Went here last weekend. I came here to study and use the wifi, which didn't work. When I ordered my chicken sandwich, I got a vibe from the staff that they didn't want to be there. Not a friendly experience. If you have a job at least have a smile on your face. Anyways the sandwich was good. Coffee served black was ok, nothing special. What I liked most was the atmosphere and layout. Lots of corners with tables and benches with the feeling you're secluded in your conversation or books but still around a good bunch of people. I'd go back with the hopes I don't get a sigh from the staff when I walk in the door.

Everyone that works here is so nice and helpful, their pastries and drinks are all yummy, and it's such a relaxing place to meet with friends!

Hot breakfast is served here from 6:30-10AM. They have a great selection of pastries and the cinnamon rolls. I ordered the Italian Eggs as my breakfast item and the amount of cheese and bacon and vegetables in the scrambled egg was enough. The toast was perfect too. I really want to come back here and try their pancakes. I feel like they gimp you out on the tea. I asked if the tea just comes in a tea bag (so I can get refills of hot water later). They brew the tea themselves so you can only get a cup of tea and then be having to pay for refills because there's no bag. The Wi-Fi here is free but they really like to emphasize that you have to buy something in order to use it. The service here is nice and they're willing to make recommendations but I felt like they were impatient with me the entire time. It could've just been a bad day. For Auburn students who don't want to leap through huddles to get to the Starbucks in Opelika or on campus, this is a great place to go to.

Easily the best coffee shop in town. Great coffee, environment, food, wifi, etc. The staff is very friendly and a pleasure having conversations with. Prices were about starbucks level, but if you are there for several hours, the half priced refills on coffee help. If you are looking for a nice place to study/work, go here.

decent coffee shop. they're a little overprotective with their wifi. They seem to change the password often and you have to request it from them. otherwise, a decent study spot. the folks working there seem a little off. i get a vibe that they all belong to the same cult or something. they're nice for the most part, but somewhat distant.

I stopped by several coffee shops on my visit to Auburn, but none better than Toomer's. Located conveniently in the University Village strips on S. College St. with plenty of parking. The small shopping area appears to be newer and has a very attractive brick exterior. The first time I came here I accidentally bumped into it while shopping at J&M Bookstore. It ended up being a very nice find later in the week. The parking lot was clean, the sidewalk were clean and and a nice display was set up outside the store with a chalk board running specials of the day that was welcoming. I was immediately greeted each time I came in which is important to be when visiting any business. A young woman and a young man were probably my favorite duo that worked behind the counter on my final visit before heading home. They were both helpful through the week and could not have been more kind. The young woman smiled constantly which made me feel at ease in their comfortable surroundings. When you enter there is a bakery case and counter/check out area is to your left. To your right is a cozy space to sip your beverage and partake in the many goodies from the case. Carpeting is on the floor with older furniture, but it's soft and feels good to relax in. There is even a fireplace, it's not real but think atmosphere. Just enough tables and chairs are present to not feel cluttered. The entire front space feels much more like a family room with it's soothing green walls, it's the anti Starbucks even with the green walls. In the back is a decent size room that could be utilized for groups. I enjoyed the same coffee that I would usually have if going to a chain coffee shop. They made a great Grande White Chocolate Mocha that was a little sweeter than I was use to, but delicious. I found a seat and listed to some contemporary Christian music. I am unsure of their music selection changes on the day, but I only realized it on my last visit. For me this is a reason alone to choose this coffee shop. Pricing was in line with what I would expect, if not cheaper. I also sampled a few of their treats from the case. They offer a variety of cookies, muffins donuts and some other items on a rack. The display of them is underwhelming, but the taste made up for it and was pretty solid. I found the blueberry muffin to be more dry for my taste than I like, but still not bad. They also sell coffee by the bags as well as an area with local items such as jewelry, paintings, soap, sun block and honey. Every bit of the space for these products were tastefully displayed. I stopped in the restroom before departing and found them spic and span with soap and towels. The only issue and it's why a star got deducted was the sink in the Men's restroom was hanging about a half inch off the wall on it's hanger I presume. It revealed the previous color of paint and was just unattractive. As well I could not verify if it was possibly unsafe. For those coffee lovers in Auburn looking for a departure from other type of shops that might be college only hang outs this would be it! There is nothing wrong with others that cater to a young college crowd, however I prefer this type of environment hands down. I received great service, tasty coffee and solid pastries. Not to mention a clean and relaxing environment. I found all of the things I like in a coffee shop right here at Toomer's Coffee Co.

I see previous reviews where people have complained about them being a bit "snooty," hasn't been a case for me. But that could very much be luck of the draw with your barista. Found the prices to be a little steep, but it's a small business. I believe my 16oz medium iced coffee was just over $3. I try to support small family owned establishments over corporate type places (Starbucks, etc) and that's really what keeps me coming back. The music is good, they like to play some popular Contemporary Christian music sometimes. So, if you're "offended" by that, you should probably go elsewhere. Anyways, this is where I come to study. Better atmosphere than Starbucks and much more quiet. Give them a try, the coffee is good quality and worth the stop alone.

The raspberry chai latte is great. It's a fun, cozy atmosphere to study, and the owners are really nice. I've never had issues with the wi-fi.

The best vanilla chai I have ever had. All the baristas are super nice, too!
