I dont care what anyone else says. Best burgers in town! Everything is always fresh. (Never a mealy tomato in sight!) The buns are soft and homemade (which you smell when you walk in) The fries are okay, but im picky about fries. The shakes are great as well and you can choose just about any flavor you can imagine. The customer service is..... meh. But the food 100% makes up for it! Definitely worth going!

If I could survive on burgers alone......I would Wee B's has a pretty fantastic burger but I would suggest dining in as the burger gets pretty soggy and messy in the bag so by the time you get to where you are going its not up to par. They have a great variety of toppings and meat which I love. The fries are real hand cut fries which many people are not used to but they keep some of the skins on and I like that as well so this place is pretty good as burgers go, not the BEST as I am still looking for that. Just FYI the owner does NOT like you to hold items off or change the burger toppings in any way and will actually tell you no if you ask to hold the pickles, or lettuce or whatever you don't like so you have to pick them off later, luckily i live my burger with EVERYTHING!!

Old school burger joint.....homemade bun.....shut the front door!!!! When have u had a homemade bun burger...... Nothing trendy or fancy here just a good old school burger! And u can get buffalo or elk burger...I dig it for its simplistic approach to a good old fashion burger....reminds me of the burgers we ate as kids

I passed by this place and was intrigued by the old school drive thru appearance. I came back to check it out and ordered a 1/4 lb elk (you can also get beef or buffalo) jalapeno cheese burger (no sauce, which they say is like 1000 island), a small order of fries, and a small blackberry shake. Wow, it hit the spot! The burger was pretty good...it was hard to tell that the patty was lean, which is a good sign. The pickled jalapenos were good, but a bit overwhelming, and the cheesiness was lost. So maybe I'd go with a simple cheeseburger next time. The bun wasn't toasted, but it was soft, and I could tell that it was homemade. The fries are some of my favorite sort: darker, pieces of peel left on, and crispy. The shake was pretty good, but I got a big chunk of ice (maybe from frozen blackberries?) that kind of detracted from it. They have so many options though! Blueberry, raspberry, mocha, chocolate, peanut butter, pineapple, butterscotch. Definitely would try another shake, and would recommend the food overall. The only real downside is $16 for three items at a fast food place, but Alaska is not cheap.

A very nice place where you can get delicious buffalo or elk burgers and the best part is everything here is home made. From their fries to their shakes to their burgers, even their buns! The food is great. The place is clean and the staffs are very friendly. They even have a drive -thru! It's old fashioned appearance only adds to the rustic and vintage ambiance of this well-loved local burger joint in Anchorage. When in Alaska, it's definitely the place to go to satisfy your burger cravings!

Ordered an Elk 1/2 lb jalapeño bacon cheese burger with fries and Blackberry shake to go. Placed bag on passenger seat. Drove 10 minutes to my hotel. Lifted up bag and bottom ripped out with half my burger falling out on to seat. The sauce had soaked thru the burger wrapper and the bag. This is totally unacceptable. Had it fallen on my clothes they would of received a nice dry cleaning bill. I scooped it all together and had to carry the food in with 2 hands. The burger was very tasty. Fries were a little bland. Shake was good. Perhaps go to styrofoam or thicker wrappers?? Review would of been a 3 with out mishap.

Wow! What a pleasant surprise! I often hear this place mentioned as a stand-out burger joint in Anchorage, but usually after mentioning a couple other spots first. It seems like it's no one's "#1" spot, but it's in the "top 5" of many. And...I have NO IDEA why! This place is fantastic! They serve a fast food-y, malts-and-fries-y type of burger. And for that type of burger, I think they may have the best in town! What I love most about this place is the location: It's located right off the hwy, right before heading into the Turnagain Arm. Perfect for when you want to spend the whole day outside but realize on the way out that you are chronically hangry and didn't bring anything with you but trailmix and water! AND they have a drive-through! I got a 1/2 lb buffalo jalapeño cheese burger. It was perfect. I think the mayo adds a ton of bonus flavor to the burgers here (not for everyone though, lots of mayo haters out there). The burger had two ¼ lb patties and a perfect mix of toppings for that satisfying burger meat/pickle-crush mouthfeel. I didn't get any fries, so I cannot vouch for them either way. I *DID* see big boxes of Idaho potatoes through the drive-through window though, so I'm betting they are pretty legit. PROTIP: don't try to drive and eat one of these burgers at the same time. Bad things happen to good people.

Ok...I'm not a super huge burger chick, I mean I try and stay away from non organic beef, and copius amounts of grease, but sometimes a greasy burger just hits the spot and lets face it, it's just downright comfort food at its finest. Soo Wee B's I like a lot for burgers! I've been to Arctic Roadrunner and several other places, but Wee B's has buffalo burgers and they let me order them without the bun. Buffalo is minimally processed and not loaded with a ton of hormones and chemicals. It's also a very lean meat so its tasty and not quite as greasy as a regular beef burger. Wee B's uses fresh ingredients, their buns are handmade, and the burgers hand shaped. Fries are also hand cut, and their shakes use real ice cream, and natural flavoring so they taste awesome! Old school, soda shop like, and not all chemically and gross. When I'm really wanting a burger I swing by and get the "bun free" 1/2 lb bacon buffalo cheeseburger. It is always great, ask for the secret sauce to go with it if you get the bun free one. It comes with the two burger patties with cheese and bacon on top, and lettuce, tomato, and chopped onion on the side. I have also had it with the bun which I like, but I just try and avoid a lot of bread so sometimes skip it. I rarely order fries, but have had them here before. If you like real french fries, the kind your momma used to make, home made, in the frying pan, then you will love theirs. It's the full meal deal if your looking for a traditional burger, fry, and shake meal! OH and just an FYI. They make everything fresh so the drive through is slow. Inside takes a little while but is not unreasonable and worth it for a yummy burger. You order at the counter and then take a seat with your number. They call you when its ready. As for the decor its nothing to rave about. A bit dated, and just simple booths and tables. The employees are always friendly and nice from my experience.

Great quick burgers fries and shakes. Thanks for good service and better than average burger takeout!

We waited for 30 min at the drive-in after placing our order. When we asked for our food the second time they suddenly 'found' it. We received our food cold. They basically let us wait until our order was cold. The cheese of the burgers was burnt black. Never again.

This place is good, even for foodies. Probably the only " drive through" place I will goto. Better then the nearby overpriced sit down restaurant burger. I recommend the elk burger with bacon. Their fries are good too.

They were extremely over priced and super slow service. I don't think I will be going back.

This is a good old fashioned burger place, and that's fine by me! My buffalo mushroom burger was seasoned well, and the buns are really good. I wasn't sold on the fries though. I'm not a big fan of these type of darker fries... I find them to be bitter and soft, but I know what they were going for. The place is clean, and the staff very friendly.

Food was great but I found a plastic bread tie in my burger! :( it was still good but I was alittle shocked to pull something hard and plastic out of my mouth! Pls pay more attention when making burgers! I could of died lol

Alright. So I was pretty skeptical about going to a place that had a funny name. But I have lived in Alaska all my life, so I figured what the hell. I walked in the door and was greeted by the glorious smell of real grease, not that vegetable crap, wafting on the breeze. It was then I noticed that I had went back in time to the 1970s and was not disappointed. I ended up chatting with an older gentleman, and we talked about times of days gone by. Then the food came, dear sweet Christmas the food. It smelled of real beef and had two decently sized patties in between two buns that had soaked up all the grease they were transparent. The first bite I was greeted by a chorus of angels from upon high that had just come down to watch me eat this food article they could not enjoy. As I continued, I realized that I could not keep up with a conversation with the person I had come with and we just enjoyed our food making noises most people would use during vigorous intercourse. I actually lost the use of my pants during the whole ordeal, which is saying something. All in all that was the best burger I would have eaten in the last 15 years. All the other reviews are based on some other superficial excrement when you should really vote with your food. You will not be disappointed.

The food is delicious . Way better than McDonald's & Burger King . . this week I've been there twice because the burgers are just delicious

Better places to eat a burger. Fries limp and greasy and large order really small. Atmosphere is terrible. I won't be back. Cheese bacon burger too full of mayonnaise and relishes that fell apart when tried to eat it.

Food is always good! When I crave a burger, I go to Wee Bee's. Service is always great and the employees are wonderful.

For someone who doesnt like fast food and cant digest what McDonalds or Burger King puts out, this place is exceptional at making good quality burgers. They also bake their own bun! That in itself is half of the reason I come here. Fresh veggies on the burgers and adding cheese, mushrooms, or another extra isnt a hassle. Their burgers are fairily large as well; decently priced for what you receive. My dad and I usually share the half pound reindeer burger with mushrooms and cheese. It fills up both of us. Their BBQ sauce isnt half bad either!

I drive by this place every time I visit my relatives in Alaska and this time I decided to try it. We had a 1/2 lb buffalo burger that was actually a double 1/4 pounder (you can get beef, or for a few dollars extra you can have buffalo or elk, apparently) and the burger was excellent. It's hard to tell buffalo from beef, so if you don't need the experience you could just forgo the extra couple of bucks and get beef. The fries were thin-cut right from the potato with skins on and cooked perfectly. The majority of the fries had two or three stuck together so they ended up being wide flat strips. I really liked the fries; I just can't tell if they were intentionally cut that way or the chopping machine was out of alignment. As others mentioned they run out of ice cream. We were there at 1pm or so and couldn't get a shake. The patient and friendly help recommended a double chocolate ice rage and it was pretty much just like a chocolate shake. I docked the place two stars because like almost every other reviewer I found the interior borderline disgusting. I don't mind the fact that it's run down at all - what I mind is the fact that every table was dirty. We were at the tail end of lunch and there were only about three tables occupied and every open table was quite dirty. We hunted for the least dirty one can cleaned it with napkins and water. It would be such a simple management change to have someone wipe down tables every 15-30 minutes. If clean, the place would have been an easy 4 stars.

Soggy fries, mushy hot wings, grease laden take-out bag! Ewww. My 6yr old son loved his burger though! Never again!

Great burgers and fries. The house sauce is great and there are a lot of options other than burgers as well. The buns seem to be house made and fresh!

While I was in Anchorage I went here 4 times. The special sauce on the burgers was amazing. The staff are friendly and the place is clean. The food was quite exceptional. Go here and you will not be disappointed.

messed up my order, did not discover it until i arrived home to eat it. The disgruntled guy behind the counter cooking the food was troublesome to watch while making my food. yelling and throwing stuff around. The restaurant has the air of an almost dead, dont eat here feeling when you walk in. i should have just trusted my gut instinct.

Loved the burger and bun. There is an old man that makes the buns there daily and meat is good. All very fresh. We liked it. Interior dated to the 80's but pretty clean.

Only been there one time and really liked it. Thought about the buffalo burger but went standard. Nice people too. I'll be trying it again soon.

I've been to Wee B's a few times, and each time I"ve enjoyed the burgers. The bison burger is really good, and I love their fries.. I 'think' they are hand cut but I could be wrong. It IS a fast food place, so do realize that. It's nothing terribly fancy, but the food is good.

We just ate here earlier and the food was good. The fries were pretty fantastic but the mayonnaise on our sandwiches was laid on pretty thick...half the mayo and the sandwiches would have been perfect. The reason why I am giving three stars is because the old man working in the back (the owner perhaps?) is clearly losing his mind. First, we waited FOREVER for our food. Then, not only did he forget to make one of our burgers, when the girl up front told him he just got pissed at her. Yeah, thats really effective. So then we waited 15 more minutes for the burger. THEN we asked about it again...and I guess he got so upset during his previous temper tantrum that he completely forgot that he was supposed to be making the burger. So we told him just to give us our money back for the burger but he refused and said he'd make it. So, after about 5 more minutes we finally got our burger with an insincere "sorry". I mean, any other place would have offered SOMETHING to apologize for us waiting 20 extra minutes. But whatever. The poor girl working up front was really nice, but definitely seemed frustrated. I can't blame her. And no free refills? Give me a break.

***UPDATE*** Not sure when this exactly happened, but the inside has been cleaned up quite a bit. ANNNNNND they now take credit/debit cards (minumum $5 charge). I also noticed a couple of new faces, but the food is still the same which what really matters to me.

This is a good lunch. Home made fry's and great burger. Beat out the other fast food joints.

Now accepting Credit/Debit! ($5 minimum) Great burgers and skin on fries - much better than the other burger chains around the area. They have a Drive Thru but it takes a few minutes for them to take the time and cook each order fresh.

I stopped in because I heard their burgers were really good. Except I ended up ordering a taco and some cheese fries - still, not bad! My food was really satisfying and had that certain something to it that you want without the mainstream fast food taste. You can tell this place has been around for a long time and they seem to have a steady flow of customers. They also serve homemade cookies and pies, though I didn't get a chance to try them. I wouldn't mind stopping by again the next time I come back to Anchorage.

Haven't been there since 1992 but been thinking about your hamburgers ever since:) I hope to make it that way sometime soon.

I really wish Jim Bucky (the owner) would take the money that he is spending on radio ads and spend it updating the dining room of this restaurant. I have eaten here a couple times and have been turned off by the rundown appearance of the interior. The booths are broken, the floor is peeling in places and the general appearance gives the place an unclean feeling. If people feel icky when they enter the place they are not going to feel conformable eating the food. Although the food was good.

    (2)
  • Mike J.

The burgers are okay, the "home-cut" fries are awful - limp and greasy. The restaurant is filthy. We visited at 1pm on a Saturday, the dining room floor had food scraps, bits of trash, and a layer of dirt. Looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a week. The catsup squeeze bottles had old crusted catsup on them. Not going back.

So, Wee Bee's burgers are fantastic, yum...I'm craving one right now and plan to go get one as soon as the boyfriend is ready, but the dining area is disgusting. You feel like you need a bath after sitting at one of their crummy, sticky tables. I didn't want to use the ketchup because I imagine there are things I don't want to know about crawling around inside the bottle, but man, the burgers are so good that I'll go back, I just won't go back as often as I would if they'd remodel that dining area. If the dining area were cleaner and nice to look at, I'd have given this place 4 stars. I'd give it 5 stars if the teenage crew was less into gossiping by yelling across to one another across the room and more into customer service. I have to wonder what Robert C has against the fries though, I guess I'll try them tonight and decide! **Edit** So, I just tried the fries, they're freshly cut potatoes with the skin still on them, they could definitely use another minute in the deep fryer and some seasoning, but good nonetheless. Also, I have decided that you have to get a double meat burger to get the full wee bee's experience because tonight's burger wasn't as awesome as that first guy that I ate.

Im a bit disappointed but not sure about their consistency so it might be a rare thing. Whenever I see an ugly beat up burger joint, I always start salivating. I usually think to myself: "They dont need to update the place because people probably go there anyways! Thats how they stay in business. The food not the look of the place!" well, the burger and fries I had were very bland. I do not want to give it less than 3 stars because they were efficient and polite, but the food was not great. I will try to go again before leaving Alaska because with an ugly joint with an ugly name like that, its got to be good! right? I hope next time will be better.

Addictive mushroom burgers, fries, and blackberry milkshakes. Slow service, but worth waiting for. Definitely money well-spent.
