Came here for lunch and was very happy with the end result....except for one thing. That one thing did not mess everything up though and this BBQ was legit! I placed my order for a large pork plate ($8.99) with beans and fries. The plate also came with a slice of white bread and a piece of pound cake. I ordered a soda (I have noticed that Alabama is Pepsi country for the most part). Total was around $11.00 after tip and everything. Here is how the food stacked up. Pork- Absolutely delicious! They give you a huge mound of moist, pinkish smoked pork. They have 3 sauces, hot, mild and sweet. I mixed the sweet and hot together and it was a perfect combo. This was some of the better pork I have had! I will come back before too long to get this again. Beans- Beans were pretty good. They looked kind of like they came out of the can but they had pieces of onion and meat in them so they were actually pretty good. Fries- Probably the worst fries I have ever had. No joke...they were nasty. Pretend you got a bag of frozen fries and reached in and grabbed a handful and threw them on the counter to defrost. Then served them. Thats what these were like. They were almost raw potatoes that were lukewarm/cold. I don't know how you can even serve these things lol. Pound Cake- This was a nice touch to be included in the meal. Pound cake is always good and this was top notch. Service was friendly and they got your meal together really quick. The pork was excellent, beans were good, pound cake tasty and the Pepsi was cold. I will be coming back for the pork...it was really really good!

Excellent pork and ribs, they melted in my mouth. Get the sweet sauce it is nummy. Oh and my favorite thing was the corn on the cob, soooooo good. The only complaint I have is the tiny napkins, they don't work well with BBQ. And the floor really wanted me to stay aka it was sticky. Great place in the middle of nowhere Bama, give it a go!

My boyfriend and I just stopped in for lunch and it was so yummy! W'e're on a long road trip and this was by far the best random meal we've had. Really nice staff, too. The hot bbq sauce was our favorite. If you are hungry and in the area, this is the place you should go to!

Barbecue was great. I had chicken. Awesome sauce (I got mild, should have gotten hot). Potato salad is solid, good flavor and not soupy with sauce. Not a huge fan of the cole slaw but nothing I can complain about with it. Another perk: one of the cleanest BBQ places I've ever been in. Will come back.

Love the taste of their meat. The BBQ plate is a must have. 2 sides and a piece of pound cake come with the BBQ plate. Always come here when I'm in town from Indiana. No BBQ compares to this.

What an amazing surprise! Love love this place! My husband and I visited AL and saw this on yelp. Ordered the pork plate, large, which came with 2 sides and a pound cake. I had some corn on the cob plus sweet potato fries-- totally loved it! The flavor of the meat was amazing! The only downside were their sauces though. They had a sweet kind and a spicy one. So we got two, the sweet was like just ketchup, the spicy had a little kick on it. My hubby got the steak plate which was soooo good! The meat was smoked and the flavor was just awesome! My hubby could only complain that the ribs plate (large) should've been more for the price. Some classy locals were dining when we got there. They even had a drive-through! ; ) Overall, would come back again if only we were near! Great job everyone from Hook's!
