My husband I went there last night with his parents. When we walked in there were 2 people at the bar and 1 table by the front window. The sign said wait to be seated so we waited, and waited, and waited. Finally the server that was attending to the front table came over and seated us. He said I don't know where anyone else is. There was only 1 other table in the dining area. The peanuts on the table had something like chicken strips or something in it, that was disgusting. The waitress took her time coming over. She took our drink orders and then disappeared for a while. When we finally did get to order it took 30 minutes or more for the food to come . She never came back to see if we needed refills so I was quite thirsty. She brought us our bill and my father in law took money out of his pocket right away and she walked away. He looked at me and asked she did say that she would be the cashier right? After 15 minutes she finally came back and took his money about another 15 minutes she finally brought back the change. Now I usually have an iron stomach but I didn't manage to keep that meal down. Sanford's is now off of our list of places to eat.

New salad bar is really cramped, not maintained and unappetizing. Even after the manager was informed it needed attention, it took two requests to get the mgr to respond AND there were very few patrons at the time. Service was good, but they must be trying to squeeze every last bit out of their deep frying oil as the fried food tasted nasty. This place used to be good, but not now!

Once again Sanfords you come up short on service at what is otherwise a very mediocre diner. One very poorly trained server left to flail by himself mid afternoon happy hour. The manager came out looked around at the people standing at the door and scampered back to the back to hide. Sad.

This place is OK. But just ok... The downtown one is a lot better than the east side. Only go if you would like to sit down with a beer and wait a while, a long while for your food. Not a quick bite for lunch type of place.

went there this weekend when I was visiting friends. The fried mushrooms were very very very good. My dish was the burn baby burn chicken and it was pretty tasty except it was salty. My friends had the shrimp po'boy and the fried fish and it was very good. The only problem was the service, it was slow. Two tables that sat down after us got their food before us. we actually had to ask abotu our food. Once we did that we had our food within 2 minutes. the atmosphere was very neat, it was done up in retro garage and cars. The kids loved it. I would go here again if I am ever up in casper again.

Looks like this is the bar where the handful of "alt" folks come to hang out in Casper - Place is full to the brim with retro decor and hosts live music - Did not try the food, but the beer was - well.. beer. 3 stars for supporting local music and fun ambiance.

Bad Service. I came here with my best friend and his family a couple of times and one experience was alright and the other one was just horrific. Our food came out cold, asked for a rare steak and got medium well, gave me the wrong drink. But yea, nothing real special about it. Full bar, decent food, and slightly over priced

What is there in Casper after 5? Not too much.... I went down to 2nd street and found most businesses closed, there was an odd abundance of movie theaters, but no bookstores, coffee shops, shopping really stayed open. I happened upon this pub while looking for anything of interest. The menu is not for those suffering from high cholesterol! I enjoyed the 'What Came First' chicken sandwich along with these awesome fried potatoes (Freddies I think). They also had AWESOME beer rates, I enjoyed quality beer at $2 a pint, and you could get the cheaper standard bud light beers for only a dollar a pint. The restaurant was decked out with Wyoming license plates, assorted signs and eclectic if not eccentric decorations. I recommend it :)

So, my original review for these places were removed, because apparently there was "inappropriate content" on them... So I am bitterly copy/pasting my old review and reposting them. Cheers. Nothing special... Fair burgers, over sized plates. Food is acceptable. specially considering the cost, and being in Casper. Decent beer selection, but nothing out of the ordinary. Junkyard decor... Kinda neat, if it didn't look so filthy and I wasn't afraid of the dust that gathers everywhere.

While it is a theme restaurant and that alone should make it a bad restaurant by virtue of its existence. Though this is not the case, the service at Sandford's Grub and Pub is decent and usually proficient in how they deal with the customers. The paper towels situated by the tables is a nice touch too. The food consists of burgers, and the occasional Cajun dish such as Jambalaya. One of the best dishes that is served at Sandford's Grub and Pub is the Atomic Burger which is served with diced Jalapeno peppers. Also the fries and freddies are good too as they can be served with Cajun seasonings. All in all this is a decent eatery in Casper, WY.

My daughter and I were recently on road trip, and had decided we'd try and find the best burger at each state. Having mostly done detoxing throughout the journey, Casper would have been a bread in our, thus far, healthy diet, and by the time we entered the pub that evening, we were starving. As soon as we entered, we were told that the kitchen was closed by the adorable server. We begged. We pleaded. I'll admit - shamelessly so. However, no sooner had we started this when he saw the chef/manager come into the pub and decided he'd ask him on our behalf to wrangle us up something in the kitchen. Not only did he do this for us, but he even invited us to join him for a BBQ he was having at his house that night. Well, we had to get an early start the next day, but otherwise, we'd have loved to join. He served us some DELICIOUS patties, and he did it all with s smile. I will forever have fond memories of Sanford's Grub Pub, as I'm sure will my daughter, and if I ever find another, I'm so there.

The service was fine. The menu was oversized and hard to read. The portions were smaller than I had expected and not all that tasty, somewhat dry and bland. I did enjoy their Sanford's Oilcan ale, a nice dry hopped style brown ale.

Okay we went we saw and we aren't going back again. The service was slow and the place was not even crowded. I tried to flag the waitress down 3 times before she actually looked at me and we got a refill on our drinks. The food.....well my husbands burger was so dried out it was unreal. he sent it back and the second one came out just like the first. I had one of thier salads and there was brown lettuce on the plate.... pathetic food and pathetic service.

I'm giving this location 2 stars based on the fact that my elderly parents were dining with me, and they got a kick out of all the old school signs, magazine covers, photographs, and other memorabilia plastered all over the walls. I should be rating it 1 star, though, based solely on the experience with our server, Julia. She was inattentive, apathetic, and unfriendly, but most annoying of all...she was SLOW. My parents and I were in Casper to be with my sister, who was having major surgery at the medical center there. After a lengthy surgery which got a late start, we were STARVING. The nurse recommended Sanford's, but she directed us to the other location, near the Flying J. I suspect that location has better service, based on the fact that she recommended we go to that location rather than the one downtown, just blocks from the hospital. I wish we would have listened! We walked into Sanfords and were seated immediately. Julia visited our table and took our drink order, and then disappeared for literally FIFTEEN MINUTES. Under what dire circumstances does it require fifteen minutes to serve up two beers and a glass of water? The restaurant was half empty, and we were seated near the kitchen, so I could see our server flitting about in there, probably doing her side work. Once we placed our order, it took twenty-five minutes to arrive at our table. Again. Where in the world is this appropriate? At a busy, crowded restaurant in downtown Denver where the servers actually have some hustle? Maybe. In downtown Casper, WY in a half empty restaurant at 9 p.m. on a Wednesday? Not so much. Few complaints about the food, although by the time it reached us, my dad joked that he was about to eat his empty beer glass. My dad had the monte cristo, which was tasty. My mom had a BLT, which was mostly good, save for some super-gristly bacon. I had a french dip. Yummy. After Awesome Julia dropped off our food, we didn't see her again until I finally flagged her down for the check. And, I know you're not gonna believe this, but it was another TEN MINUTES between the time she took our credit card and the time she dropped it at the table. By this time, the restaurant was nearly empty. I have NO IDEA what the hold up was. Is it a Wyoming thing? Is it a Sanford's thing? Is she just the worlds' worst server? I'm not really sure. I can tell you, though, that we waited, without exaggeration, twice as long as we should have, for everything. SUPER LAME. Oh, and as we walked out, a couple of guys were walking out right behind us. They headed the other way down the sidewalk and one of them said, loudly, "That waitress SUCKED!" Indeed. Thanks for the love, Julia!
