipe...and they are German. Personally, rabbit being on the menu isn't just creepy, it's gross. It's domestic rabbit - not wild, hunted rabbit. Yep, that means you're eating a "pet." FYI for those that may not know: wild rabbit and domestic breeds are not the same - they cannot interbred. So this is like having someone serve up a member of your household. I'm not a vegan, but I'm not from China either.

If you haven't heard this in my reviews before, born and raised in Brooklyn NY, where the pizza is second to none. Good pizza is about two things (in this order) crust and sauce. Crust here is a 9.5 out of 10. Wood burning oven, crust is thin (a hair too thin) and nice char on the edges. Sauce is a 10 out of 10. Not too thick, actually rather thin and flavorful as heck. Build your own antipasta, is right on the money. Parma Priscuitto is authentic, grilled eggplant, roasted peppers, fresh mozz, I would throw 4 or 5 olives on it to round it out but dats just me, I'm not sayin' I'm just saying. Nice Bread is served, a more flavorful Olive oil with the bread would be perfection. All in all, nothing so bad that would warrant 4 stars. This place is my new favorite pizza in B'Ham. Pizza, Antipasta, $29 Mixed drink was $8 (about a buck too high) I will be back (Maybe tomorrow LOL)

It's one of our favorites because the food is consistently good and there is usually a new special on the menu whenever we make it in. It is a little pricey for what you get but I think it's worth it because it has a great neighborhood feel and you can sit outside and not hear cars passing by... Pretty nice for a city restaurant.

This was one of the first dinner's I went to in AL. and I was very much pleased. I have been gone for 3 years now because I work in Atlanta, Ga. however, I have always remembered how good the food was and friendly the people were there. I will make a trip through AL. going to Texas and I am going to stop by and visit this resturant again. I am willing to drive on my off weekends to AL. 3 hours away to enjoy this environment. I really wished they were open on Sundays I could get there more often. But, it may not be open on Sundays due to religion beliefs or they need a day off. I can understand those reason. I really enjoy this place. Amazing food, people and enjoyment hoping I get this same feeling the end of Nov. when I arrive back there. Thanks Bettola for giving me a wonderful memory about your restaurant.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
