Hadn't been here in a while because past experiences - food and service - were less than good; ended up here because of a glitch with first choice restaurant before seeing Robert Cray at the Clay Center. Tonight's service and food left me willing to consider it again. They have a nice beer selection, though I think the draughts are a bit pricey (maybe other customers around me thought this, too, because they were all drinking Bud Light and Mich Ultra - bllch). Food is a pricey for what you get. Looked as if they had ample wine offerings; I didn't review those prices. My significant otter and I sat at the bar which I think helped with service speed. Bartender seemed attentive to all. Otter ordered the muffaletta and fries and I had the Italian Nachos (pita chips w/sausage, alfredo sauce, banana pepper, mozzarella and onion -- very inspired composition). Both dishes were fine; mine could've used more sauce. If you plan to go before a show, at the Clay Ctr next door, be sure to allow at least an hour - more, if you're not sitting at the bar.

We were literally the only table, about 6:00 on a Tuesday night - stopped in for food and drinks before going to the Clay Center. The service was slow and the waitress was manic, which made me nervous. Food was terrible - I had a burger that tasted like a wet dog and was waaaay overcooked. The men's room was really disgusting and disturbing - walls, doors and almost every surface covered with dated, torn out pictures of bikini clad women from Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition. Seriously, WTF?!?! Plus the bathroom was ill kept, which also added to the creep factor. The restroom felt like a mastubatorium for teen aged boys. Super gross. Never again ......

Just beer for me tonight. Service was good. Tasted a sample of the nachos and they were very good. The beer on tap was great. Not a lot of people in here on a Thursday, so 6 of us owned the pool table all evening. Football, beer, and friends = Good evening.

Pizza and pints. Great selection of beers on tap and their pizzas are fresh and good if not creatively inspired. Friendly staff.

My friend and I were on the first night of a road trip from NYC to Jackson Hole, Wyoming. We got to Charleston late enough on a Thursday night that all the restaurants we tried were closed (9 PM!). We stumbled upon Bruno's by accident and it was a terrific surprise. It is essentially a bar with a big selection of beer. We both ordered the fresh lamb burgers which were served on a bun with yogurt and cucumbers. The seasoning in the lamb was fantastic and the burgers were delicious! The fries were pretty good too and with a cold beer to set it off, it was a really great meal. I recommend this place to anyone trying to support local food and avoid chains. It was not expensive and it has a lot of atmosphere. It made the first night of our trip memorable!

This place is hit-or-miss. I've had good meals here and others that were just so-so. You almost get the feeling that it's a bar trying desperately to be a restaurant. The bar patrons get more attention than the diners, and beer and pool take precedence over foodservice. That said, the pizza is very good, and their sandwiches are quite tasty. Don't expect coffee at the end of the meal, though. They don't own a coffeepot.
