Best donuts in Ohio. Period. Maybe I'm biased because that's just what I grew up on and am therefore most used to, but I still measure all doughnuts against this shop. There's also an outpost in Athens, but unless things have changed in the past several years, the only bakery is at the Belpre location and so those are the freshest. I particularly recommend the sour cream donuts (an old-fashioned...only available certain days of week), the glazed, and the Bavarian cream filled. Worth a stop on your way through town (and again on your way back through).

Fairly routine donut shop. The cake was dry. I ordered a sausage biscuit which arrived quickly...from the microwave. Frozen biscuits in West Virginia. What is the world coming to.

So I decided to be a little adventuresome looking for a sweet treat in Parkersburg and the answer was McHappy's Bake Shoppes. I picked up 2 donuts, a Maple Cream Bar (the cream is stuffed inside and is like a light icing but not too sweet) and a Mad Dog (a powdered donut bar with coconut filling). Both donuts were some of the best I have ever had. If you are looking for a donut or sweet snack, this place is a great stop.

Disgusting - to the point where we threw out what we were eating right then and there. The frozen drink we ordered were overpriced and tasted like powdered plastic. The donuts tasted stale and full of preservatives. Might as well gone to a gas station.

My family all agreed that we needed to make a late-night run to satisfy our sweet tooth urges. My brother in law ran out very late at night and brought back a McHappy's giant glazed donut- it was the size of a cake and meant to be cut into slices. The donut was very tasty but certainly not the best I've ever tasted. He also brought home some Oatmeal Raisin cookies. The smell of the cookie cannot be described; It was the best cookie I have ever tasted.

Donuts. It is no longer food only for police officers. Police officers might know where the donuts are at, but I know that the best donuts are here. Located in a small area of West Virginia and Ohio, McHappy's makes donuts appear like gourmet food. To quote the Thomas's English Muffin Girl, "It makes my mouth wuootah" As soon as you walk in, the smell is intoxicating. There is a wide array of donuts, and the one that I recommend the most is the maple cream bar. For a late night snack, this is where you take the pack. Bon appetit!
