    I love Nonni's. This restaurant is a gem. The italian food is amazing, and the homemade pasta is to die for. I've had their bread, calamari, salads, calzones (i'm drooling just thinking about it), pizza, meatloaf, grilled chicken sandwich (best I've ever had)... literally everything I've order has been great. Sometimes the service is a bit off, and one time the meatloaf wasn't very hot, but I definitely recommend and you cannot go wrong with the prices!

    We came for a quick bite before a school concert. We let the waitress know we were in a ruse and ordered right away, a manicotti dinner and a personal buffalo chicken pizza. Both took over 45 minutes to arrive. We only saw the waitress when we gave our orders and never were offered drink refills while we waited. From ordering to paying we were at Nonni's for over an hour. The food itself was good. The manicotti were small (comes with 4) but were quite tasty. They came with some delicious garlic bread on the side. My friend's buffalo chicken pizza was small but very flavorful and had more chicken than I was expecting. Overall, the food was ok and the prices were reasonable. The service is extremely slow. Definitely don't come if you're in any kind of a rush.

    My girlfriend are both foodies and we've been going to Nonni's for the past two years because we liked the bartender and the food. So, we took my mom here for the first time two weeks ago. We sat at the bar for 12-15 minutes before anyone bothered to greet us. There were two couples that sat at the bar 10 minutes after us but were greeeted by the bartenders before us. We ordered a pizza. After 35 minutes, the bartender asked us if we were ready to order. When we inquired about the pizza, the bartender rudely asked, "what pizza" and then said, "Oh yeah, let me check on that." Twelve minutes later, the pizza came out. At that point, we had to use napkins because we did not have presets, condiments, or plates. The pizza was not compted and neither the "new" bartender, nor the manager, owned it or apologized. It wasn't that busy... The food was good but the service was horrendous. I'm a true New Englander and I can handle some boisterous personalities, but do not treat us like you are doing us a favor. Anyway, this "was" our place to go once a week. We will try back again in 6 months to see if the service has improved. We bought some Living Social coupons which will be given away as gifts.     This place is hit or miss most times. I've had some great pasta dishes in the past. The $5 pizzas on Wednesday were good, then got real bad for a period of time. I stopped going until a friend said they got a new chef and it was good again. Went tonight since the girlfriend was in the mood for pasta. I had Chicken Parm, she had Vegetarian Rigatoni. Both dishes were overcooked. A leather boot may have been more appetizing than the chicken which was burnt. The rigatoni was also overcooked. Like i said, hit or miss.

    1st time, received a GC for Xmas which I was happy about...until I got here. App: Antipasto, VERY little meat or cheese, NOT authentic at all, disappointing. We had veal & chicken parm...Veal was tough, I LOVE al dente pasta but still pasta was NOT cooked enough...Pasta sauce was like a can of tomato paste, how can you have a home made pasta place with AWFUL sauce? Not worth your time/$.

    I've had food from Nonni's twice now and both times I have been very satisfied. The first time my family got takeout from there and everything was delicious. I had a chicken pesto pizza and it was very good and had tons of chicken on it. The second time I went there I actually ate at Nonni's and it also good. The waitstaff was friendly but it took a while for our food to come out. Everyone got something different and it was all delicious. Also the prices are pretty reasonable and Sundays they have a special where all pizzas are $5. I will most likely be back but next time I want to try pasta from there. They make their pasta fresh and all the sauces. Someone at my table got chicken parmesan and they really enjoyed it.

    It's really horrible! I warn people not to go yet they try it because there is not any good Italian restaurants around. The pasta is absolutely tasteless. Their appetizers lack taste as well and most of their dishes just aren't good! Just save your money and stay away.

    Come here several times and month and we love it. They have cheap specials and deals every night of the week, so that is great. Some of the meals can be a bit pricey, but just getting the pasta dishes or pizzas are great. A perfect dinner I enjoy is the fried gnocchi appetizer, half a loaf of the Italian semolina, and either the cheese ravioli with pink sauce and a meatball, or a pizza with chicken, broccoli, and tomato! Yum!

    I come from an Italian family and had high hopes that Nonni's would satisfy my "Nonni's cooking" needs. Unfortunately, it wasn't great. Came on a Sunday around 2:30 for "dinner", and told the server it was my first time there. I would expect initiative from a good server to make me want to come back, after sharing that information with her. The service was not good. I wanted a glass of wine before my dinner and she didn't come over until our food was brought out -- though, she seemed to be serving the whole restaurant and bartending so maybe it's a staffing issue. The food was not fresh. We had overdone mozzarella sticks, under cooked margherita pizza with soggy tomatoes and brown shredded basil and their over cooked portobello mushroom special. The red sauce was decent though. I will say that. I was really bummed out because I've been wanting to come here but truly, all the negative reviews below are legit. I hope they figure things out.

    Just moved to town and saw reviews and thought it worthy of a try. Being a foodie, especially Italian cuisine I self admittedly have high expectations. Long story short, I ordered meat lasagna and a stuffed portobello mushroom w risotto for takeout. I got home salivating like a starved individual ( totally not the case, if you wonder) sit down to eat... First bite of mushroom..... It's white rice flavor was not risotto... Although the mushroom was nice.... There was absolutely no finesse, not spice, nor salt. Bland. Onto the lasagna this surely should be better....... First bite.... COLD! It had been prefabricated like most.... But had it been frozen? Refrigerated clearly but I can't imagine just how short this mush had been actually in the oven, if at all. I question that. Aside from it being cold.... 3-4 round slices of flavorless sausage.... No meat other than that. Basically pasta ( which was not al dente) cheese and sauce. Even Stouffers frozen lasagna is better , sadly. You should see me cringe as I type that. I can't say that there is anything drawing me back, I should have known when I couldn't even smell food after walking in. I just can't. Not one bit. #epicfail

    only gave 4 because waitress never said her name and my brothers wine glass had lipstick imprints on it. BUT, after that EVERYTHING was delish! we had the risotto balls n 2 meatballs (size of tennis balls) as apps. my sister & father had eggplant parm. my by other had veal (not a cutlet like Ma Raffas in somerset) my mom had spaghetti n meatball (only wanted 1) n I had boneless buff wings n onion rings which again everything was delish! will be back :)

    Eaten here maybe a dozen times over the past few years. Had some fine meals, but the last 2-3 times, the past six months, it's been pretty bad. Poor quality ingredients, overcooked, drowned in bad sauces. Worst tomatoes I've ever had, in the salads. Big portions but low quality. Waitstaff pleasant but slow. The pizza and pasta takeout, on the other hand, remains pretty good. The fresh pasta takeout would get five stars. From now on, I'll do that, and take it home to cook.

    It is what it is and what it is, is pretty darn good! Laid back, casual atmosphere with a comfy bar and some ambient lighting in the main dining room. Basic everyday Italian food that really hits the spot. You choose your pasta and then your sauce and you're good to go. Gnocchi with pink sauce sure was good and the Calamari appetizer was great but the marinara could've used a little more kick in terms of spice. Basic beer offering and a wine list more extensive than most places of this genre. They also had a plethora of other dishes including chicken piccata, eggplant parmesan and pizza to name a few. Not super fancy but it's the kind of place that you make of it what you want. If you want a cheap and tasty weeknight family dinner or if you want a more intimate yet affordable date night Nonni's will satisfy both.

    We were in RI for a pre-Mother's Day dinner, and my mother suggested checking this place out since she'd seen so much positive press about it. Turned out to be a really good choice. We called and made a reservation since there were six of us and we also needed a high chair. We got there and the table was all ready for us, so that was nice. I was pleasantly surprised to see that they brew their own beer. And not only do they brew their own beer, they sell it for a mere $2.25 per pint!! It was apparent I wasn't in Boston anymore... The mister, being a homebrewer himself, opted to try the brown ale and my bro-in-law got the other offering, a pilsner. I had iced tea, which was both freshly brewed and unsweetened. I was a little disappointed that they didn't have complimentary bread, but we ordered a half loaf of the focaccia so it turned out fine. The focaccia, which was thyme-flavored, was actually quite good. It was warm and tasty, and came with a dish of rosemary dipping oil. I ordered the mushroom ravioli (served in a gorgonzola sauce) and the mister got the eggplant parm. My mom got the Chicken Nonni, my sister got meat ravioli, and my dad and my bro-in-law both got pizzas. My ravioli were a bit overcooked and waterlogged, but were otherwise good. The eggplant was delicious (I stole more than one bite). I didn't have any of the other dishes, but everyone was really happy with their food. Service left something to be desired. Food and drinks took a long time to arrive, the waitress wasn't overly friendly or helpful. But hey, fresh pasta and house-made beer? You had me at hello.

    I really like this place. Their pizzas are good as well as most things on their menu. They also have a small shopping area where you can buy pastas and meals that only need to be put in the oven. The bar offers a great selection too.

    I am actually taking away a star for my meal last time I visited, because I thought with the new menu that they would have gotten better. However, my personal experience was not the best the last time. We were one of a couple people there (my mother, my brother and I) and we did something different this time by sitting in the bar. We played keno and asked each other questions from the trivial pursuit cards that are on all of the tables. Good thing we had those, because the food took a long while to come out, but we were in no hurry. My brother got something that he normally would get- the chicken parm sandwich, and my mother ditto- pepper and onion pizza. I on the other hand try something new for me- at least at this establishment. Cheese tortellini with vodka sauce and a salad. My mother and my brother's food came out looking great, but mine looked well... like puke. I put a picture up for the one person that is going to read this to see. The only reason it looked pukey was because there was way too much sauce. But because this is my favorite sauce, I didn't mind there was too much. I just wished that I got garlic bread instead of salad to mop some of it up. Also, it should be said, that because vodka sauce is my favorite, I am probably harder on them than the average bear, but it was honestly bland. Everyone else's food was fine, so I guess the moral of the story is not to order anything you have not tried yet there. Also, this experience will not prevent me from going there, ...OH and one more thing!!! What kind of Italian restaurant doesn't have fresh parmesean? I suppose that's being a little picky again, but it just seems to me that the neighborhood pizza joint does that sort of thing, not a sit down restaurant.

    There are two restaurants in this plaza. One makes their food with love, the other does not. Nonni's, unfortunately does not make their food with even a drop of love, and this makes me very sad because they're down the street and I've wanted to like them so badly. First of all, there is nothing "fresh" about the food at Nonnie's, and at this point in my multiple experiences, I'm actually afraid to eat anything on their menu. When I got spaghetti & meatballs, the spaghetti was so hard that I could barely even chew through it. Fresh pasta might take 5 minutes to cook al dente, but spaghetti that's been sitting out to dry would take a lot longer to be chew-able. Once I got the spicy rigatoni, which came with an alfredo the consistency of mayonnaise that was straight up disgusting. The first time I came, I was delighted by their risotto balls as an appetizer, but the next time I tried them, they were still frozen in the middle when they were served. Oh, but how about the salad? The lettuce was (thankfully) fresh, but the tablespoon of dressing stuck to the container like it had been in it for days or weeks. They also chopped up a paper towel, which came in with my lettuce (seriously). This last time, we ordered their chicken parm pizza, because it can't be too hard to ruin pizza right? Wrong. The pizza looked and tasted like it was made and cooked the day before, and then thrown into the oven to heat up. The chicken (and possibly veal too) was hard and transparent and the cheese was rubbery like day-old reheated cheese. Thankfully my boyfriend and I are finally committed to never eating here again so I'm not afraid to post how horrified I am by the food here. "Fresh pasta" is simply a marketing gimmick here. Whoever created the menu had food love in their heart, but whoever is cooking it couldn't give a damn what they're sending out.

    I went to Nonni's on Saturday evening with my Husband and two friends. The place was very charming. The staff were just as charming. My husband ate all of his eggplant. Thought it was delicious! I had spaghetti with mushrooms, spinach and roasted red peppers. It was fabulous! The other couple just Love Nonni's Chicken Marrsala! It is a great place to go. No wait, friendly staff, and above all the food is Great! This is a must go! The prices are very reasonable! If you are in the area, I strongly suggest stoping in. There is a little store there too. You can buy pasta etc. take out too. A hidden gem!

    Have eaten here several times. I think their homemade pasta is excellent. Unfortunately, their tomato sauce, gravy to us who grew up in Italian households, is underwhelming. They offer a half carafe of house chianti for $10 which is a great value. Their dishes are generally acceptable, but not outstanding. I suggest purchasing the homemade pasta and cooking it up with your favorite homemade sauce for a culinary delight! The atmosphere is casual and pleasant. There is a full bar and, of course, a small section that sells homemade and processed specialty items.

    Nonni's is a hidden gem. For a while, my boyfriend and I would go into the plaza where it's located and remark that we'd like to check it out. We, as other reviewers have mentioned, thought it was a little shop where you could buy pastas. When we wandered in one day we found out it has much more to offer. We've been here a total of three times; once before renovations were made to open up the dining room and twice after. Our first visit wasn't very memorable, but recently we really wanted some Italian food and didn't want to travel all the way to Providence or settle for Olive Garden in Dartmouth so we came in for a late dinner. Man were we impressed! The menu here isn't huge, but they do feature weekly special creations and they have all the classic standbys from chicken (or veal) parmesan and marsala to meat (and meatless) lasagna and a variety of pizza options. The drink menu features the standard wine selections and they have house brewed beer plus a fairly creative list of cocktails and martinis. For appetizers, we have tried the fried gnocchi basket (which comes either plain or with cajun spices) and the thyme foccacia bread (which comes with olive oil dipping sauce flavored with loads of chopped garlic, rosemary, and even some red pepper). Unlike other restaurants, bread doesn't come with the meal but prices are decent so springing a few bucks more for a basket won't break the bank. The fried gnocchi were absolutely delicious with some parmesan cheese sprinkled on top and oddly good when dipped in ketchup! The chicken marsala was not overly sweet and had a subtle flavor I could really appreciate, along with thinly (almost shaved in nature) mushrooms and chopped garlic galore. My boyfriend opted for the Shrimp Zuppa, which was on special, and consisted of a spicy-sweet red sauce with rigatoni and lots of whole shrimps cooked perfectly. I must note that all pasta is served al dente, which for some people is too firm, but you can request that they cook it a little longer if that's how you prefer. For dessert, we had a cannoli and the Irish Cream Bash cake. The cannoli was a bit disappointing (part of the reason why I gave this place a 4 instead of a 5), but the Irish Cream Bash cake was great. There was a chocolate crumb crust with pieces of white chocolate on the bottom along with chocolate shavings and fudge drizzle all over. It was a cross between a light cheesecake (in texture and flavor) with a hint of Bailey's. I had the Lynchburg Lemoncello during dinner and was not disappointed. It was a mixture of Jack Daniel's whiskey, lemoncello, sour mix, and some lemon-lime soda. My boyfriend opted for the classic White Russian, and they mixed it up well. The nice thing about Nonni's is that you can take home premade foods like lasagna or eggplant parmesan and more. They also sell their fresh pastas and breads. Overall this is a solid pick from a casual dinner or drinks with friends or even for a birthday dinner or graduation. The atmosphere and decor is just nice enough that it feels like a real treat no matter the occasion.

    Nonni's used to be one of our favorite restaurants however in the past year or so it has gone downhill. On our last visit my husband and I ordered the thyme focaccia which comes with rosemary herb oil. We were served a side of plain olive oil which was very disappointing. My husband ordered a seafood fra diablo dish and the mussels were awful. The service had always been borderline acceptable but the food made up for the lack luster service. We are sorry to say we probably won't be back

    Great pasta. The blackened chicken rigatoni was fantastic and the posts was perfectly al dente as it should be. The waitress overall was attentive. All of the fresh made pastas looked and tasted fantastic. The only thing I didn't like was the fried gnocchi but that was just a personal preference. I had the house pinot grigio and it was very good for for a house wine. The deserts were to die for and my wife loved the titanium. Will definitely return.

    Seems to be family run Italian joint with good intentions but less than perfect execution. The first thing that struck me about Nonnie's was the lack of atmosphere - pretty bland and almost too quiet in the restaurant - no classic white noise restaurant background music, just an eerie silence. Ordered some mussels which were excellent and the best thing I had there - highly recommended if you try Nonnie's. Oddly enough though, this is the first Italian restaurant I've been to where bread isn't automatically brought to the table - you have to ask for it. The service was great, but that didn't compensate for the mediocre to average entrees I tried - Lobster Ravioli and Mediterranean Pasta. I might try Nonnie's again at some point if I hear some good reviews and would love to hear what dishes other people tried.

    Nonnies has been located 5 minutes from my house for a couple years. I finally decided to try it one day on a hunch. Boy I'm glad I did. They use home made pasta, that they also sell by the pound. You can really taste the difference. The pasta sauce is some of the best I've tasted. In addition to that, the garlic bread is loaded with garlic and butter, and kicks you in the mouth with flavor. Nonnies has humble prices and good customer service. If you're ever in the area, stop at Nonnies. You won't regret it!

    07-2012 - Stopped by for dinner again. I think this is a solid establishment. I do need to reach for the salt for almost everything I get, but that's not a big deal. I've been happy with everything else. Nonni's is not pretentious and the people going there should likewise leave their pretentiousness at the door.

    Nonnis is probably a place that i'm sorry I hadn't tried sooner. For years I drove by and was under the impression that they were "just" a homemade noodle shop where you could buy raw/cooked pastas. I am elated that my husband and I discovered that they are much more than just a pasta shop!!! To my surprise they are actually a full scale restaurant. They have many authentic (when I say authentic I mean garlic, fresh cheese type of goodness) dishes that scream Italy!! We've tried a few of their dishes, and would have tried more if they were not closed on our most popular takeout day-Tuesdays. The lasagna was so delicious we licked our plates.... sounds gross but you would too!! The noodles were fresh, as well as the cheese and sauce--no prego here!!! The garlic bread was also so good, and fully loaded with huge chunks of garlic. The salad dressing and ravioli were also wonderful!! We ordered takeout and the portions were average, but quality!!! I would recommend you try it if you love garlic, cheese, and homemade sauce as much as we do!!

    We really wanted to like Nonni's and gave them multiple chances to get our food right in the dining room but rock-hard pasta seems to be the norm, with inconsistently good sauces (on the sweet side). Their lasagna is good but I'd just get take-out for that or get it next door when they have it which is just as good.

    What a joke of a restaurant. Ordered take out. Not only did they get the order wrong but it was awful. Called to speak to management and they could care less, the worst customer service I ever experienced. Will never set foot in that dump again.

    I agree with most of the other reviewers...I should have tried it sooner, I thought it was just pasta, etc. They are soon expanding so the restaurant will be a combination pub and seating, which is good, they are pretty small. I liked the quiet atmosphere to be honest, so that wasn't a problem for us. The gnocci were a little chewy and the garlic bread was barely toasted, but this was minor and can be corrected with our next visit, because we WILL be going back. I thought the wine prices were high, so I opted for the $5 martini's (til 6:30) and they were great. My hubby's lasagna was mouthwatering and not over-cheesed, had a strange combination of prosciutto, spinach and eggplant that really worked and was so good he ate it all! I had veal rustico, and over pasta instead of gnocci (had that as an app, didn't want it twice), and it was fabulous, the veal was delicate, the sauce was perfectly seasoned, and the noodles al dente. Want to try their pizza and another veal dish next time! Hope it stays quiet. I do feel bad for the empty Italian restaurant next door, they don't stand a chance!

    Regularly eat at Nonni's. Have made several purchases from the retail counter...such as their eggplant paarm. and Lasagna that have been very good. The times we have eaten at the restaurant we have also enjoyed very much. The atmosphere at the restaurant reminds us of some of the smaller Italian restaurants found in New York. The homemade raviolli is excellent and I am also a fan of the shrimp. Also, one of the best items continues to be the pizza. Regardless of the type of pizza, they offer probably the best pizza in their area. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone, and have sent many family members and friends here.
