We decided to try this place out for the first time. The food is not quality. The Greenville Golden Corral knocks this Greenwood Ryan's out of the park. The staff are friendly but the manager let us stand at the register waiting to be helped for a few minutes while a staff was complaining about his home life (I totally understand the need to vent) but she didn't even acknowledge us. We should've left but the kids were hungry and we wanted to be fair. I am not exaggerating about how she totally ignored us for a very long moment as we walked in to spend way to much for crappy food. There was no "I'm sorry about that". She didn't even initiate the first conversation. The food really isn't good. The bathrooms were disgusting but this isn't the staff's fault but rather the person who had explosive diarrhea and got it all over a stall and didn't notify staff. Every stall had dried feces on it. Was it from the food? What the heck is wrong with our society.

We went there yesterday for breakfast, we should have walk out once we entered the building and it was a balmy inside as it was outside. The staff were very pleasant, and the food selection seem to be plentiful. The food looked as though it had been sitting there all night and tasted about the same, it was awful to say the least!! So we thought "who could screw up a salad bar" but now I know, the salad was nasty and wilted. NOW to the cleanliness of the restaurant,, wow it was filthy so we got up and left,, we will NEVER go back!!

I am very surprised that this location has such horrible reviews. The reviews are a couple years old so I am assuming the management has completely changed. I don't do buffets often, but I decided to try this location after living in this town for a year. It was great! I expected it to be run down and dirty, but I was completely wrong. Great service as soon as I walked in the door. The buffet was extremely clean and there were a lot of great choices. I try to avoid buffets mainly because I try to eat healthy, but this location has a lot of great options for people who are counting calories. However, if you are not counting calories check out the dessert bar! There is an employee that is constantly baking desserts. I will return to this location not only for the great food on the buffet line and great service, but for those awesome rolls! Also...check the paper. There are always great coupons for Ryans!

We were tired and hungry and couldn't decide what we wanted for dinner. Never having been to Ryan's before, we decided a buffet would give us choices and get us in and out fast. Well, we did have choices, but the quality was poor. Some of the food looked truly disgusting, which isn't a good sign. We each chose a protein and 3 veggies and sat down to eat. I got the baked chicken thigh and my husband got an individual little metal ramekin with BBQ and potatoes. Our granddaughter chose the fried catfish. Every vegetable on the hot bar was either straight from a can or was cooked to death. The mac and cheese was so bad our 6-year-old granddaughter wouldn't eat it, and she'll eat anything. I tasted it and didn't want to swallow! The fried okra was greasy, soggy and tough at the same time. There were some nice looking roasted potatoes, but they were barely warm and not well seasoned. I added some sour cream and ate them because I was hungry. Truly, the only tasty item between the 3 plates was the BBQ dish. Their yeast rolls weren't fresh from the oven, so they were disappointing too. We left our mostly full plates and went to the salad bar, which was so-so. The tea was good, the service was good and the warm bread pudding was really good. The place was mostly empty, and it's very clear why. They need to hire some real cooks and cook some actual food. The buffet is $10.99 + drink. It wasn't worth $5. They handed us a coupon for a special deal ($17.99 for 2) and two free drinks, but I don't think we'll be back. Sorry Ryan's, you gotta up your game.

I would rather have gum surgery than eat at Ryan's again. Every time I think about going there I somehow manage to forget dirt-cheap quality food for standard quality prices, the genetically mangled and often rude/clueless staff, and the nasty bathroom floors. Ryan's is a smelly turd. Avoid.

The waitress was amazing. She kept our glasses full and when she heard me talking about how I had cooked too much of something she started giving me recipes on how to use it up. She was always asking if we needed anything and was super helpful. I wish I could do half a star just for her. Sadly, the food as always left more than a little to be desired. Lord only knows what they use to make the macaroni & cheese look yellow because it's certainly not cheese, the broiled fish was almost as overdone as the piece I accidently left in the microwave for 3 minutes on high just to warm it up, my mother kept asking how one could mess up rice that badly. Highlights that weren't disgusting were the house ranch dressing, dessert bar, black eyed peas & fried okra weren't too bad either.

Ryan's stands out as a true beacon for quantity over quality. I cannot comprehend how this hole is still in business. It's a chain buffet/steakhouse catering to no one. I cannot urge you to avoid this place enough. If I were dieing of hunger I'd start gnawing on my foot first before entering here.
