Um....give me back my sock, it is part of a pair. I wanted Anthony's Homeport to really knock my socks off; instead they only stole one of them making me feel vulnerable and slightly chilly on one side. Let me start off with what must be the absolute jewel of this Anthony's location, the view. Without a doubt their massive windows offer incredible opportunities for people watching as well as sunset viewing. Matter of fact, during this visit we were treated to the antics of some man twirling a jump rope vigorously outside while hopping around spastically. I believe he may have been practicing for the highly revered Ninja Olympics...who knows, I've been wrong before. Unquestionably during the day these windows must allow light to come pouring into the restaurant creating a lively atmosphere. Be aware though that after you admire that amazing sunset over the Sound get ready to pull out your cell phone to use as flash light. The light is just horribly dim after dark and I had a hard time seeing what was on my plate which in turn required me to ask my server for details about my dish that I would have otherwise been able to identify. The chef here seems dedicated to incorporating seasonal ingredients into his dishes and on this visit peaches were in full swing. So for our fruity foreplay we ordered a peach cosmo and peach lemon drop cocktail which were delicious and could single handedly make me a regular at the bar. For appetizers I opted for an order of Barron Point Oysters on the half shell. I was happy to see that they were presented on an elevated tray of ice accompanied by standard condiments. The freshness of the oysters themselves was spot on and I slurped away in quiet happiness. My partner, not much of a shellfish enthusiast went with the shrimp cocktail. This also was well presented in a cocktail glass where the shrimp was nestled soundly within a lettuce bowl. I found this dish boring and tiresome after the first few bites. The shrimp quickly got lost in all the sauce and it began to resemble something I would find in the cat food aisle. Next up, a Caesar salad topped with fresh ground pepper. According to our server the dressing was made in-house and didn't fail to impress, light and not overpowering, a good recommendation indeed. For the main course I couldn't pass up the grilled halibut cheeks covered in a ginger sauce and topped with a fresh made peach salsa. Halibut cheeks are sweet flavored and in my opinion considered a delicacy due to their natural richness. Unfortunately for me some of them were slightly overdone hindering them from doing their duty of melting away into oblivion upon my tongue. The ginger sauce was extremely mouthwatering and helped mask this flaw as did the peach salsa which may have been the reason I will be sock shopping this weekend. You could really taste the freshness, HOORAY, for their utilization of seasonal ingredients. Sides for this dish included a basmati rice and green beans. The rice I fell in love with immediately and accompanied my dish perfectly, the beans on the other hand were unexciting and tasteless, course it's hard for anything to stand out on a plate that shares it space with halibut cheeks, overcooked or not. This brings me to the plate on which it was served. This china had a cheesy looking salmon on it which I suppose was to remind me that I was in a seafood restaurant but instead it just invoked images of Red Lobster and fancy paper plates found at 4th of July picnic celebrations. I certainly don't need these images to remind me of my environment and find their presence a bit tacky. Though I suppose this made up for the lack of décor present in the restaurant which was bland and uninspired. Fine I get it, you have a great view but a touch of flare inside wouldn't hurt, though I do chuckle at the thought of people pulling out flashlights after dark to view any artwork that would be hanging from the walls. Desert was ordered and if one wasn't sold on fresh peaches at this point this would definitely do it. It consisted of said peaches and raspberries in a small bowl of peach flavored, creamery ice cream. This little dish successfully ended all conversation at the table because we were too enamored with the flavor fiesta to bother with simple talk. I found the service here to be absolutely outstanding. Our server was friendly and able to answer all questions put to him with confidence, quite unlike the subpar service you will find elsewhere in town. This was extremely helpful in providing me a pretext for my order and especially useful when the lights went out and all I could see was that damn fish smiling up at me from my plate. Is Anthony's a theater of culinary pleasure...hardly, but they do get a lot of things right and I look forward to a return visit, most likely during the day.

This place is awesome. Great food. All you can eat crab on Sundays. Also a great place to take a date if you want to class it up a bit. A tad pricey but not out of control. Fair price for what you get with the food and the view. This is where I would go for a nice meal in Olympia.

Great food and service. The sunset special (seat before 6 p.m.) is a great value, too.

Solid seafood form a northwest classic. Nothing revelatory here, but you'll be satisfied. Fish is always well-prepared and they have a good array of choices. I've been here with kids and they were good about it; it's also handy that you can go run the toddlers around outside on the waterfront to burn off some energy if required. The summer seasonal desserts can be worth the wait, using fresh produce from around the state (peaches, huckleberries, strawberries), so save some room for one. Note that there is nothing "wrong" with Anthony's; it's a good restaurant, probably really a 3.5 star kind of place. Important to make reservations if you don't want a wait.

This place was overpriced. The lemon drop was terrible, the seafood is better at the Oyster House nearby, and the service was slow. It is trying too hard on the ambiace too.. seemed fake.

I only come here for two things - their mahi mahi fish tacos and clam chowder. Both are delicious.

Very nice place. Atmosphere is great. If you want a great happy hour this is the place. From 3-6:30 I believe you won't regret it. If you like oysters baked or raw, clams and shrimp you won't be disapointed. All beers on tap are discounted. Half pound of clams is only $5, thats more than half off the regular price. The baked oysters are the best .50 a piece and they are delicious. Same with the oyster shooters. You must try to sushi nachos. Awesome! Raw tuna mixed with I think was a little pineapple then placed on individual chips and they aren't skimpy on the sushi portion. The food is good too. I love the seafood fettucini.

This is an okay place. I go there for lunch quite a bit because it has an incredible view of Bud Bay that my guests really enjoy. I usually order the Hawaiian cobb salad or fish tacos. Yesterday, the waitress recommended an oyster burger, since they were having an "oyster festival." I told her that I'd had a lot of bad oyster burgers at various restaurants, and that I was more than a little skeptical. However, she assured me that theirs was great. Wrong. Either it had been overcooked or it had been cooked in old oil -- the breading was dark brown and greasy. It was my fault for ordering the thing in the first place. I also wonder about the process of taking lunch reservations, since I've gone with and without, and I always get a ten minute wait. Also, they do have take-out. But, you have to place your order at the restaurant. Go figure. This is a good place for a business lunch and the food is decent.

I've been to Olympia twice, and either because of a lack of choices, or because the locals adamantly recommend this joint, I've visited during both of my trips out. This is definitely a classic quality restaurant in a great location. First off, I must say that Olympian Oysters ROCK! I love them, and this is the only place I've ever had them. Very fresh, smaller than your run-of-the-mill oyster, and very sweet. The entrees here were very nice, we took a client who also thoroughly enjoyed himself. The desserts were also fantastic. If you find yourself in Olympia, this is a sure win.

Olympia's take on a Pacific Northwest institution, this Anthony's homeport is in a beautiful location right on the Budd Inlet Marina, sharing a parking lot with the Olympia Farmer's Market. I was recently here for a business lunch and had one of the best salmons salads I've had in a while. The salmon was cooked perfectly, and it was prepared with a light green salad with grapefruit (is this a new food trend, its the second time I've had grapefruit in a salad in a month) and a citrus dressing. Really yummy! My friends had the fish and chips (standard, nothing special) and kal bi (unexpected for a place like Anthony's). Overall a great dining experience. Minus one star for being so sterile and mediocre robot-like service.

Love Anthony's Homeport. I get the Yellowfin Ahi every time and it never disappoints! Avoid the crab fettucine, not enough crab, too much mushroom...I want meat in my mouth!!!! Keep up the good work Homeport!

See, that's the thing about mauve. I have neither complaints nor raves about food, drink, service. I just couldn't shake the feeling that it was 1982... expecting Stanley Guzik to come ask me to dance. No, I will NOT make out with you in your parent's basement! I think even the same air has been in this place for the past 20 years. My preference is to shake it off and trek over to the Dockside, or around the bend to Anthony's Hearthfire, depositing myself in the appropriate decade. Whew!

Anthony's is the restaurant my wife always chooses to go for her birthday so when that annual event came around again this year off we went. As usual we were greatly satisfied with our experience, Kathy had her usual Chop-chop Salad, I strayed from my usual Ahi to the Garlic Dungeness Crab, and my son had a Sirloin. We all loved our choices but we all commented on how the serving sizes seemed to have shrunk in last year. I guess that is to be expected from out economy, but I would rather pay a couple of bucks more and get good sized portions than save a couple of bucks and go away hungry.

Walk-in and right away you feel at home, nice comfortable, rustic feel,my waitress Jordon explain the menu to me and I settle on a bowl of Northwest Cioppino which was great, lots of seafood, the sourdough bread hot and good.Talk to manager Scott after the meal to let him know the Scenic View and the good food made my day. This is the place to eat if you are ever in Oylmpia Washington

hands down one of the best happy hours in olympia. $3 draft beers, $5 wine and specialty cocktails. $5 appetizers, love the ahi nachos. and i believe they have happy hour on weekend too. get here early, bar area gets crowded during the week.

I'm worried about my communication skills. I was having the killer Peach Slump at the bar and one of the servers came over and said "isn't that great? I think I've has fifteen of those this season". I replied with "yes, aren't they great, tonight is their last night", and she disappeared like a rocket. I think I was supposed to hear " I think I've has fifteen of those this season, perhaps I over indulged." Okay, I'm a guy and we're always accused of not really listening, But what I really heard was... Too much of a good thing is a really good thing!

Went to Anthony's last Friday with a group of work friends and my family. I expected to pay a lot of money for food and drinks, but at the end of the night was extremely surprised, 3 adult entrees, 1 shared kid entree, two appetizers, wine, beer and desert for less than $200! The appetizers we ordered were the shrimp cocktail and a cup of clam chowder. The chowder was tasty, but nothing spectacular. The shrimp cocktail was not what I was expecting, but was very well presented on a bed of lettuce and chopped up celery. I ordered the cod, for my entree and was sadly a little disappointed with the lack of flavor, but the fish was extremely fresh and the sides were delicious. My mom ordered a steak and it looked great. She said that it was cooked perfectly and very well seasoned. My wife ordered the halibut, and her dish was the star of the night. The fish cooked perfectly, seasoned well, and the presentation was superb. In fact all our dishes were plated with care and an eye for perfection. The service was great, though a tad slow at times. The place was busy and we were in no rush. The atmosphere was buzzing with the kind of low level talk background noise you hear at restaurants, and when I looked around I saw people having a good time. The restaurant sits near a marina and has a great seating area with large windows. Those windows open on a great view of the marina environment. All in all, this is a great place to come and get great appetizers, dinner and drinks with friends in a casual environment, for a very fair price.

Really, I have to say...the food here appeals to people with unadventurous palates. My in-laws consider it the best in town. I love them and respect them dearly, but these are people who eat veggies and cheese sauce from cans. It's in a pretty location. It's priced so that those folks who rarely eat anywhere interesting feel like they're getting something great. They're not, especially at lunch. I had a pretty acceptable piece of seared Ahi here once. It also cost more than an AMAZING piece of seared Ahi costs in a luxury beachfront restaurant in Maui. Seriously. I'm not joking. There is no excuse for that. If you want a view, ambiance and interesting food, you're better off at Dockside or Swing.

  • Gardy J.

Went here for dinner with my fiancee and parents and it was terrible. I only give 2 stars for the view, because you're paying for the view - NOT the food. They served me a whole slice of bacon COLD with congealed white lard on it with my wedge salad ???? for starters and completely massacred a beautiful piece of halibut to the point it was dry as a leather shoe. My fiancee's shrimp scampi were also the equivalent of a rubber eraser they too were so overcooked. It's NOT worth it here for $35+ and higher per plate until the kitchen can execute seafood properly. Save your money.

I was recommended this restaurant by 2 friends who have lived in Olympia. And they were spot on. There's a full list of local beers on tap, they use a lot of local produce, and they serve organic sourdough bread. This girl has seen a lot of carbs in her day and that bread was some of the best I've ever had. The Northwest Cioppino was excellent. I would definitely recommend ordering salmon here especially if you aren't from the Northwest; it will be a real treat. The view is spectacular and you can walk off some of those carbs on the dock.

My wife and I were recently in Olympia for a wedding and decided to go out for a "nice" meal. Based on the reviews, Anthony's seemed like an obvious choice. Unfortunately, the best I can describe Anthony's is "upscale Denny's". We called and asked for reservations at 7:30 for two, the hostess asked us if 7:45 was ok, which as said would work. Our thought was that we were lucky to get that as they must have been almost booked up being it was a Saturday night! Upon our arrival we were a little taken aback. The restaurant was half empty, so we were unsure why we couldn't get the time we requested. In fact, in the section we were seated, we were only one of two couples in the entire section! The restaurant itself is very open, and unfortunately also very loud. For whatever reason they have their waiter station in the middle of the floor so you constantly hear the clattering of silverware and the clanging of dishes. When we asked the waiter what he would recommend, he said the crab cakes were the best. We ordered those as well as the calamari as our appetizer. The calamari was good, but the crab cake left little to be desired. It was obviously deep fried and I found several pieces of crab shell in the meat while eating it. My wife and I both ordered pasta dishes (Seafood Pasta and Dungeness Crab Linguini). Both were OK flavor wise, but again I found several pieces of crab shell in my pasta. Between the crab cakes and the pasta, I would say the seafood is fresh but poorly cleaned. Based on the dinner, we decided to skip dessert. All in all, we were very disappointed as we expected more. This is not an upscale restaurant, it's a notch above Denny's. If you're looking for a nice sit down meal, you might want to look elsewhere. Side note: Our table was very, tacky? Sticky? We couldn't slide anything across the table, we're unsure if this is purposeful or due to cleanliness? Just felt like it would be something worth mentioning.

I felt like I was paying for the atmosphere and the location. Beautiful restaurant and beautiful scenery, however the food was very sub par. My swordfish was bland and flavorless, as well were my crab cakes. I was very disappointed, I wanted to love this place so badly.

Ponzu salmon was good. I really enjoyed the salad and rice that came with it. And the Slump is a wonderful dessert! And the clam chowder= YUMMY!

Just go and experience for yourself. Great food and great service makes for a splendid time. Was anxious to get some seafood as we've been away a while. Decided on Anthony's. We splurged a bit on apps (small plates), mains, dessert, and wine. All was very good. Highly recommend the calamari and crab cakes. They're were light, crispy, and paired well with the beurre blanc. Same goes for the sockeye salmon. It's a different flavor and texture than the wild salmon you normally get at other restaurants, but I rather enjoyed it.

We stopped here on a Friday Night for my wife's birthday, and ended up leaving rather disappointed. The pricing was OK, but poor cleanliness, poor service, and mediocre food means we won't be back. The majority of their "Fresh and local" daily menu was explicitly frozen items from elsewhere. My $35 King Salmon was overcooked, and my wife's Steak was overpriced for the size and quality. The worst part, however, was the side items. My wife's was served with mashed potatoes that she says tasted old, and mine came with a potato dish that sounded amazing on the menu (scalloped russet potatoes with a ribbon of sweet potatoes and gruyere cheese) but mediocre in execution. Combined with a server that never brought us a basket of the delicious sourdough bread (a reocurring issue, looking at the other reviews), the 15 minutes we waited after eating before they noticed we were ready for our check, and the lipstick-residue covered water glasses waiting for us on the table, we will not be back.

Service is impressive- professional and courteous. The food is very tasty. Their seafood selection is great. I had a sirloin and lobster special that was very satisfying. The steak was perfect at medium rare, mostly pink throughout, and the spices were not overdone but flavorful. The atmosphere is upscale and it seems like almost every table has a water view.

Worse service experience ever. My husband and I sat there 20minutes after we ordered our drinks and never got them. This has been the second bad experience we have had here but wanted to give them another shot. My recommendation is to just walk over to Bud Bay and get real service and much better food. They don't even deserve a 1 star. I would also like to add that I have never given a bad review before and I would never just walk out, but in this case we did.

Anthony's answer to Happy Hour Specials: No Staff! My wife and I cam here for Happy Hour. We sat down at the bar and the server said they would be right back. Well, they never came back. We saw a couple hostesses and servers on their cell phones, but nobody wanted to help us out. Sooooo.... off to Budd Bay Café for Happy Hour (which is a very good happy hour). I have been to Anthony's before and the food was good and the service was fine. But, this was just unacceptable. A restaurant shouldn't advertise Happy Hour and then not staff the bar for Happy Hour. Could have been an isolated incident, but I will likely not be back to confirm.

Great seafood, great service, and reasonable prices. I made reservations for a party of ten on the day of, and they were able to cheerfully accommodate. At the last minute more people joined our party and the hostess promptly added chairs without any fuss. I had the Northwest Cioppino and it was amazing! Everyone in my party loved their food, and are still talking about it days later. I recommend this for groups, but I would come here any time.

Ever since I introduced my mom to the concept of happy hour, that's all she's been wanting to do when we get the chance to hang out. The last time I visited her in Olympia, my mom wanted to do happy hour at Anthony's, where the appetizers were $5. We split between the two of us some oyster shooters, ahi nachos, clams. Overall it was alright but I was not a fan of the ahi nachos. The fish didn't seem fresh to me. I recommend sitting near a window since the place is pretty dim.

This used to be a favorite special occasion restaurant for our family but the last two times we have been there we have left disappointed. It appears that the portions have been down sized and the prices have gone up. Service has not been that great either - having to ask numerous times for refills on beverages. The menu selection is kind of boring and the preparation of fish lacking creativity. For the prices, they need to come up with some killer creations that make people want to come back for some specialty items. I love the views and ambiance but not enough to seek this place out any longer.

Ate at the bar as always. Don't believe in a "party of two". Clam chowder was tops. Happy hour, a great deal. Got done early so made it for sunset menu. I know we are getting older, but wasn't trying to take advantage of the place but it's a damn good deal if u make it by 6. Adam was behind the bar and was excellent.

Consistent service. Consistent food quality. Consistent Cleanliness. Yes. Yes. Yes. I like this place. No, I love this place. Especially when they have the huckleberry buckle! They also have a great happy hour.. They know how to prepare seafood properly, and also do a great job preparing their vegetables. In my experience, I have never received overcooked, undercooked, or overseasoned food here - it is always consistent, which I appreciate very much. In addition, as a previous foodserver, I can tell that our entrees have not spent time under the heat lamps - it has always been expedited to us in a timely manner and at the proper temperatures (entrees are hot & salads are crisp). Anthony's is perfect if you are looking to go for a relaxing, delicious dining experience WITHOUT having to gamble on food quality or service; you get the best of both of them here. I would give them 5 stars if they improved their wines by the glass (specifically Pinot Noir & Walla Walla Red selections). It would have been fun for them to offer a wine tasting flight of Wines during Washington Wine Month, but that is just a suggestion....

Went in on a Friday night to celebrate my birthday. Ambiance is great for a fancy dinner date. Had a drink at the bar and was called shortly to our booth. Our waitress was polite and great. The food was amazing! But had an unfortunate accident where my husband's plate had to be taken back and replaced after several bites. Our server was quick and sympathetic and his new plate was replaced and brought back by a manager who was very apologetic. To our surprise my husband's plate was replaced and taken off our bill. Food was amazing and the view outside is beautiful, so I will definitely be back.

I've travelled the East and West Coasts, but had the best Clam Chowder and Cioppino ever at Anthony's Homeport! I told our server (Chris A.) of our plans to split soups, an appetizer and entrée and thankfully they were not busy enough that he was able to accommodate our request. Our appetizer was the artichoke, shrimp and Dungeness crab dip and it tasted amazing! We split the crabcakes and they were delicious! Chris A's service was excellent and he represented the restaurant admirably! The crème brulee was a perfect finish!

We stopped here for lunch on our travels back down the Pacific Northwest. The restaurant has great atmosphere, and the large windows looking out on the water make for a great view. The food was good, but the service was, quite frankly, awful. She failed to bring an item that was ordered (although it was put on the bill), she gave us the wrong bill the first time, and trying to track her down proved to be somewhat of a chore. Although she apologized for the mix-up and offered to give us the bread order for free in a doggy bag, it was at that point just too much hassle to deal with. And, to be clear, this was lunch on a Friday, and the restaurant really wasn't that full, so there's not even the excuse of running around crazy. I am usually a pretty patient guy, as long as I can see some degree of effort...but it just wasn't there.

I've probably been here 50 times and I've never had a bad experience. Service is always top notch and the food is consistently good. My favorite thing to order is the ling cod that they bake in the oven with sour cream on it. It comes with delicious rice that has slivered almonds and golden raisins or dried cranberries it, so good! The ahi nachos or tempura veggies are my favorite appetizers, and their use of fresh, seasonal fruit in their desserts (slump!) is much appreciated. Call ahead for dinner reservations. They can usually get you in without them, but you might have to wait awhile, especially on the weekends. The only reasons I gave this place 4 stars instead of 5 is that their mixed drinks are pretty expensive, and it's always so dang loud in here. This is definitely one of my preferred places in Olympia for nights when I don't mind spending a bit of money for some wine and a nice dinner.

Pretty dang good tonight!!!! My grandpa got the steak and prawns! I tasted both and it was delicious! I got the scallops which were also yummy and generous on the portions! Service was attentive and friendly.

T'was the homie's bday and we gave him full control of what we were having for dinner. We decided to stop in Olympia for a couple of reasons: Sleater-Kinney and lesbians. Unfortunately, he picked the worst restaurant imaginable and as far from both of those things as possible. We knew this as soon as we saw it that it was going to be a tourist spot with bad food. We each got the pre-fix menu for $20 something/pp. The salmon cakes were nasty and dry, the salmon entree was overcooked, and the creme brulee thing made me want to vomit. The burnt top was not burnt or crisp at all, it was really soggy and tasted like nothing, but cream. The service sucked. We ony saw our server when she took our order and handed us our bill. We had to catch other servers to get us drinks, refill drinks, take bar menu orders. Ugh. It sucked.

In general Anthony's is not worth the price. Very bland, overcooked, over priced food. Honestly, I'd give them a one star if it wasn't for their salads. Their salads are a cornucopia of harmonizing flavors. Tasty, and healthy. I've heard their fried food is good, but what fried food isn't?

Atmosphere is very low key with a great view of the inlet and marina. During the warm summer months there is outside seating that really adds to the Pacific Northwest experience. Stop in for lunch they have a great chowder/sourdough bread bowl combo or some blackened tacos. Dinner is always amazing. If coming on a thurs-sat night definitely make a reservation. Appetizers = crab cakes are the best around. The tempura asparagus is very tasty and light. Drinks = lots of cold locals on tap and highly recommend a spiked lemonade with whatever there seasonal fruit special is. Yum! New york steak is some of the best. However all the steaks are juicy and perfectly cooked. Any of the seafood pastas are great as well. Love that they always run seasonal fruit specials in all categories of the menu. Vegetables are always fresh seasonal as well. Dessert = seasonal fruit slump or cremè brulee. Service at times can be hit and miss really depends on day and time of day. Overall though they are always very friendly and attentive. If its ever incorrect they are great about correcting and/or making up for it. We've never left unhappy or hungry.

The food was good but the service was the worst I have ever had. The waiter forgot multiple requests for utensils and only refilled our drinks once in two hours. I know what you are thinking, why were you there for two hours? Because the service was that slow. Also, the waiter gave us the wrong bill and only brought us bread when we requested half way through our meal. The bill was $60 and I left a $3 tip. Just to give you an idea of how I normally treat servers at restaurants, I usually tip about 20 percent. I was shocked at how terrible the service was. I will probably never go back, which sucks because Anthony's in Des Moines has always been awesome too bad the Olympia Anthony's is awful.

Went here recently and we were sorely disappointed with the food. The service was good and the staff was friendly though. I had the Dungeness crab fettuccine and it was passable. A little to rich but tasty. My wife had the seafood cipponio and it was practically inedible. The clams and mussels were gritty with sand. The fish was over cooked and the broth tasted like canned tomato soup. The prices were also a bit steep for the food quality but the view was very nice.

We went to Anthony's for dinner the other night, something we do about once a month. I ordered a martini before dinner and when the bill arrived, there was a $3.00 surcharge for the martini. Come on, Anthony's. Does it take that much more bartender time to make a martini than any other drink? I think this is just a case of nickel and diming the customers. We'll think twice before coming back here if that's going to be their policy.

The early dinner special is quite the steal! If you are seated by 6pm, you can get a 4-course meal for $19.95. I chose the shrimp cocktail, clam chowder, clam linguine, and ice cream. Everything was really delicious and the service was great, given our large party. We all requested separate checks and that was not a problem at all. We'll definitely be back!

I went there on a Wednesday night and ordered the lobster dinner special. I thought is was a fantastic deal because it was $19.95. The lobster tail was so small I could only get 3 bites out of it. The asparagus was steamed nicely, but this was what I had substituted for the rice. I should have known that you get what you pay for. I was still very hungry after I finished my dinner. The waiter was friendly though, but the person going around filling water could have paid attention a little better. I ran out twice and had to flag him down. A disappointing visit, probably won't go back for a long time now.

This place has an awesome happy hour from 4-7pm. a) It's awesome because it goes later than most happy hours, and b) the food and drink specials are pretty good. Beer is $3.50, I think, and wine is $5. They have delicious specialty drinks or $5, too. Also, select food specials are $5 or $7 and super filling. The best part of Anthony's, though,

Great ambience and excellent food. I had order Fresh Alaska Linger cod and it was delicious. It was grilled with cheese and sour cream. The basmati rice that came with it was also tasty. They had variety of fresh sea food selection on their menu. Service was also good.

Anthony's is a regional chain restaurant. It used to be one of my favorites. The food is still tasty but the prices have gone up considerably and the portions are much smaller. My last visit there I ordered the choppino and the broth was very good. There were two bites of fish, two small clams and 2 mussels in the delicious broth. And it was over $20.00.

Holy sweet mother. This was one of the best meals I've ever had. Had the Sunset Dinner for $20, four courses: Wild Salmon Croccantini 3/5: two thin crackers with garlic mash and delicious blackened salmon. It was pretty good, OK, though mash on a cracker?? The salmon was so good though. Clam chowder (cup) 5/5: perfect and amazing. Beef kabob & prawn 6/5: THE BEST THING I'VE EVER EATEN. Grilled beef, peppers, and onions on a kabob on a bed of spinach salad with corn, cream sauce, and almonds; wild rice with lime; crunchy coconut prawns with a sweet teriyaki sauce Bailey's Irish Cream chocolate mousse: 5/5 A perfect ending, even though I was so insanely full I could barely eat anything. But it was light, sweet and a little bitter, creamy, delicious! Portions were a great size; there was no skimping even though it was a set menu. They also served hot sourdough (so good!!), and we ordered a delicious oaky, Washington chardonnay for $7.50 a glass (Columbia Valley represent!). The other two people in our party ordered shrimp cocktail app (meh...taste mediocre in my opinion, but she really enjoyed it). The apps were more of an amuse-bouche, which is fine considering the size of the sides and entrees and desserts), caesar and blue cheese salads (said they were delicious, though they were over-dressed for me), rainbow trout (panko crusted, very very good), battered oysters (said they were the best she has had), and creme brulee (not quite set enough, still a bit thin with a distinct condensed milk taste. Not the best). Minor flaws aside (not very many, all very tasty and economical), with the service and speed and quality, variety, etc etc etc a delicious dinner. Atmosphere: 5/5! We were seated next to the window overlooking Percival's Landing, though it was busy it did not feel crowded, the service was great without being intrusive, and so on. Quite an enjoyable meal. Definitely will recommend to anyone coming through Olympia looking for a nice night out and some delicious PNW eats.

The food was well presented and tasty, unfortunately my wife's meal was mixed up with another and she didn't receive it until 5 min later. Later the waiter dropped a knife on a babies head that was sitting with us... Kind of an awkward experience.

Went here on a suggestion from a friend, for my birthday. On another suggestion from that friend, we asked for Phil's section. After a short wait, we were led to our seat by the perky hostess, in Phil's section. The service we received from here out was outstanding! Any questions we had, he had the answers. The drinks were top notch. I can't say enough about our experience. Wife had the Special of the Day, Daughter the Mac n Cheese, and I the char-grilled Halibut. All done to perfection!!! Thank You Anthony's for a Happy Birthday Dinner!!!

To start off positive, they have a very nice, clean restaurant. Beautiful view of the harbor. Nice selection of beer, wine, and cocktails. We had no problems with service, as others did, but we were there at 4:30, and the place was only 1/4 full. I don't care for sourdough bread, but my wife does, and she loved it. The clam chowder for a starter was run of the mill. Nothing spectacular. I had a steak with a tomato salad, and my wife had the linguine with clams. I have to agree with many other reviewers in that the food is just overpriced for the quality and amount on the plate. While we both agreed the food was OK, it just seems to miss that extra punch you'd expect for their prices. I was excited to have garden fresh tomatoes, but sadly, what looked like slices of heirlooms, were bland, mealy, and I had the inner green core on one slice. Also, when you sear a 7 oz. steak, it mostly tastes burned. We agreed it would not be worth a return trip.

This place is all about location and the price of the food is based on it. My boyfriend and I came here for his birthday dinner and I saw good reviews on yelp so I wanted to try it out. My gosh is the restaurant pretty.. We arrived at four thirty. First customers of the evening and we were sat at a dirty table. Crumbs and the seat and in the corner or the table, lazy like cleaning. We ordered the sunset dinner. 21.95 four course dinner. App.-shrimp cocktail with pre frozen baby shrimp with celery to take space. Salmon and potato crackers.. Two. Clam chowder was amazing and so was the cesar salad. Main course salmon fettuccine for him and top sirloin kabob and coconut pawns for me. His was dry and flavorless.. He didn't eat. Mine was OK. Steak was perfectly cooked, rice was plain and didn't complement the steak well. The hot buttered rums were way to expensive for how horrible they were. We didn't complain, the place was to fancy. Needless to say we will never pay 80.00 for dinner there again.

In my opinion, this is one of the best restaurants in Olympia. Other places are just as expensive, but they don't nearly have such good food. Mom and I went here for some steak, and Anthony's did the steak wonderfully (if a bit over-priced .. open up a Jak's Grill and you'll never see me back at Anthony's again). The prawns I got left something seriously to be desired. Maybe the chef confused the order and thought it was "Steak with the smallest shrimp you can find". It was a very sad pile of "prawns' I got. Tasted great, though. The server was wonderful. I actually ordered some oysters on the half shell. Mom tried an oyster for the first time and made the face and immediately downed half her wine glass. LOL. I then tasted the oysters - they really weren't that great. I mentioned it to the server. I really do like kumamoto (spelling?) oysters! Some of the ones were my favorite kinds.. but for some reason they just weren't very tasty. Anyway, the server ended up taking the oysters off our bill. Unnecessary, but very awesome of him. They had a huge fish menu, too. I'd definitely come back here for the fish. :)

Whilte re-visiting my old haunt, Olympia, WA, we met some wonderful friends at Anthony's...a beautiful setting on Percival Landing, across from the Farmer's Market of national fame. We were the first to arrive because we wanted to check out the surroundings (since it had been many years since I had been there); we ordered Gordon Bros.Chardonnay...a nice white with a slightly oakie finish. When our friends arrived, one ordered the Latah Creek Pinot Gris and liked it very much. These were both great Washington wines! We later ordered Salmon Cakes (dee-liscious!), Coconut Prawns, Shrimp Fettucine with mushrooms, zuchini and parmesan cheese, AND the BEST Clam Chowder I have had in a very long time! Our waitress, Jessica was one of the most upbeat, happy servers we have ever met and she made our lunch date one to remember for a long long time. Though Anthony's is a chain of many great restaurants, we have found that each location has it's own personality and this was one of the very best!! Thank you!!

The appetizers were good. Wine selection for by the glass is minimal and mostly local. I liked the ambience. Especially if you facing the docks. The coconut shrimp was cooked right and tasted really good. For our visit this was pretty much all that was acceptable. The service was slow given there were barely 4 tables. We had to wait for a while just to get a glass of water. The main course was close to the worst fish ever. I love fish, in salads, in sandwiches, in sushi, in curries. This, neither I nor my girlfriend could eat. Who do we blame? She made her yuck face and went, I can't believe halibut could taste like this. I see potential in this place but given the three figure bill I'm not sure its worth another shot. May be we got a sour lemon. But for $30 an entree there is no room for those, IMO.

  • Leslie M.

Fish was mushy and just luke warm. Coffee cup had a lipstick stain (yuck). The waiter didn't apologize, no manager came to apologize either. To me, this is a huge "no, no" within the food service industry. With no response from anyone at the restaurant, I wouldn't recommend it nor am I going to be a returning customer.

Food was good, prepared well, and reasonably priced ($19.95 sunday special for sirloin and dungeness crab). Outdoor seating was also nice. However, service was terrible. Waiter was curt, frowning, and seemed put out by any requests. Couldn't answer simple questions about the menu. Everything was extremely slow... dinner took 2 1/2 hours simply due to waiting around. Were not offered bread, had to ask for it after seeing it on other tables. Crab was brought without crab utensils and waiter ran off before I could say anything. Waited for him to return, which he didn't, so we had to get up from the table to track down our own eating utensils. Iced tea brought without sweeteners, had to ask for it twice and waited 10-15 minutes to sweeten my tea. When the check finally arrived, it was incorrect and we were charged for 3 meals instead of 2. Waited some more while it was corrected. The tables around us were experiencing the same thing. For a restaurant that boasts itself as "fine dining," Anthony's needs to realize that service is important too.

This was a great meal for a great price. Wonderful view, Beautiful restaraunt and ambiance. I went with the seafood mac & cheese. It was wonderful. The only thing I would say, is add a bit more crab to that baby! Also, we had to ask for bread which I kind of think at a restaraunt like this they would just give you. But we asked, they immediately obliged and I dont' think they charged us. They made adjustments for some people we were dining with without issue. The waiter was kind and attentive. Definitely a pleasant experience. OH and I also tasted hubby's clam chowder.........it was quite good!

The perfect chowder lives here. If you order the salad instead, I look down on you. ;P Every time I have gone to Anthony's, I have received superior, fast service, exceptional food, a beautiful view, and solid drinks. The drink pricing is a little off, but the experience is worth it. Try their swordfish, ahi nachos, chowder, seafood pasta medley, and...just about anything! You will be glad you did.

I've been here several times over the past two years and they never seem to disappoint! Except for once, when I got the lobster tail. The lobster wasn't that great - it was hard to cut and very chewy...other than that, the prawns tempura is my favorite dish here. They are a hearty portion with delicious asian slaw...Happy Hour is awesome as well, and my husband loves the fact that they have the Balvenie Single Malt Scotch 25 years aged at the bar. The servers are always friendly and talkative, very knowledgeable. Every time I got the raw oysters on the half-shell they have been very fresh and tasty. It is very expensive though...so don't come here if you are looking for a cheap meal.

My parents, my kids and I had a great dinner at Anthony's. We were seated 20 minutes late, which was frustrating, but we had a good table, they comped us an appetizer, and the manager came over to apologize, so I felt that they made it right. The app (crab & artichoke dip) was delicious. Dinner was great. Waiter was knowledgeable and asked if we wanted the kids' meals brought out first--I didn't, but appreciate that level of attentiveness. Overall a very nice meal on a busy night during the holidays.

Hunka Hunka Hunka Hunka good food, service and atmosphere. This was not my first trip to Anthony's and will not be m last. I was in a party of 30 in the "exclusive" back sunset room, quite but open. The cost was a bit high but it was also picked up by our host so I shall not dwell much on the $ anymore. Had the walnut chicken which was perfect, didn't hear one complaint from our large party. The Three Leg wine was being emphasized but well worth a taste, maybe even a bottle. My dessert was the Apple Crips with a giant scoop of vanilla on top. Easily could have been shared but, hey, it was free so I ate the whole thing. Parking was great, cleanliness was superb. Again, 4 of 5 Hunka's from this Elvis reviewer.

I love this place! Great food and friendly staff. I took my wife to Anthony's for our anniversary and they were, again, top notch! I ordered the mussels and the crab cakes for dinner. Outstanding again...only thing, in the summer, the mussel appetizer was a larger and the crab cakes main dinner a little bigger.. Both foods were delicious as always. Regardless, a great night with the wife, good food, and outstanding service, the service was above outstanding, merits a four star rating. If the portions were as they was when we visited in the summer, when I fell really in love with this establishment, than my ranking would be five out of five.

I know it's a chain and the menu is uninspired in that sense, but for what Oly is working with in terms of a nice night out, this is a decent place. They've got a ton of fresh fish selections and you're sure to find something you can eat. I definitely wouldn't make this my go to for a nice dinner, I'm sure there are nice options in Oly, though it may be limited.

  • Nick B.

As a note at the top, prices here are toward the top of the "moderate" ($$) range and much closer to the "spendy" range. Cheapest entree on the menu is $17, others go above $30. Don't be startled when you get the menu. I've been to Anthony's in Spokane several times and liked it a lot so decided to try it on a visit to Olympia. The result was a 2-star (close to 3 but I'm rounding down). I'll split it into atmosphere, service, and food. Atmosphere: four star. Nice view of the marina from many window seats, and those not by the window can see the open kitchen layout which is pretty cool. Food: 2.5 star. The seafood was competently prepared, as one would expect. A little heavy on the garlic for clams/mussels but that's a matter of taste. I was seriously disappointed with the creme brulee though. As any burnt cream fanatic can attest, the best part of that dessert is breaking through the crunchy top into the cool-to-slightly-warm soft texture below. Instead, the creme brulee we got was cold all the way through, and the sugar topping was sticky. It had obviously been burnt some time before being brought to the table and had been refrigerated in between. A disappointing ending to an otherwise good meal - and it should've been better, for the price. Service: two star. I feel conflicted here because I liked our waitress, and she was knowledgeable and helpful in suggesting other things to do in town. But: there were no water refills, a dish was taken away before it was finished and another was offered to be removed while it was still obviously being eaten, and an appetizer that I ordered never arrived. The last may have been a blessing in disguise because portions were large enough I never missed the extra food, but still mildly annoying. Summary: you pay a high price for the atmosphere. Food is decent but expensive, service spotty (on my one visit). Anthony's in Spokane built up my expectations, which is why the one in Olympia makes me say "Meh. I've experienced better."

This is one of the nicest restaurants in Olympia, and enjoys that reputation with good reason. The gorgeous location overlooking the marina and Capitol dome in the background is especially breathtaking at sunset. Our service on three different occasions was excellent. The food was wonderful! I had the sampler of raw oysters on the half shell, and each of the four varieties were fresh and well-shucked. The crab, shrimp, and artichoke dip was delightfully rich and full of seafood, and the crab cakes were ALL fresh Dungeness. The coconut shrimp were perfection and avoided coconut overload, and the sirloin was as tender as a filet mignon and cooked to perfection. Why only four stars? For the amount you'll pay for dinner (expect at least $100 for two with drinks), everything should be perfection. Two out of three visits in the past several months we've experienced snafus with dinner s-- once, steaks that had to be re-done twice after coming out fully cooked through when ordered "rare" and "med-rare;" and once we were told 15 minutes after ordering that our entree choice was not available and we needed to choose again). Things were made right both times, and once our bill was adjusted for the inconvenience. We will certainly keep coming for special occasions, and I hope they work all the kinks out.

My niece and her husband were in town visiting from New York and my sister planned a family dinner at Anthony's. It was my first time and the view and dining area are amazing. We sat by the window and got a view of the water and the surrounding area. Staff were very nice and accommodating and service was very good. Prices were reasonable and the food didn't take too long. I ordered the shrimp fettuccine and it was delicious. At that time it had been a while since I had pasta and cream sauce and that dish sounded great. Everything about the dish was decadent. The pasta was cooked just right, the cream sauce was tasty, I loved the grated parmesan cheese melting on top, and they did not skimp on the shrimp. Each bite had bite-sized shrimp and veggies. This meal was a gut buster for me (I usually don't eat pasta and cream sauce - I eat more of a paleo/primal diet) but it was delicious. No regrets. That was probably TMI (too much information), but it was my experience. It has nothing to do with the food - it was great! Plenty of seating, can accommodate for larger groups, great view, and fresh food. Don't be shy about asking for water if you don't get water or a water glass, and a refill of your beverage if it runs low. Our table didn't get asked for refills unless we asked, but we were talking a lot and nursed our drinks.

Ok, so my wife is in town for a conference at the capitol, we are hungry as hell, and want some food that we know will be great, with great service. Well this was not the place, not even close to a mediocre experience. Lets start. Double Bloody Mary's are more water, and a dash of tomato juice than anything else, took 25 minutes to get them. Tasted like garbage. Waitress was uneducated in wines, took her advise based on a little cue card she had, said it was crisp, fruity, etc. For 65 a bottle I was disappointed, tasted like my grandmothers flowery perfume. Took a half hour to get the next bottle after the horrible taste test. Apptizers came as we wanted a variety. Oysters were very small, and watery for deep fried, and bland. The sashimi plate was awesome, and was the only thing that went right. Ordered a half of a Garlic Dungeness Crap, I mean crab, no flavor for all the sticky butter, oil, and garlic. We tried some ginger beef tenderloin bits or something, and this is where I really became disappointed in the manager and the chef. I had about two bites of this and on the second bite, guess what, deep fried hair. Pulled it out of my mouth, and put on plate, you could actually see that it was deep fried with the yoshida's on it. Sad, not the only hair, as the manager came up to the table I knew this was going to be disappointing, she dressed like a scrub from a hole in the wall diner. She came to the table, said oh maybe its a piece of the ginger. I took the hair and pulled on it and it was not a fiber from the ginger. It was clearly a hair. I then looked at the appetizer plate and pulled out another hair. Yummy. The manager says oh, I will take that away, and we wont charge you for it. I was thinking wtf. You serv me an effin hair, make an hour long meal and drinks drag out to 2 hours plus, and your not going to charge me for the 2 bites I took from the appetizer with hair? So paid my $150 bill, and wont ever come back. Anthony's you served me your last meal, and the same for many of our friends. Your best bet would have been to take $25 off the bill or something, and I do mean something, but you chose to do nothing. GOODBYE

Much better than expected per reviews. Halibut was delicately flavored and perfectly cooked. Cioppino was amazing served with toasted bread. Ended up here accidentally but would recommend...ate at closing on a weeknight.

Dinner entrees lean on the expensive side, but if you happen to visit the restaurant during happy hour (4pm-6:30pm daily), you can get a smattering of appetizer-sized snacks for a very reasonable $3 to $5. Three or four food items off the happy hour menu can easily make a sizable meal for two people, and I find the happy-hour beer and wine selection to be extensive for $3/beer and $5/wine. Sit in the lounge and you can get all this and a view of the water. Also, they offer Olympic Mountain ice cream for dessert, presumably on a single rotating-flavor basis.

I love Anthony's! I've been going here for years and never get tired of the great food and beautiful view! The bread there is some of the best bread ever and their desserts are delicious! I also love their fish and chips! Definitely recommend this place!

My wife is from Olympia and this place was where you would bring a date. Today we had brunch. The two salads on the menu (chicken almond and a bacon chop thing) did not seem in theme with the Seafood reputation of this place...so I asked the waiter to make a salad; he did; Caesar and fried Oysters..he gets a thumbs up for service on this. My wife ordered the breaded Trout huge portion and fresh greens and adequate flavor; but fried and fish is easy to do eh? We sat outside..odd thing really the boats are nice but single Port of Olympia container crane less than 150 yards away makes you feel like you are on the set of Empires Strikes Back for the snow walker scene...and a path way a few feet away from the tables is a bit intrusive. The wine list bad..nothing red from California and the lady I asked for suggestions was blowing some hot air about "underlying berries flavors" and the like; better off if she would have said we don't carry anything really outside of Washington..I get it. Here is a picture from our meal.. . pinterest.com/pin/258394…

We were seated at a table with broken shade there were many tables empty? We were very uncomfortable. no one asked if we would like to move. Had the Sunday seafood special, crab cooked to death, mussels ok, clans ok, everything else ok . Waitress was good. Bathrooms dirty. Probably won't go back this Anthony's has gone down hill.

I'm not from Olympia but whenever I visit my parents, we go to Anthony's for special celebrations (Mother's Day, Father's Day, etc.). I've had OK dining experiences here. Nothing spectacular, but nothing horrible either. If you stick with the fish entrees, you'll be fine. My mother ordered the steak and was disappointed. Last time I dined here I ordered the grilled halibut with baked potato and grilled veggies. Again, nothing spectacular, but OK. The blackberry cobbler was the highlight of the dinner! Served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

We enjoyed a very pleasant lunch here. Window table with views over the water. We both had the outstanding chowder, mine with a nice crisp Ceasar salad and my husband's with a rockfish taco. All very good and in a pleasing atmosphere. Good waitress too. Attentive without being pushy.

Wednesday has a lobster promotion, so the place was packed. Service at the bar required flagging the bartender for everything. Once we requested a seat, we were seated almost immediately. Service staff after seating was prompt and efficient. I had swordfish which was a little dry and lacking in flavor, an my friends had the steak and half lobster tail and crab fettucinne respectively. Steak was well made, medium rare, low in fat. Lobster tail was tiny. Crab pasta was cold, but after requesting it to be warmed, it was promptly made right. Bartenders were familiar with the beers they had, and service staff kept our glasses full.

Anthony's has always been good for lunch and dinner. We try to make it to the early bird dinner just because it's less crowded. We have never had a bad dinner, but some were mediocre. Their bread is way too hard for my taste, almost tear your teeth out trying to get a hunk off. Very nice view of the harbor and bay.

  • Lilly T.

I've come here on more than one occasion and each time was a good dining experience. They have really thick and rich clam chowder here that tastes fresh! The Anthony's cobb salad is really tasty too - it has bacon, bleu cheese, fresh fruit like mango, avocado, greens, and shrimp with a vinaigrette dressing..soo yummy. I do not recommend the seafood fettuccine though. Anthony's is more on the pricey side though, but it's well-worth it! You can really taste how fresh everything is. Good flavors! Service was quick and friendly. Environment was lovely with ambiance lighting and lit candles. Nice view and plenty of parking.

I had the best lobster linguine here! They had a lot of things that I was interested in trying, but I couldn't resist the lobster linguine. I devoured every last bit of it! Very enjoyable meal. We were seated at a great table near the window and enjoyed people watching and the eventual sunset. The server did accidentally bring us the wrong bottle of wine, but quickly noticed before opening it and returned with the correct one. If I could change one thing here, I'd request the bread be delivered to the table warm.

I had the all you can eat crab dinner on Sunday. It was amazing. Fresh, good quality crab. They try to fill you up on soup and bread before hand so beware. Great service too. The Huckleberry lemonade tasted more of lemons than Huckleberries which was disappointing.

I'd much rather go to any of the other Anthony's in the Puget Sound. Our food was good, but our server was snotty and slowwwwwwww. We came in with a group, but the restaurant is right near several hotels, so handling multiple people shouldn't be terribly unusual. Overall, meh.
