What a gem! A taste of the South. The Century House is an old brick house that now houses a lovely restaurant. The service is attentive and your sweet tea glass won't find itself empty. The clientele is local, but you will find a smattering of visitors, some from as far as Mrytle Beach. We hit the Sunday Brunch. They open at 11:30 and are done by 2:00. Don't come late and get a reservation. You need to call about a week ahead, no joke. Food is very southern. The "Salad Bar" has chicken salad, tuna salad, ham salad, and cucumber salad. This vegetable selection almost seems out of place, but it is great. The fried chicken was delicate and juicy, and the egg gravy is delicious. Don't miss the collards. Desserts are to die for, and they go fast. Everything is made in house. The lemon pie and banana pudding are borderline spectacular. Biscuits are amazing, especially with a dollop of the house-made jam. What an experience!
