I took my grandmother to eat at Mary b's for the first time today. I will take my husband back soon. The food was great and well priced. The staff were friendly and helpful. The only complaint I have is the limited seating. I am sure they hear it all the time. My grandmother and I had to wait standing right by the door with tables as close as one foot away. I felt like I was intruding on their dinner it was hard to not look at everyone while we waited about 5 - 10 minutes for a table.

Do you want an omelette the size of your (well, a small Asian girl's) head? Do you like being stuffed to the gills after breakfast and not having to eat for the rest of the day? If so, this is your place. Sasha S. has it right when she says "this is not a health food sort of place." I had the Denver omelette, which came with hash browns and toast (and could not finish my toast [and I love toast]). Disgustingly full is not one of my favourite feelings, so I personally would steer away from this place in the future. There are plenty of people who would (and do) love it though!

Save your time and money...go somewhere else. Food is cold and undercooked, and the staff is utterly disappointing. The last two times we are here, we left furious as well. We have eaten here for years, and there has been some things change and not for the better, I'm afraid. The table behind us and the table beside us had issues with cold food, table behind us had undercooked food as well.

We were traveling from NC to OH and it was lunchtime, 2:00PM. I "Yelped" restaurants nearby. 5 minutes off the interstate and we found this awesome country folk restaurant. Everything everyone got looked YUMMY! Give Mary B's a try next time you're passing through.

As soon as you walk in you'll notice there is not much room or seating. It's very cramped in the restaurant, but the food was great. I wouldn't try and come in if they're busy or you'll be standing for a while. Took a good bit for the food to come out, but the staff was very friendly and kept our glasses full.

Went for lunch on our way to Marietta. Fair warning: this is not a health food sort of place. It's more of a diner-dive type. My husband got a huge dripping burger and I got the Reuben. He offered me a bit of his, but then I would've had to give him a bite of mine, and that wasn't happening. It was on a toasted rye crusted with a bit of garlic butter, I'd say, coated in corned beef and swiss with the sauced and falling out all over my plate. Couldn't put it down once I picked it up and I was MOANING while I was eating it. We'll definitely be back!

The food is good. But the overall attitude of the waitresses and staff is ridiculous. RUDE!!!! The food can be usual pretty greasy, nothing but old church going people anyways. Not really a place for young couples or young people on general. Very small place, always crowded. I'd prefer to go to Cracker Barrel.

I absolutely love the food they have there! Amazing rolls the size of a soda can. Baked steak is so amazing! Service is great as well! Prices are very good as well!

Charming little diner that is definitely not we expected; on the other end of the diner is an adult store. The service was excellent and the food beyond compare. I ordered Mary B's breakfast which consisted of two eggs, bacon, and a pancake. I also ordered a side of fried potatoes. Everything was cooked just right and served promptly. The vacinity was small, but charming, and the atmosphere definitely made it feel like you were right at home.

Best comfort food in Parkersburg, period. Biscuits - awesome. Just go and see for yourself.

Mary B's review for 2.2.12 General description: casual locally owned place, average décor. Nothing special. But small space was arranged well. Into: the prices have improved a good bit since we last went there sometime in mid-2010. They are on average 3-4 dollars cheaper. There seemed to be a bit more to choose from as well. Order 1 (mine): I ordered the hillbilly omlete without the peppers and onions. It was pretty good for an omlette, was cheaper (4USD) then omlette shop's and tasted better as well. Mine had ham, bacon, and sausage, and cheese. The ham was smokey tasting, the sausage was pretty spicy and had a lot of taste unlike mcdonald's LOL.... the egg's consistancy was great. However the bacon was too crispy and didn't taste very good. Too burnt tasting. Order 2 (my husband's) he had some kinda burger and another sandwitch (ham and turkey club) and he was satisfied. Portion sizes were very generous and prices were better then any sit downs in the area for that item. No complaints at all. Fries were good. order 3 (sister's): she had a breakfast bowl type deal with the usual breakfast fixins and she kinda liked it but the eggs were burnt and the bacon was too crispy. Otherwise, ok. Service: prompt and friendly. Sister's item was too burnt and she promptly resolved and got her some simple eggs and those were good, as well as only charging for the replacement and not the main dish she initially had. Refills were prompt as well they did a good job at keeping my coffee cup full. Overall rating: mine---4.5 stars husband---4.5 sister's---4.5 I would recommend this place.

My in-laws took us to Mary B's for a late breakfast/early lunch when we arrived in WV. This place is classic diner, including the abrupt waitresses. I had a classic diner grilled cheese and French fries and they were exactly what I wanted them to be. Yellow American cheese grilled to perfection on a flat top. However, the stars of the show were the enormous biscuits. My mother-in-law didn't want hers so I got to indulge in more carbs. So. Good. It was fluffy and warm and HUGE. Despite the size, the whole thing was gone by the time the meal was over. Someone at the next table ordered the biscuits and gravy (which I've always wanted to try but don't have the guts to order) and it looked creamy and delicious as well. We also took home a tray of their rolls for Thanksgiving dinner and they were also amazing. Buttery and melt-in-your-mouth ... yum!
