Well based on past reviews I went in with a low expectations, I was pleasantly surprised at the food and fantastic service I got today. I was greeted within 30 seconds of entering the restaurant and seated directly after that. Shauntea was our server and she was attentive and took my order for over easy eggs without a problem. (They have eggs, toast and pancakes to order on the buffet). The buffet had ample portions of basic breakfast fare such as biscuits, gravy, French toast, sausage, etc. My husband like the corned beef hash. He says this is half the price of a Cracker Barrel and twice as good.

Had both dinner and breakfast here; the food all tasted pretty mediocre to me. I don't know if it was the pancakes or the syrup at fault, but breakfast left a really weird aftertaste. Our waitress looked unhappy.

Perfect spot for a great burger on a Sunday. Good service. It was pretty busy but the service was still attentive and friendly. Good fries too.

JB's has been in business for years and knows what it wants to do; however, the menu is something it is not doing very well. It's a family place that tries to be a lot to many people, and the people are very friendly and efficient, but the menu is all over the place. The breakfast buffet is eclectic and uneven as though JB's expects visitors from Milan or Istanbul or Paris or NY City to visit with expectations of something they'd find at home. If you go for breakfast skip the buffet and order simple--"two eggs over and ham or bacon (crisp), toast". Don't expect a miracle of cuisine from food that's been poorly prepared by well meaning people and then left to "refry" on the warming table. JB's would do well to keep it simple with that delightful Utah home cooking...mmm-mm-m...and people will adjust. Consider this--would a visitor from Milan appreciate "Utah home cooked ham and eggs, country potatoes with or without country gravy and toast served with home made raspberry jam" or JB's version of "pasta" or perhaps a mystic pizza?

Went here in search of a salad bar (rare in Vernal) and found one but it was very disappointing. Italian dressing was plain. Soup tasted very much from a mix. Honeydew was ok. Crab meat salad ok. In general, it felt very uninspired, waited 10 min. for a server to even show up.

Had to come here for breakfast as part of the deal with the motel next door. Stood around waiting for the gossiping staff to notice us, food was less than average and the tables weren't cleared.

Wife and I stopped in for a late night dinner... Since neither of us ordered an entree, this probably isn't the most comprehensive review that I've written. We both opted for the salad bar, which was good for what it is. Ya know the one: iceberg lettuce with a good selection of veggies. Soup was good. Taco bar was nice - did a taco and some nacho action. Also, I opted to add a half sandwich for .99 - totally unnecessary, though. Between the taco, soup and parmesan bread, I would of been satisfied. Server was super sweet and attentive. All in all: one of better your Vernal options.
