I'm not sure why after so many bad experiences with this Chilis location did I ever decide to give it another chance. We went there for my son's birthday and after standing at the front door for 15 minutes, wondering if there was a hostess or if any of the servers were ever going to acknowledge the large line forming at the door a man finally came over and took the first group back, then about 5 more minutes passed with him just wandering the restaurant before he came and led the next people back. By this time there was a large line forming, but we were the next ones up so I thought it would be ok, so when he came back a couple minutes later and asked us how many were in our party I told him 5 and he then proceeded to tell me it would be 25-40 minutes. It was 8:30p.m. and at this point and we decided to take our business elsewhere.

I hadn't been to Chili's in quite awhile, as I got tired of the drab sides that came with my delicious Ribeye steak smothered in yummy garlic butter. Anyway it's been a few years and a different state. Last night, my family and I came to this Chili's since I just refused to cook (just kidding ). I'm happy we did, as we were PLEASANTLY surprised to see that the sides have changed. We all ordered the Ribeye of course cause that is just what we do. We ended up getting sides of grilled asparagus and tomatoes, skillet mashed potatoes (so much better than the previous mashed potatoes!) baked cinnamon apples and jalapeño corn bread. The food was phenomenal! The ONLY problem we had was that my husband found a hair in his food, it happens, not a major deal breaker. By the time he found a second one, he just gave up on that steak. We spoke with our waitress Amanda who said she would take care of it, we just asked to have the new steak in a to-go box but we fully intend to pay. Marie the manager also came over and talked to us. She also said they would take care of it. Totally not necessary, we understand things happen and definitely do not expect free food. Both Marie and Amanda are great. Amanda totally exemplifies what a good waitress is, prompt, courteous, playful yet professional and definitely proactive. We will for sure be back to this Chili's in the near future.

Child's used to be one of our favorite places. Now it's a default setting when we're looking for a place for a late dinner. Our server was very attentive. That covers the highlights. Their chips are gritty with salt. Their Diet Coke was flat. No carbonation at all. Seriously folks! Even McDonalds knows how to mix Diet Coke correctly. My wife had a burger. Either that cow died from OD'ing on the salt lick, or the cooks at Chilis are dumping salt on those burgers. I had the fajitas. The shrimp was excellent, but the beef was so chewy that I couldn't bite through it in the tortilla. They give you a tiny little cup with 15 cheese shavings. USE THEM WISELY! Time to find a new late night dining option.

"Bowel shaking earthquakes of doubt and remorse assail him, impale him with muscle truck force." They might as well have been singing about this place. My fellow dining buddy and I had a craving for americanized mexican food and we decided to go upscale. So instead of going to taco time, we came here. Bad mistake. We both got crazy food poisoning. After discussing it, we determined that the only common item that we ate was the salsa. What you do to salsa that turns it into a piqcante laxative is beyond me, but they found a way. Food poisoning is no laughing matter. Especially because you might loose bowel control if you laugh too hard. I'll spare you the juicy details, but it wasn't fun.

Chili's has really stepped it up with the table-side guacamole! It is a chance to talk to the server a little more, and the guacamole is great!

Things have gone down hill at the Layton location. Cleanliness and consistent food quality have diminished recently. We once went in here every week or two, now we are patronizing every month or two and if it continues like it has for the last couple visits we may not return. Things are run down, cleaning is not a priority, service is sketchy and the food quality is hit or miss, hopefully they get it worked out.

Been here many times so it was sort of odd to walk in and find no one is watching the door. Stood there for four minutes, there wasn't even any one at the bar. But before we walked out one of the waitresses spotted us. Jill quickly sat us and did everything she could to please us. The quality of their meals are up to their usual standards. The Salmon is very good, cooked well. Mixing the guacamole at the table is pretty cool. Love the chips. The thing I have reservations about is this wireless system they have at all the tables. Every time I have been here since they went to this thing I have had nothing but problems with it. This one wasn't even linked in so couldn't even use it at first. Then when I paid and did the survey, as soon as it asked if I had a comment and I said yes, it shut down so I couldn't make one.

We have always loved the food at Chili's, but we walked ourselves out of this disaster! Terrible, blatantly rude service, even after we waited to be seated and were placed in the bar. We could have walked straight in and sat at the bar with NO wait! The server was anything but helpful! Never ever again!

My friend and I ordered the chicken/carnitas fajitas, with chips and guacamole on the 2 for $20 menu to go. The chicken fajitas were ok which came with some sour cream, cheese, salsa, onions, and all that other jazz to add to them. The chips are really really good! As well as the salsa they come with! The guacamole on the other hand is quite disgusting (tossed it in the trash were it belonged) and the sour cream was really really runny which I didn't want to eat because it was most likely sitting in the warm or old. Other then that we called the order in and it was ready for pick up 20 minutes later.

We went to this Chili's late one evening thinking it would not be to busy and the service might be okay. Well the service was not good and neither was the food. Our drinks were never refilled, I had to get up to get our utensils and when I got to the back of the restaurant I peeked my head in the kitchen and 5 servers were just standing around laughing and chatting. Someone in a dress shirt and tie (I think a manager) was even in on their convo. Meanwhile we could see other customers getting impatient for not being helped. Our food was cold and when we mentioned how dissatisfied we were (citing the aforementioned annoyance), the waitress just complained about how busy they were. We left exact change on the table for our meal and walked out. We will not be going back.

Decent spot. Not my fav of the local chains, but overall not too bad. Menu seems to change a lot. For some that might be an issue. Not yet for me as they still have my favorite item on the menu. If you are a margarita connoisseur they have a variety of options. Beer selection is simple and boring (I enjoy beer options, NOT just your typical domestics). they do have a decent deal if you're with another 2 for $20 deal which is always nice. Otherwise prices can be a bit steep.

Man, I used to be a HUGE fan of Chilis. Like when I was 18. I went there more times than I could count. I usually got the Chicken Ceasar pita wrap. It was yummy. Once upon a time I liked their chips. We went back tonight. It's been a year or so since the last trip. I like their skillet queso. I just cannot reproduce the taste of it and I like it. But the chips.... Greasy Salty cardboard. Super thin crunchy cardboard. I asked my husband if they had gotten worse over the years and he said they tasted exactly same as they always had. Hmmm. Evidently my tastebuds have grown up. They do have REALLY good ribs. The Shiner Bock is yummy. Smoky, slightly sweet, but with a good kick. Nice and tender, fall off the bone. I tried a new dish on the menu this trip. Chicken Club quesadillas. They were actually pretty good. They had chicken, bacon, guac, sour cream, pico, lettuce and ranch dressing. Like a club sandwich quesadilla style. And of course lets not forget the molten chocolate cake. That monster volcano of chocolate and ice cream. It is still probably my favorite molten cake, though Olive Garden and Applebees aren't bad either. But... It still just doesn't have the appeal it once did. The chips suck. I see that now. Some of the other dishes (Club tacos) suck. Even the queso and molten cake won't get me back in here maybe more than once every other year or so. The life has fizzled out of the party.

Average for a chain. My wife and I only go here because she loves to get chips and salsa
