Absolutely the best place to stay. The lodging is beautiful and the hosts are fantastic. Rachel accommodated the various schedules and served wonderful hot breakfasts, changing her menu daily. Girdwood, a charming mountain town with a premier ski resort, is the perfect location for taking day trips to Whittier, Seward, Cooper Landing. Rooms are comfortable with heated floors and the separate kitchen for guests to use was appreciated.

We stayed with Rachel June 2015 during our road trip across Alaska. Rachel was quick to respond to our reservation request which started things off on a great foot. When we arrived she graciously showed us around and gave as a brief overview of Girdwood. As part of the B&B association for Gridwood, she offered us discounts to a few of the local restaurants which was a very nice touch. Overall the rooms were very nice and they all had private bathrooms which was nice. Not all B&B's have private bathrooms in Alaska! All the rooms for the B&B are on the first floor and the hosts live on the 2nd. Breakfast was at 8:30AM and was delicious. Full breakfast with homemade granola, an egg dish, potatoes, and muffins! Rachel has a cat and a dog, both of which are super friendly. I can safely say that I recommend staying at the Carriage House for your stay in Girdwood!
