I have eaten here twice now. Both times the service was excellent. The food choices were of course Irish classics. The Corned beef is so tasty it's insane.but first you have to start with the boxy cakes. They have the main Irish drinks including Guinness and tons of whiskeys. Order a flight and get a few different shots. I will return again soon. It tough to get too cause it's at the base of Smith Tower but it's worth the stop.

Irish Pub. Wasn't expecting much. I'm staying nearby and didn't want to go too far and am really glad I popped in. Friendly staff, friendly patrons, laid back, pretty clean, nice varied happy hour menu! I rarely indulge in creamy clam chowder but for 2$ a cup I thought I'd give it a whirl and I'm glad I did! Lots of clams and not creamy white creamy. I was surprised at how much I liked it. Plus the real deal oyster crackers and Irish music playing I felt freaking Irish myself :) Irish 'merican that is. It's pub food so don't expect anything different but a hearty thumbs up if you are in the mood for this sort of atmosphere and good old fashioned hearty grub!

I came in here after running the Seattle Rock n' Roll Marathon to eat dinner. I sat in the bar section since I was by myself. It was right before the Sounders game, so I was given the game day menu. I started things off appropriately with a Guinness. I then ordered their Corned Beef n' Cabbage and their Fish n' Chips. They brought out some bread as I waited for my food to come out. The guy that brought out the food clearly thought I ordered way too much food for myself, but little does he know how much food I can eat when I'm "rungry"! My stomach usually turns into a bottomless pit after a marathon. Both of the items that I ordered tasted good and the portions were pretty generous. It's somewhat of a compliment to say that I've had better fish and chips in Liverpool, UK. :) Overall, I wouldn't mind coming back here again for a meal. The food was good. The bartender was friendly and always made sure that I had what I needed. We also had a pretty good conversation about running marathons and traveling the world.

My hubby and I came across this place while vacationing in Seattle. If only they had a location in SoCal, we would be there all the time! You cannot beat the happy hour prices. The portions are a nice size too. I know it's not fair to the restaurant but I'm only giving them 4 stars because they're too far away. otherwise, 5 stars for sure!

The atmosphere is Irish all around. From the restrooms labelled "Lads" and "Lasses" to all the photos and signs on the walls. We just arrived in Seattle and were a bit exhausted so we didn't get to fully enjoy our surroundings or many beers on tap. However our lunch was excellent. The quesadillas were steaming hot and had great flavor. The Rueben was hearty, flavorful and filling. Docked one star because of the Hunt's ketchup (for the fries that were crispy). Not sure yet if this is a Washington State thing but prefer Heinz's every time.

If you're on a hunt for some good comfort food, Shawn O'Donnell's just might be a spot you'll like! This place was impressive for a few reasons: 1. For a pub, it's remarkably clean 2. The servers are genuinely kind and social 3. The food!! Everyone in my party seemed happy with their sandwich + burger choices. The onion straws are addicting, and my black-bean burger didn't make me miss meat one bit on this trip.

This pub is the epitome of fun Irish food and drink! The soda bread is served with honey butter. The clam chowder has cabbage in it! The shepherds pie was amazing. The pork shank literally melts in your mouth! Added to that is a fun atmosphere with Irish music and friendly service.

The fish and chips hype is real. Great service and quick, solid foot, I'm happy. Will come back next time I'm in town

This place was excellent! I had fish & chips with the clam chowder. I especially like that the fish is not overly battered. The clam chowder not traditional. It has a bit of spice to it that is very good. There is also a nice selection of beer.

Brilliant! This is my boyfriend's and my first time ordering from Shawn O'Donnell's. We ordered the mac and cheese, salad, and black and tan brownie. I took one bite of the mac and cheese and I'm pretty sure I said "mmm" so much I annoyed him. The black and tan brownie was so rich and delicious I didn't want to eat anything else ever just for fear that the brilliant taste would leave me mouth. Not to mention that the salad was fresh and tangy. Lovely! We are DEFINITELY ordering from these lads again. Cheers!

We went here for lunch, but the service was suuuuuuper slow, so we just had a drink each and went elsewhere for dinner. The server was very friendly and nice, but I think she was the ONLY server and she had to manage the bar as well, so she had a lot to cover.

Only 18 minutes from order confirmation to food at my door. Chowder was excellent. Addition of corned beef and cabbage was great touch. Not a fan of the potato and corned beef fritters but might of been better if dining in. Corned beef and cabbage entrée was mixed review. Corned beef and potatoes were excellent but cabbage was under cooked. Lastly the Black and Tan brownie with moose tracks ice cream hit the spot. Certainly would recommend and will try again.

I came here with my wife right after going up to visit the Smith Tower observation deck. There's an entrance to the pub right from the building lobby. When we came in it was quiet and around 12:30pm but it was a Saturday so less busy since nobody in the building was really working. We sat near the bar and I just wanted to get a pint and my wife just wanted a coffee. I had a Lucille IPA which was really good and pretty much what I expected to have these days since I find myself drinking more IPAs. A handful of other customers came in to drink and have lunch. There was a Mississippi State/Alabama game on the TV and we didn't eat but it's the kind of place I would have liked to have stayed longer if I was just going to drink with buddies but I had other ideas for lunch.

The staff was awesome, food was much better than expected. My go-to place for dinner when I'm in town. Fish and chips are great, but be sure to get the chowder with it. You definitely won't be disappointed!

The owners of Shawn O'Donnell's were kind enough to host a trivia night to help the company I work for raise money for Food Lifeline. The staff provided amazing service and everyone really enjoyed the food. The charity event was a great success! I highly recommend this restaurant to anybody who's looking for a good place to eat in Pioneer Square.

We came here for Happy Hour last Friday night and it was as good as ever. Shawn keeps the quality up and the prices reasonable. They went a little overboard with the cheese on may Irish Nachos but they were still excellent when I picked off the cheese. The corned beef was as good as always and I tried the Irish Boxty Cakes for the first time. I had no idea they were so good and plan on having them my next visit. The wait staff was attentive but it took a little while to get our bill. The bill was incorrect but they corrected it quickly and we were on our way. For a great casual place to eat Irish food, I don't think you can go wrong with Shawn O'Donnell's.

  • Valerie K.

Pretty good! Our waitress was great and I'm pretty sure the owner gave Quinn a free Guinness while we were waiting for our table. Maybe. Whatever, though. It was nice. We ordered the Irish nachos. I'm starting to get a little obsessed with Irish nachos. This place uses potato chips, corned beef, cheese, jalapeños, and sour cream. The corned beef makes these nachos. They're really good. My shepherds pie was okay, not the best I've ever had. Quinn's reuben needed more sauerkraut on it, but it was really good. We'd return!

Not the best bar food I've ever had, but solid tap list with great service. I sat on the patio during a Sounders game and watched all the revelry while enjoying a delicious local pint brewed in honor of Smith Tower's 100th birthday. It was a lovely Seattle day. Sit outside if you can!

Great deal accompanied by great food/service Shawn O'Donnell's provided an experience worth mentioning. I stumbled upon the place when searching for 3.5+ star dining options in the Seattle area near the train station. I was sold when I found a $10 for $15 deal on Yelp. The location is great - attached to Smith Tower. I arrived during Happy Hour. The Happy Hour menu had ample options for reasonable prices. I kicked off my afternoon with an Alaskan White served ice cold with an orange slice. I ordered the fish & chips for an entrée. I was pleasantly surprised with the superb quality for pub/bar food. The fish had a delicate, well-seasoned coating, which provided a flaky interior. The tasty tartar sauce seemed homemade - creamy and flavorful packing a mild kick. The fries were equally delicious - thick and hot! Pass the malt vinegar! More impressively, the service was hands down the best I've had in Seattle. The waiter (also serving as a bartender and covering the entire restaurant) was beyond accommodating. I appreciated his upbeat demeanor and speedy service. Overall, I'd highly recommend Shawn O'Donnell's for your next happy hour. You will leave satisfied in more ways than one!

I really wanted to like this place after reading all the reviews but sadly left disappointed. I ordered a pint ($5.50) which I enjoyed as it was an Oktoberfest seasonal. I also ordered their Rasher Burger - Irish Rasher (kinda like thick bacon) which came with chipotle mayo, an egg, and all the fixings. Chipotle mayo could not be tasted. Pretzel bun was too thick I could barely eat. Worst of all burger was WAY under cooked. Upon first bite everything was fine and dandy until I took another and noticed a lot of pink. I cut the burger in half and noticed it nearly looked rare. As I was in a rush I did not mention to waitress but rather just took it off the bun and picked at the rest. I also subbed for onion rings....which were so crunchy and seemingly over cooked my jaw literally hurt after eating :( Left rather saddened that the meal was super MEH. Should have opted for something else but after reading the reviews I was near certain it would have been a decent meal. Ugh. For a meal that cost me upwards of $20 including tax...I think I ate maybe $5 worth and would not want to come back. Staff was prompt and friendly, full bar. Clean atmosphere and TVs. That's what the 2 stars are for.

4 stars for service 4 stars for food 4 stars for ambience Revisited the restaurant after having an alright experience the first time. The second visit was certainly worth giving the establishment another try. Our drinks were never empty, and food was brought out within 10 minutes of ordering. We even got a chance to sit outside and enjoy people watching , and the unusually warm June weather. Awesome location, and friendly staff. I recommend their house mac and cheese!

You know this place has some of the best deals in the Seattle during happy hour. Plus, it's not Seattle pretentious.

There's absolutely no reason to take away a star from Shawn O'Donnell's! In my mind, every restaurant starts with five stars then loses them for poor service, sub-par food, lack of cleaning and overall ambiance. Shawn O'Donnell's didn't even lose the leg of a star! From the time we walked in from the cold, we were greeted with a smile and enthusiasm by our waiter/bartender. He even said he'd been waiting for us and of course we had the prime table all to ourselves! There were four of us with two more on the way so we settled in for some food and drinks! The Happy Hour menu is no less than perfection! A huge assortment with varying prices that allow you to sample nearly everything they've got. And we did!! We ordered the Soda Bread (soft and warm) with Corned Beef (melt in your mouth amazing), Irish Nachos (LARGE order of fresh crispy potato chips), Boxty Cakes (loaded perfection), Wings (oh so crispy) & Fries, Chowder (a little salty) and the icing on the cake, the Dubliner Melt I ordered for myself! If all of their sandwiches are as good as that one I'll be back every time I go to Seattle! We ended up with some fish and chips by accident so we got to try that too and it's probably some of the best I've eaten in the area! I highly recommend Shawn O'Donnell's and will definitely be back!

Quite possibly the best burger I've ever had. And it was just a bacon cheese burger. Great place after a day of touring. But definitely not a touristy place.

Hit up this place before a concert and was very surprised on how easy it was to get seated. Every place around was packed. My wife and I had the club sandwich. This was a fantastic sandwich with an ice cold beer. The place was clean and the service was very prompt. We will defiantly come again since it was convenient and delicious.

Food was awesome. We had a table of 7 and each ordered something different and we ended up sharing family style. Everything was great but the best were the ribs. The waitress was very good and super friendly.

Awesome service, excellent food, good drink options. It's really nice to have a go-to place in the Smith Tower area of Pioneer Square that is more basic Euro/American food. Fave thing on the menu is the fish and chips special. Fish is the best I've had in years - crispy outside, fully cooked inside, great tartar. They always offer to get me more fries if I feel like 'em. And they have great specials! Plus if you join their program you build up credits for free food, and you get a free birthday dinner every year. Stylin'! Give this place a try. You will not be disappointed.

Went here on St. Patrick's Day. Wait was a little long to be seated(25min.) with no place to sit. But I guess it can be expected at an Irish Bar on such an occasion. The firemen bagpipers were there so we were able to enjoy the entertainment while we waited. We were finally seated at a table directly in front of the door so everytime someone came in or out a huge gust of cold wind was thrust in our faces. No other seating available so we just bared it. We ordered the corned beef & cabbage & it was divine! The corned beef was so tender & juicy it melted in your mouth. Great flavor also. Came with mashed potatoes & a slab of cabbage.Cabbage was a little too well done to my liking but ok. Little horseradish for extra flavor. Combined with a beer it was a very satisfying meal. I have had the fish & chips here before & they are also good. Going back soon for a Reuben!

The lunch specials are a great deal. I had the rueben and a cup of clam chowder. The chowder is made in house and has lots of potatoes and veggies. Not too creamy.

I'm a little surprised by all the great reviews. I didn't dislike this place, but I sure didn't find it to be a 4 star location. We came on a Sunday night after being referred to the pub on 2nd... except there were a couple, but this one was open and the first we saw, so that's where we landed. After a look at the menu, my husband and I both ordered the fish, chips and chowder. I will admit that he seemed to really like everything, with the exception of the chowder being lukewarm, which is a big NoNo in a restaurant. I guess I'm pickier. The Fries were okay - nothing special, but there weren't many of them, just a small scattering. The fish pieces were TINY. It reminded me of getting breaded fish in a frozen Van De Kamp box. They weren't BAD, but not what I picture when I think fish and chips in a restaurant. It came out super fast, so I figure it's just sitting back there waiting for soeone to order it. Darn it, I should have taken a picture. Then the chowder was lukewarm. I wasn't a big fan of it in general, a little too chunky for my taste, but the temperature freaked me out... it's my Public Health Background, so I gave mine to my husband. He mentioned to the waitress that the soup was not at proper temp and she asked if he wanted her to warm it. He said yes and we were both confused if she was going to just warm the one we had or bring another, but she did bring another and take away the chilly one. He really enjoyed the hot cup of soup. We both ordered Diet Cokes and had to ask for refills even though the cups were clearly empty while she was at our table. The service was okay, but not super attentive. Overall, everything was OK. I wouldn't return though. Too many other restaurants out there to go back somewhere with a less than great experience.

This place is one of those places that I mostly just go to because it's convenient. That said the staff is friendly and the food is pretty good. I can't say it's the greatest pub food I've ever eaten, but there's a good variety on the menu and prices are fair. I came here most recently for a weekday lunch. I ordered the California burger. It was a good-sized burger, I got it with a side of fries and a side salad. The burger was pretty filling so I only ate half for lunch. The Caesar salad was a very average Caesar salad but I like my vegetables. I also tried my friend's quesadilla, and it was pretty good. Except it had olives, and I don't really understand why anybody puts olives in a quesadilla... Anyway, I think I'd give this place a 3.5 stars, plus an extra 0.5 for personality. Service has always been consistently good.

MUST TRY BOXTY CAKES! These are SO delicious. Service is always great, they have good music when the host bands and fantastic St. Patty's Day celebrations. All in all I love this place!

I placed an order for delivery, waited over an hour for delivery, the driver texted me saying they were outside, i put on a shirt and quickly came downstairs, the driver was told to leave in the less than TWO MINUTES that it took me to put on a shirt and come downstairs. I hope this place goes out of business rapidly. Im hungry. This was dumb and a waste of my time. Please go out of business as quickly as possible.

Excellent food and friendly service. Our water glasses were always full and entire wait staff was more than willing to accommodate us. The environment was very welcoming and the food was...well it was magical. I ordered the corned beef and cabbage and my boyfriend got the bacon cheeseburger. The food was on POINT! It was the best corned beef and cabbage dish I have ever had. The mashed potatoes it came with were so delicious my boyfriend and I were fighting over the last bite. The fries that came with the burger were also done very well (the man and I are picky when it comes to fries). Great experience will definitely be coming back whenever we're in the area!

Went here for lunch with a Co-worker, I ordered the Fish and Salad. Which was pretty good. Co-worker ordered a Big Bacon Cheese Burger which he gobbled up. He even got a free Fry refill. The Server was Super Friendly. Wish it wasn't lunchtime, I would have liked to have enjoyed a Beer. I will be back.

This place is criminally under-appreciated and I make an effort to bring all my friends here when we're in the area. The food always tastes fresh and is served piping hot. I've had the shepherds pie, bacon burger, fish n' chips, drunken wings, and the Sante Fe wrap - all fantastic. The corned beef and cabbage is hearty, filling, and probably my favorite item on the menu. The only food item I wasn't very impressed with was the London Broil - the vegetables were fantastic but the steak was a little tough. The portions are generous, especially considering the price you pay. I've never left this place without being completely full and satisfied (the fact that they offer free refills on fries may have something to do with that). The lunch specials ($8.99 on 5 of their menu items) they have are ridiculously cheap in comparison to the same food elsewhere in the area. On top of that, their happy hour specials are very reasonable. The servers here are generally very friendly. There have been a few times where I though the service was a bit slow, but every time I've raised a concern with one of the servers they've been quick to act on the issue. Overall, it's an unpretentious pub restaurant with excellent food offerings at very reasonable prices.

The Reuben has jumped to my number 1. Great balance of flavors. Stopped in on my back to SeaTac for another excellent Reuben. Service good and friendly. Will be my go to spot for a brew and food when hoofing it to and from the ferry.

Wow! Open Sundays, although, without a game going on, that will likely change. Ordered chowder, fish and chips, and shepherd's pie. Service is super fast, but there were only 3 other people in the place. They should be packing in the tourists this time of year! Please help them stay open on Sundays! The only food that's left to take a photo of is the salad, which you can get, in place of fries, for a buck more. The fish was so good, you could eat it on the bus without getting beaten up. This is a swell place. I like that it didn't at all feel like a clichéd Irish pub. I'll be back until they're sick of me. Aug. 9 - still great! Trying to add another photo. Too full to think.

  • Crystal G.

Came here for happy hour after work and had so much fun and good food we ended up closing the place down. Happy hour fish and chips, while on the small side, it's proportional to the price. The soda bread and corned beef was delicious and the onion rings spot on. I saw some quesadillas and sandwiches making the rounds of my coworkers and all were happily gobbled up, so I assume all the pub fare was meeting expectations mine was. Drinks were strong and the staff were super friendly. Definitely plan on returning!

You know how sometimes you just feel like a burger. Well, yesterday that is what I felt like and walked the 5 blocks to this place. I had seen it in passing before and Irish pubs sometimes have good burgers, so I stepped in. it was after 1 so the lunch rush was gone and only 2 tables were full so an employee told me to take a site anywhere and a waitress would be right with me. I slipped into a booth (more like maneuvered) myself into the booth and waited. After about 3 minutes or so Nakita? came out and welcomed me with a menu and took my drink order. After a few seconds of perusing, I settled on the California Burger cooked medium. I understood from the waitress that the burgers are usually cooked medium well so if you like your burger cooked more or less, you will need to tell them. The menu only consists of about 6 different burgers but once you think about it, you should have too many choices you are not at a buffet. The burger came out fast with the standard fare of toppings of pickles, onions (quite a few), tomato and lettuce. The fries are all you can eat (I should mention this to my husband). I was pretty full halfway through my meal but hey, it's a Thursday why not go all out. Was the burger life changing? No, but the meal was decent and with all you can eat fries how can you complain a lot. The standout was the service. Nakita was amazing. She came back just at the right times to ask if I needed anything and refilled my water at the right times. Everything done with a smile. That is what is going to keep me going back.

We went to Shawn O'Donnell's after the Seahawks parade and rally so it was an exceptionally busy day for all the bars and restaurants in the area. Our server was great and we enjoyed our food. They ran out of many menu items because of the large volumes of customers this day. I would like to go back and try more of their menu. I liked the soda bread with sweetened butter we got for the table although the bread was on the milder end as far as soda bread goes. Still tasty and I had two pieces. I ordered the Shepard's pie and it was very good. The portion was generous and the dish was hot! I think there was a ton of butter in this dish. I tasted the whiskey mac and cheese which had pieces of corned beef incorporated throughout and I enjoyed that, too. My Irish coffee was solid as it should be at an Irish bar. I would definitely return. We had a great experience! Normally I don't think reviewing a place after only one visit and on an extraordinary day is fair. If we had had a poor experience I would have given them a break and chalked it up to the huge crowds and unusual circumstances. In spite of the high volume and running out of menu items they still delivered tasty, hot food and friendly service so I think they deserve a good review after our one visit. I would love to go back.

I was glad to be able to order corned beef and cabbage here, which turned out to have the perfect flavor of savory and salty, and shredded effortlessly under my fork. Wife had great fish and chips, and we both munched on fries until we were past full because they were "bottomless." She also ordered a black velvet which she was quite happy with.

Shawn's Seattle location is a wonderful find in downtown. They have awesome food including a great selection of Irish favorites. You won't find better Corned Beef anywhere! The Boxty Cakes and the Irish Nachos are unique to Shawn's and are absolutely worth the trip. The service is always attentive and friendly and the drinks are well crafted. Don't miss the Happy Hour - best in town!

Happy Hour Menu til 7 every night. Our server Ryan spent some time comparing Alaskan White and Manny's. Manny's won. We knew what food to order on the happy hour menu from reading yelp. Homemade Irish clam chowder, Shepard's Pie, Corn Beef with warm Irish Soda Bread. Did I mentioned Happy Hour Menu! Great value!

In typical Irish fashion, this place delivers the good beer, good food and good cheer. I stopped by after enjoying the Seattle views from the Smith Tower next door and I highly recommend it. Their Happy Hour menu has fantastic prices. The Irish style clam chowder is fantastic - it's so tasty, and full of ingredients. I got the soda bread with it and it made a meal. The soda bread is not strictly traditional Irish, but it is soooo tasty with baked in butter and honey. The Happy Hour portions are smaller than dinner, but very generous. I sat at the bar and ordered cocktails. It wan't busy and the bartender was very willing to modify the menu recipes to my liking. The pour is generous. There are a couple of TV's that you can see from some of the dining area. There is also outdoor seating. If you are in the neighborhood, definitely stop by this place. It's a nice combo outing if you are going to the Smith Tower. I wouldn't make a special trip to get her though.

Wow, this may be the only authentic Irish Pub in Pioneer Square! No hummus, no kale, not for hippies. Real, fresh fish and chips, great soda bread, and don't forget the boxty cakes. Even better, the service is quick! We arrived at 5:30 on a Friday to a packed house and were eating 20 minutes later. The happy hour is competitively priced. I will be back!

I've been here several times now. One of my favorites. It can be quiet sometimes especially on a weeknight but I like that sometimes. Tina, Jeff, and Chase are all great and the service is always good. The drunken wings are special, you can taste the spiced rum but it really adds to the spice and is not over powering. I've had Jacobs Ladder and the Cuban Ruben, both are good but I liked Jacobs Ladder better. I always come back here when in town.

My first experience with this pub was on a particularly difficult day (our office was moving to pioneer square, and everything was going horribly horribly WRONG). Needing some frosty libations to lift our spirits, we stopped in here for dinner. In less than 10 minutes, we had decided to make it our office bar/lunch stop. We have come back several times since then (which has been within 2 weeks) and I love it every time. The menu is unique and the food is GREAT!!! I LOVE the pretzel bun on the burger!!! Good beers on tap and spirits as well! Shawn is really what makes the place great, too. He works as the bartender/server in the bar area and is just delightful. Such a NICE GUY! We have enjoyed chatting with him every time we have come in. I love hanging out and just having a few beers at a bar, and having a bartender that is not only good at his job but friendly and personable seals the deal! Working in the restaurant as well as being the owner (I'm making that assumption, you know, based on the name...) really shows his dedication to the pub. The decor inside is very cute and the atmosphere is extremely welcoming. By the way - try the wings. Don't ask, just do it. They aren't buffalo wings like you're used to, so don't be expecting anything like that, but they are awesome! I highly recommend this place! Just don't go to often -- I can't have my new bar be too crowded. ;)

The food was great. Probably the best Ruben I've ever had. We also had the peppercorn bacon burger and it was really good too. The prices are very reasonable, especially for being downtown in the city. The server was friendly and efficient. I would recommend and I would visit again.

Place was really good! Had AMAZING wings and Bacon Cheeseburgers. even though the place was packed after the game we still got our food quickly and the service was awesome! Definitely a great place to go after a Seahawks/Sounders game!

dinner food: ordered the bacon cheddar burger. it was recommended by the server. it wasnt bad. not the best burger i have had, but then not the worst either. not something i would go back for. you cant really taste the beef, but the bun is nice. the bacon was good. but cmon, the worst kind of bacon is still very good. ***3/5 service: the server was nice. it was my first visit and she was quick on the water and service. there werent many tables though. just us and another one i think. orders were quick and she recommended some popular items in the restaurant. ***5/5 ambiance: it looks bar-ish. hence the name. i think people would like it if theyre into sports. the sounders game was going on and i think most were actually at the game. plenty of seating area though. ***4/5 price: average pricing on the food. about 10 bucks for the burger. probably some place i can go to when theres nothing else around. ***4/5

Great burgers and beers. A little greasy but tasty. Reuben is good with the spicy horseradish, too, a little greasy. Great happy hour prices and it goes to 7p. Nice find walking down from Harborview Hospital to the ferry.

Disclaimer: We ate here for lunch on a non-game day Saturday. Though I would eat/drink here on a busy day before a game after the experience we had. The food was delicious and we fell in love with the Irish Soda Bread they brought to the table while waiting. We ordered the London Broil (yummy & tender) and fish & chips (flaky and loved the breaded covering vs. the usual batter). If you are trying to choose between here and FX McRorys.... Eat here. The food and service is one million times better. I've eaten at FX McRorys on a busy and a dead day. So I can say this.

Went here before a Sounders FC game; perfect pre-game destination. Had really good food and a few beers, along with other Sounders fans. Worked out well, since it's in walking distance of CenturyLink.

Great service and great food. Billy, the bar tender, was very nice and quick to get us food or drinks as needed. The bacon cheddar burger was awesome. The flavors just hit perfectly. Onion rings had a great crispy flavor. I also had clam chowder that was pretty good. I also purchased the yelp deal that was $10 for $20 and it really paid off! I will return here in the future and plan to tell others, and bring others!!

I just ordered a Blarney Burger and Chowder. Hot, FRESH, and fast (Bite Squad delivery). The fries were actually cooked nicely and crisp, not at all greasy/oily when they arrived. The burger was huge; I could hardly get my mouth around it; cooked to a PERFECT MEDIUM, and the lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickle that came with it were crisp, fresh, tasty. The bun was not your typical soft, flimsy bun. Secret sauce? OUT OF THIS WORLD, and great on the fries, too! I had to at least 'taste' the chowder - no room to finish - that will be for lunch tomorrow. It was, by the way, DELICIOUS! Also arrived nice and hot, and a generous portion. I think I found a new go-to restaurant, and I can't wait to try more of the menu.

The Rueben is tasty. The service was quick but I think our server may have been somewhat new as she was "hovering" by our table for most of the time we were there. Which was obnoxious but only mildly so. A great lunch though! Everyone enjoyed their food and the location was convenient for some afternoon shopping afterwards. It's a big place and super kid friendly.

This place is great. Great vibe, with friendly, fast service. The food was great. I'm a big fan of an Irish pub that serves authentic Irish dishes, and this place hits the mark. Very reasonable lunch specials. I had the Shepherds Pie lunch, which was awesome. Add a pint of Guinness.

My partner and I decided to try this place because we were in the mood for burgers. Was not busy when we arrived and the service was excellent. Burgers hit the spot and the cocktails we tried were good. I would recommend this place and it is reasonably priced for the area. Happy hour deals was much appreciated.

This place is incredible! Came for lunch with my family. Homemade fish and chips, tartar sauce, fries, mac n cheese with corned beef, and clam chowder are delicious! The owner is extremely friendly too! Guinness on tap as well! Highly recommend!

Happy! I had such a positive experience today. I wanted to try this place for lunch so I went. The hostess was very friendly when I walked in. She originally showed me to the regular dining area but it felt cramped with so many people. I was actually surprised how busy it was. Must be the Smith Tower tenants. I decided to sit at the bar area instead since it was closer to the TV and I had more room to breathe. The gentleman at the bar had an accent. Love it! I work with a guy with an Irish accent and I enjoy listening to him talk. I ordered corned beef and cabbage. He offered me the lunch portion size and I'm glad he did. I didn't want to waddle back to work and pass out from a food coma. That kind of heavy eating is for after work and weekends. While I waited I was given soda bread. Ohhhh was it good. Hot right out of the oven. Fluffy and delicious. Honey butter...mmmm... Now comes the corned beef and cabbage. Ok, so whoever is cooking in the back is fantastic at what they do! The meat and potatoes just melted in my mouth and the cabbage was cooked to perfection. A couple of other customers were sitting at the bar as well. I had a nice conversation with them right before I left. I also talked to another employee at the bar. Really nice guy. I couldn't wait to run back to work and tell my coworkers about this place. I boxed up my soda bread and shared it with a coworker. Yah, he was impressed and he told me he was going to visit soon. This place is a fantastic addition to the Pioneer Square neighborhood. I can tell they take pride in their friendly and excellent customer service. They'll do very well in downtown Seattle.

After being turned down at a few nearby restaurants who had already sent their kitchen staff home, I thought I would give this spot a try. The bartender was a complete sweetheart who said that even though the kitchen was in the middle of closing for the night, I could still order whatever I wanted off the menu and it would be no problem whatsoever. I ordered a sandwich, I drank a Guinness, I listened to Celtic harp and flute music while they cooked it. I was honestly so happy that anyone was still serving food, and that an employee had gone out of his way to accommodate me, that they could have brought me a Safeway sandwich and I would have been overjoyed. In a complete wasteland of decent nightlife (barring the trashy clubs), it's a joy to find a place with employees who still care about customers. I'm an easy customer, by any count, and I'll be back.

We came here to watch seahawks game v.s 49ers. Service was really good. We were being served by a server named Chase. Go hawkss!!

Only visited for a quick happy hour, but quite happy with this place. Decor is heavy on the Irish theme, with a few TVs over the bar showing sports and mix of booths and stool-height tables. Seats are comfortable and the place is clean. Maybe a little cold on this winter night, but that's Smith Tower for ya. Likes: 1) They have Lucille and Manny's (Georgetown Brewery) on tap for $4.50 for a 20oz during happy hour (two of my favorite beers). A ton of other Irish beers on tap too (Guiness obviously). 2) They have a pretty good $2/$4/$6/$8 item happy hour menu with typical bar food dishes. I had the fish and chips for $6. Not too shabby. 3) My food came quick and service was very pleasant and attentive. 4) Happy hour starts at 2pm! and they have a late night happy hour too! 5) Food was pretty good, I'm looking forward to trying their Reuben. Gonna be tough competition with Tat's across the street though... Cons: Air temp was cold, Irish jig music maybe a little too much. Overall this place is great little spot in Pioneer Square. Collins Pub next door is good too, but is so much more expensive and a little boring. I'll be coming back to O'Donnell's.

After the parade 2014 for Seahawks we walked in and it was packed . A gentleman nice casually dressed was behind the counter at the entrance. He immediately explained to us it would be a wait, the wait time, we agreed, he took our name, then showed us where to stand. He offered to get us something to drink while we waited. He immediately brought us cups of hot coffee and cream. He kept us updated and kept our drinks filled. Not long he cleared a table and asked us if it would be ok. We agreed. He immediately took our order. Corned beef cabbage diner and fish and chips were there in a very short time. Asked if we would like different drinks with the meal and we did. He immediately got those for us. I was very impressed with his service. As we finished our dinner and talking he asked if we wanted something else. He recommended dessert and politely referred us to a young lady standing at his side to take our order. She was also very polite and quick on the desserts. He came back and checked on us and joked around about the days events. Food was great, beverages were good and cold, coffee was hot. We both were very impressed by his service. So we wanted to know this gentleman's name. We asked the girl as we paid our tab with a very good tip. He had not charge us for the coffee we had while we waited. She left before telling us. The gentlemen came to the table and thanked us for coming by. We told him we both were very impressed with his service and the food. We asked him his name. The girl was back with our receipt. He responded, "Shawn O'Donnell". The girl smiled and nodded yes. We were pleasantly surprised and shook his hand. FIVE STARS all the way. Repeat customers: YES.

Yum! Great new lunch option in the Pioneer Square area. I was lured in by their lunch special sandwich board, and ordered the shepherd's pie to go. It was crazy delicious--perfect for a cold Seattle day! I wasn't super hungry but I had to finish the whole thing, just for the taste. Whoops. I would encourage them to expand on their lunch specials and offer at least one lighter option since all of the current options are on the heavy side (which is not a bad thing, but it's tough to do 5 days a week). I'll definitely be back next time I'm craving some meat and potatoes.

YEAH!! Shawn O'Donnell's comes to Seattle!! LOVE their Everett location (actually having our company Christmas party there!) and SO HAPPY that there is now one in Seattle! They are located right off of James St. in the famous Smith Tower. Same great service! Same great food! (BEST shepherds pie ever!!) Same GREAT drinks! Fun and friendly atmosphere. We actually met some strangers & ended up having a great time & exchanged info to meet up after the next SeaHawks game! They won the BEST of KING 5's EVENING MAGAZINE for several years running. Five minutes here & you will see why... Congrats to an excellent family run business for making the big step to start a second location! I am definitely one that will be supporting your place!!!

I've ate here before and the food was good as it was today but, today it was very dirty and seems to have dropped in health and sanitation standards. The seat, table and menu were sticky. Other tables looked the same, carpet is filthy and bathroom looked disheveled. The food and service was good and the waitress was very nice and did her job well. There seemed to be plenty of staff but never saw anyone clean anything. Come on management up your game. filthy, sticky and dirty is a major turn-off. Had my sweetheart not been starving we would've left.

Not only is the food absolutely amazing (best fish & chips I've had up north so far), but the bartenders are some of the friendliest, kindest people I've ever met. Jay is phenomenal and always takes care of you. Best place to welcome you to the PNW I've found. It almost feels like home.

This place is brand new and at the bottom of The Smith Tower. It's a more upscale looking Irish Pub but it's got some classics and according to the menu, the family has a proud Irish heritage. According to them, it's family friendly. We came in on a Saturday night and were the only ones here, the poor staff looked bored and were watching football, but friendly nonetheless. I figure it's cause they are so new. We both ended up ordering a Rasher burger. Apparently Rasher, is Irish bacon and I'm a little sad I didn't know that since I'm part Irish and a red-head lol. The burgers were really good and I have to say I was scared when I picked up a fry and it was coated in salt, but amazingly it was the perfect amount. They were honestly the best fries I've ever had. Near the end, the owner actually showed up and was hanging out with the few of us that were in there. He genuinely cared what we thought, which was great! I definitely would go back.

We met friends from out of town here recently before doing the nighttime Underground Tour. We'd never been, but the reviews implied it would be a great place for a quick bite and a beer (we had over an hour, though, so we figured we had plenty of time). And I love a good Irish pub. When we got there there, I only saw one other customer. Suffice to say it was pretty dead. The server/host was very friendly and seated us promptly, and we got our drinks quickly. My bf and I both ordered the reuben (our friends weren't eating). After ordering, another couple was seated nearby. We waited about 30 minutes for our food, watched the other couple get their food, and finally flagged down the server. She went to check with the kitchen, then told us there'd been a mix-up and they never started our meals. Okay...well, if they hurried we'd have time to bolt it down. So we continued to wait, probably 15 more minutes. We made eye contact with the server once more, and she nodded and went towards the kitchen (to check on our food? I guess?) Another couple minutes went by, the other couple finished and paid their bill. We realized we had less than 10 minutes to tour time. We went to the register and told the server to cancel the food, we didn't have time to keep waiting. She said "oh, okay", had the manager cancel the orders, and we paid. They each said "sorry about that". Friendly enough, but a seriously lame response to totally screwing up our dinner. How do you miss an order - twice? They'd had almost an hour to make two sandwiches with only two other orders, and all we get is a shrug and "sorry"? I don't care about mistakes as long as a place owns up and makes any effort to make it right. This place couldn't be bothered (to do anything, really), so I won't be back.

My boyfriend and I LOVE this place. Our go to place for dinner out. Such good food! The peppercorn bacon burger may be the best burger my boyfriend says he has ever had, and he eats a lot of burgers. Good veggie options too, even for pub food. GREAT fries. My dad is a die hard Red Robin fan and we took him here and he has actually admitted that the burgers here are better! ;-)

I went there twice last week cause it was so good! Service is excellent and the food is delicious. Has the fish and salad the first time and the fish was extra crispy and the salad was delicious! Next time i had the lunch rueben that was smaller than a regular sized sandwich which I appreciates at lunch time and their yummy salad again. Look forward to trying their happy hour soon.

So this review is a little late, as I visited the day after the Lombardi trophy came home to Seattle! Needless to say, the city was a little sleepy I was told from the festivities! We pretty much had the pub to ourselves due to this. The service was so amazing and the food was so awesome I felt compelled to write a review afterall. I wasn't expecting alot, you know, a pub burger. But WOW was in for a shock, it was so mouthwatering, and full of flavor, I was super impressed! We went for lunch, so it's on the lunch menu "Bees Knees chicken sandwich" with honey mustard dressing, lettuce, tomatoe, and I added pickle, on a molasses oat roll with fries. It sure lived up to its name! I also had my first Harp beer, I question why it took me so long to try this beer, so glad our server recommended it. A group of us girls were staying at the Marriott up the street, so we stumbled across this great pub, I will for sure be returning next time I'm in town!

I cannot imagine a more stale place to grab a drink after work. It felt like a chain, and that is that last thing most people in Seattle want. I went there with co-workers for a Monday Happy Hour drink and it was completely empty. The drinks were fine, and the prices were reasonable, but the atmosphere was just totally lacking.

Having recently moved to Seattle we decided to check out Shawn O'Donnell's new Seattle Location. We have enjoyed eating at the Everett location for years prior to relocating downtown. We found the interior to be warm and inviting and what a cool location in the iconic Seattle landmark the Smith Tower. The menu appears to be the same as we enjoyed up north. The Pretzel roll on the burger is fabulous and I always love their Reuben as well as the Irish humor on the walls. Fun place Hearty food!

This is a wonderful place for beer or wine or a cocktail and some Irish pub fare like a shepherd's pie. You will find a very hospitable crew there: Shawn, Chase, Billy, Megan & Riley. The beer selection is especially well-balanced; you can have a Guinness or a microbrew from Georgetown or Deschutes. Great location at the street level of Smith Tower so it is near all the major sports events in Seattle. Plus, an outside seating area if you want al fresco. You will find yourself returning to O'Donnell's.

Went there yesterday with some girl friends for some happy hour out on a patio in the sun. The service was amazing, Shawn Jr. the owner was prompt and full of smiles. The happy hour food was large and the pretzel burger was amazing. We stayed much longer than expected and had a wonderful time. Looking forward to hitting this place up before a Sounders game next time.

We just (meaning I literally got back about 5 minutes ago) had our work holiday lunch there and it was a great success! The space was a little tight for the 11 of us but staff was very helpful in getting us accommodated. The server (all the staff, really) was relaxed, friendly and attentive. Our food came out impressively quickly and was very tasty! And we were able to get separate checks! Always a bonus with a large group. Lots of folks said they'd be back and I'd strongly recommend it as a good solid pub meal.
