First I'm far from food snob but I know what I like. That fried chicken is seriously finger kickin good.

Went to Bishop's at 3pm and the place was deader than a door nail. But was hungry and desperate for some hot chicken... They had a sign saying they offered Hattie B's hot chicken... Can they do that? So I got it. The server girl pulled out 2 pieces of regular fried chicken under the foil from the warming pan at the counter, took it into the kitchen, and in 5 minutes came out with hot chicken. Can they do that and call it real hot chicken too? I dunno. I feel I didn't get the real McCoy. And it didn't blow me away.

It's sooooo good! I was passing through the state and had to stop! So worth the stop!

This was our first time here and the staff wasn't particularly helpful in describing the process. It was pretty awkward- the woman serving didn't say hi or ask any questions, she just stared off in the distance waiting for me to say what I wanted. Not exactly accessible. However, what I ended up with was pretty good! I would describe all the dishes I tried as cafeteria-style. My husband got hot chicken, which is branded on the menu as Hattie B's, but they said they make it there. Not sure how that works. The seating area is also relatively small, so going with a group would probably be difficult.

The credit card machine was down when we went and they wrote down our information which I wasn't very happy with. The food was of grand proportion but not at all what I was craving or wanting. Just a greasy mess of fried chicken. I left most of it on my plate.

Pleasant surprise in Franklin. It's cafeteria style and they have about 5ish proteins to choose from along with 8ish sides. We got here minutes before they opened so all the food was fresh, untouched, and waiting for me. I really enjoyed the fried chicken, so juicy and just a little greasy. For my sides I got the mac and cheese (very cheesy), the dressing (I call it stuffing), and green beans - all delicious. It's nothing fancy (boo styrofoam plates!) but the service is friendly, the tea is fresh, and there's some outdoor seating.

We've been here a few times with the kids and have loved it!!! The hot chicken is amazing and the sides are so delicious:). I really like the Mac and cheese, greens...hubby really likes the sweet potatoes...mmmm! There is the sweetest gal behind the counter...she is super nice and always makes us feel at home when we are there:). The nice thing about this place is that it's quick to get your food...cafeteria style...and it's all so good! That is especially nice with youngsters...and the kids really like it!

The food was delicious! The cafeteria style ordering system allows for a quick flow through the ordering process. A wide variety of food options that included flavors from other local greats such as Hattie B's.

I came in on Saturday afternoon (around 2 pm). I wanted chicken and was headed to good ole Chickfila when I remembered that Bishop's served hot chicken so I thought I would give it a try. The atmosphere is a little confusing. Bishop's is an establishment that serves southern food - mac and cheese, chicken, green beans, mash potatoes, etc. and yet the first thing I noticed was today's pop hits playing loudly. I didn't find it fitting. I waited in line for 15-20 minutes for my food as there was only one employee serving the line as well as working the register. One poor man and 12 people in line. There was another employee who I saw going in and out of the back after picking up used trays from above the trash can. I use to work in food and bev, I was always told to take care of the line of customers first and worry about everything else later. But I'm guessing that's not the case at Bishop's... Food was average. Chicken was just okay. I got broccoli casserole, mac and cheese and mash potatoes all of which were also, just okay. Bishop's wasn't worth the wait or the money. Cracker Barrel has better quality food.

When it comes to the top Meat and Three restaurants in Middle TN, Bishop's is certainly near the top of the list; I'd say it handily takes the top spot when restricting the geography to the Franklin/Cool Springs area. The place is relatively small, but people tend to move on through and eat quickly, so tables have a way of opening up just as they're needed. The food is awesome -- the fried chicken is especially tasty. All the sides are legitimately scratch-made, down to the small lumps of un-mashed potatoes in the mashed potatoes. For you hot chicken aficionados, Bishop's serves Hattie B's branded hot chicken -- I assume there's some sort of arrangement between the establishments, but it saves you a drive to Midtown or West Nashville when you're craving your Hattie B's fix. They only had Mild through Damn Hot, so you Shut the Cluck Up masochists will still have to make the trek to one of Hattie's locations. The only reason I subtract a star is the plastic silverware and Styrofoam plates and cups -- I get it, but it doesn't mean I have to like it.

Some of the best hot chicken I've had so far. Got the tenders hot style, they were super hot but not to the point where they went enjoyable. Got what I thought was sweet potato souffle and was informed it was carrot puree, it was amazing and if nobody told me differently I would have never known. Meat and 2 with cornbread less than $10 great lunch spot.

Good for a meat and 3 style lunch in Franklin. The fish is good but the chicken is great. They will do the hot chicken from Hattie Bs if you ask.

I was visiting Franklin with a friend who was there on business. We ate at Bishop's our last night and I am so glad we did. The fried chicken was delicious along with the dressing. But that carrot soufflé, OH. MY. LORD. Best carrot soufflé I've ever had. Considering moving from Mississippi just to be near it lol

I just tried Bishop's last night and am a huge fan already. My brother in law and I decided one of us would get the hot chicken and the other one would get the chicken fried chicken so we could share and have a little of both. It is a nondescript little restaurant in a strip mall. When you walk in the food is set out cafeteria style and you just tell them what you want. You grab a tray, silverware and napkins as they prepare your plate. If you are dining in they put the food on a disposable plate. if you are taking it to go they put it in a to go box, obviously. The employees were friendly and offered their assistance if we needed anything. The choices of meat are written on a chalkboard so they do change. I got the chicken fried chicken, which was a big piece, with mashed potatoes and macaroni and cheese. It takes really great flavor for me to really love macaroni and cheese and this delivered. Everything was so flavorful. I didn't need to add any salt and pepper to any of it. It was great all on its own. I tried my brother in laws hot chicken and it was great too. I believe he got medium as the flavor and it was just the right amount of heat. I would definitely order that next time. The food also comes with a roll or cornbread. I got the roll but since I am not a huge bread person I didn't try it especially since I was enjoying my meat and vegetables instead. This is a great find if I am in the area!

We stopped here after my sister raved about it. Pretty crowded inside. There were a lot of choices of food. After seeing a guy get what looked like sweet bbq chicken to go, I asked for that as well. I was informed it was hot sauce/buffalo. I got the hot chicken in mild but seemed sort of like medium. The chicken breast was big. I also got Mac and cheese after reading the reviews. I also wanted to try the jalapeño cornbread (okay) and the stuffing was gritty. The Mac & cheese was pretty good when I added some salt. The meal held me over for a long time.

I'm rarely down in Franklin so when I'm there I usually don't try many new places. We were actually parked in the Chick Fil A parking lot when I looked over and saw Bishop's and thought, what the heck, might as well try something new! We walked in and almost walked back out. The restaurant is nothing to look at, it's not decorated cute, it's not vibey, it's just a restaurant in a strip center with ready made items at the front. My husband and I decided to stick it out because the reviews on Yelp are so good, glad we did! They had pot roast, one of my favorite meals ever. I will stay anywhere for pot roast! I decided on the pot roast with mashed potatoes, mac and cheese and green beans. The pot roast was delicious!! I could eat that every day. Now the sides, one of the reasons I gave this place a 3, some are good, some are really not great. The green beans taste like they were just dumped from a can, nothing special, nothing nutritious, just soggy green beans. The mashed potatoes were runny, couldn't figure out if they are instant or just really thin. The mac and cheese, however, is pretty good! Update - Since my first time I've been back a couple more times. Each time there are definitely good parts to the meal and then some sub par parts. Another drawback is sometimes they have really great employees and then sometimes, like this last time, they have some employees that couldn't care less about helping out.

Hmmmm... I'm a little at a loss of words on this one. While the food was nice, it wasn't fabulous and most didn't taste home cooked. I don't remember seeing any claim to it being homemade either, but assumed.... (I know, never assume). But for a weekday quick lunch, it's much better than a hamburger and fries IF they can keep the line moving. It is buffet style and they have several choices, which is a nice change from the normal chicken/taco/hamburger lunch choices. The staff didn't seem to genuinely care about their guests getting food quickly, or keeping the line moving. It seems when the lunch/dinner crowd dies down (and supplies are OUT) they don't really care to refill these things for the NEW clients coming in. A bit more signage telling people where the line starts (for when the place doesn't have a line) would be helpful. I think it's a good concept, but is still missing something, but I can't say what. I DO like the fact that it is a nice hot, cafeteria-style meal and is an excellent choice on the run, which is often very hard to find. I'll try this one again.

Honestly I was hesitant trying this place due to the mixed reviews but I am glad I gave it a chance. I'm a stickler on soul food since it plays a huge role in my childhood for a time period. Service was quick, which was great for a to go order. Ordered hot chicken, carrot casserole, mac n cheese, and corn bread. The hot chicken had a crispy crunch and wonderful flavor with the heat expected of hot chicken and was all around delicious. The other foods left me lacking by comparison. The casserole was overbearingly sweet (even for soul food), the mac n cheese was under seasoned, and the corn bread was dry. So while the service and meat was phenomenal...everything else brought me to calling this an "okay" joint. Maybe if I ate the sides first I would be singing a different tune...regardless. GET THE FRIED (HOT) CHICKEN. IT'LL MAKE YOUR DAY :) Also it's pretty cheap considering the amount of everything you get.

I think the original plan was to do Sunday brunch at J. Christopher's, but there was already a 45-minute wait by 10:30am. The Yelp app said Bishop's was across the street and ready to open, so we took a chance. Sometimes, it's good to take a chance. Classic Southern meat & three, and pour some more of that wacky sweet tea. Incidentally, Austinites get excited over fried chicken - they just opened a Gus's here - but apparently y'all in Nashville have it everywhere and can take it for granted. I actually did the grilled tilapia to feel semi-healthy, and what I thought were sweet potatoes may have been Bishop's carrot soufflé specialty - whatever it was, it was great. I'm not the biggest fan of styrofoam or cafeteria-style service, but it's no big deal. I'll take quick & clean & cheap & good anytime - a win-win combo no matter where you're from. This place was just an all-around pleasant bonus. I usually don't say this about restaurants, but at Bishop's, they had me at hello.

I was NOT impressed. In fact I was disappointed. We wanted catfish and some good ole meat + 3 side dishes. I should've stopped when I saw how empty the place was at the height of lunchtime. I kept on anyway. While place was very clean and the counter of food inviting; the food experience didn't match up. 1) The portions were just okay 2) The food was "fresh" and they shuttled out more pans as folks did come to order but.....3) There was NO FLAVOR whatsoever to anything. I mean, can you please use seasoning? 4) The mashed potatoes were boxed made, not homemade 5) There was a salad with broccoli, cauliflower and raisins that sat in a watery sauce 6) The cabbage was plain no flavor at all 7) And the carrot soufflé was too over sweet. So what DID I like, the hot sauce that I slathered in order to add flavor. I'm sure the desserts were great but I didn't want to go any further than I went. Two meals, plus drinks totaled $26.31. I'll pay for great food so that's not an issue. But unfortunately, never again here. Meat + 3's should have that down home flavor and "ooooh you've got to go to this place" type of review. This placed missed those marks.

I wanted to get something quick and cheap... this was quick but not cheap. A meat and 2 is $8.49 and meat and 3 is $8.99. Then again, we are in Cool Springs. Today, I had the braised beef tips over rice with turnip greens and carrot souffle. The braised beef tips over rice was okay - it had beef, celery and carrots in a gravy... the turnip greens, pretty standard. The carrot souffle was buttery and was probably my favorite out of everything I had. The server was nice and explained what everything was. There are probably about 10-12 two/four seater tables. Moe's BBQ is similiar and nearby. I won't be returnng to Bishop's.

While I was living in Franklin, I found myself here a bunch of times. For my money, the sides are where its at. I vote strongly for the carrot souffle as being a favorite, and the mac and cheese. I did mostly sides when I came here, but the fried chicken is good. I found the sweet tea too sweet, unless cut with regular tea. the banana pudding made me very happy. All in all, a good fast place with not so fast food. great for those nights when cooking is just not going to happen.

This is a great meat &3!! Been 2x for lunch. Fast service. FRESH fried chicken & sides (LOVE the sweet carrots!). May have hard time finding a table or parking spot during lunch rush. Place is super clean, very friendly, generous portions, good food & great value all around!! Please thumb up/comment if you liked this review and I would count it a privilege if you chose to follow me as I review places I travel and visit. Thank you for taking the time to read! ~mp

Bishops is a throwback to a mentality long lost in today's world - the owners know you don't have to eat there!! They have the best customer service in Franklin, which probably explains why they are the fastest growing eatery in Franklin. Their food is all home cooked, even the desserts. Southern style "mama's cooking." Clean, well kept, and always busy! You absolutely will not be disappointed.

    (5)
  • Nash B.

if you're looking for an authentic meat n' three, this is not the place. i'm used to the authenticity of Wendell Smith's, Arnold's, and Edgefield Restaurant (all in Nashville). Bishop's does not even come close in comparison. (I'm figuring that they get their veggies from a can."

We eat at Bishop's often. We have always had a pleasant experience there. The food is consistently good and the service is always very friendly and polite. It's also great if you are on the go and need to drop in and get meals for take out.

Bishop's is a quaint meat and three in Cool Springs. I've eaten here once for lunch, and for a meat-and-three, it was quite good. The price was super reasonable, and their grilled chicken was moist and tender. The food was definitely flavorful, and the portion sizes are huge. Come hungry if you stop by Bishop's.

Very nice place. I believe the owner was working the line. Very friendly. Food was ok. mashed potatoes too runny and food not very spicey but it was good. Portions were ok but could have been bigger. Place was clean price was right. If they charged more I would probably drop my rating. I agree the vegitables are canned but I think there focus is good food at reasonable prices and thats what they have.

  • Kelley H.

Not real southern cooking. (Stouffer's-ish) Small portions. I had slaw, a soupy squash casserole and a small BBQ chicken, my husband had a three vegetable plate. We each had a glass of tea. Over $20. The atmosphere is "fast food." Another review said it was "quaint." It is very sterile and in a shopping center. Sorry, but the food was not very good and we felt ripped-off.

Great meat and three. It s a small in and out restaurant. The outside seating area is very nice and cool even in a hot day (~100F when we came in today). They do serve Hottie B hot chicken. We ordered the medium one and still think it is really hot which we think it is great.

This is a great meat and 3. Always steady but never a really long wait. They have Hattie B's hot chicken which is awesome. Menu changes daily so there's always something new to try.

Had heard rumors they were behind Hattie B's Hot Chicken, and they were serving it at Bishop's... Rumor is fact, and I couldn't be happier! EVERYTHING on the menu, that I've tried is fantastic! The carrot soufflés is dessert! You can not go wrong here! Love this place! Great prices and food!

  • Gen M.

Tried the hot chicken which was ok and also the fried chicken which had been sitting for awhile so it wasn't as fresh. The sides were ok but again had been sitting to long. Maybe if you get here when it's just cooked otherwise they seem to let the food sit to long. I wouldn't bother going back to try it again though. Seems to me it would always just be an ok place.

  • Christie P.

Solid home cooking, including fried chicken and fried catfish, and plenty of homemade sides to go with the meat. My only complaint was the green beans were straight out of a can; I was really hoping they would be homemade like the staff promised they were. Still, if you are craving home cooking, and you don't want to go to Cracker Barrel, this is a good place.

Just plain awesome cooking! Wish we had places like this in Ohio. It's like grandmas Sunday cookin' but better. Meat is perfectly done and lightly seasoned. Vegetables are well cooked but not mushy and the iced tea is delish !

Bishop's is my favorite meat and 3 in the Franklin area. Always friendly service. I do wish it was a bigger place! It can be hard to find a seat.

A nice surprise! Definitely worth checking out! The chicken fried steak was tender and flavorful, the sides - plentiful and tasty. I typically like veggies but the mac n cheese looked too good to pass up...and it was!!!! Jalapeño cornbread was a nice touch to!!! Kind of tight in there, but glad we stopped!!!!

  • Robert U.

This place is pretty solid. The food is good, and that comes first. Second, it's pretty clean and well presented, which I appreciate. The offerings are pretty typical meat-and-free stuff. That's what I expect and that's what I get. The service is good, but since it's cafeteria style, service does not play a real big role in the whole experience. The folks working there are friendly, which is one of my requirements. It's just a bit pricy for true meat-and-three. We are all a big proud of ourselves here in Franklin and Brentwood areas, so I guess this just goes with it.

Since my last review, Bishop's owner has opened Hattie B's Hot Chicken in Nashville and added hot chicken to the menu at Bishop's. And let me give you a small piece of advice. Eat the hot chicken (ask for mild the first time!). It goes perfectly with mac and cheese, which is rich and yummy. Mister B we love you.

Sweet mother of southern food, this place is awesome. Stopped in here with work friends for some lunch for the first time. What a treat! Two of us ordered the same thing, smothered fried pork chop, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, jalapeno corn bread and some banana pudding to split. The pork chops are submerged in a brown onion heavy gravy, in which the awesome breading stays put despite being soaked, absolutely delicious. The mac and cheese is that wonderful homemade baked casserole mac and cheese that is so creamy and decedent. The mashed potatoes were pretty good, certainly not the star of this meal. The banana pudding was wonderful with cream and bananas and nilla wafer crumbles and a whole one to top it off. And while it did cost $12 for this lunch, it is worth it with its portions. I didn't stand a chance at finishing the food, so now I have plenty to take home and enjoy again. We will certainly be back when we feel like being indulgent, I can't wait to try some more.

Because sometimes you just crave fried chicken....Bishop's is a pretty good meat and three. I especially love the carrot suffle and the fried chicken is pretty darn good too. The place is small so if you're going for lunch during the week, go early.

  • Heather S.

The hot chicken is great if you like that kind of thing, and their normal fried chicken is very good. Both are always very moist, fresh and crispy. I had their chicken fried chicken today for the first time and it was probably my favorite entree they serve. Squash casserole, Mac n cheese and mashed potatoes always yum. I am not blown out of the water by this place, especially because the selection is small, but it is certainly good and sooo fast. Not sure what everyone else is complaining about.

I love this little meat and three. Everything is just so good. The carrot souffle is something I've never had before and it is delicious. You have to try it when you go there. I am also very happy to have found a good hot chicken place!

I needed a break from the hotel and decided to walk the 2 miles to Bishops. I think that they thought that I was crazy, but it was totally worth it. Best fried chicken that I have ever had, and the carrot souffle is, as other reviewers have said, awesome. Super nice staff. I will be back with friends on my next visit to Franklin.

Hot chicken is great here. Moist, and very spicy. The tomato and cucumber salad is a healthier side item if that is your type of thing. Mac n cheese and mashed potatoes are yummy. Sweet potatoes is also something worth trying.

Pretty good meat and three. The hot chicken is good but not as good as what they seem to have perfected at their sister store, Hattie B's. For one they offer no boneless options, just breasts or thighs. Personally I'm a big fan of hot chicken on a stick or hot chicken tenders. The hottest heat level you will find is "hot" which doesn't seem to be as hot as the same label I have had at Hattie B's. That's not very surprising though as any hot chicken connoisseur will tell you it's never really an exact science... some days it's just hotter than others. The hot recipe is similar to Hattie's though in that it's more of a wet and paste like coating with some sweetness thrown into the mix. Overall, it's very tasty. Other than the hot chicken this place is really known for their sides and I can definitely agree that it is a well deserved reputation. So far my favorite has been the carrot casserole which is like sweet potato casserole sub carrots. The carrots work as well as or better than sweet potatoes in this role and at a glance you would have a hard time knowing they weren't sweet potatoes. Don't skip on the jalapeno cornbread either, it's among the best cornbreads I've ever had. Two sides and hot chicken clocked in at $8 so the price to value point is excellent. The staff is friendly and always ask me how everything was before I leave. Is it the best meat and three around? No but it's up there. Is it one of the better places to grab lunch in Cool Springs? Definitely.

Well, meh..... not horrible. Definitely not remarkable. Hot chicken in Franklin is, not surprisingly, not the same (read: not as good) as hot chicken in Nashville. That makes sense right ? Hot chicken probably shouldn't come from a wealthy suburb. Hot chicken should be shoved out a sketchy window, awkwardly placed in a grease stained wall with chipped paint. This is certainly not that. This is Hot Chicken like your sister might make if she got the recipe off the back of a bottle of Cayenne Pepper. It's kinda close. Just not the chicken you would gladly wait an hour in line to place an order for, knowing it will be another 45 minutes wait to receive your bag of greasy goodness. Nope. This is 8 minute chicken. (Primarily because it's not cooked to order. It's the pre made fried chicken they have in the back and they just coat it with what the manager called a "wet rub".) Some things, though, are worth the wait. That's why I'll still make the drive to Prince's when I can. In the meantime, this is ok. I would choose it over a McDonald's Spicy Chicken Sandwich. But I won't wake uo craving it or anything. For what it's worth, this is my second try at Bishop's. I did the Meat and 3 version of the menu when I first moved here. But, I guess I've been around too many other great places to be impressed here. It certainly isn't anywhere near Cool Cafe quality, and I don't even think it can touch Daily Dish. I don't even want to consider how many light years it is from Arnold's Country Kitchen in Nashville! (Arnold's kills Bishop's on every possible comparison. ) Nice people. And Bishop's has a fan base. So, it won't be the worst you could do. Not by a long shot. It's just not the best. That's just one man's opinion, of course.

Bishop's is a regular once or twice a month stop for us when we're in Cool Springs. Is it gourmet food in a setting to match? No. Is it solidly good food in a sea of fast food and chains? Absolutely. Fried chicken is my go-to here - it's always hot, with crisp coating and the meat is moist. Nice selection of sides and a good balance of regular and new items available. Carrot souffle is delicious - get it. The only thing I've had here that I didn't care for was the chicken fried chicken. Another added bonus - kids 5 and under eat free - every day. Although chicken tenders aren't a regular item here (I don't think), they will make them to order if your little one would like them. The friendly staff, cooked-from-scratch food, fair pricing and local, small business factors make Bishop's a worthwhile stop.

Cool Springs finally has Hot Chicken - at Bishop's!!! We got 4 orders- mild, medium, hot, and extra hot. We got breast quarters but they do have leg qtrs too. Came on white bread with pickle. Although it wasn't quite as hot as Prince's, it came pretty darn close. I would order 1 level higher than what you do at Princes, so if you go for medium there you can probably handle hot at Bishops. I'm just thrilled to have hot chicken close to where I live/work - hallelujah! Price was decent too - came to $15 total for the 4 plates.

You know how every once in a while the star rating system in yelp just doesn't work for you? This is one of those times for me. Hubby and I visited Bishop's this past weekend for Sunday lunch. We've had several neighbors to comment, etc. and thought it was time to give them a try. It is a meat and three, but in my opinion it should really be named Bishop's Cafeteria. It's a small-ish place, and you walk in and go towards the back, grab a tray, napkins, and silverware, and pick out your meal. The meals are served on disposable styrofoam, and selections are quite varied. For my taste, they tended to have some strange options. Creole meatloaf, blackened fish, and their chicken is hot. Not temperature hot, spicy hot. Admittedly, I am a spice wimp. I do not order things that contain terms like cajun, creole, chipotle, spicy, hot, etc. But wouldn't you think in a "meat and three" the chicken would be fried chicken? Aren't they going for a Grandma's House feel? Hubby and I each got turkey and dressing, and we both commented that it was OK. Not great, not bad, but OK. I wish the yelp star didn't say A-OK, that implies better than OK to me. The turkey was a standard turkey breast, the dressing a tad dry, the green beans were clearly out of a can, and the cornbread muffin was also a bit dry. I had sweet potatoes which I will say were quite good. Hubby had mashed potatoes that he said were OK, but not that rich yumminess you might expect. We didn't try the desserts, and drinks are self-serve also in styrofoam cups. I bring up the disposables because to me if your decor is trying for Grandma's house, she would have never used styrofoam. At least not my grandmother. It is affordable, a meat & 2 was like $7.99 and meat &3 would have been $8.49 I think. But it's just not great like so many other yelpers have claimed. If you're looking for Grandma's Fried Chicken and super rich mashed potatoes, then you need to head out to Cool Springs down Mack Hatcher Pkwy and visit Cool Cafe. It's pretty much the same thing, but in my opinion way better. And way more Grandma's house.

People who aren't from the South call the food here "southern." Whereas the locals would just call this place another meat and three. And it's only in South where anyone would categorize mac & cheese as a "vegetable." Yes, it's very much like any other "meat & threes," but what you will notice different is that this place is clean. Service is fast and food is satisfying. It's relatively small so the place gets packed. Be sure to try... everything, but especially the yams, dressing, and greens. They also serve Hot Chicken. Finally, I don't have to put up with Prince's horrible service anymore. Their hot chicken is prepared within 8 minutes which beats Prince's 45 minute wait. And the chicken tastes lighter and moist. It's a great first-time experience for hot chicken if you never had it before. Definitely a top recommendation for "southern" food.

Another example of "stewardship" of the earth in "God's country". Styrofoam EVERYTHING. It boggles the mind how much styrofoam waste that will never degrade have been generated since this place has been opened. Never mind styrofoam releases toxins into hot food and all food when it's nicked with the tines of a fork or edge of a knife and spoon. Yum, good old fashioned down home toxic chemicals. Just like grandma used to make. Margarine, no real butter. Just to continue the general trend. Extremely bland "seasoning" on everything. One visit was plenty. Too bad Arnold's is closed on weekends. They blow every other meat and three in town, like this one, out of the water.

My wife, 2-year-old, son & I enjoyed our first visit here very much. The lunch line moved quickly and staff was very friendly. My wife's country steak wasn't hot but everything tasted great.

Alright 4 might be pushing it, but.... POSITIVE: +Awesome option when you want comfort food and dont feel like cooking. +Easy in an out. Dont have to wait for it to be prepared +Chicken N Dumplings... they know the way to my heart. +Friendly staff Negative: -Line can definitely get long at typical mealtimes. Hurry the fuck up lady!~ You've been staring at the food as long as I have. How the fuck can you not have your mind made up by now? Just tell the guy what you want already! Bottom Line: The food's not phenomenal, but it's just as good as any other take-out place and it's something besides chinese/pizza/takeout from TGI-Applebees-Outback. Just go during off-hours for best experience.

My family was spending the night nearby on our way to Florida. We decided to try this little place, and now we're thinking about stopping by again on the way back! Totally recommend hot chicken, smothered pork chops, and carrot casserole. Breads the only thing I would stay away from, everything else is good to great!

One of my favorite meat and threes in Nashville. I usually get the Chicken Fried Chicken but I also recommend the hot chicken. Don't miss the carrot souffle, it is amazing.

Bishop's is a delicious Meat and Three! I have eaten here at least 10 times and it's fantastic. It is definitely one of the best Meat and Threes in the area. The banana pudding also rocks!

Is it wrong to say that one of my favorite things about this place is that when Chuy's is packed I know I can get in/out of here without a wait? I've had several different entrees here & they've all been good, but nothing spectacular. My standard is Arnold's Country Cooking in Nashville -- and this is not in that category (or even really close). Seems to me that the veggies are probably the most authentic southern cooking items here, so maybe you're best off with the veggie plate?

I got an almond crushed whiting fish. It was really good. The macaroni & cheese was excellent!
