For the last ten years this has been my Pre-Brewer's game spot. Even when they where Long-Wongs. I don't mind the other places but Burke's got to fancy and Kelly's can get crowded. Even time I go there I usually run into one of the owners, John or Bob. The have lots of tvs, a great u - shape bar in the middle which allows you to talk to many different people at once. Also the bartenders are in the middle. Can't find a seat? The have a lot of high tops and another section just for eating. Then there is the back bar, which has a bowling alley, dart boards and another bar. It doesn't matter who is bartending here, you will always get great service. Everytime I go in there it seems like everyone knows everyone, my kind of bar. The drink prices are cheap for beer or liquor. Not too mention the food. Just because the food is not expensive doesn't mean you are not getting top quality. I usually get a burger - medium rare. Always cooked to order and fast, even when they are busy. Now that I live here in the city, I go there more often and like talking to my friends or the great bartenders / owners. I would recommend this place to anyone who hasn't been there.

Fun sports bar! They've got lots of TVs for watching sporting events, including a giant back room, with a projection screen. There's also a 2-lane bowling alley back there, which I've never seen anyone use. Up front, is a big main bar, shaped in an oval for lots of seating. There's also a pretty big dining room, with plenty of tables for seating, plus a dart board. They serve standard bar food, like pizzas, burgers and chicken wings. All are good, although I didn't find their hot wings to be anywhere near 'hot'. Their hand battered chicken tenders are excellent! And they always have different daily specials on their food. I tried the $.50 wings on a Thursday. After eating, we stayed for live trivia. I had a great time, even though we didn't come anywhere close to winning. The service is always good. Owners, Jon and Bob, are often behind the bar, serving you themselves. They definitely take care of their customers!

J&B's Jacksons Blue Ribbon Pabst - stop confusing us with your bar names. We came here after football to celebrate a win and collect a free pitcher and pizza. When I've come here in the past the crowd here has been pretty rough but apparently Thursday nights didn't get the memo. It was packed with normal 20-30 year old people all playing Trivia in a lively atmosphere. When we won a free pizza we were expecting Jack's or something, but the pizza that came out was delicious and had huge pepporonis. The service was good as well. The only surprising thing was how much their pitchers of beer vary in price - $6 to $15. Make sure you check before you order!

This a square three star corner bar. If you looking for some pub food, try the hand battered chicken tenders. Depending on who makes then they can be amazing to a little bit above average. The hot sauce wasn't very hot , if your a spicy food lover like me. Friendly enough staff and free rides to the brewer game help draw people here. There is also what I call a 'game room' in the back where I've played indoor corn hole. It's kind of a weird under used space in the back.

Of all the bars I've been to in Milwaukee, this was by far the biggest disappointment. l met a group of friends there tonight to play Party Rock Bingo which sounded like a lot of fun. I was the first to arrive and though service was a little slow (understandable since there was only one bartender and she was the only server as well) the bartender/waitress was extremely nice and helpful. She's the only reason I gave 2 stars. I ordered potato skins and a salad. The salad was decent, the potato skins were just ok, but I think they might have made me sick. My friends all began to arrive and that's when we found out the Bingo was cancelled. There wasn't anything posted online or anywhere in the bar indicating the cancellation. The atmosphere is sort of strange, there was a big mix of people and ranged from families to frat guys. If you're looking for a mediocre bar with mediocre food, this is the place for you!

Not impressed. I had read a Fish Fry thread on Yelp and J&B's Blue Ribbon Bar and Grill was mentioned and their website with PBR breaded cod was enough to entice me. My wife and I had an out of town guest and wanted to show him a "'Sconnie Fish Fry". We parked on Blue Mound with a view of Miller Park, the Brewers were in Chicago this night. We entered to loud '80s juke box music way too loud and one bartender-ess. We picked a table and awkward bad service ensued. The bar was sparse with sports memorabilia, isn't this a Brewers' bar? The fish fry was REALLY GOOD. Expertly breaded with cole slaw, choice of potato and rye bread. I just didn't dig the vibe here at all. Crappy unfriendly service, bar flies SCREAMING at each other over the music. I'll pass next time.

I came here for dinner tonight and the food was good, but not great. Nothing stood out, but it was decent and I would like to try some more things off the menu. The wings were pretty average, the mac'n'cheese was decent and somewhat interesting and unique. The burger was also pretty good - I tried those three things. Service was great and friendly. Seems like a fun bar... ...and that's what I'm excited to check out next time. We just bought a house nearby and that backroom seems really fun. Bowling lanes, big screens, games... it just seems like it'd be a great time on a weekend. I have a feeling this might be our new go-to bar. Looking forward to trying some more of the menu, too!

This bar makes me happy. We were here with a large group of heavy drinkers on a Saturday night. The bartenders met our expectations, anticipated our needs, and entertained us. High fives all around. The girls and I got a little sassy and ordered piles of shots while discussing the rugged burliness of at least one of the bartenders. The boys were being occasional idiots, as usual, and the lady bartenders played along. I'm fairly certain they comped us a few for trying to spend our entire tax returns in one night. I ate some chicken fingers early in the night and I mowed through them like I was an addict and they were made out of crack chicken. I am picky about my chicken fingers, so this is saying something. I will be back!

We got a table right away on Friday night. My husband and I had our 1-year-old with us as well. I had a delicious cod fish fry and my husband had a chicken sandwich on a pretzel bun-yummy. The onion rings are a must, thin and freshly battered. Also a good tap beer selection, crispin and 312! Casual atmosphere. Will return!

The fish fry was awesome. We sat here and watched the chef come out and pour PBR out of the tap right into the batter. Tasted perfect. Cheese curds with marinara was a strong choice. Glad we stopped in here before our Miller Tour! Bartender was a real nice dude. A+

Friend was looking for a sports bar to go to on a Friday night, checked out reviews and decided to give it a try. We had kids with us and and tried to keep it low key. Has a nice dining area off the side from the actual bar area. There was other families there with children so that was a plus for this evening. Waitress was very friendly and the place seemed very comfortable. Menu is basic and small. Appetizers, Burgers, chicken sandwiches, hot dog and a few wraps. We tried the quesadilla and the nachos. Big plus, real chicken breast on the nachos. They were tasty but very simple. I had a chicken sandwich and it was very good. No fake injected chicken here, the real deal grilled chicken breast. Always a winner in my book. My husband had the burger and he said it was really good, one of the better ones. Mixers are in large glasses and portions of food are big. Reasonably priced food and friendly atmosphere. Give it a try! Don't forget to check out the "man cave" in the back.

Mom and I went here for a Fish Fry over lunch. This is the third time I've been there since Long Wong's closed, and this is my first review. But, I'm happy to report the cod version of the fish fry was delicious. Excellent. Nice and crispy, good portion, and at a reasonable price. They have a perch version as well. For sides, they offer french fries, potato pancakes, or baked potato as well as the standard cole slaw, rye bread. We both opted for potato pancakes. While the fish was a five star dish, the potato pancakes were just so so. They were made from scratch, which is a plus to start with in my book. But, according to my old German mom they had 1) too much filler in them (meaning flour) and 2) were a little high on the saltiness, and 3) were not crispy. Otherwise the flavor was good. I would almost guess they were made in advance and reheated, but I'm guessing in a microwave and not on the grill. (To the cook - Potatoes are cheap and pancakes cook quickly... don't stock up unless it's busy. It'll affect your quality. Much like this...) The previous visits I've had here were very good experiences. I like this place and will be back.

Seems like an alright place before a Brewers game. John, the owner, is a great guy and has a lot of experience managing this place, he was the bar manager when it was Long Wongs(probably my favorite bar in MKE before it closed). I will have to go back and eat, but I will definitely be back.

Had a perch fish fry with potato pancakes. Fish tasted like mustard, the coleslaw had no flavor and the potato pancakes were greasy. No more fish fries there for me. Might try lunch one day since the location is convenient.

Tuesday night and $1 off appetizers. That is enough to sell me on visiting the former Long Wong's. I like that a place like J&B's makes it okay to sit and have a drink on a "school night." Their food is already more than reasonably priced, and then they throw in a $1 off. You can't beat it. The offerings are the usual: mozzarella sticks, nachos, quesadillas, wings. We ordered the nachos, which were tasty--because anything with a nacho cheese dressing has exponentially been improved upon, but the platter could have done without the odd addition of iceburg lettuce. I do not know what it is. Maybe, it is the hot cheese and the cold lettuce. I would simply order it without next time. I would like to try the "Garbage Fries" with the fried eggs on top next time too, seeing that I was slightly disappointed by the chicken tenders. They were piping hot, but the breading was not my favorite. I just like a little more crunch. I don't expect them to be gourmet, but I have had better frozen varieties. I have a feeling the mozzarella sticks would rock my world, seeing they are rolled in a wonton wrapper. Am I the only one, or does anything wrapped in a wonton taste that much better? Really. I would say the quest to find another chicken vendor comes second to the tapper menu. Give a girl some IPA options. Just a suggestion. I did enjoy my bottled Ranger IPA, but I am a girl that likes tap beer. Call me crazy.

I read a newspaper review of J&B's fish fry. I'm always in search of good potato pancakes and rarely find them, so when the reviewer raved about the potato pancakes, my mouth started watering. They were a big disappointment. Very dry and nearly tasteless. The perch was amazing, though. I'd return for that but would order fries.

Fish Fry Review: In the old Long Wong's location, the owners of J&B have done a great job of cleaning the place up and providing Milwaukee another great bar to hang out with friends or before a Brewers game. All street parking and there is plenty of it available. The bar now has more of an open concept and updated look. I didn't get a chance to look at the backroom but it looked like they still have the bowling, pool tables, etc. For appetizers they have mozzarella sticks (wrapped in a wonton wrapper), potato skins, quesadillas, nachos, chicken strips, onion rings, fresh cut fries (regular or cajun), and unbreaded wings. For entrees they have make your own burger or chicken breast - a plus is that they offer a fried egg as an extra, a club wrap, a hummus wrap, hot dogs, and brats. On Wednesday and Fridays they will have a Fish Fry and a fish sandwich. Since they just opened the kitchen, they are currently only offering a 4 piece Pabst battered cod with coleslaw, fresh cut fries, and rye bread with butter for $8.50. Down the line they plan will have lake perch. We started off with the mozzarella sticks and potato skins. I was very happy with our selections. They were served fresh and hot. 3 of us then got the fish fry and the 4th got the chicken sandwich. I of course got the fish fry. Since the beginning of lent I have had now 6 frys under my belt and this would have to rank right up there with McBobs as one of my favorites of the season. Fresh cut fries are my second favorite after crinkle cut fries for a fish fry. The coleslaw had a nice balance and the fish...let's just say I would pay a few dollars extra to make it an you can eat and be in heaven. It had the perfect amount of batter that was crispy that kept the fish flaky and tasty. If you are tired of going to the same old fish fry all the time and want to try a new place, put J&B's on your list. I promise you, you won't be disappointed. I would swear a PBR on it.

Everything we had was very good. This is definitely an improvement for the space. The burger was one of the better ones I have had recently. The wings were huge. The garbage fries was one of the best appetizers I have ever had. The service was outstanding and they really seemed to care whether we enjoyed it or not. We did! I want to go back and try the fish fry. They have some great specials too!
