TERRIBLE SERVICE. Took forever to get our drinks and order our food. My dad ordered a small Caesar, my brother a large Caesar. They were the same size, only on different plates and were about 9 whole pieces of romaine. My dad's was $3, my brother's $8. I asked the waitress if that was a small and a large salad and she said yes. I asked what the difference was besides the plate size. She shrugged. My husband's food didn't come out when ours did. I asked for a plate to go with my pizza so I could share with my (starving) brother. They brought a tiny bread plate. We were about halfway through our dinner and still no food for my hubby and no explanation why. We asked another waitress since ours was standing by the food window steadfastly avoiding eye contact with our table. She said it was coming. We finally nabbed our waitress and asked about the missing food and she protested, "It's not my fault!" No apology. Nothing. We asked to speak to the manager and were told he wasn't there. He wouldn't be there until 9pm - when they close. Everyone just shrugged. My husband's food finally came out as we were finishing ours. He ate a few bites and we were ready to go. He asked for a box and she finally brought our check. I looked at the bottom and SHE ADDED GRATUITY! There were 5 of us - no excuse for adding gratuity. Our bill totaled $125 - that's with 1 glass of wine, 1 beer, and 1 gin & tonic. They didn't offer to comp or discount my husband's late meal. (They did, however, discount it $8 but didn't tell us so we didn't know.) This place is far too expensive for that kind of crappy experience. The food was actually pretty good, but it was overshadowed by the horrible experience. I left angry so I struggled about giving them a second star. We won't be back.

Really cute, vintage cafe. Though, here is some water damage on the ceiling tiles that really need to be addressed. The tables and chairs are nice though. The wine selection is great! We got the Moscat D'Asti & Pinot Grigio. We also ordered the spinach artichoke dip - it was pretty good, but they don't serve enough bread with it and wanted to charge us for more. Also if you want oil, herbs, & breadsticks like at any other Italian restaurant, it's $2 extra. Kinda disappointed there. Also ordered the Pasta Trio. It was very good & filling! Would have cut up the artichoke hearts before serving, but the flavor was very good. Went over to the confectionary area for dessert. Got the gelato in peanut butter & chocolate brownie caramel flavor. Delish! Would definitely go back!

I didn't care for the cups they serve it in made it hard and messy to eat it. They make their Gelato in house and it's very tasty. I had the cappuccino gelato very tasty and hit the spot on a hot day.

How cute is this place! Okay, I only visited the dessert side of the place, so I can't comment on the food.. but the dessert was great! I could not decide what to get! This is definitely NOT a place to visit if you are dieting, because you'll probably end up ordering the amount of food it would take to serve an entire village. I may or may not be guilty of doing that. ;-) My daughter had a canoli, my husband had the banana pudding gelato and I had the mint chocolate chip gelato. Mine was so creamy and delicious! Next time I visit, I'm getting a cake from the display case, everything looked very tasty. The woman at the counter was friendly and patient. The only downside about the place is that they don't have a lot of seating available because most of the tables are reserved for the restaurant. Overall, I'd visit again! The place is too delish not to! The location is also great, right in the heart of downtown Grapevine.

If u are looking for ambience or anything more than a diner experience, keep walking. The service-1 star. The ambience 1 star. The food, 1-star. The lighting. .. bingo hall. The table flatware - high school cafeteria. The music, regular radio w commercials. Will we come back? Never. We may never walk into Grapevine again! The only decent place w decent food is Farina!

Aww, my favorite waitress is gone..she was always professional and friendly, I was sad to hear she left. Food is still pretty good, but I don't care as much for the whole new atmosphere. We've been coming since I was a kid, and it doesn't feel like the family run, great food and fun place it once was. Sadly, we may have to find a new spot. Servers seem unorganized without Lori there, ..it's pretty inside to look at, but the warmth is gone.

I rarely write a review but I feel compelled at this point. I always saw Napoli's and even tried out the gelato section next door which is the only reason they even got two stars. The gelato was just perfect and the young man behind the counter was excited to help us find our perfect flavor. As far as the restaurant goes, an absolute disappointment. The service was better than previous remarks on yelp but I've rarely been to a restaurant that could make such a bland Alfredo and pesto dish. The chicken was not flavored but cooked and lobbed in large chunks into the dish only to further remove you from any of the possible enjoyment of the sauce. I don't plan on coming back unless it's for the gelato.

Always liked the food, pretty sure I won't be going back. Waited to be seated for 5 minutes and finally sat down in a dirty booth. Waited 10 minutes without even a hello from any of the short staff in the joint. Watched a group of 10 people wait at the door to be seated - they left finally. We finally left and another customer told us 3 large groups left before us. Even with a short staff, ignoring customers and potential customers is not good. Not even acknowledging them? Basic stuff here.

Went for lunch. Service was so-so, food was pretty good, atmosphere fine. I thought the price for gelato was high, but I'm no expert!

My fiance and I went to Napoli's for the very first time this evening, and I am SO glad that we did! I spent a few days looking up local italian restaurants to take him to for his birthday, and picked Napoli's on a whim after reading a few good reviews here on Yelp. This place is a hidden gem, tucked between other small businesses on Main Street here in Grapevine. The restaurant is small, but in a cozy way. It's got a nice ambience without being too stuffy or fussy. My fiance ordered the shrimp fettuccine alfredo and I had the chicken carbonara. Both of them were absolutely FANTASTIC, and the portions were HUGE. Prices were very reasonable for the quality of the food and the sizes of the portions. The chicken in my carbonara was cooked perfectly, not dry or tough like chicken at a lot of places. The shrimp in the fettuccine was also perfectly cooked. Even the croutons in our side salads were delicious! We followed up our meal with gelato (he had the strawberry and I had the maple walnut.) The small size was honestly more than enough. My maple walnut gelato was not only delicious, but had crushed walnuts folded into it, which was just perfect. The strawberry gelato tasted like fresh strawberries, not like the fake stuff. Our server, Erica, was attentive, but not overbearing. She checked on us just enough and never let our drinks get empty. All in all, we had a wonderful experience at Napoli's, and our first visit here most certainly will NOT be our last!

Great location, nice atmosphere, friendly staff, but very average food. Boring bruschetta, salads are a waste of time. Chicken parm was OK, nothing great at all, though I ordered a different dish and the order came out wrong. Sauce was plain and it looked like the shredded cheese was over nuked. Server offered to redo it but I didn't want to make others wait. Wife had lobster ravioli which was actually pretty good. All in all I think they should look into the food quality here. A little more care and I think this place would do wonders but right now I think I'd probably go to the olive garden over this place.

Food was good. Nice large portions. Salads are unremarkable though. I would avoid. Weird thing is my dad's wine glass had a crack in it. They replaced and gave us a new bottle. Service was strange. We had kids with us and they refused to seat us in the main dining room and made a big fuss about how kids aren't allowed in there. That was really random since the place isn't that fancy and it was 5 pm. The pizza was unremarkable which was a bummer. Gelato was tasty. Service really could have been better. They clearly need more staff.

I had a horrible experience here today. I DO NOT recommend this restaurant to anyone with any special dietary needs or allergies. I am severely lactose intolerant due to a chronic gastric illness. Apparently asking for the the pizza without cheese on half is too much to ask. The waitress made it clear that something so drastic couldn't be done and was extremely rude in doing so. As if seeing how flustered I got by her retort wasn't enough, when I asked if the breadsticks had cheese she replied condescendingly again implying that my food allergy was a burden and an annoyance to her. I have never had such an unpleasant experience with a food allergy and waitstaff, nor have I ended up in tears at the table due to being chastised by a waitress. I am absolutely appalled by the waitress attitude and will NOT be returning here again.

Terrible bland food. Rude inattentive server who texted rather than attended to us. Nothing at all to get excited about. Worse than a fast food pasta place. Skip it. Its pitiful.

Poor, poor service. We stood at the door in the cold for a good 15 minutes and not one of the four staff members even looked at us even though they were 5 feet away. Waiters are unattentive (our request for an additional wine and side dishes were ignored, no refills, and our check didn't come so we were stuck trying to flag down a waiter for a very long time after we finished). The food was of mediocre quality, but it was still tasty. Had the service not been so bad, I'd have probably gone back.

I arrived on a Sunday afternoon and waited to be greeted and get seated for 5 minutes before the kids I had with me were growing impatient and started to sit on the bar stools. Anyhow... It looked like they only had one waitress and she had to call for backup from the gelato cafe side. The girl that waited on was nice and did pretty well to be filling in a role she normally doesn't do. Food wise I ordered the chicken trio which was penne pasta, spinach, artichokes, and tomatoes in a cream Alfredo sauce. The sauce was pretty bland and didn't really much flavor to it. We also ordered a side of breadsticks and it was basically like the frozen pre made breadsticks you would buy at the grocery store. It didn't have any taste to it either. It had what looked like shredded Parmesan cheese though still no flavor. The bottom was also soggy. I couldn't figure out if the plate was wet went it was placed on it or it was from steam from coming from re-toasting it? My husband got the beef lasagna which was daily decent but the portion was smaller than we expected. I was assuming that it was small because we got it during lunch, which came with either a side salad or tomato basil soup.

Having eaten at this establishment several times I was excited to see the new upgrades to the main eating area (new bar built, paint, furniture) as well as an addition of another eating area on the confection side of the cafe. Excellent architectural flair, great menu items with increased wine selections. Very nice! I would recommend this establishment if you are looking for a great breakfast or lunch meal, and either a simple casual supper or a very nice dinner.

UPDATE JUYL 2015 We've visited Napoli's four times over the last 3 months and the experience continues to be uneven. I've reduced the stars to 2 because the recent visit showed Napoli's still has a way to go. At best, their performance can be described as unreliable. On a recent Thursday night visit, the restaurant was almost completely empty. There could have been any number of reasons for that, but it's still not a good sign for the new owners. (On previous mid-week visits, the restaurant was usually pretty busy.) There seem to be 3 general categories where Napoli's is facing challenges: FOOD & MENU The biggest change has been to Napoli's menu, which has changed at least twice since the takeover. At first, it was overly ambitious, something out of line with the restaurant's clientele. It has since moderated a bit, but the prices have remained very high. Entrees that used to be $10 to $12 are now $15 to $17. Entrees used to include a small dinner salad, but now it is an extra $3. So that previous $12 entrée (with salad) can be as high as $20 - that's a 66% price increase. Menu prices may be higher everywhere, but that's still as pretty big jump. Dinner for two (salad, entrée, and one glass of wine each) is now around $60 before tip. Add a desert or additional glasses of wine and the bill goes north of that. Food quality remains uneven. On this last visit, my wife's Baked Ziti was fine, but my Chicken Marsala (no salad) wasn't as good as it used to be. It comes with a side of vegetables or pasta - I chose the latter and got a small bowl of spaghetti with no sauce (no pesto, no marinara, no olive oil, nothing). The spaghetti tasted like it went straight from the box to the boiling water - not fresh made. I've had this same dish before and the pasta side was previously better, so this could have been an "off night". But at $17, it was not worth the new price. WAIT STAFF You may disagree, but my feeling on waiters is that they are there to be helpful and make your dining experience a good one. Anything they do to detract from that is a negative. It's not uncommon for a waiter to ask if you want a desert. But please, just ask once and if the answer is "no thanks" don't keep pushing it. On this last visit, we had to say "no thanks" at least 3 times in a row before the waiter stopped asking. Not cool. Some restaurants feature waiters as entertainment - opera singers, etc. Macaroni Grill (now gone from Grapevine) did this for birthdays, etc. Otherwise, wait staff should refrain from singing along with the background music. Napoli's has one wait staff who does this constantly and it gets a bit annoying. I'm glad she's happy, but she should keep her singing to the off-hours. ENVIRONMENT Our waiter told us the restaurant had hired a consultant (think reality TV, like "Bar Rescue") to help them - in his words - "class up the place". If that's the case, there's a LOT of problems still left unresolved. Stained ceiling tiles and dirty/broken wooden blinds seriously detract from an aspirational environment. The background music (singing wait staff aside) needs attention - I like Pink Floyd's "The Wall" as much as the next guy, but that is not dinner music. And the black "Fuggedaboutit!" T-shirts were cute when Napoli's was just a neighborhood restaurant. But that definitely does not fit in with an upscale experience - a simple black (or white) shirt and pants is a simple and elegant solution. The restaurant itself continues to undergo renovation. The walls have now been repainted and the booths/banquettes removed from most of the dining area. Why not just close for 5 days and do a marathon renovation effort all at once, instead of subjecting customers to a months-long series of renovations. Most of the changes appear to be finishes and furniture anyway, not major construction. And fix those darned stained ceiling tiles! BOTTOM LINE Napoli's has shown they still have a LONG way to go. Until the food is consistently good, until the renovations are completed, and until the wait staff is properly trained, the review stays at 2 stars.

This place used to be my favorite places to go and grab a white pizza. I was told the restaurant is under new management. I went in on a Saturday afternoon, and the menu has totally changed. This wouldn't be bad if the quality of food and service had stayed the same. Unfortunately I will be staying away from a place that used to be one of my favorite restaurants.

Went in today for lunch. The employees there seem nice. The server came to me quickly and took my drink order and brought my food out fast as well. So what is the issue? An odd smell from the tables, like the solution they use to clean them is dirty water. I had the cesar salad, pretty decent but nothing out of the ordinary. The lasagna however. was not good. It seemed like it had been there for days. Barely any cheese. More tomato sauce than anything which had a very bland flavor. The meat felt like rubber. The bread stick tasted like it was from Pizza Hut. I've been to other Napolis in Plano and Allen and was expecting something completely different. The price for that and a drink, $12 and that was the lunch special. The location is nice, in downtown Grapevine. I may give their dessert side a try in the future, but as for the restaurant, I doubt I will be back.

Great breakfast place on the weekend. Very good coffee in addition to the typical eggs, sausage, bacon, biscuits and gravy they offer breakfast pizzas.

Had the fried calamari and a large tomato basil pizza. Everything was disappointing. The calamari was over cooked with a rubbery texture, and once it cooled a bit it developed an oily and fishy taste. The flavor of the pizza was underwhelming. The crust was like bread dough rolled flat and lacked seasoning. The toppings were flat. The service was also lacking with about 15 minutes passing between being seated and our drink orders being taken. We were waited on by 2 different individuals who seemed confused on who our table belonged to. Overall the staff seemed very inexperienced, but polite.

Me and my family tried this place yesterday. We had been walking around Main Street and wanted some place local so we decided Napolies. When we walked in, the place looked cute. The waitress was training another girl. There were only two other people there. We placed our order and the food came out fairly quickly. However, we were less than satisfied. First, don't ever get their pizzas. $11 for a tiny Hawaiian pizza, that we asked to sub the Canadian bacon for chicken, which they charged us for. Most of the staff were just standing around since the place was not busy. Anyways, back to the pizza. The crust had no color, the cheese was cheap and it covered the pizza. The chicken had no flavor. Considering the prices, the quality of the food did not measure up. I won't be back here.

  • Kris G.

Wait staff was polite, but was somewhat lacking. The pasta my wife got was good, but the chicken was of low quality. My lasagna was pretty good. Both meals, though, were overpriced in my opinion. I was surprised that there were no breadsticks or bread as part of the meal. Overall, decent experience, but likely won't come back.

Saw this place from across the street as a alternative place to dine in for lunch since the Main Street Bread Bakery place was extremely busy. This Napolis was not busy and they sat us down right away. Ordered drinks and started talking with my friends. 10 minutes have past and there was no signs of our drinks. The place was not busy and I could not understand why it was taking so long. Finally they brought out drinks and we immediately ordered our food before the waiter disappears again. Food came out roughy 20-25 minutes later. Food was below average. I ordered the 10" pizza and the crust was soft and was not crunchy at all. The cheese and pepperoni was tasty but did not go well with a undercooked crust. My friend ordered the shrimp Alfredo and she said it tasted bland. My other friend had the zitis and it was not good at all. Finally the lasagne was awful. If you want good and real Italian food, then stay clear of this place or you will be very disappointed. I may come back and try the gelato so I can get a complete review of their dessert offerings. Overall the staff was friendly but thats the only positive thing I can say. Unfortunately, the service was horrible and it was not busy. No excuse for the wait time before someone took our drink orders and the time it took for the drinks to come out. It took too long for the food to come out and when it did it was more frustration because the food was below average. Again, I would not recommend this place for the Italian food but possibly their desserts may be their saving grace.

Just not that good. The lasagna was dry and looked more like a meat pie. My linguini with white clam sauce was soup, with no flavor. Worst bread sticks I ever had. The Christmas sangria, however was fantastic. Not worth the wait or the price. There are much better restaurants in downtown grapevine.

It was ok, not great.... had spaghetti and meatballs.. but was not seasoned very well. Meatballs were dry .... My boyfriend had the Fettuccine Shrimp Alfredo he liked it... service was kinda slow.

  • Tiffany K.

The food isn't bad, the service however is another story. We walked in (our party of 2 and our 2 babies) and there was only one other customer in the dining area, so they weren't even busy. We were promptly shown to a table and supplied with menus, that was fine. The hostess quickly scurried off to hang out at the register with other employees. We were not asked for our drink order or even told that we'd have someone to take our order shortly. I kid you not, we waited 20 MINUTES until someone even acknowledged us. The girl that sat us looked at our table several times, as did another server but we were not once even checked on by them. Finally, we get Carlie (our waitress) to tend to us and she was a fine server, but the other people representing that establishment should be ashamed as should the owner who employees them! They are causing you to lose service because they'd rather talk to each other and sing the songs of the background music in the restaurant. I probably won't be visiting them again.

Went during Christmas week; everywhere in Grapevine was on an at least 45 minute wait (if you could even get in). We settled on Napolis and started our wait. It was about 30 minutes, which was reasonable under the circumstances. Once seated, our waitress was really awesome. She took our entire order knowing we'd been waiting. She got drinks, salads and appetizers out quickly - super important as we had 3 kids in our group. She checked back frequently keeping us updated on about how much longer. I had the spaghetti and meatballs which was really good. Kids had a cheese pizza, also really good. The tomato soup was a little rich for me, but my cousin loved it. And the ice cream (gelato?) was amazing. We'll definitely go back (but not Christmas week).

My boyfriend and I go here when we are craving some good gelato or sweets! My personal favorite is the chocolate covered s'more! It's so good!! (I limit myself to one a month but crave it constantly) Everyone is always nice and friendly too.

Fabulous pizza, better wine (cabernet), fair prices. We ate here after looking at Christmas lights with our babies and parents. It was so cozy and comfortable. The Tuscan pizza was soooo good! And paired beautiful with the house cab. The antipasti salad wasn't what I expected but still very good. It was a green italian salad along side some cold cuts and cheese - very european. We got the brownie and hazelnut ice cream for dessert. Fabulous-o.

My best friend and I discovered Napoli's shortly after they opened, and we happily became regulars. The owner always recognized us and we had "usual" orders. We especially loved eating there after they opened the confectionary next door. (The gelato is amazing!) Due to a job/location change, I hadn't been to Napoli's in about a year when I had the opportunity to take my Mom there for her first time this past Saturday. We arrived at 2pm and, despite only 1 table being occupied, we were seated at the very last table next to the bathrooms. There was a half-wall next to the table, and boxes and trash were piled almost to the ceiling on the other side of the wall. The restaurant was EMPTY. Why would you put customers at the worst table in the entire place? There was a speaker on the wall next to us blaring John Mayer, which really clashed with the girl singing and playing a keyboard (badly) in the confectionary. We were given a paper menu with less than half the options Napoli's always had before. When our waitress came over I asked if they still had ravioli. She was confused at first but eventually said they no longer serve it. An Italian restaurant that doesn't serve something as simple as ravioli?? Between the cacophony of noise, the lack of menu options, and being seated with the garbage, we decided to leave and find another place to eat -- something I've never done before in my entire life. I told the waitress why we were leaving but she didn't bother to apologize or respond in any way. We ended up going to Armend's in Southlake where we were treated wonderfully. We were seated at a nice table, the restaurant was cool and peaceful, and the food was amazing and cheaper than Napoli's would have been. It's sad to see what Napoli's has become. I miss going in there and seeing Lisa and her staff smiling and happy to see their customers. I'm not sure what happened but it's clear that they aren't interested in keeping the welcoming environment or stellar service that was there before. I think I'll stick with Armend's from here on out.

Be warned that if you leave a bad review the owner sends you hateful message. BG will call you an idiot for your opinion of bad food and service. Wow, just wow. Contact Chamber of Commerce and ask for better standards. Such a sad use of prime real estate.

I walked in with my son excited for an after school treat. As I approached the counter I saw the employee (a highschool boy) rub his nose. As we had a few tastes, I saw him scratch his head twice and and scratch his face once. I couldn't help but notice that he was doing all this without realizing; he was helping customers and over the open ice cream barrels. After the last reach for his hair and head, I very politely leaned in to him and pointed out that he has scratched his head twice in the last minute. He gave me a rude look and continued to scoop. If he was polite, I would have forgotten about it, but he then told me with anger that he had washed his hair that morning and didn't see what the big deal was. He was mad at me. I saw what looked to be his father or managaer/owner and asked to speak with him. He came over and was clearly bugged not by his inappropriate employee, but by me! The owner/manager not once apologized or offered me a kind word. I was nice and professional with them both, but only felt disdain that I dare tell them of their inappropriate hygiene. Also, the gelato was goopy and not great. It would have been nice if the owner looking person would have been nicer. he was clearly upset and had zero customer service skills with us. I walked in with a smile and left with a frown and a goopy dessert.

Not too impressive. I do think having the confectionery next door is a clever idea, and their chocolate gelato was excellent. Apart from that, I found the food, service, and atmosphere all very pedestrian. It's a fun place to go with some friends or a significant other, but don't expect to impress anyone.

The food was pretty good. The service was slow. I would not recommend this restaurant because when my husband was served a drink in a cracked and we pointed it out, the manager poured it into a new glass and brought it back. Apparently drinking shards of glass is not an issue here.

We came here on a Monday night (3 days before Christmas). Although Grapevine is really busy we arrived at 5:30 and were seated. However, we could hear the hostess complaining about all the people who wanted to come in and eat and said "I can't say "poof and make tables appear, I know all these people have things to do but I can't say poof and make a table". My husband ordered spicy Chicken and it was awful. I ordered Lasagna and it tasted like a frozen meal. I only ate 5 bites, I couldn't force myself to eat anymore. We ordered the kids a pizza to eat and they said we couldn't order half cheese and pepperoni because it was too busy with the holiday season? So I begged for them to at least bring out the pepperonis so I could put them on myself. The waiter said he could do that, why they couldn't do that in the kitchen is ridiculous! This is the worst Italian food we've ever had! We are from out of town so I'm warning all visitors to not waste your money on this place and keep on looking for something else! Trust me!

Just going to get right to it. I got the oddest looking Spinach Artichoke Dip I have ever seen. It was cheese pizza slices and a bowl of soupy yet chunky dip. I took a couple bites of what looked disgusting but tasted ok. This concoction was 8 dollars....not worth it. My boyfriend had good ole spaghetti and meat balls that look like it was straight from a can. He did not finish it and that says a lot because my bf rarely ever leaves food on his plate. That was about 12 dollars and not worth it either. They have a little candy/ice cream shop connected to the restaurant and this place is the only reason they got the second star. The ice cream is made daily think marble slab but less variety. I tried a couple samples but was not impressed enough to buy any. The candy presentation was very neat and appealing. I bought an Oreo cookie cluster covered in milk chocolate that was very delicious. Even though the Oreo treat was delicious it was not enough to make me want to go back. Oh, forgot to mention the snarling waitress. I tipped only because I was afraid of what might happen if I didn't.

We've been to Napoli's several times and its always great. My wife thoroughly enjoyed the lobster ravioli and Caesar salad as I did my supreme pizza. Actually the pizza was outstanding. Crust was relatively thin and somewhat chewy with a nice consistency to it. Toppings were plentiful but not overwhelming. The lobster ravioli was flavorful and filling. The Caesar salad was the best I ever had and I am not really a fan of Caesar salad but there it is. Afterwards we wandered over to the conjoining confectionary for some gelato. They hold your table for you and just add the deserts to your bill. The gelato was creamy and decadent while my wife had the tres leches cake. She loved it. The pace is laid back but the service was great with a few people stopping to ask if we needed anything. Love everything about this place and that's why we always come back whenever we are in that area.

Ok. I am starting to think I have some kind of mental disorder that prevents me from understanding what to do in restaurants that don't have signs explicitly telling me what to do when I enter. I was invited on a lunch date to Napolis and had never been. I arrived before my friend and was the first person in the restaurant that day. I entered, then sort of stood around before I had to ask a girl at the counter what I was supposed to do. Turns out, sit anywhere. Considering we were the only two people in the room, it would have been nice for her to go ahead and offer that info, but again maybe I'm just a special kind of stupid. On to the food. The lunch prices were decent but I'm not sure I'd pay the full dinner price for what I got. The tomato basil soup was yummy, but I've never had such creamy soup. I felt like I was clogging my arteries with each bite - not something you anticipate with tomato basil soup. I got vegetable lasagna and, you know, it was okay. I kind of picked out the yummy parts but left quite a bit on my plate. The bread was those weird, hardened, skinny, long loafs that give me the urge to hit someone with them, but not very appetizing. I'd call them breadsticks, but they looked fancier and tasted staler. In all, I just wasn't sold on this place. So small it was impossible not to listen to other people's conversations and suspect they are listening in on yours. And there are Italian places I am actually in full on love with on Main Street, so I'm not sure I'll be coming back.

Not all that great. The service is typically not very good. Last time I was in there, the server brought something other than what I ordered and asked me to eat it anyway. Just not that great...

Best pistachio gelato I have ever had! They opened a new confectionery next door. They even have wax bottles-a blast from my past!

The service was poor. The server brought out the check before we could finish our entree and didn't ask if we wanted anything else. The food was mediocre at best. Everything was smothered in cream and butter. The sauce tasted like it was canned. Seemed like everything was pre-made and heated in the microwave. How does fresh food come out in less than 5 minutes after placing the order? Definitely not coming back here again!

Was at Grapefest last night and three of us decided to grab a bottle of wine and dinner. Gave our reservation and mobile number. After an hour we called them and was told our table was ready. Then we get there order and wait 30 minutes for the wine. Another waitress brings our entrees...what happened to the salads first...you still want your salads...yes we do. And one of the orders is wrong...the waitress doesn't want to take it back. She does and we wait another 30 minutes still no salads. The waitress said the owner was in the back playing XBox...really? He comes out...we say we're not paying...they take away our wine glasses... Huh? No apology... Sorry let us get u a dessert...take away our glasses? Shameful! No idea how to handle poor service and rude waitresses! Go back to playing Grand Theft Auto and leave running a restaurant to those more capable!

I went to the bakery part of this place and got a canoli because I had been craving some due to watching cake boss. It was pretty good but I won't go out of my way to get one because they were kind of expensive. That being said it was good and I would recommend trying one.

The wife and I were looking for a late lunch after walking around with everyone else looking at all the Christmas decorations and came across this place. Coming from San Francisco and knowing good Italian food this place is not bad. The service was also pretty good from the young kids that were working there. The portions were enough to fill us up for the rest of the day and night. The place is small but worth the cramped quarters. We'll be going back to this place again.

My brother and I had just gotten into town from Kansas City to visit our parents for Christmas and our good friends. We all decided to go out to eat at Napolis. Cute place, and I was very excited to eat there. As soon as we all were seated and greeted by our waitress, I knew it would be an interesting night. The waitress did not greet us with a smile, looked angry the whole time, got our drink order wrong, didn't put ice in sweet tea, and much more to begin with. We didn't really say much..just asked for the correct drinks. She took so long on them that my brother had to go up to the bar and grab his own drink. When the food came, everyone got their order and the waitress and a guy that was helping her deliver the food were standing there with some entree that did not belong to us, but my brother did not have his speghetti yet. They insisted that someone ordered that, and no one did. The guy was pretty rude about it when we said we didn't order that, and we were just missing one speghetti. They finally took it back and brought back my brother's speghetti about 15 minutes later, which he said the meatballs were cold. At the end of the meal, my brother politely pulled the waitress aside so that she wouldn't feel embarrassed, and kindly told her that he was not very pleased with his experience. She freaked out and said, "what do you want a free drink or something?" My brother still kept calm and told her everything that had gone wrong. He then asked to speak to the manager, and she said she is the manager. You would think if you were managing a business, you would want repeat customers. Apparently not. She was completely rude while talking to him, worse than I have ever heard any restaurant manager talk to a customer. She never apologized, and finally took off his meal after he said that was the least she could do. Very rude staff and she took forever to do anything..we spent about 2 hours there.

We met friends for lunch here on Saturday. There were four adults, one four-year-old, and three babies in our party. With that many children, we figured lunch needed to be quick, and we assumed this place would be. The restaurant looked mostly empty, with only a couple of tables taken in the front room. We were there for two full hours. The wait staff was very overwhelmed and disorganized. Our waiter took a long time to get any of our orders - drinks, appetizers, food, etc. Apparently they had a big table in the back, but I saw at least three waitresses, so I was confused about why they were so slow and disorganized. Then I realized there was ONE person working in the kitchen, which explains why everything came out so slowly. Ridiculous! I got spaghetti and meatballs. It was okay, definitely not as good as homemade. My daughter had the fettucini alfredo, which was absolutely flavorless. Our friends got a pizza margherita, which looked pretty, but the cheese wasn't even fully melted - seriously!?! They didn't have a gluten free pasta option, so my husband ordered the salmon with vegetables, and it looked disgusting. I would say this was equivalent to airplane food. Not inedible, but not what I would choose if I had other options.

This is a small bistro-style Italian restaurant. Yes, maybe they could glam it up a bit but that isn't what this place is trying to be. Yes, Macaroni Grill and Olive Garden (OLIVE GARDEN??? The Denny's of Italian???) have better ambience as another reviewer states, but Olive Garden's entres are made in a central kitchen, FROZEN, and reheated in the restaurant according to the kitchen staff who told us this on our last visit. So - let's deal with Napolis as it is. My daughter, who did not want Italian food at all on this particular evening, reluctantly accompanied me to the restaurant. She ordered a Greek salad and Tomato Basil soup. The soup was creamy and delicious and the Greek salad was good except that they used black olives instead of calamata - so it was kind of a Greek/Italian salad. I ordered a small Lisa's Pizza and a small antipasto salad. The antipasto was good my only suggestion would be that they cut the meats in smaller portions so that they are both more attractive and don't overpower the plate with their size. The pizza was very tasty with a good sauce and nicely balanced toppings. The crust was delicious. My daughter tasted the pizza and then proceeded to chow down two pieces of mine (apparently, contrary to her belief, you don't go immediately to hell or gain 10 pounds on your hips if you ingest carbs as a teenager...) They have a good selection of deserts and a broad selection of gelati. While we were there several people came in just to take away bowls of gelato and although we didn't try any the reactions on the faces of young and old alike seemed to signal enjoyment. Service was pleasant and attentive and the young people working there seemed to be enthusiastic amount their jobs and the menu. This in itself was a treat. Yes, if you are looking for the New York Italian restaurant experience, this is not the place nor do I know of such a place close by. But, if you are looking for good Italian food in a small bistro environment there is absolutely nothing wrong with Napolis...unless you are perhaps Gordon Ramsey...but I'm not...and neither are you...so enjoy!

Yummy! I recently had the pleasure of meeting some colleagues at Napoli's for a nice lunch in downtown Grapevine. I made the mistake of parking in the lot on the southside of downtown, so the folks who rode with me had quite a walk to get there. It was worth the extra steps. Napoli's has an extensive lunch menu featuring a variety of pasta dishes, most of which are priced at $7.95. I found this to be very reasonable, considering you also get a soup or salad with the lunch. They also have a wide variety of pizzas to choose from. I chose the spaghetti with Italian sausage with a pasta fagioli soup. The soup had multiple types of beans and was very nice. The breadstick that came with it was fresh-baked and delicious as well. The Italian sausage that came with the spaghetti was a little bit spicy and fit very well with the sauce of the pasta. I really enjoyed the entree and the soup. The service left a little to be desired. I think it is important to remember that this spot is a unique spot on Main St. with a lot of personality. If your group has to wait for quite a while to get cashed out, that should probably be expected. After our meal, some of us were intrigued by the very appealing desserts and chocolates displayed as we exited. Some of us picked up some slices of cake, and I myself couldn't resist the gelatos displayed with the other desserts, and I ended up with a cone of the butter pecan. It was nice to have a treat for the exceptionally long walk along Main St back to the trusty F150. All things considered, a very good lunch.

Yawn. This place is boring and makes you feel weird. Why is it so hard to find a good, inexpensive, non-chain Italian place around here? I hear people raving about this place all the time...I have no idea why. Seriously, Macaroni Grill & Olive Garden are a million times better....and that's a horrible thing to say! The food is average....nothing special. Heavy on the BUTTER. I swear most of it seems out of a can/jar/bag. The staff was made up of a bunch of kids that didn't really want to be there....which never makes for a good experience. I can't put my finger on what exactly was so weird about this place, but there was just something uncomfortable and icky about it. I wanted to get out of there and go anywhere else. Heck, I'd rather cook some pasta myself at home...it would taste a lot better. Even the pizza was eh. How can you mess up pizza? I will say I have experienced their catering and it was amazing. Delicious meatballs and cheesy breads.....wow. Maybe they have different cooks? It's a real shame. Don't believe the old lady on Main Street telling you how great this place is. Don't let the cute location and sign fool you either. Pass this place up. You'll thank me later.

Please take my word for it - I am a DFW foodie and by far, I have NEVER had worse treatment than Napolis Italian Cafe in Grapevine, TX. So much so, that I will take my time to join YELP and hopefully save others. My mother, my sister and I went to Grapevine Main St. for a nice night together, starting with dinner. Chose Napoli's Italian Cafe..... Seated, got drinks. Waitress Charlotte ignored us for next 20 minutes. She tended other tables, ignored ours, my sister called out excuse me and she ignored us. My sister asked someone else for help. He took our order - he looked very disinterested, looking everywhere other than right in front of him as he was taking our order. He leaves, said will be back with refills. Waitress comes back, my sister asked why did you not want to help us? She said she's been really busy with other tables (she was at register entire time. I have seen this place busy, on a Monday night it was not, half place was empty with about 10 waitstaff). And by the way, was our table not that important but all others were, you were too busy to say I will be right with you or check on us ? She had a horrible attitued. Other guy comes back. I asked for the refill, he forgot - HE TURNED AROUND AND GOT A LEFT OVER DR. PEPPER FROM ANOTHER TABLE AND POURED IT IN MY SISTERS GLASS! Right in front of us, who does that!!! He said they just left he didn't see them drink out of it!!!! THEN the waitress comes back with her attitued, I asked for another Dr. Pepper, she said why, I told her what just happened, with her attitude said no it didn't let me go ask him! what in the world!!! No apologies, horrible attitude, pretty much called customer a liar and we wasted 45 minutes topped with a horrible way to start our night. So we got up and left. PLEASE HIRE SOMEONE WHO CARES AND DOES NOT RUIN YOUR BUSINESS! At this point I would not eat here even if you paid me to.There are too many good places in Grapevine than to go spend hard earned money for this type of treatment, for no reason other than your wait staff are teens who do no care and have horrible attitudes. The workers at Napoli's who are reading this - IF you don't want to be there, please don't. NO reason to treat customers this bad.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
