Let me start by saying I travel regularly with my 3 small children alone. I have owned, managed and cleaned my own vacation rentals in Hawaii for several years. We are currently on a road trip from Boston to Anchorage and stayed in Tok a week ago in a run down hotel (snowshoe) in town because it was the only place available. I made sure to book the Caribou Cabins on our way back through Tok. The owner was so nice to book me last minute and arranged for my late night arrival. There is a big sign on the highway that easily leads you to the cute cabins. I pulled up and loved the outside and was so happy with the inside. It was CLEAN!!! I never let me kids bathe in hotel bath tubs but the jacuzzi tub and the whole cabin were very clean. I am also allergic to dogs and was worried because they allow pets here. But I was so happy to see zero pet evidence in the cabin. The cabin was well equipped with everything you would need. The continental breakfast was a nice added bonus. And I love that it is served all day so that we didn't have to rush and could sleep in. The decor was cute and looked like a cabin in the woods should look. I highly recommend this place to anyone driving through Tok!

We stayed in a lot of cabins, and out of all of them, these were probably one of the best ones. Having gone through this trip, the class of cabins you have varies wildly, and some can be pretty poor in quality, but the idea of driving into the wilderness, staying in wooden cabins, and stepping out in the crisp Alaskan air is second to none. Caribou Cabins was one of the newer, better built cabins in our trip. It was really solid and clean. The cabins were not stacked right next to each other, and each one had enough space to maintain privacy and parking space. Had the weather cooperated, we could have even seen the Aurora Borealis from there. Although Alaska is in the continental United States. You're frequently out of cell phone signal range. Caribou has free wifi available, which is great to map out the next leg of your journey. There's a nice breakfast spread in the morning, yogurt, cereal, fruit, toast, juice, and coffee. After long hours on the road, Caribou Cabins is a nice place to recharge and unwind.

Price was right, and the accomodations were warm and welcoming. We stayed in the Denali Cabin, which had a nice Jacuzzi Tub in the room. The bed was comfortable, but the blackout shades could have been a little better covering--not that bothersome though. Our host was friendly and there to take care pf things immediately when we arrived. Breakfast was continental, with toast, bagels, cereals, yogurt, juices, bananas, danishes/doughnuts, and microwaveable sausage wraps and sandwiches. Our opinion--the jacuzzi was worth the extra $30 bucks compared to the hotels in the area.

Spent the night here on our way to Fairbanks from the lower 48. WE LOVED IT! The price was great and the cabins more than exceeded our expectations. With an abundant breakfast spread as well as in cabin satellite tv and wifi, how could we go wrong! My only complaint was that the pillows were thin, but there were plenty of extras so we just stacked up. My husband and I plan to return without the kids while we are stationed in Alaska.

Very clean and comfortable cabins. Owners are nice and were helpful, made sure we had everything we needed. Location is very safe and parking a trailer was no problem because they have a loop just for trailers.
