I stopped in for breakfast while visiting. Food was good. The grits came out extra cheesy just the way I like. The bacon was great but a tad cold. Luvici's is the kind of restaurant in the kind of town where everyone knows your name. Very nice ambiance, friendly service, and a bonus to have free wi-fi. There is so much history here and I really like the photographs and memorabilia on the walls. A reliable spot for your meal in Athens.

Best place to eat in Athens Alabama. Breakfast cant be beat by anyone around. I use their steak seasoning on everything. It is a Santa Barbara style and is perfect!!!

This is a great restaurant to have a nice lunch. The ambience of the restaurant is great nice historical clean place. The food is good is not five star, but it's not a three star either. You will definitely get your money's worth. It's in the perfect location in downtown Athens after you eat take a little stroll and enjoy Athens.

Very very good food! Its a small place, but packs a lot of flavor! I really enjoy their fried green tomatoe that's stuffed with crawfish remoulade and blue cheese (sounds odd but wow its good!) I also like the Cuban sandwich they serve. I recommend this place to all my friends, go try it out! Check Out U.G. White Old General Store next door as well, cool place to shop!

I've been to this restaurant once. I wasn't disappointed by any sort of the word, but I also didn't leave the place feeling blown away and totally satisfied. The service was great, from what I remember anyway. The place is not huge but isn't too tiny so you aren't seated too close to fellow diners. Their menu is somewhat small, but sometimes simple is good. Makes the decision a little easier. The food was good, but not great so I think a 3-star review is fair. We live near here (within 10 miles), but I haven't gone out of my way to suggest going there with my husband.

I had the Bayou Chicken Skillet and pecan pie. Both excellent. Overall experience was excellent. I never expected to find a place like this in little Athens, AL.

Good food. Horrible service. The gumbo was tasty but the wait staff was incredibly slow to take orders, refill drinks, and follow up. Even brought the issue up to the manager to little avail. Give it a try if you're in Athens and maybe you'll have better luck.

Yes! Finally, a place I'll return to in Athens. Unfortunately, they close at 5:30 Monday thru Wednesday. Open till 8:30 Thursday thru Saturday. A bit pricier than all in Athens but the best dining I've had so far. I had a cup of the shrimp bisque, yum! This is their signature soup. I also tried their grilled Mahi sandwich, or sammich, if you're from around here. It was nicely grilled, slightly blackened, but tender throughout. A tangy sauce with a leafy topper (spinach?). The bun was homemade. The side was the beer battered fries. They had a choice of two other sides including sweet potato fries but I passed. To put this sandwich over the top, an offering of grilled veggies, or fruit would have been a great idea. Even if it added a little cost. I washed it down with Dr Pepper. The bill was $23, which is close to the Chicago prices I am used to but I can see that this is a special place for food in the town of Athens. Say hello to the owner, Jerry. He has had a restaurant in Athens for nine years. Ask him about his upcoming trip to South America. I'll drop back here again when I'm down here for work in the future. Explore Old Athens! Cheers Danno

The salads are great with chicken and salmon, and the back alley dog is great too. The service is phenomenal every time I've gone, and the down home atmosphere is something I really enjoy. The price is a little high, but I think it's worth it most of the time.

I stopped for breakfast here on some friends recommendations and good online reviews. I have to say, though, not terribly impressed. The atmosphere is TERRIFIC, it almost but not quite makes up for the food. But I found the breakfast very average, certainly not worth me driving over from Decatur. Though it was a weekday morning and therefore not very busy, my food arrived seeming like it had either sat in a pickup window for a LONG time or it was largely reheated stuff. The bacon was stone cold, not even a touch of warmth to it, the hash browns were undercooked and even the pancake seemed lukewarm. I was actually concerned the butter wasn't even going to melt on the very large biscuit which had the look, taste and texture of leftovers from the previous day. Definitely not worth a trip back, which is a pity because I'm a fan of prime rib and online reviews say this place has the best. But the very forgettable breakfast doesn't entice me enough to return and give it another try.

Super cute and charming. I wish I had time to walk through the hardware store. Totally a delightful structure to be in, The service was great! Very pleasant and prompt host and wait staff. I am not the biggest fan of the lunch menu, but I was won over with the catfish and hush puppies (with the right amount of onion, thank you). I ordered the fried corn as one of my sides and was disappointed. It was more cream corn, and appeared to have never touched a skillet. My macaroni and cheese was good, as was my PECAN PIE. As a connoisseur of desserts, I was more than pleased with the options. Ricotta cheese cake with fresh fruit topping, peach cobbler, apple pie ... it just got better and better. I would love to revisit and try other menu items!

Was not expecting country style cooking when I saw the name. The food was okay. One had shrimp & grits, which was loaded with bacon. You can swi in it but I guess that's what make shrimp & grits taste good (seasoned with bacon grease :p ) My vegetables tasted like frozen ones. The rolls were from Sister Schubert's rolls. One had steak, which that was bad on our part since this is not a steak house or anything. The steak was dried and overcooked. Though, the waitress was very nice.

Stopped in for breakfast - very good. Had the ham and cheese omlet - plenty of ham and the omlet was cooked perfectly. A couple biscuits came along with it - they were great; moist and just a little sweet.

I came for dinner and it was delicious! The fried green tomato appetizer was so yummy! It could've been a meal in itself. We brought our 2-year old and the wait staff was very accommodating. Everything was wonderful!

Although I've heard wonderful things about Luvici's for quite awhile now, this past month was the first time that I went to check it out for myself. The staff was excellent and the food...oh the food :) I had the Stuffed Meatloaf with fried corn, macaroni and cheese and mashed potatoes with gravy. And of course for dessert there had to be Banana Pudding! Carbs, carbs, carbs and every one of them were worth it. The meal was complimented with yummy cornbread. It was southern and it was delicious! I give it a 5 out of 5 rating!

Prime Rib Special first weekend of each month is amazing! MY hubby has eaten prime rib all over the country and says this is by far the best he's ever had. The cheesecake and other desserts are great. The staff is attentive and friendly. The lunch menu is also yummy. One of my favorite places.

Went to the reopening. The food was very good but too pricey. Paid 9.00 for lunch and left still hungry.

Limited menu. Go for lunch and not breakfast; their breakfast isn't very good. I wish they had more veggies to choose from at lunch. Portions aren't huge, good sweet tea. Service is a little slow and checking out at the front counter is slow.

I eat here every time I visit Athens, Al. The food is always great as is the wait staff. I love the meat and three sides, very southern. My husband is a huge fan of the cheeseburger. The deserts are all delicious. I have had breakfast many times and it to is hearty and tasty. The restaurant is in a nice turn of the century building on the square across from the Court House and is connected to E. G. Whites, an antique hardware store full of cute gift ideas.
