My boyfriend and I just ate at this restaurant. It wasn't terrible but I don't believe it deserves an honorable mention. The food was OK, nothing spectacular but not horrible. The service was the reason for 2 stars versus 3. The staff isn't the friendliest, or at least to us they weren't. We saw the waiter when he took our drink orders and when he returned with the check and asked us if we'd like a beverage to go...mind you we were still eating at this point. We felt a little rushed after that. One last thing I'll add is if you do not eat pork, you may want to consider another location for brunch. I eat pork but my bf doesn't. Most of the meats to choose from were pork, with the exception of the shrimp (which was pretty tasty). Most of the green vegetables were prepared with pork as well. Needless to say, I ate way more than he did which is usually not the case. We'll likely not return for another meal. Hope this helps.

Awesome lunch menu and variety every day of the week. Just get there early lunch or late lunch if you want a seat. If you go at the peek around 12, it's flooded with the elderly ordering mashed potatoes.

We rented a room for a Saturday lunch with 21 people. This was our first time at B. McNeel's. We loved the ambiance and decor. The appetizers were decent, but nothing great. Our main courses (salad, steaks, shrimp & grits, chicken) was excellent. What was lacking was service. The two guys who served seemed like they tried, but there weren't enough servers. When we got there we found debris all over the floor and chairs from the night before. And the appetizers were supposed to be out at noon, but it was closer to 12:30 when they brought them all out. We complained, and they took care of it. No one cleared our plates when we were finished and waiting on dessert, so we put them on the appetizer table ourselves, and one of our guests grabbed the tea and water pitchers to refill glasses while our two servers passed out dessert. They gave us a discount for the bad service, but we would have rather had good service and paid for it. Might go there for lunch, maybe they handle that better, but would not return with a catered event. It's a shame, since the ambiance and food are so good. One more server probably would've done it!

I came for B McNeel's Sunday Brunch Buffet a few weeks back and it was all right. Not the best brunch I've ever had, but not the worst! Grits, biscuits (jam, no gravy!), potatoes, breakfast meats of many varieties, potatoes, fruits, salad, scrambled eggs... pretty standard. Nothing really stood out as amazing or terrible. The dessert was delicious, but reallllllllly sweet (and I love sweet). The service was mildly attentive, not fantastic, to our party of 6 people (Coffee cups were empty before refills were given, etc.) No major raves, no major complaints. Pretty cute place.

We had a class party here for our 40th high school reunion last weekend. Every single thing was wonderful: the food, the location, the ambiance (we had the entire upstairs) and the staff. We could not have chosen a better place. Thanks to all the staff for making our event so great!

Great service and wonderful brunch buffet on Sunday. I suggest to make a reservation since I noticed a wait formed as the morning progressed. They serve both breakfast and lunch on the brunch buffet. Nice atmosphere being upscale and trendy without being pretentious. This is one of the best brunches in Murfreesboro.

How did I not know about this place? It's fantastic! I'm almost hesitant to write a review because this place is by far the best kept secret in Murfreesboro. Since our favorite lunch spot closed recently, we've been searching for a new place. We found it! The beef stroganoff is incredible, and the chicken with dressing is delicious! Great service, awesome atmosphere (exposed brick walls, antique player piano, and giant windows!), and super inexpensive! Can't beat it. We are the new regulars!

We've gone a few times for sunday brunch. The first time was AMAZING! True southern food to me. Second time, we went on a "holiday." Even with reservations, we waited awhile and the service was super slow. The food is mostly good. Servers are friendly. Still our go-to for something special in the 'boro. I recommend making reservations on sunday! Small little place with nice old southern ambiance. Try it at least once!

We have been trying to come here for yrs. finally got out of bed early enough to do Sunday brunch. OMG!!!! The food was great. The only reason I'm not giving a fifth star is they did not have enough servers for the number of people. The brunch is a buffet which I didn't expect. The table had several items I also didn't expect. (Salmon patties, beef stroganoff, sliced carrots) all delicious. I'm writing this before I've seen the bill but I'm thinking it will be worth every penny. A must try is the French toast!!!!! My waitress just brought the check and we will return. Cheaper than copper kettle but on the same level of excellence.

Doesn't really matter what the food is like if you can't even get waited on. Once our order was finally taken, food came quick but we then couldn't get a server to bring pepper vinegar for the (bitter) collards and the black-eyed peas. Finally got to request it but they don't have it! Cuke salad was excellent, so was pot roast, deviled eggs, and the fruit was fresh. Portions are extremely generous. But it only matters if you can get waited on.

Before you judge b mcneals you must take all things into context... It's a meat and three in Murfreesboro. Most of my reviews start with something like this... However, this is a classy place with a killer vibe and good southern food just off the square. Good location Sexy vibe Good food Put all that in the boro and you have a winner.

Great Sunday Buffett. They also gave the option to have an order of eggs Benedict freshly made. Yum!!! Dessert options were great. The caramel pie was amazing!!!!

the sunday brunch is good ~however you can never get the eggs benedict french toast etc. advertised as part of the brunch due to the kitchen shutting down early every sunday

My wife and I had our first date here and we started with some crazy martini's. They were excellent. Our app was whole okra deep fried in a nice spicy batter. I can't remember what our entrees were but they were very good as well. The interior is really cool and most of the kitchen is exposed so that patrons can see the food being made. Very cool place!

McNeel's is a lovely place to have a civilized southern luncheon. Their lunch menu consists of an amazing amount of items for such a small place. On one side is an upscale version of meat-and-three and on the other are salads, soups and sandwiches. I unwittingly ordered probably the most fattening (and therefore probably the best) thing on the menu, a grilled salmon BLT, which was served on a croissant slathered with a flavored mayonnaise with extremely thinly sliced battered onion slivers. I could feel my arteries crying out while I was eating it, but it tasted great! Everything my dining partners ordered looked delicious too. I went with a big group and we sat upstairs, which is a lovely room filled with bookcases, perfect for a quiet, dignified lunch. Their prices are really good considering how nice the surroundings are. This is one of the nicest places I've eaten in Murfreesboro.

Sunday brunch at B. McNeel's was excellent. No qualms at all about the first-class Southern cuisine. Staff was slow to bring us our water in the beginning (servers should always immediately bring water for patrons) and the server seemed overly concerned with us submitting our payment. But, overall, was excellent food and well worth it. Highly recommend it!

We have dined there several times before and always had a good experience. But today we tried the brunch buffet--on New Years Day. It seemed disorganized, poor quality and poorly managed. Some items on the buffet were out, cold, stale or dry. They were out of champagne even though they advertised mimosas. I don't know if this is a downward trend or just an off day, but I will wait to hear more before chancing it again.
