I have been going to kitts since 1998, I enjoy the burgers, very good any time of the year. Never had the ice cream but am willing to try

I've never had authentic frozen custard before so it was a treat to come here when I visited Milwaukee a few weeks ago. Cheeseburger, fries, and my chocolate custard were amazing... can't wait to stop here again when I come back to town!

This is easily my favorite custard place that isn't Kopps. Nothing against Leon's, but the fried snack selection here is pretty stellar. Ignore the potential sketchiness of the neighborhood and swing by for some huge cones for pretty cheap (I had a tower of chocolate custard as a double scoop for $3), and the burgers are pretty decent too. Staff is very friendly, even with all of the random banter they have back and forth behind the counter. Dogs aren't allowed in the covered (dry and shady in the summer, heat lamps when it's colder) counter area, however, so you'll have to have your pup leashed and held outside or in the car while you wait. Ignore the comments about how long you might have to wait, though. The food is cooked to order, just like any other mom & pop place. Of course it's not coming out like you're at McDonald's.

We stopped here in early 2013 when we were in the area from MN for a basketball tournament. It was cold out but we were in the mood for ice cream or custard. The heat lamps on the inside were awesome. Made us feel like It was a warmer season and not the middle of winter. Everyone was nice, service was pretty fast too. And the custard......YUM-O!!! It was soooo good. Will definitely hit there again next time we're near Milwaukee. Didn't try any of the food, but everyone that came in said the food was really good.

I had an amazing burger here, and some off the hook almond butter custard. This section of the city was the place to be in the 1950s - very much the center of Happy Days life in Milwaukee - and this drive in (no longer a drive in) was probably the sort of place where girls in poodle skirts and guys who looked like Elvis drove in on Harley's and in 1957 Chevy's. The menu has changed - more chicken, but they have one of the best butter burgers I have had anywhere in the great state of Wisconsin. Well worth the trip for those who don't leave the East Side or Bay View.

Great place, even in the dead of winter, they have these awesome heat lamps that make me think it's July. The things I've had (mainly ice cream) are good. It's like stepping into a 1950s Milwaukee time machine.

Love this place! Food is great; you get plenty of it and its very cheap. I live really close and this is one of my favorite places to get custard. I wouldn't rate it better than Kopps, Oscars, or Leons, but their fair prices and generous portions make this place one of the best custard stands in town. The building is very unique, and it has been around for a very long time (my mom remembers going here in the 1960s). The neighborhood is a bit sketchy, but I have been there after dark and I have no problems. Plus its open until midnight!

I've been here a couple of times while waiting for the Stereo Doctors next door to install car radios. A couple days ago, while I was waiting for my fried catfish, one customer, an out of state visitor who grew up in the neighborhood, recognized another woman there as a neighbor from a decade ago, and they had a friendly catch-up-on-family-and-update-on-now-grown-children talk. Every customer in this place when I've been there has been moderately to extremely obese. That's what kind of place this is, hasn't changed much since they opened in the 1950s, a summer neighborhood burger and frozen custard place. Good place for burgers, hot dogs, fried foods, custard desserts, so much more character than the chain fast food joints. While I was eating my strawberry sundae with fresh cut banana slices, just like I ordered, I thought about my first car, my high school girlfriends, summers before adult responsibilities, and Lipitor.

One of the best burger joints in town. I'd recommend them over Kopps because of the price and the seasme seed buns.
