Wow. Excellent service. Amazing food. We had the bone in ribeye, with starters of pork belly blt and shrimp salad. Definitely a spot to return to.

Best dining experience in Charleston. If you are looking for a great meal, served with the freshest and highest quality ingredients around look no further than Noah's. The weekly menu change always keeps it fresh and interesting. Sure you could have a similar priced experience at Laury's, the Chop House or Bridge Road Bistro, but the food would not be as delicious as it is at Noah's. The perfect place for a special occasion.

A small place with a warm and inviting atmosphere. My meal was good except I was surprised that it was not served hot. My soup was luke warm. My entree was a little better.

I've had the pleasure of eating here probably 7 or 8 times now and each time, I'm impressed, especially given that it's in Charleston, WV...a place not exactly known for it's outstanding cuisine. I love food and make it a point to visit new places anytime I travel around the U.S. Without a doubt, Noah's competes with even the best that I've experienced. Constantly changing menus, excellent atmosphere, excellent service, great wine selection and every dish that I've had, appetizer or entree, had been spot on. Just writing this review makes me want to eat there again :) If you haven't yet, give it a try, you won't be disappointed!

Really excellent food! Check the menu before you go if you're picky like me. The menu is limited because the quality is superb. The beef Wellington is beyond great.

The night I went there it was the coolest restaurant in town. It's only offers a few seats and so feels very exclusive. The foods pricing is just appropriate for how unique it is. The food was really it. And it's just so romantic!

Five stars because the food is that good! For an appetizer we got the conch fritters which were so good and even better dipped in the sauce that came with them! For an entree I had the shrimp and prosciutto wrapped scallops with polenta. Delicious! Polenta perfectly crisp outside and creamy inside! Shrimp & scallops were cooked perfectly, great flavor. For dessert I had the peach pie, also delicious. Even better was the chocolate lava cake my husband got! Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. As a side note, if the owner/chef is reading this: please get a better location and atmosphere. Your food is too good for the building/atmosphere. The music choice and volume level were strange. Seeing in to the kitchen with people dressed in t shirts and shorts makes the meal feel less special. On it's own the food is the best in Charleston, some of the best we have ever had period!

This place is a gem! Best flavor and quality I've had in a long time. I ate here with some work colleagues during a business trip after seeing the reviews. We didn't realize that the menu was going to have limited choices for the main course (chicken or fish) and a few people in my group wanted to leave, but we were all blown away by the quality and combination of flavors. We had a fried calamari appetizer that was perfectly cooked; not chewy at all, and not undercooked. The halibut was pan seared and very moist. The menu seems to change every week, so there are always new things to try. Great atmosphere and portions for dates. It is expensive, but is fairly priced considering the quality of food and service you receive. Don't forget to save room for dessert! I wish I had a restaurant like this where I live. I hope it's able to survive in Charleston.

Best food I've had in Charleston. Affordable appetizers. Portions for courses are moderate to surprisingly big. Good service. Decor and music could use improvement.

I came here recently on a business trip. I give this restaurant an A for effort. They have all the right ingredients - local produce, top quality protein, fresh ingredients - however, I thought the combinations of the great ingredients were a little off. They paired scallops, a very delicate sea creature, with a sweet sticky tomato jam and a strong and pungent balsamic vinaigrette. I think they put the scallops on some roasted potatoes and kale, which I found way too heavy for the scallop flavor. The scallops were pan fried, hard on the outside and chewy on the inside. The watermelon salad was only ok. I thought, again there was too much emphasis on the vinegar. The red wine came chilled, which is simply not how anyone should even serve a cabernet. ever. I did find the people working there to be exceptionally charming. I like that the restaurant is off the beaten path and you have to "find" the place. I think the restaurant has a lot of potential, I guess I just hit it on the wrong week.

My work colleagues and I were very happy to find this place with the help of yelp. The food was excellent. Presentation was beautiful and the portions were filling while not too large. Looks to be wine and beer only, but that is fine. The wine list is extensive. The only complaint was the limited entree options. I don't eat pork so was "stuck" with fish when would have preferred a red meat option. That said the fish was delicious. We will be back.

What a great evening!! We chose Chilean sea bass that was excellent. The greens and beans soup was quite tasty on a cold evening. The coffee and crime brûlée was divine for the finishing touch. Noah was so gracious to come to the table along with the great service by our waiter Jeff. What a great restaurant choice for Charleston. Noah's doesn't take a back seat to anyone.

We have dined at Noah's several times now and each time the experience has been great. The food is always changing and always delicious. It is BY FAR the best restaurant in Charleston and likely the best restaurant in WV. I have had the pleasure of eating meals from many reputable chefs, José Andrés, Bryan Voltaggio, Richard Blais, Michael Simon, Wolfgang Puck, Karen Small... and I can comfortably say Noah's food is on par with all of them. You can tell that he respects the food and always delivers balanced, appetizing and beautiful dishes. Every week I look forward to seeing what the new menu has to offer because I know what ever it is it will be great. As a local I feel so lucky to have this caliber of restaurant in our little city. I find the atmosphere inviting for long diners and conversations with friends. Because the dining area is so small the atmosphere seems to change with that nights clientele. There have been times the room felt "uppity" but never because of Noah and his staff. They are always warm, welcoming, friendly and casual. The wine list is great but I do miss having a full bar. The simple fact is the food is wonderful and I look forward to every meal at Noah's.

Some of the best food in charleston. Honestly, it's not cheap, but worth every $$$! Perfect little place with small dining room and the quality cannot be denied. Nice, simple wine list, excellent portions fantastic service, exceptional foods - all with a comfortable and genuine feel. If you've never been, do yourself a favor and GO!!!

Best restaurant in charleston. I have eaten at many nice restaurants in big cities including San Fran, London, and Paris, and this place is on par. Recommend to anyone looking for a high quality meal. They had one of the best desserts I have had. It was a simple lemon berry marscapone. Delicious.

My significant otter and I have been here twice for dinner and both experiences were memorable. Though on my first trip they cooked my steak longer than I like, it was a very good cut of meat and still had a lot of flavor. On our second trip, the otter and I split a giant tomahawk cut steak and it was superb. Excellent service and reasonably priced wines.

I can't wait to go back to Noah's. When I lived in WV, I made the trip to Charleston often to eat here. Superb service and by far the best food you can find anywhere near the area. My favorites so far have been the short rib, scallops, and every soup I have had. I love that the menu changes often. Can't wait to see what's on the menu when I get to go back in December.

First of all, I'm not a fan of Charleston restaurants that have a tinge of self-importance and self-proclaimed fancy-pants-ness... it feels too much like a kid dressing up in his dad's clothes. I went to Noah's with my in-laws for dinner and was not the least bit impressed. There wasn't a single vegetarian option on the menu, so I asked for the Pad Thai without chicken. The noodles were pretty stiff/overcooked and the meal was too boring/bland for the hefty price. The interior of the restaurant is dark and depressing to boot. The walls were so sterile; throw some art up there for the love of god! Next time I'll go to Tudors and get a Dottie. ; )

This is by far the best meal I have had in the Charleston area. My friends and I did the tasting menu and everything was delicious. I hope Charleston will embrace Noah's as they need to have more quality restaurants. I will definitely come in every time I visit.

David P must have experienced lunch prices, because the dinner menu prices weren't in the same stadium as Panera. I had occasion to visit Noah's for dinner late last week and was pleasantly surprised. No alcohol license yet but I hear it's in the works - so BYOB! The food was overall good. My chicken was a unfortunately heavy in sodium/salt. While that was the only bad mark of my entree, it's also an issue only amateur chefs should have. If you're charging $30 for chicken and pasta, you shouldn't be using salt to make up for seasoning balance inadequacies. I was able to taste three of the four appetizers offered. The duck (fois gras) appetizer was amazing. The cheese balls came in a distant second. The lobster egg rolls were a far third - they tasted quite bland without much actual lobster to speak of. If I go back, I'd stay away from the latter two. I also had strawberry shortcake for dessert, which was just fine. It's hard to make that dish amazing or horrible. They also served Creme Brulee. While I didn't have it, the lady at the table next to me complained that it was actually cold beneath the glaze and wasn't to her liking. The chef sent her a strawberry shortcake on the house to remedy the situation. The space was cramped (you couldn't fit a person between me and the table next to me) and at times the two waitresses were a bit distracting while at times running (literally) around the space. While the ambiance is fairly nice, I have two major criticisms: 1) My entire night in my field of vision was the kitchen helper. There is a large cutout in the wall, through which you can see the kitchen (I'm told this used to be a taco bar in the prior business). So I spent half my meal watching a kid in a band t-shirt cleaning up dishes. A curtain would do wonders. 2) Noah's makes an attempt to be somewhat classy, at least for dinner. Yet the bright red, tattered Coca-Cola fountain machine displayed in the back of the dining room is an unavoidable eyesore to those who walk in. Again, find some way to partition to protect the experience. Between this and #1 I couldn't help but feel like the prices and food were trying for a classy night out, but led to some issues as to why it just didn't feel right. In short, it's not a bad choice. I was visiting from DC so I'm not sure how it compares to typical Charleston options, but even for DC it's a good pick. My main critique is that it is a bit overpriced for the experience. If everything was knocked down about 15-20% in price I might rate this a 5 star place. Or, Noah, keep prices as-is and heed some recommendations :) Normally i might be closer to 3.5 stars, but someone else reviewed this place who apparently hasn't even been there. So I'll bump it up. Come on now.

I had dinner here a few weeks ago and had the lobster risotto. It was amazing. The lobster was cooked perfectly. I'm hungry now just thinking about it. My husband had the sea bass which was wonderful also. The roasted root veggies that came with it were delicious. Noah's is an awesome addition to the Charleston food scene. We will definitely be back!

As a foodie, having dined in some of the best restaurants worldwide, I can truly say that Noah Miller is creative and does an exceptional job with food. His menu changes weekly and is small, but creative. We were a party of four and each had a different dish and all were well prepared, well presented and each had their own perfect intensity of flavors. We had 5 different appetizers and all were great. kudos to Noah!

Outstanding food and good service at a small, friendly, chef-owned downtown restaurant. Who would have thought such great food, at a reasonable price or any price, could be found in Charleston, WV. Our appetizers, entrees and dessert were perfectly prepared. Noah personally serves the entrees and welcomes his guests. We would have stopped in again a few days later except for the fact that the restaurant is closed on Sunday or Monday. Successfully running a restaurant of this caliber takes a lot effort, intelligence and skill. A couple of days a week out of the kitchen are well earned and completely understandable. Still we would have enjoyed another meal at Noah's in the course of our spring road trip to scenic and historic West Virginia and Kentucky. Highly recommended.

New favorite place in charleston. One of the best filets I've had in years. The seafood soup was fantastic. Fairly extensive wine list. Gruyere puffs: yes please! Service is attentive. Happy camper right here.

Noah's is excellent. My girlfriend and I went a few weeks ago. Its small and intimate and all about the food. Noah came out personally to talk to us. He changes the menu weekly so if you don't like what he's got going this week just wait until next. Charleston doesn't have a ton of great restaurants. Since I moved here in July I've tried to get to as many as possible. So far this is the best by a wide margin.

The best restaurant in Charleston PERIOD. Noah is an artist and perfectionist. Everything he creates is out of this world. The menu changes weekly and he's kept it simple and elegant. I've tried and loved the osso bucco, chicken with house made pasta, and fish. and while everything is mindblowing, it's the fish that is the star of the menu. Frankly its very hard to find a good fish, they are either not seasoned right (mostly underseasoned) or over cooked. My fav bar up on south hills charges a lot for fish, but cookes it until it becomes rock solid and completely inedible. Noah's fish just melted in the mouth. One time he wrapped the fish with very fine slices of eggplant that had a lemony preparation. The hint of lemony flavor from the eggplant was the perfect complement to the fish. I once visited this place with a big group of around 25-30 ppl and the food quality was still fantastic. Btw I am guessing Noah refused to pay yelp for premier membership which explains why all of his positive reviews are conveniently "filtered". shame on you yelp!

No longer serves lunch. Upscale dinner place for Charleston, food was very good the few times I was there. A little hard to find and tIny and not that easy to get a reservation on short notice, but worth trying when you something a little different and nicer than the average chain restaurant. BYOW.

I was fortunate to have a friend recommend Noah's to me just this afternoon, and - it turns out - today is opening day! Cilantro's and Delish Express were both located in this space, and I really hope that Noah's becomes a permanent fixture of the downtown community. The interior is very nicely redone and quite welcoming. The staff - including Chef Noah - are friendly and engaging. When I think "bistro" I always think "limited menu," but Noah's presents a decent range of options for a restaurant this size. I ordered the Italian panini with Gruyere, tomato, and capicola ham and it was amazing. The panini also came with a tasty side salad, and Chef Noah even threw in a cup of 'Beans and Greens' soup on the house. The soup was both simple and delicious with kale, carrots, and a variety of beans. This is certainly a bistro with a fine dining twist. You can buy any old sandwich in almost any street in this town, but you will definitely get your money's worth at Noah's. Prices are basically the same as Panera Bread, but the food is street's ahead - and local!

Went here for Valentine's day dinner and it was fantastic. The food was fresh and tasted wonderful! One of the better restaurants I've been to in a while. The space is intimate, but I didn't feel cramped at all. Staff were fantastic. They gave great suggestions and were friendly all night. Prices were a little more upscale, but for a special night out it was well worth it.

Love the restaurant ! Menu is very nice and is supposed to change weekly. Service is great and friendly ! The one problem is the size of portions versus the price. Im all for sensible portions but these portions are really small and if this is the way the chef likes it, fine, but the price needs to come down. 10 mussels for $12.00 is too much. The grouper entree was tasty but the two pieces were minuscule probably 4-5 oz total. The pasta dish was great but would have fit in the palm of my hand. Love for them to be successful and I will patronize them. Just do some small changes and keep the good food !!!

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
