I have adopted a new policy of waiting until I have three visits to any establishment before writing a positive review. I have been faked out for the last time. So here I am after 2 sit downs and a take out, prepared to give a huge thumbs up. I am not widely experienced with Vietnamese cuisine nor sophisticated enough to appreciate nuances, so I consider it a subcategory of "Asian" food to lumped together with Thai, Japanese, Cambodian, Chinese et al. Together they form a great reservoir of possibilities, allowing one to feel like they're eating healthy, deliciously and cheap. I digress. As for Pho Horn... Pho Horn IS NOT: 1) easy to find 2) fancy 3) expensive 4) boring 5) overcrowded Pho Horn IS: 1) friendly (almost to the point of discomfort.. I forgot people could be so nice) 2) diverse. The menu offers a wide range of options, making it easy to try something new without fear of making a bad choice. 3) delicious. Not OK.. Not decent... But delicious I wish Pho Horn would: 1) Diversify their beer assortment. You need a light beer. 2) Slow down a bit.. Seems like you're in and out in 15 minutes 3) Get that knob headed fish to stop staring at me. I give this place 4 stars because I never give 5. It doesn't qualify for "last meal on earth" status but I would want it in there somewhere in the last week or two.

Had lunch there with my family this past Saturday. Very nice. Place was filled to capacity so we waited our turn. Warm, nicely decorated, although there was still Christmas decorations up (including a tree near the door), but it was better than a bland wall. I had a rice noodle with shrimp and bbq pork, wife had rice noodle with egg roll, kids had pad thai, and two orders of spring rolls and one order of crab rangoon. One order of rolls was free from a coupon posted on Pho Horn's website. All items were hot, fresh and very tasty. Rice noodles cooked to perfection and bean sprouts were fresh and crisp. Shrimp had a nice BBQ flavor. BBQ pork was good, but minced, so not much. Wife had a Vietnamese Ice Coffee - very strong, but very good. Place is located in a kind of deserted shopping plaza. I guess there was a grocery store anchor there at one time, now just a bunch of small shops, including a African Buffet and a Applebee's. Plan to return when we need our fix of Pho - dish looked great based on servers passing by us taking Pho to other diners.

Tasty pho, but the broth is not a clear broth which is what I'm used to and it could have used more cilantro. That might just be me being picky, though. Fantastic service and overall a great place to satisfy my pho craving!

this Is a place you wouldn't just happen upon you have to be looking for it and I'm so glad I did.The Thai iced tea was like nothing I've ever had the beef pho with flank steak was truly amazing so many fresh flavors I'm glad I got the large. And the nim chow was incredible can't wait to go back. The waiter we had made us feel like we have known him forever.Just a great place for great food and service.

Wowww it's awesome here. Ordered xtra large pho. It tasted really good and they give you tons of meat compared to other places like minh hai

Great pho! We are regulars here. My wife is very picky with pho and this is the only place we will go for it!

Yelp is telling me I should write a review on this spot and I guess it's right. I'm the Duchess and I eat here a lot. The thing is, I don't think it's great, but it has the best pho in Rhode Island. That doesn't mean that it's awesome, but it's the best of what we've got. Other people I know love it. I just kind of feel like meh about it. You know though, when you have a hangover, pho just makes you feel better. I used to come here a lot when it was Hon's II. I can say it's gotten a lot better since then. The iced coffee is always good. Strong enough with a good mix of condensed milk. Whether you order the chicken or the beef pho, the broth is still the same. It's not too oily and has a decent flavor, but nothing earth shattering. They usually are not stingy with the sprouts, basil, lime and jalapeno which is good. The servers are nice. My husband likes the nime chow and my baby likes the coconut bubble tea. I also like the number one appetizer (crispy spring rolls I think), but I really like the little garnish noodles they include with it. It's pretty clean and the kids love to look at the giant goldfish that looks like it's having a brain hemorrhage. Overall, I'd say it's fine.

This is the best Vietnamese food I have had since moving to RI in 2011. I love Vietnamese food and now eat here on a regular basis- generally once every week or two. The Pho broth is amazing. I don't think I have had better anywhere, and I have spent considerable time searching. Every dish I have tried here has been very good, from the Pho to the dry noodle dishes to the Bánh Höi wraps. Staff is friendly and helpful, and the prices are quite reasonable.

I don't know why it has taken me so long to write a review for this place. I have been going here for my Pho and Bun fix for quite a while now. Extremely satisfying. Pho condiments are fresh and plentiful. Pho broth is heavenly and comforting. Service is usually pretty quick however sometimes it can lag a little depending on the day. The restaurants decor is pretty bare bones. A few random photos of Vietnam countryside. However the fish tank towards the front of the store houses the strangest looking fish I have ever encountered. And the best part is that if you place your hand up to the glass he will follow you! Such a charismatic fish, the icing on the cake for whenever I visit.

Another good restaurant for pho in this area. Walked in with a group of about 15 and we got seated right away! The plaza looked really dead though. Not sure if it's normally like this since we were here for vacation. The food tasted great and authentic. I ordered myself a bowl and WOW it was huge! I could barely finish it on my own. It must have been the extra egg roll and spring roll sides we got. My brother got their rice dish and said it was delicious. I guess it's hard to go wrong with asian food when it's just rice/meat or bowl of noodles.

Glad I finally made it here! I've been a huge fan of pho since I first tried it about a year ago and Pho Horns is LEGIT. I get regular pho with all of the good meat bits and this ranks up there with the best pho I've had in Boston. Those in Providence are pretty much limited to Horns or Pho Paradise down on Broad St. and I have to say after trying Horns, I probably won't be returning to Pho Paradise- (though the food is fine) The staff is very attentive, and despite being in a pretty empty strip mall in Pawtucket, the restaurant is very clean and comfortable as long as you don't mind a 5 year old Red Dragon fish staring you down. I tried the Vietnamese Crepe for the first time and liked it a lot- a great appetizer for 2. Their shrimp paste on sugarcane was good too, even if it wasn't as good as when I first tried it at Xinh Xinh in Boston. This definitely is going to be my new place for hangover recovering pho trips.

Love this place! I was introduced to this restaurant about 3 years ago, and I average a visit here anywhere from 2-5 times a month. This Vietnamese cuisine restaurant was built in an old D'Angelo's. You can tell by the tiling that still exists on the walls. I like the quick service and good prices. They always have SUPER FRESH sprouts which is a huge plus for me. I like 'em thick and crispy! I can't say enough great things about this place. I've eaten at alot of Pho places in LA and NY, but this one is the best!

The soups are great. Especially the rice chowder. Aside from that...the food is ok. A decent taste, but I find the noodle dishes to upset my stomach. MSG? Rancid oils? I don't know, but I won't be ordering anything other than soup here.

Pho horns is one of our quick asian food stops in RI. The pho is arguably the best (with pho paradise) is the area, though that is not saying much as there is no blow away pho in the state. The other items on the menu, such as the vermicelli, are always prepared quickly and have a nice amount of flavor. They also serve some nice beers by the glass which compliment the meal well. The service is always fast and friendly and the decor is your average vietnamese place decor: neon and flat screen tv. All in all you can do a lot worse for $15-20 for two people.

The first time I went to this place, I was hooked. Plus, they deliver. That is always a sure way to my heart! There vermicelli with spring rolls and/or pork is just amazing. The staff is super friendly and they make a mighty fine taro boba.

I just moved here from Oakland CA where there's tons of great Vietnamese food. I was really happy to find Pho Horn's to satisfy my craving- they are very friendly, the food is super fresh, cheap and delicious. I love the grilled pork, grilled shrimp, spring roll Bun (bowl of vermicelli noodles topped with veggies and the grilled meats), the Hue noodle soup (spicy porky version of Pho), the stir fries, the fried rice (great combo with chinese sausage) the drinks, the summer rolls- in fact, everything I've had here has been great. My wife has plenty of vegetarian options to choose from, and it's pretty much my go to place. Pho Horn is so much better than Apsara which is insanely crowded, more pricey and not authentic or that tasty (IMHO)- the location is a bit drab, but it's safe and adequate, and once you're inside, you won't know you're in an abandoned strip mall behind an abandoned bowling alley...

Mmmm, this place makes me pho horny. I'm not sure about the reasoning behind the name, but the simmering, basil flavored pho induces an animal sort of lust that makes you want to consume bowlfuls without stopping. Don't forget that there's plenty of top of the line vietnamese cuisine as well. From the spring rolls to the more complex gravies, you wont go unfulfilled. Hard to be disappointed here.

  • Thommee H.

Our new "go to" Pho restaurant in Rhode Island! Pho is all about the broth, and Pho Horn's broth is outstanding. It has good depth and complexity, and was seasoned just right. Combine that with the tang of fresh lime juice, the perfume of the Thai basil, and the crunch of the bean sprouts -- Heaven! My kids had Pad Thai, which was OK. The fried Spring roll and fresh Summer roll were very good. The pan fried gyoza (I think they called it a "ravioli") was mediocre to poor though, bland, nondescript filling with a soggy, gummy, too thick wrapper. Went again recently (January 2012) and am happy to say that the Pho is still as blissfully wonderful as ever....

I think the food is good. The staff is attentive. My only feeling is that the prices have been going up. $10 for a the XL bowl of Pho seems a little much.

After patronizing Pho Horns a half dozen times or so, I feel bad having given it 3 stars. The food is good, inexpensive, and the staff is accommodating and friendly. Definitely 4 stars.

Was shocked to discover Rhode Island had truly authentic Vietnamese food. Let me say that I am an expert when it comes to Vietnamese food. Have eaten pho and other Vietnamese food from Los Angeles New Jersey. Pho Horn has one of the best Pho around and the best "Bun Bo Hue" I've ever eaten. Their pork chop dish is amazingly tender and delicious . Egg rolls are descent but I've had better in Alhambra CA. Also their "Hu tieu nam vang" is also very yummy. I've eaten here 4 times within a two week period. Highly recommend this place . Food is awesome and the staff is extremely nice.

I came here this evening with my boi and my first impression was that this place looked like a pizza parlour, heard that it's been converted, so maybe that is why. They had a huge goldfish in a fish tank which was really cool to see. I was so hungry when we got there that looking at the fish actually made me hungry. We ordered a lot of things (two of us): goi cuon (fresh spring rolls), vietnamese crepe (banh xeo), bun thit nuong cha gio - vermicelli with crispy spring roll and grilled chicken, and an XL pho tai (beef noodle soup), and a lychee bubble tea, which was too sweet for my tastes, and the taro beads were too hard and crumbles easily (not bouncy, gelatinous and soft enough) but flavorful. Service was really good, our waitress was very friendly and nice. No complaints there. Now on the taste of the food - the goi cuon was pretty good (but it's kind of hard to mess up goi cuon - btw some people call it nime chow - I don't because this is a vietnamese restaurant, not cambodian restaurant and I honestly have never heard of that word till I moved to RI, so it's a RI thing)- OK back to the food - so the fish sauce was really good here. The Viet crepe was good and yummy as well, although my bf felt as though there were too many bean sprouts in it. However the broth of the pho was VERY bland, almost tasted like water, they did give us a lot of beef though (which pho paradise doesn't). The beef was a bit too hard and well done for me. THe broth at pho paradise is much much tastier/more delicious. I had to put in a lotttt of salt and it just tasted like crap. The vermicelli chicken dish was alright too. Overall I think the taste of the viet food at pho paradise is better, although they make better clear sauce (fish sauce) here. I think I'll be coming back to pho paradise instead even though the ambience here is much better. This place seems to get more business as well. I was slightly underwhelmed by the two main dishes here, so it gets two stars. The broth of the pho was just sooo wrong that I can't seem to give it another star. Sorry pho horn! Maybe they had an off day??? I don't know. Might give them another try in the future, we'll see.

Fantastic pho, noodles are springy and fresh, broth is flavorful (a little sweet). Sprouts and basil also fresh and plenty, fresh summer rolls particularly tasty, five-star worthy. The staff are very friendly and nice, but a little inattentive, hence the four stars.

I have been going here for a while now and figured it was time to write a review. At first I came here just for the beef noodle pho (which is amazing). Last night my wife and I decided to try a bunch of stuff off the menu. We ordered shrimp fried rice, pork fried dumplings, the fried shrimp paste, crab rangoons, bbq spare ribs, and some free spring rolls they had a coupon for. Everything was really good, the shrimp were devained and clean, the sauces tasty. I would def reccomend this place although they get 4 stars for the pho beef noodle soup alone. It's really good though if you are not going to get the pho you might be better off at Apsara on Hope St.

I was in the area and needed to grab a bite for lunch. I knew there was a plaza nearby so I went in search of some grub. I had a choice between Chili's and Pho Horns. I am adventurous so I chose Pho's. The plaza is almost dead, the big anchor stores are pretty much gonzo. Don't let that deter you from this fine Vietnamese restaurant. The restaurant has plenty of seating. I was seated at a booth and given a menu. The menu is in Vietnamese with English subtitles and descriptions. I ordered the spring rolls for an appetizer. They are delicious, classic Vietnamese rolls. Pork, carrot, onion, garlic, etc in a wrap deep fried. You get 2 rolls with a side of clear sauce and some veggies. I also ordered a vermicelli noodle plate with beef. It came out in a huge bowl. The noodles are on the bottom and the components to the dish are arranged in the bowl for you to manage. Lettuce, bean sprouts, mint, beef, a spring roll cut up, and a side of clear sauce. This was a large meal and very very tasty. I envy the Vietnamese for having such a healthy and delicious diet. I also had a coconut bubble tea. Delicious again. My bill came to like 19.10, I left a 4.90 tip to total out at 24 bucks. I will definitely be going back to Pho's and recommend it to anyone.

Great Pho at good prices in a bare-bones space. Pho Horn's is located close to our office, so it's a perfect lunch spot. The Pho broth has lots of flavor and the soup comes out lightning fast!

Best Vietnamese restaurant in RI ... I love their Pho... Best thing to eat to cure a hangover .,, the nime chow is made fresh with their flavorful hoison/peanut sauce.. the marinated pork chops or beef is also good with a side of there dipping sauce... The food is worth it for the cheap prices given .. 5 stars overalll oh yeah don't forget to try their bubble tea!!

  • Chris P.

All the requirements of a good pho place - clean, huge fish tank (they actually have two!), random location in a mostly-vacant strip mall in shadyville, RI. But the pho is pretty effing amazing. $6.25 will get you a small bowl and $6.95 for a large. If you happen to be in the area, it's worth a stop. It's better than my normal spot, but unfortunately not that much better to warrant going that far out of my way.

  • Rebecca F.

I've been twice now and though I really want this place to be my go-to-pho place I just can't get over the service. Terribly slow and inattentive... you have to go here with an hour to spare, and pre-eat because even the apps won't get to you soon enough to prevent your hypoglyemic shock. The thing to try here is the shrimp paste on sugar cane, which is possibly the strangest thing I've ever eaten. Not sure I'm a fan. But the other appetizers we've tried have been great. And the pho is amazing. Really. Flavorful, perfect broth, tasty noodles, herbs and veggies. So it's a shame that they make you wait so long for it. They know you need it and there's nothing you can do about it.

Yummy yum yum. I've been absolutely dying to find a good, inexpensive and casual place to grab Vietnamese food on the go since I moved to RI.. especially some place convenient (believe it or not, my fiancee and I tend to back away from risking our lives on the road just to go downtown). Pho Horn's charming points are all of the above. The food is delicious and fresh, their menu is large and the presentation is cute to say the least. I love the tasty pickled veggies and at 7.95 or a huge pork chop plate, my wallet isn't going dry. While my favourite dish of all, the Bun Thit Nurong be seemingly simple and effortless (veggies, herbs, peanuts, meant of choice on chilled noodles), I've tasted quite many fiasco's: Horn's take on it is basic, delicious and fresh! I cannot even describe how filling and tasty my seven dollar and fifty cent meal was. The service was speedy and terrific: I'm usually cramped for time at around 45 minutes for my lunch break but unlike my experiences at places like Chili's and Gregg's, I was actually able to sit and enjoy my meal instead of shoving it down and making a run for it thanks to their prompt and attentive service. Might I also add, they have a great selection of drinks. Feel like boozin it up? They gotcha covered. Feel like rancid stink breathe? They even have Durian bubble tea! I absolutely love this joint and my fiancee and I have concluded this will officially become our Thursday lunch stop. Definately check it out if you're ever in the area. Everything from the atmosphere, service and food are A+.

I don't know anything about Vietnamese food and know less about Pawtucket. Checked this place out last night and went with a buddy who knows Vietnamese food and wouldn't stop talking about some place called Pho Pasteur in Boston. Based on the location (sketchy strip and quality of food, my best guess is this is three star Vietnamese food.

A little hard to find in a hidden shopping plaza, but worth the sojourn. I was looking for something other than traditional bar and grill while traveling solo in Providence. (before i lived near Providence.) So many options for something different. Ambience is nothing fancy, but staff was great and food was awesome. Definitely satisfied my desire for hot and spicy.

I like Vietnamese food but I am not one that would crave it. But after having pho here, I now think about pho once a week. This is a down to earth place without much deco but served authentic Asian food. I had the Beef Noodle Soup with sliced steak and tripe and I loved it. I am a noodle junkie, esp when they are in broth. I love the broth and that was how I know it is good. Most "western" or European food are all about their sauce, the same goes for the broth of Asian food. The sliced steak did not have much fat to it, so it may become a bit chewy, as least for me. The tripe was good and I am surprise to find it in the States in good quality. The noodle is my favourite kind - it is a thin white flat rice Vietnamese noodles, which is one of the reason that I keep thinking about it. I had the large bowl and came to realized that the texture of the noodles changed before I can finish it, which I admitted I used too long to finish it. And I know the same situation goes for all kinds of noodles in a broth, so it is nothing against Pho Horn, just that I need to order a small one!

Pho Horns is a great Vietnamese restaurant. They are Vietnamese owned and very authentic. I grew up in California where Vietnamese food is abundant so when I first moved to Providence it was very hard to find a good place. It is the closest you will get to good and consistent food. Go there for the chicken salad or pho tai!

There aren't many good Asian restaurants in Providence so when I drove by this place in a strip mall I actually was interested. The second time by I stopped in and was blow away by the soup, the amazing Vietnamese muzak and and homey feel of the place. Last XMas the owner wrote out (by hand) little thank you notes to his customers. I have two. Support this restaurant, they have a tough location in the plaza that Shaws abandoned. Get the chicken teriaki, the Vietnamese hot coffee and a bowl of pho. The regular stuff is so good I never even look at the specials menu, although I should.

One of my favorite spots for Pho in the ocean state. They have one soup with these little quail eggs in it, mmmmmmmmmmm. My daughter likes it here because they have two fish tanks, one that duplicates Finding Nemo. I'm also very fond of their fried spring rolls and summer rolls.

My girl and I eat here at least 1 or 2 times a month. We've had our streak of eating here once a week in the past but have been lazy and stayed local when we didn't feel like eating in. We usually order the same food, 8/10 times they're pretty consistent, the food is great here, high quality and most dishes are made to perfection. I prefer this place over most Asian restaurant in Providence. I've never tried the Pho here, usually go for the fried calamari, fish soup, and Mee Ka Tung. their Mee Ka Tung are the best here in Rhode Island for those who do not know (fried flat rice noodles with assorted veggies and your choice of meat if any at all).

My favorite place to get a bowl of pho. The food here is fresher and better than some of the other vietnamese/pho places around providence (how is their basil always so green and fresh??) This is my go-to place for cheap but delicious food and I always feel much happier afterwards. The location is kind of sketchy, but I've never had a problem before.

Walked down from the Met before a show to get some pho. Started with the steamed dumplings which were unremarkable - we were hungry tho' and they let us concentrate on the menu, which has a lot of interesting choices. We ordered the fresh veggie rolls next. These were nice and fresh-tasting. The accompanying dipping sauce was sort of gooey but we added some sriracha to liven it up. Then we ordered a chicken with rice noodle pho, and #28a spicy beef with lemongrass pho. My friend had a cold and loved the chicken pho, great noodles and broth. My spicy beef pho had a rich tasty broth with plenty of chunks of tender beef, noodles, and yummy cilantro. We asked for extra spicy and received a side of chili sauce that was flavorful but a little less spicy than we liked. Aso - a table next to ours ordered the whole flounder, which looked great. Overall - friendly service and a decent but not exceptional meal.

I am not so sure why this place is called Pho Horn's but... The noodles are tender and the soup delicious. There is plenty of meat in the pho... It truly is authentic Vietnamese food. My husband and I ate ate a very filling lunch for under fifteen dollars!!! I am definitely coming back here!

Being a pho lover i like to try out different pho restaurants. This place has some really good pho however the cost is more than most places i have een and the portion is ok. The bubble tea was good also. The crab rangoon was good but my mother didnt like the summer rolls. Service was ok. I give it four starz bc i would go back for pho.

I must make a distinction between cheap and inexpensive: This place is by definition Cheap!!!! For about $9 and change, I got a bowl of Pho (beef brisket and tendon) and a taro bubble tea. When the Pho came, along with the fresh veggies I was upset (inside). I am used to having a lot of fresh veggies (limes, basil, cilantro, and hopefully other viet veggies) but I got a spartan plate of mostly sprouts, and very little basil and some pepper. So, I smartly asked the waitress if they specialized in Northern Viet cooking (which uses no veggies at all) -she had a very sour and puzzled look on her face. Usually, when the Pho comes, the smell alone causes a GI reaction that stimulates salvation- in this case I had none. But I tried it anyhow. I always start by adding Hoisin sauce mixed with Srichai sauce inside the Pho. What I first experienced was horrible: they watered down the Hoisin! How low can you get in the cheap dept? I reluctantly ate my pho, so here is the roundup: 65% water 30% noodle 5% meat/tendon (I am being generous) The best part of my meal was the taro bubble tea. Again, they were cheap. It was served in a cup that would piss off an anorexic 3rd grader!

I would recommend this restaurant to anyone. the food is wonderful with unique flavors and the freshness is unbeatable, the Pho is is truly delicious in the traditional Vietnamese preparation and the servings are generous. It is very accessible from the highway. the atmosphere is great. The price is very reasonable, lunch for two was under $20.00. I will definitely come back again.

The food is SO FRESH. My only regret is that it took me so long to visit here - the plaza leaves some to be desired but the food will bring you right back. The bubble tea (had the coconut) was positively delicious. The only downfall I can mention is that I left smelling like some of the sizzling entrees that a neighboring table ordered; not terrible since it smells good buy FYI for the sensitive noses.

You know you are in the right place when most of the customers are Asians. And yes the Pho was one of the best I have ever had. I modified it adding extra noodles, tofu and squid. They have a great beer selection of Asian beers so I ordered Singha which I haven't had in a long time. Appetizer were fresh shrimp rolls which were ok, have had better and chicken wings which were nice and crispy and not at all greasy. To top it of the service was friendly and very attentive. Coming from NYC I always find it amazing how one finds the best restaurants in the middle of nowhere... envy the locals for this establishment. Will certainly eat here again when I am back in the area.

Girlfriend and I just moved to Pawtucket, not far from this place. We figured since we frequent the Ocean State next door, we would give this place a go. We were not disappointed! Their beef noodle bowls are insane here. Huge portions, fresh ingredients, well seasoned, and most importantly, not over salty (huge plus for soups). If you are starving, you won't leave this place feeling cheated for $11. Full stomach and a full wallet afterwards. Only reason I am giving this place a 4 and not 5 is 2 small reasons: 1. The service here is a bit off, but I didn't expect much considering it's just a small Vietnamese place with a low price. However, I do feel that people should have not to wait 5-10 minutes before someone just asks if we want some water. As well, I don't feel like anyone should have to wait 10-15 for 1 water refill considering the glasses are small. Not the end of the world though. 2. The staff should be able to distinguish between Jalapenos and Habanero peppers. The both has very distinctive levels of spice and taste. I did NOT enjoy my mouth being destroyed half way through my meal, finding out I placed fresh Habanero peppers seeds and all in my soup, and not Jalapenos.

Located in a quiet strip mall, the outside is nondescript, the inside equally so. I was so happy to see a decent plate of soybean sprouts, lime, basil, and jalapeño slices brought out. Even happier when I tasted the pho broth when it came! I had an excellent, authentic bowl of pho! The broth could have been a bit hotter, the meat slices thinner and better quality, but overall, really good!! I also tried some clear vermecelli in a Cambodian broth, pretty good as well. The avocado shake was good, a tiny bit too sweet, the bubbles were ok texture. They give you a tiny little piece of candy at the end.

I still think the pho here is very average, 3 stars for that. The top 10% of all pho places I've been to make their pho as consommé, not just broth. Pho Horn doesn't cook down their soup long enough nor take those extra steps to make consommé like my favorite pho houses I've been to in NoVA, New Orleans and other cities that have large Vietnamese communities. Then again, you can't get really good restaurant pho in Boston either and the non-pho items at Pho Horn have gotten better with the cook changes over prior years. I'll be back more often for non-pho items because of the improvements. Other than the food, the restaurant itself is clean but tired looking and the service staff is excellent--some of the waiters I've had seem to have a photographic memory of the menu offerings and can more often than not recall items by the menu numbers. Overall, this hole in the wall is one of the better Vietnamese spots I've found in RI.

    - overall rating: 3.5 - very affordable - one of my favorite restaurants in the providence area - recommend: beef pho (meat on the side so it doesn't overcook), vietnamese coffee (it tastes like melted coffee ice cream), summer rolls, spare ribs - I haven

Ok here is the skinny on Pho Horns. It is so mind blowingly tasty. I have to admit the location could be better...its in a run down strip mall next to a Chilis that looks like it has had better days. However it is so worth the trip and here is why.... The Pho was fantastic. I got the one with beef and lemongrass. First spoonful danced around on my tastebuds and made them so happy with just the right combo of savory, acidic, and hot. I love the onion, beef, and shrimp balls. They also give your all the traditional fixings like beansprouts, thai basil, jalapeños, and lime. Honestly most places I find myself adding lime, hot sauce, and whatever I can find to give it umpfff. But at Pho Horns today all I added were some bean sprouts, a little thai basil, and a squirt of lime and I don't even know how necessary that was. That is how good the broth is! We also got the nime chow with a delicious peanut sauce and some bubble tea which had nice balls. Ok so I guess my rant is over now. Over and out.

Food is very good. The pho dishes always come with lots of well prepared meats. I highly recommend 28A! One of the traditional beef specials! Definitely a hole in the wall type of place but u won't be disappointed by the food. The decor is a bit disco, interestingly

Amazing broth. I'm kind of a pho addict and I've had pho from a lotttttt of places. This one is top notch. I took away one star for the ingredients though. Meat was very tough and there was literally 1 small strand of tripe in my pho dac biet. No meatballs either which normally comes in the specials. Oh well, the broth itself was worth it!

The food here was phenomenal, the best I have had in the area. We ordered the crispy spring rolls, pho, bubble tea, and thai iced tea. Everything was great, but the pho is the real winner. It really is just so tasty. Service, while friendly, was slow, even on a slow Wednesday with only two other customers in the restaurant. Waiters had walked by us a few times quickly without any eye contact so that was a little annoying. Also, I absolutely hate the decor in this place. It looks like an old, dirty converted sock hop diner or something. Tiles, mirrored walls, neon signs, and dirty looking walls. It's also pretty dark. It's a shame because it was really hard for me to enjoy my food in a place that kinda grosses me out to be honest. I'm not a prude but, the ambiance here really bugged me. If I was rating based on the food alone, it would absolutely be a 5. But service needs work, and it really needs a makeover. I may return because the food is so good and definitely the best I have had in the area, but it really is the decor that is keeping me away. Whenever I crave pho I find myself opting for other places that won't make me gag, even though the food is not as tasty.

Came across this place randomly while out shopping in RI. Its tucked away so if you pass by quick and arent paying attention you will miss it. Cozy spot, bigger inside than what it appears from street view. Clean, reasonably priced. I have searched all over the taunton, ma and ri area for a good chicken pho and i finally found it! It was delicious. Served nice and hot, all the toppings were provided and server was prompt. Def going back when i crave this soup again! Portions were very large for the pho so get the small bowl lol

The servers here are really courteous, which is quite pleasant. I ordered the seafood pho per our main server's recommendation. The squid, shrimp, and other seafood bits were hard, chewy and overcooked, but they broth was amazinggg!! My friend found a string of paper in her soul and it killed her appetite :(. Idk i'd still go back :p The ambiance is casual with greasy floors and a somewhat small space. ..Yet my meal was so satisfying I still dont really care :)

After reading the rave reviews, I had to try Pho Horn's. Since it was a hot day, I opted for a cool dish, in this case #30 Banh Hoi Thit Nurong (forgive the lack of accents). This was a technical dish in that one has to be able to build your own roll using rice paper that one must first dip into hot water. It took me a bit of effort, but it was well worth it. At lunch on Sunday, the place was jammed, so I didn't begrudge the wait staff for the lack of refilling of the water. Glad I hadn't ordered anything too spicy, though! All in all, a great meal for not much money!

I've been here many times, often with big groups . Although the food can be good, one of the head waiters (older gentleman)!can be quite grouchy when obtaining orders. He can be quite blunt and sometimes even rude. The other staff are generally nice. The other unfortunate thing is their men's bathroom had no soap and no paper towels! This does not reflect very well on the hygiene of the establishment (after all, we are talking about food folks!). Last but certainly not least, I wish the restaurant would have vegan options clearly identified in their menu. Many restaurant goers are becoming more fastidious with gluten sensitivities as well as being vegan or vegetarian . I hope this restaurant can keep up with the times!!

Pho - #20, with meatballs, extra greens on the side...comes out steaming hot. Add a bit of hoisin, a lot of sriracha and enjoy. I used to get pho every Sunday after gym, I swear it was perfect. I feel like recently the taste of the soup changed a bit - but it could be me. I am not entirely sure. I have been on Soft Tofu Chigae and udon binge. I tried other food, aside from pho here - but honestly liked nothing but the Pho. They make good Pho - so stick to that. When I get takeout, 3 out of 4 times they forget either noodles, or bean sprouts or the greens. Now I always check before I drive away.

The food is very good. My husband and I were both very pleased with our meals. The service was good and the food came out quick. And the prices are definitely fair for all of the food you get. We will definitely be coming here again!

Hands down the best hangover cure after putting in a hard night's work of fist bumping and raging. You can forget artery clogging pizza or burgers... I'm a pho-king fanatic and have been coming to Pho Horn's at least once if not twice a week ever since I moved to the area. The price can't be beat for the quantity and quality. I like my pho simple/clean so I mix it up between the chicken or beef broth (meat on the side). The broth is always piping hot and the noodles are perfect al dente texture that cooks a bit more with the bean sprouts and basil. The broth could be a bit more flavorful but I tend to add in hot chili oil with some hoisin and sriracha on the side. Besides the pho, I would highly recommend the Sizzling Beef. Amazing sweet/spicy marinated slices of steak with grilled onions that melt in your mouth. The dish literally comes out to your table smoking hot. No joke, I'm salivating as I write this... For appetizers I've had the fried spring rolls, fresh summer rolls, and dumplings which were good but nothing special. Insider tips: For the best experience, I would avoid peak dinner hours as the wait staff (awesome people) gets overburdened and may take a while to get your order and won't check up on you as much. And lastly, my 2 rules: 1) Never, ever get your pho to-go!!! - it's just not the same when you don't have the right bowls and chopsticks 2) Don't drown your pho in hoisin and sriracha...makes me sad to see this happen all the time. Why not just order a bowl of hot water and squirt in the sauces next time? Overall, I'm glad I live close-by and can easily get my weekly pho-fix. Cheers~

The good reviews are spot-on in terms of my first experience. Found this place via Yelp and ordered according to recommendations. Glad we did. My boyfriend and I split two appetizers- the shrimp/sugar cane thing (#7) and the tofu triangles (#14). Both were pretty good. The peanut sauce for the tofu was outstanding. For main courses, we ordered soups-- the much recommended beef and lemon grass pho (#28) and the seafood vermicelli variety (#26). My guy really liked the beef pho and I dug the seafood version with a much thinner broth (I added sriracha and lots of the condiments- bean sprouts, jalapenos, lime). The ambience is lacking but it's busy enough to not notice. Some Yelpers complained about service but we had no problems. At two points in the meal a server checked on us and food came in a very timely fashion. We were there on a Friday at 7. The bill for two (no booze) was just under $40. This place should not be overlooked as an affordable and delicious experience :)

Really great food! I got pho and my fiancé got a variety of appetizers. Everything was yummy! He especially loved the spring rolls and I enjoyed the scallion pancakes with my beef pho. Service was very impressive for the first half of the meal, we were greeted immediately, seated and promptly had drinks and our orders in. Surprisingly, getting and paying for the bill took forever but we were still happy customers.

Love this place, food is great. 28a is my favorite. Summer roll is good too. I come to this place once a week and still love it. The reason I do give them five star because the water glass there was not clean sometimes. Feel bad, but still love this place.

I've only had pho once before in my life in a Vietnamese pho restaurant in Arlington, VA back in the day when I lived in DC. Don't remember much about it, other than that it was very greasy, and I was not impressed. Now, today, however is a whole nuther story! Today, I found myself in this nondescript 70's-era nearly defunct (I'm exaggerating) strip mall having had an appointment in the nearby medical building. I remembered reading other Yelpers yelps about Pho Horn's, and since it was a freezing cold snowy day and I had exactly one half hour to have lunch and depart for my next appointment, pho sounded like a great idea. Turns out, it really WAS! The young handsome and extremely helpful waiter, (Joe), realizing I was relatively new to pho, (pronounced FAH, by the way) guided me through the menu to be sure I got what I liked. I ended up having the #25 (pretty sure that's what it was) which was a bowl of steaming hot delicious soup with thin slices of flank steak, some shrimp which I requested even though it was not part of this particular dish, noodles on the bottom of the bowl, accompanied by a plate of fresh bean sprouts (mung, I believe), a big bunch of fresh basil and some lime. I put the sprouts and lovely basil in to the bowl, squeezed in the lime and added four drops of some sriracha sauce that was on the table. (I am not a heat lover, but I do enjoy a tiny bit). I also removed the hot pepper slices from the bowl just in case one might slide onto my spoon and into my mouth! The pho was absolutely delicious -- the "small" bowl that I had, I thought, was large enough to serve two - I'll let you be the judge of that - but I could barely finish the small bowl. Did I say it was DELICIOUS??? It really was and I cannot wait to go back and try more menu items when I have more time to peruse the menu. It was such a perfect lunch for this cold snowy day. This IS a weird location. It is, (as any RI'er will tell you) in "the OLD Shaw's Plaza". There's Chili's there too. It is off Pawtucket Avenue, blink once and you'll be on Providence's North Main St. (Where Sears used to be!!). My lunch came to $9.95! Well worth the trip even if you don't need any of whatever else they're selling in that shopping center! If you are a fan of pho, I seriously recommend you give Pho Horn's a try! :-). I SERIOUSLY CANNOT WAIT TO GO BACK!

I had the seafood pho and it was incredible! The XL is ridiculously huge - there was no way I could have possibly finished it. It was loaded with fish balls and all the usual good stuff. The Crab Rangoon appetizer was also waaaay better than I anticipated - they honestly might have been the best crab rangoons I've ever had (and I consider myself to be a crab Rangoon enthusiast). It is 100% worth the trip to a less than desirable location for the amazing pho and bubble tea.

HANDS DOWN THE BEST PHO IN RI!!! This compares to the west coast pho I'm used to. The broth has the perfect balance of sweet and salty, not overbearing with any spices. Their iced Thai tea is the nectar of the gods as well. The service is a little slow occasionally, but I will come for the pho more than the hospitality.

I love Pho more than ever. My obsession is getting ocncerning. The greatest of the great (so far): Small #20 with steak on the side Nime Chow Combo Vermicelli bun with chicken The beef teriyaki is sooo good and fresh, scallion pancakes, crab rangoons alll amazing. Avocado bubble tea is my favorite. I could eat this food literally every single day of my life.

The place is solid. I'm always please. Spring and summer rolls are always a hit. Crispy quail makes me happy. But we came for the Pho! Crispy mung bean sprouts, spicy green peppers, basil and your utensils come first. Tempting you;-) Extra crispy wings came next this time with a sweet dipping sauce. The Pho stock is beef, wonderfully seasoned, perfectly textured noodles, clean tripe, delicate tendon, flank and brisket. Fat and lean... Great textures in a symphony. The service can be weird.... But I'm pretty weird too. It's my happy place for Pho in RI.

This place has some really good soup. I went there today with my kids for lunch. My daughter had the beef and broccoli from the lunch special menu. It was the perfect portion for her. She finished her whole plate which is unusual for her. My son had the #19, which had beef and tripe. I ordered the shredded chicken pho which was so good. The broth was just filled with flavor. I added a bit of chili paste to give it a little kick and I thoroughly enjoyed my lunch. We also had the scoopy shrimp. I didn't see it on the menu but saw pictures of it on Yelp so I was glad to know to order it. The service was also really good. We were greeted when we came in. It was about a 5 minute wait. Our waitress was really sweet and got us everything we needed. Overall, a really good lunch.

This place is a hidden gem! We went on a busy Wednesday night and upon walking in were greeted and seated next to the cool fish tank. This place isn't much to look at but you'll forget all about that the foods so good! We ordered some steamed dumplings which were delicious. We also got the pancake appetizer which was more like an omelette but stuffed with veggies and really crispy outside, totally delish. We both got a small Pho which was flavorful and filling, and a Thai style rice which was unlike any rice I've ever had- so so good! The portions are big we had leftovers for lunch the next day. The servers are friendly and fast! This will for sure be a regular spot for us! Can't wait to bring friends back to try delicious Pho.

This place does pho right. Until moving to RI in 2014 I had never had a bad bowl of pho in any other city I have lived or visited, the range was always acceptable to extraordinary, my first few bowls proved bad was possible. Then this wonderful place in a run down shopping center with decorations that have not changed since my first visit entered the scene. Again, they do it right. Always good, service can be a bit hit or miss, but you get your food or check eventually... and the other items on the menu are great as well (mostly sampled from others, all about the pho).

Best Vietnamese food that I've found in Providence (perhaps in Rhode Island.. because I've tried a few places in Cranston too). And this is coming from a Vietnamese San Jose, CA transplant. I am so glad I don't have to wait to go home to get authentic vietnamese food anymore. Surprisingly though, the best thing on their menu isn't their pho. Here are a few hidden gems: #29. Banh Hoi Thit Nuong. For those who haven't had it - banh hoi is a meshwork of delicious rice noodles that is topped with scallions and peanuts. It's served with thit nuong, basically a grilled meat of your choice (mine is pork), and a heaping side of salad and traditional mints. The best part is this entire entree also comes with rice paper that you can make spring rolls with. This entree can be shared amongst two. #16. Goi Tom (shrimp) or Goi Ga (chicken) Essentially a Vietnamese ceviche- it's cabbage, cucumbers, carrots, and mints with your choice of shrimp or chicken in a delicious tangy sauce and 4 rice crackers to accompany/sop up the delicious flavors. #15. Chao (Rice chowder with your choice of meat). This is literally the Vietnamese version of chicken noodle soup. If you're feeling under the weather, this is the thing to get. Overall, a great place for pho. And for those who are looking to expand, there are many other delicious, authentic options to try!

A decent pho spot tucked away in a random strip mall. I'd been here once before with a bunch of friends, but felt like I needed to give it one more go before writing a review. I'm by no means an expert when it comes to Vietnamese food, but I've eaten my way around the state a bit and feel like I can make an educated opinion now. The first time I went, I got a spicy pho that I really liked and it was a huge portion for very cheap. When I went today, I ordered a meatball pho that was just alright. The broth was very light but tasted great after I added some sauce and herbs. The meatballs though were SO underwhelming. They were totally bland, and had a weird, chewy texture. I was not a fan. I've recently had amazing meatballs at another pho spot, so I was incredibly sad with what Horn's had to offer. I also tried the summer rolls with shrimp, which were excellent. They were a good sized portion for the price and came with a really delicious peanut sauce with a dollop of chili sauce in the middle. The shrimp inside was really fresh and juicy, and the vegetables were fresh and crisp. The lychee bubble tea was great, but the portion was so tiny for $3.50, and much of the boba was too big to fit in the straw. The service was great, even when it got busy. The service all works together and they really keep an eye on everything going on, so you'll never be without water or trying to flag someone down... they're right there. It was all male waiters working both times I went, and both times the younger guys were much more friendly and chatty. I'm sure I'll be back... where else can you get a massive bowl of soup for $5!?

The best Vietnamese food is always hidden in a dingy plaza. The decor looks like it was once a pizza parlor. I think this is a great 3rd date spot so you can learn if your potential beau is a snob that actually lacks a refined palate (does that make me a snob if I say refined palate?) Best vegetarian Hot and Sour soup that I have had in the state. Excellent vegetarian spring rolls. Wonderful waiters.

I did not really dig this place. I ordered online and they did not get the portion of the order that it was supposed to be tofu. The result of this wasn't a phone call, but waiting until I arrived and waiting 20 minutes to get my food, which irked me. The online order takes my phone number, so I was hoping they would've called me. The food that I got, which was a while ago so I can't remember my specific order, was really tasteless. It was uninteresting and really seemed incredibly overcooked. I think they may have cooked my initial noodles and stir fry before learning that I wanted tofu and then cooked in the tofu with the already-cooked stir fry. The tofu had absolutely no seasoning whatsoever. I would've rather had the food without the tofu, but even that was pretty bland. I was really disappointed with how this turned out due to all the reviews and hope to give it another try, but only when I'm fed up with my other options. The redeeming quality was the staff there. They were really kind, really receptive and made sure I had everything before I headed out.

This is my favorite spot. All of their pho is incredible and you can get more noodles for just $1 more which is perfect for those times you underestimated your abilities to eat way too much pho. Their iced coffee is sooo sweet but really refreshing. The spring rolls (fried) and dumplings (fried) are excellent and their summer rolls are tasty but not my favorite. I seriously come here on a weekly basis. Don't be afraid to get take out because they can get really busy. They package their product really well so you can easily assemble everything at home. I should also add that their service is really great and I've never had an issue despite what others on here have said. Super friendly and pretty quick even when they are slammed.

I went there for the first time today with my friend Mechelle.....she is half Vietnamese, so I knew she would steer me in the right direction...LOL. We shared three appetizers: Scoopy Shrimp (not on the menu), beef teriyaki and scallion pancakes.. All three of them were delicious. Each one only $4.95..great deal. The seasonings, the tenderness of the beef, the crispness of the pancakes...Everything was just tasty, yummy, wonderful. I am planning to go back tomorrow again ...!!!

My friends and I used to stop in here for like lunch sometimes after class. I still go here once in a while years later. I always get the beef pho. The broth is really good and I never am disappointed. Took away one star for the lack of beef ball the last 2 times, which i seem to remember their pho having in the past. Also, not a big deal, but their condiment tray is a little weak... no soy sauce, no fish sauce, or chili oil (without asking for it specifically). I like to get the standard pho accouterments automatically when I get pho... just being a whiner, its really not a big deal. Don't let that stop you from checking out Pho Horn's if you havent gone. It's worth a try.

Came here with my boyfriend the day before Valentine's Day. Great service and great food. Try the Thai style iced coffee and taro bubble tea. No complaints. I got the beef tenderloin pho. The meat was a little fatty but the broth was heaven. We both loved it here and will definitely be back. The dining room is a little bit small though so don't come during a super busy time or you might be left waiting!! :)

I been here a few times before the pho is okay, nothing special. It's the best in my area, very sad I got food poisoning here last week it was the worst feeling ever. I had the spring rolls, scallion pancakes, nime chou, and #19 pho. Id rather just take the trip to Boston to get better.

I must confess: I HATE soup. I hate "real" soup. I don't count the creamy stew-like soups to be soup. I like those. But that is not real soup. I was convinced that I would hate Pho. Pho is "real" soup. Which to me is all fine and dandy if you like that stuff. For months, maybe even years, I have pushed it off as a difference in taste preference. But I have always been curious: why are people raving over a seemingly simple clear broth soup? Then on one cold snowy afternoon, I decided to give it a try. Let me tell ya: I can no longer say I hate soup. The Pho at Pho Horn's changed that for me. The broth was flavorful, but not loaded with sodium or spices like I expected it to be. The meats were thinly sliced, tender and savory. The bowl was huge. We asked for an extra small bowl "just in case" we didn't finish our Pho. Surprise, Surprise. We FINISHED THE ENTIRE BOWL. Individually. The evidence was there. There was no denying it. It was delicious. We also ordered the Nim Chow (summer rolls) which were also fresh. Their thick peanut sauce was a bit on the heavier side than I'm used to (I'm accustomed to the rice vinegar kind). We got both of our orders fairly quickly which is a big plus. Our servers were very nice and attentive. We left satisfied, impressed and slightly dumb-founded at how much they have exceeded our expectations. A prime example of how you should "never judge a book by it's cover." Overall, I am a fan. I foresee many regular visits to this hidden foodie find.

I don't believe I've never written a review for one of my favorite places!!! I really can't say anything bad about this place, great staff, great prices, and portions. This place makes me Pho horny. Too much? Okay i'll tone it down a bit. There's nothing like homemade pho on cold winters day, or if your looking for some good hangover remedy. Pho horns is as close as you get to the homemade stuff. The broth, without adding sriracha and hoisin sauce, is flavorful enough on its own. Enjoy he broth first before adding on. If your nose isn't running, then you're not doing it right. The secret is what's not on the menu. They have these spicy chicken wings that have an awesome kick to them. Other than that, give me a Vietnamese iced coffee and stick a fork in me, because I'm done.

Excellent food and large portions. Their broth is about as perfect as you can get - rich and flavorful with little droplets of fat dotting the surface. I almost wish there was an option to order just a bowl of broth. You can't go wrong with any of the pho combos. I've tried almost all of them. Their bun is also a refreshing and delicious light alternative to hearty soups. Plus, if you really want something special, order the S2. It's a sweet and sour seafood soup that I can't even describe properly, but the hot chunks of pineapple in it are a treat!

With the weather like it's been lately, I've been craving pho. That big hot bowl of hot noodles and vegetables and mint and hot..... did I mention hot? Anyway. My inability to be warm without pho notwithstanding, Pho Horn's is THE place to get pho in Providence. They have the widest variety of pho types, with some that are completely vegetarian and some that are wholly not. I personally tend to avoid the tripe and such, but if that's your bag, I'm told be tripe-eaters that it's good here. The best part, though, is their fantastic pho broth. Rich and spicy and tangy, served with a huge pile of mint and spicy peppers, it is hands-down the best pho broth in town. Start with that good a broth, and you really can't go wrong, no matter what you put in it.

Pho Horns has the best Nime Chow, hands down, in all of Rhode Island. I have tried to satisfy my craving for Nime chow at other places I frequent, but the others just do not compare. The peanut sauce paired with it is absolutely delicious. I could roll around in it all day.

The place is busy and most of the people are slurping noodles from big bowls. Little children are running freely, screaming' and usually slapping the 200 gallon salt water tank. Busy, noisy, and all around, people slurping pho. I prefer the spicy beef with lemongrass soup my waiter lovingly called "the bowl of death." Big chunks of beef brisket and noodles in a spicy red broth. Shrimp dumplings are delicious. I ask for the pho noodles because I don't like the fat white noodles it comes with. I'm a big fan of ban hoi and their beef marinade is very good. I have tried the pork version and I thought it was on the dry, chewy side. Providing they do not burn it black, the beef is more tender and flavorful. The beef teriyaki is very similar if not identical and two long thin skewers are $5. Not bad. #67 Sizzling beef in hot plate is delicious. Tender and flavorful. Pay $2 extra for Chinese broccoli. Again, $$$ extra, extra, extra. Maybe you don't need to, but I need bigger portions ... and vegetables. Their food is still very reasonable. My new favorite thing is lemongrass chicken. The chicken is sliced very thin, like ham and it has a rich taste, almost like bacon. My waiter said it might be the fish sauce. I don't think it tastes the least little bit of fish, or of lemongrass for that matter. More of a yellow curry and maybe a little hoisin sauce. Strange flavor, but intriguing. Nice vegetables too. Lots of zucchini, snow peas, and onions. I've had it a couple times now I noticed much the same as the soup, sometimes it is spicier than others. Last night's was watery in comparison to the first time. I think they have more than one chef! I would give the chef who likes the hot and spicy approach 5 stars. Since I never seem to get the same dish prepared the same way twice, 4 stars! The place is very good, but you can't go braggin on the food if it keeps changing.

One of the things that I love about this restaurant is that they deliver. The food is fresh and I always order the tofu triangles because they have this yummy peanut sauce that is spicy but not to spicy. If you are eating in it is the kind of atmosphere that you would meet a good friend or read a book by yourself but I would not bring a date here. Or at least not on the first date. The decor is a bit to stark. The people are friendly and will accommodate your dietary needs.

Excellent flavors, large portions and fresh meats, this really is one of the best pho places in RI, easily comparable to the pho palaces in Boston Chinatown. However, what really dropped a star for me was the heavy mildew taste on the water glasses, which was mentioned by my friends who's been here before in the past.

A little dingy, but they have excellent pho! They said you find the best places to eat If its a hole in the wall. They have alot of tradditional dishes like marinated fried quails. Which its so hard to find now adays because alot of Asian spots are "Americanized". The servers are attentive and great. They serve limted wine and beer which is awsome too. I crave their noodles every other day because its that addicting! i love me some pho horns!

I'm picky about my pho. Pho Horn's is probably the best you'll find in Providence-area Vietnamese restaurants, though I think it's definitely not at the 5-star level, but I'm comfortable giving it a solid 4. I usually get a small with steak and flank ( #21) -- they don't skimp on the meat, and a small is generally more than enough for me and my daily sodium intake. The most important part of the pho is a well-executed broth. The broth is the true test of a pho cook's mettle -- and the real mark of a great pho. Pho Horn's does pretty good broth: it's clear, it's savory, it has a nice meaty flavor. I wish it did have a tad more spice complexity, and that's mainly the area in which I find it lacking. It can be kind of insulting to the pho chef to add condiments to the broth, but at most pho places, I've found it kind of necessary -- and the sauces are on the table, anyway. I put a little sriracha in my broth but found it spiced enough to skip the hoisin. Of course, I added bean sprouts and chilies and basil with wild abandon. After I finish the garnishing ritual, I arm myself with a pair of chopsticks and a soup spoon, and go to town. Yum! The service here is casual, friendly, and super-fast (and notably, all male). When I went this weekend, the place was a kitschy winter wonderland with neon and sparkle and shine all over the place (they went hard with the Christmas decoration). If you have kids, they'll enjoy the big fishtank on the side of the room -- I remember that being a restaurant must-have when I was little. This is my reliable pho spot in Providence, and I'll be back again!

The best pho in the state. I usually get the beef broth with shrimp. The service is great too. Love this place !!!

Been here twice. Always packed... Even on a Tuesday at 12:30... Very, very authentic food. They definitely do put in the extra touches that make you feel special about when you're eating. I haven't found a pho here that I could die for though.. Any recommendations I'm open to :) hahah

The pho is tasty. I like the side of adobo sauce (I think that's what it is) sliced jalapeños. Liked the shaved chicken and the beaf pho. Location is in a strange spot. But easy parking because it's in a plaza.

This pho restaurant doesn't disappoint. I came here from Virginia to visit my brother in Rhode Island and I have high expectations of pho since Northern Virginia has tons of great restaurants. I got the combination pho and finished the whole bowl. I like how they give you hot peppers and shrimp paste per your request. I think it's because lots of the employees are Lao like me. This is a great meal if you eat it moderately and add all the right condiments!

I tried Pho Horn's about two or three years ago. It was ok, but I was less than impressed. I tried it again last night and it has improved greatly. I ordered traditional pho (with tripe, tendon, etc) and my husband tried the banh hoi with pork. Both were very flavorful and some of the best we ever had. Service was quick and polite. We went on a Saturday night. Even though the restaurant was quite full, we did not have to wait more than a minute or two for a table. I am still unclear if it's a 'seat yourself' or 'wait to be seated' situation there, but I'll be back again to figure it out.

The food here is pho-nomenal! Crispy spring rolls (there's always a coupon for it) are always nice way to start off, and then basically any dish thereafter is guaranteed to be tasty. I typically get the bun bo hue (#28a); it's spicy but soooo good. I recommend the coconut bubble tea to complement the heat of this pho. The Vietnamese fried rice is also so savory. Most of the waiting staff is really friendly and enthusiastic. This easily translates into happy eaters. The crab rangoon is questionable. As is the water, which has a moldy taste. I've been to this restaurant five times, and the water has been persistently moldy. For this and for sometimes negligent service (bringing the wrong dish or taking our order after a long wait), I deduct one star. I wish this restaurant would relocate to downtown Providence!

Strip Mall dining at its best. I decided to visit Pho Horn not because of it's location but because of the reviews of fellow yelpers -- THANK YOU ALL! I never would have sought out this place and upon walking inside I never would have expected the service and the food to be at the level which it was. The server was friendly, helpful and attentive. I got the Canh Chua (vegetariain version) soup; it was the perfect balance of sweet and sour and I enjoyed it so much that the large bowl which at first seemed like an impossible amount to eat was almost fully gone when I finally threw in the towel. I can not wait to go back and explore more of the menu.

Yummy bubble tea! Fantastic Pho! Some of the best Nim Chow around! Our family loves Pho Horn's, including the picky fourteen year old! The service is always friendly and helpful at explaining the item. We go here about once a month since discovering it last year and are always very happy! The menu is very diverse and we are still discovering new items, but the Pho brings us back. We especially love it when someone in the house is feeling under-the-weather, Pho just has a magical healing effect. If you are looking for a tasty, new dining experience, check out Pho Horns, you will not be disappointed!

Good, cheap noodles. Authentic Vietnamese pho with some of the most tasty meatballs I have had. Unfortunately I haven't tried anything else. Im not one for decor to be honest. Some simple art on the wall. Tables are always clean and staff are always helpful.

This place is great. It's nothing fancy, so don't expect a 5 star looking place, but the food and the service deserve those 5 stars. It's in a small plaza in Pawtucket, but their pho is perfect. Had the XL pho with everything and it was delicious. Also tried the stir fried noodles with veggies and chicken and it was perfect. Portions are the perfect size. Will definitely come back

I am a Pho addict, and Pho Horns is the best place for it in the city. Awkwardly located in the strip mall off of North Main Street is a small Vietnamese restaurant that will serve you a piping hot bowl of magical broth with an array of flavorful meats and slurpy rice noodles. Pho is my go-to soup for sick days, or cold day, or lazy days when I don't feel like cooking. It's not a fancy spot, but it's just right!

  • Agatha M.

This is the best pho in R.I. I call myself a pho connoisseur so it takes a lot for me to say this. Is it the best pho I ever had... no. But it is delicious and fresh consistantly. The service is prompt. Do not let the sketchy plaza fool you! The other items on the menu are great as well; scallion pancakes, spring rolls, ribs, and wings. This place is great to cure a nasty hangover, a cold, or to just enjoy a nice bowl of pho!

    (4)
  • Bob C.

Last time I went there it was such a disappointment. Almost everything was so nasty and unclean. The tea tastes like soap. I hope management step up and make pho horn the place I like to get my pho fix again. I'm going to give pho horn a couple more chances. If they don't get their quality up back to where it was before I'm leaving this place as a one star and I'm not going back there. I hope they don't become like all the other pho places that was once good. People will stop going if they stop caring!!!

Holy moley how have I not reviewed the Horns? Seriously, if you are in the mood for Pho you really need to head over here. There is no question about "oh what else is good in the area..." No you need to go to the Horns immediately. Only on a few occaisons have I seen the Horn's busy but "busy" means we had to wait a few seconds for the waitress to seat us, there is almost never a wait. They have great dishes aside from Pho, staples like fried rice, even their pad thai good here (more peanuty than usual). But you didn't come here for that right? You want the Pho.

I went with a few friends for my birthday and had never been before. I thought it would be much larger inside and the pho menu was very confusing so I wound up ordering the wrong thing and it tasted terrible to me. The bubble tea was very tasty and the staff was very friendly. It was not what I was expecting but I will give it another try.

The more I come here, the more I love it. They have won me over and this is now officially my favorite place to get pho. I love the HUGE portions on the cheap!! I also love that the chunks of delicious meat..are huge, bigger than Hons. The flavors are just spot on. They are heavenly, delicious, and I'm becoming a regular there lol!! When I get a certain waiter he automatically knows that we need an extra serving of bean sprouts without me even telling him. He confirms what I want--oh yeah, he's learned my order!! He knows I can't pour my leftovers into a bowl without making a mess so he does it for me lol. Overall...yeah, this place has won my heart, and I love it so.

Came here with my sister, nephew and her close friends while visiting Rhode Island on her friend's recommendation. While the food was beyond amazing and delicious the service lacked attentiveness. Once we got walked to the table the server disappeared completely. We sat for a good 30 minutes waiting for someone to come and take our orders. One of my sister's friends had to walk up to the counter and request someone. It's almost as if they forgot we were there. Once we got our orders in things went a little more smoothly because the food is absolutely delicious. It's the only reason I'm giving this place 3 stars. We also had to flag down a waiter on the other side of the place to get our check. The service was seriously slow specially for being half empty. According to her friends that's never happened to them before. They said the numerous times they have been there they have received excellent fast service even in busier times. From the other reviews I'm guessing my bad experience was a once in a blue moon deal which is disappointing because I don't live here. It'll be my lasting expression. Another thing: the baby seats they have all have broken straps. My nephew while big enough to sit in one isn't calm enough to not try and slide out of the opening in the front. That was a little disappointing. TL;DR: POOR SERVICE, GLORIOUS GODLY FOOD.

Clay pot salmon was great and Pho was satisfying. However the service was excellent and earned the 5 star. Over the course of the meal 3 people waited on us. They were all prompt, friendly, efficient and out of the way at the same time. I hate "hovering" waiters that seem to be all too common in the US. Plus they seemed to be genuinely friendly. None of that fake nice stuff. Water glasses always full. Also remembered little things like we take water without ice. Even when different people refilled the glasses! Will be back!

I don't know if management/chef has changed but the Pho I got was not pho... I'm from the west coast where Vietnamese restaurants are abundant (as there is a large Vietnamese community which exists), and have had my fair share of pho to know what tastes right. Unfortunately the Pho I got from Pho Horn's was definitely wrong... The soup was much too salty and almost tasted like chicken noodle soup out of a can... Wish there was more meat (I ordered steak and flank in my pho) but it wasn't too lacking. Besides the pho, the other dishes we ordered were good, just nothing special at all.

Food was ok, but service was fucking horrible. I felt our server had a bit of an attitude and was a douche. He showed no courtesy and we felt they had forgotten about us completely. We waited almost 40 minutes for the food and the place was near empty. We've been there before and it was not as bad as this.

Amazing. Lots of choices for the vegetarians which is great. The broth for the vegetarian pho was outstanding as were the summer rolls. You don't come here for the decor but when the food is this good, it doesn't even matter. We didnt' mind the service at all; generally we enjoy talking and not feeling rushed through a meal. Their timing was great. They also carry some interesting beers to try. A very happy meal with the family was had at Pho Horn's.

What can I stay that has not already been said? Delicious pho and bubble tea. My favorite bubble tea is mango. The pho is so good URI students from Maryland rave about it. With the opening of new Job Lot store the strip mall is not so bad.

Today was my first time at Pho Horns and I will be definitely coming back. I know absolutely nothing about Vietnamese cuisine so I figured I would give it a try. I had the Spring Rolls with Shrimp and Chicken... As delicious as vegetables, shrimp and chicken can get. I was too crazy about the sauce it came with. My entree was a small Pho soups with steak in it. The small is really not that small! It was my first time having Pho and I was not disappointed at all. It had a great taste, but a little stingy on the steak, but overall it was so good that I cannot deduct credit for the lack of steak. Next time I will get a little more creative with the menu and my pickings. I recommend giving this place a try!

The pho was really tasty then I found a piece of plastic in my soup. I told the server and they didn't do anything about it. I am a bit disappointed because the place was recommended to me and it's much farther from my house than the place I normally go. I don't know if I'll take the chance and return.

Whoops! Just realized I have never reviewed this place despite ordering regularly when on call at the hospital. To make a long story short, Pho Horn can't be beat for pho in Providence. (But to be 100% honest, there isn't a whole lot of competition either). This family-run establishment is located in the kind of plaza that makes you think... oh yes. This is the 90s. Let's rewind and go back to the kind of strip mall that would make Wayne's World proud. But anyway... this is about pho. All bowls are served w/ fresh-off-the-branch basil (so fresh that I wonder: do they have a tree back there that they cut these directly off of?), a good whopping serving of sprouts, just enough jalepeno to give the broth a special kick, and lime for seasoning to taste. I typically get the pho ga (chicken), but the traditional pho bao (beef) is mighty authentic and tasty too. The appetizers are standard--they have the crab ragoons, scallion pancakes, and spring rolls that most asian restaurants have. But their fresh vietmanese spring rolls are a step above the rest. Again, I think it might be the blow-your-mind basil. For pho in Providence, this is really the only place we've got. I'm glad our one shot gets the job done. (That should be a rap lyric).

Shrimp Bahn Hoi is delish! You can get your shrimp with or without the shell, I chose without. A nice big plate full of vermicelli, fresh veggies and of course, the shrimp. Sadly, they didn't include any Thai basil so I had to pillage some from my husband's stash. At Pho Horn, you soak you're own rice wrappers which seems daunting at first, but trust me, it's not a big deal. My husband liked the pho. He gets the beef with ALL the gross bits. And the more gross bits there are, the happier he is. I'd say he was a medium-well happy with Pho Horn's pho. Service was good, food was great but it seemed most prices were a buck or two higher than what we're used to paying elsewhere. All in all, $20 before tip isn't a bad price for a dinner date.

How am I just discovering Pho Horn's now? I'll admit I was a little bit gun shy about eating Vietnamese in Rhode Island after Phonatic (RIP) gave me an awful MSG headache years ago. But I'm happy to report that not only was the food here pretty darn tasty, it also did not leave me feeling hung over. We had the scallion pancake (#12) to start, which was a little bland but better when dipped in the soy ginger sauce it came with. For my main course, I had the small chicken pho (#25) which had a delicious broth, rice noodles, and good looking pieces of white meat chicken. As others have mentioned, the bean sprouts, basil, lime, and jalapeno were quite fresh. With the appetizer, a small was more than enough food for me. Pho Horn's is located in a very rundown shopping mall where only a few stores are still in business. It's kind of a depressing scene. The inside of Pho Horn's is much more charming however. Call me crazy, but I found the tacky neon lights, the weird fish, and the hearts hanging from the ceiling oddly endearing. Service was quick and super friendly. I can't wait to come back and try the chao!

The best and cheapest meal I've had in a long time. My boyfriend had been bugging me for so long to go here and I finally gave in. Originally I wasn't fond on eating at a place located in a horribly vacant looking strip mall but I'm glad I did. Everything we had was served hot and amazingly seasoned. I had the lemongrass beef noodle soup which was perfectly spicy and delicious. I can't wait to go back. I mean the interior is like a cheesy diner meets lunch buffet restaurant but it made me love it all the more. The place was busy and food was still fast and service very prompt and kind without hovering. Not sure I've ever had Vietnamese food before but it's quickly becoming something I want to explore more. Also the fact that we were eating amongst a majority of Vietnamese diners doesn't hurt the authenticity of this place either. Love love love.

Love this place. If you haven't been yet, GO... The service is great, everyone is friendly and the food is awesome. Try the Nime Chow ( peanut sauce is yummy) I get the soup with the beef and tendon I think it's the number 22. Always delicious. The sweet rice with pineapple, raisin and cucumbers is an unexpected surprise that you'll be sure to order again. The 'Bird's nest' is a bed of crispy noodles with sauce and veggies and a choice of meat that is great to share. Nothing warms you up on a cold, rainy or winter day like some pho!

I'm always looking for pho every where I go. It's important for me to have comfort food like this in a place where I know how to get to! Luckily with the help of some of my fellow Yelpers I have found one not far from my house. I went on a Monday afternoon expecting a place that wasn't too busy but I was surprised to find that people were everywhere here! The 2 waiters were quite overwhelmed and it took us a while to get seated, to get our menus and to have our order taken. As with most pho places, you'll have a menu full of vietnamese noodle and rice dishes that you can choose from. For Pho, some bowls come in small, large or XL portions depending on how voracious your appetite is that moment. Of course my eyes are always bigger than my stomach but luckily I accounted for this and got a small bowl. This was a perfect size for me! When we finally got our orders in, the food came quickly. The first thing I noticed when tasting the soup (of course after a large dose of Sriracha) was that there was somewhat of a burnt taste. I wasn't sure if this was their "flavoring" or just my bowl but it did bother me a bit. I don't expect all pho to taste the same, but I hope this was just a one time deal as I would like to come back here! Needless to say, I did finish my bowl so I can say it was not "stellar" but it was "A-OK." There's plenty of parking outside and it's part of a strip mall if you are concerned if you are in the wrong place. Oh, before I forget, I also ordered a vietnamese ice coffee which is sinfully delicious (very sweet and not bitter like straight coffee). I'll be back to give this place another try!

The pho is great here. But it's nothing compare to the places in LA. I got the beef pho, it was very simple. Flavoring is great nonetheless. The prices for pho were a little too expensive in my taste. I'm not sure if it's cause it's a different area. The pho is LA is about $5-6. Anyways, great service. It looks like it's a family-own restaurant. Next time, I will try the eggrolls!

I have lost track of how many times I have been here in the short past two months that I have known about this place! I was introduced to Pho Horns by a Vietnamese friend and am so thankful to her. Since then I have been taking all my friends here. My mom has become a even bigger fan of Pho Horns now. If we don't go here at least 2-3 times a week, she gets us take out.. Haha.(yes we are a lil obsessed). So why do we love this place so much? Most definitely for the good quality, fresh and well made food. The Pho is awesome .. Especially perfect during winter. The staff is friendly and accommodating as well. Not the place to go if you are looking for great ambience or service.. Go here for good food.

The proof is in the pho and their pho is authentic and more than decent. Trust me, I've been to a lot pho places, including a few in Vietnam very recently. Besides that, service is good and fast. My wife usually orders something from the grill rather than pho and she's been very pleased too. I only wish it were located much closer to Hope and Rochambeau. I'd probably go there at least once a week if they were more accesible to pedestrians like me.

Thoroughly satisfying pho. I hear good things about the nime chow and will probably come back for them. I had the #22 Pho, which is shaved steak (I suspect brisket) and beef tendon. There were big, tender pieces of beef tendon (though as always I would like to have seen more) and the steak was sliced thin and also quite tender and flavorful. The broth was really standout, very savory and fortifying. My dining companion liked it a bit less spicy and added less sri racha than I did, but I found it especially satisfying with a nice amount of added kick. Prices were also very solid at $7-9 for a small (the small is not small!) bowl. Would come again, and would upgrade my rating if they would just give me a bit more tendon in my bowl.

The pho was good. Comparable to all the good pho I've had my whole life. Minus one star for the loose booth seats that would knock me forward every time the person behind me leaned back. I thought I was on a United flight.

The place was packed when we arrived. We were sat almost at a table with only a foot of spacing between us and the next party. Pho was ok and seasoning for it was lacking. They only had hoisen sauce and saracha. No sugar, lemon, fishsauce or flavoring paste or sauce. The ran out of bean sprout so gave us diced lettuce. Bean sprout is a must in pho and many asian dish. It was barely 1PM and they were out. Had to wait over 5 minutes before water was served. Was not given any straws or napkins. Had to wait longer before we were able to order. I get that it was a Saturday and it was busy but we were pretty much ignored until we demanded service. Food came fairly quick. Sometimes quick is not a good think. My uncle complained that his pho was bland and couldn't finish it all. My aunt had mee kathang and it was awful. It was way too salty, was way to watery and did not have much flat noodles. I had to split my pho with her. My photo was decent considering the limited ingredients but hey I ordered seafood and I like seafood. My cousin ordered pho simple beef and didn't complain. So after everything we ordered three bows of pho and one mee kathang. They were quick to give us the bill the moment we finished eating. Price was $45 my aunt tipped $5 (in hind sight I don't know why. We had a bad experience) total came out to be $50. $12.50 a person with only water. I can understand that quality of service might drop during stressful busy times but that's when a good shop brings it together and really shines. This is also where you have the highest chance and rate of losing or keeping customers. Simply getting food to the customer does not mean good service. Luckily this place is a popular Asian spot and no matter good or bad quality of service it will still get customers.

Delicious! Everything, every time! Fresh ingredients, skillfully prepared. A hidden gem. You have to try the Pho!

Off the beaten path and into a beaten strip mall. My new found list for Pho has me in Pawtucket seeking out new and exciting things. Yes. The outside is a dump. But once you step through the doors, it's a quaint little place. Very clean, dim lights and a young and personable staff. As usual I went with my basics for trying a new place like this. The steamed dumplings came out quickly (as did my pho). They weren't overly flavorful but nothing a squirt of Sriracha didn't fix. I opted for "Mi" or yellow noodles which are apparently more like ramen. Not as soft as the traditional Pho rice noodles I've become used to. It was a nice change of pace. I orders it spicy, but ended up drenching it with more sriracha. I really enjoyed their broth. It was a cleaner flavor than others I've had (unless it was the noodle I liked more). I do wish I got the XL because I was craving more by the time I got to the end of mine. I finished off my meal with vanilla fried ice cream which was batter fried which held more grease than I'm used to. Cornflakes or coconut are my preference. I will absolutely be returning and bringing the family. Location leaves something to be desired but it's easily become a new favorite of mine.

LOVE this place! My favorite Vietnamese restaurant in Providence. I have been here twice and loved everything I tried. The pho is delicious and quite large. I like to order the pork chops over rice. It's really tasty. The food is authentic and the selection is quite large. The bubble tea is delicious (I recommend the coconut flavor). Dining here is extremely affordable. Service is quick and friendly.

I didn't like my pho bowl =( but I wanted to because I was craving pho. I remember eating here and loving the stuff before, maybe the ingredients were just a little less fresh since it was dinner instead of lunch this time. Because it didn't satisfy me I felt it was too pricey for what I got.

Went here three times in a row last week. Had a different dish each time and was not disappointed! AND my daughter who is usually a very picky eater loved it!

I love coming here, the food is always good. little place, and in a fairly deserted strip mall it seems. But I have not been disappointed once. The pho is awesome, never knew I like basil so much. I try to have something different each time I go. Highly recommend it.

This is a great little pho restaurant. That being said, when you visit, order the damn pho! I'm sure there is a lot of good stuff besides the noodle soup, but that's not why you came here. They are doing this right. The waitstaff is friendly, talkative, upbeat, positive and I adore them. Also, the peanut sauce that they serve with the Vietnamese summer rolls should be served by the bucketful.

I've been a regular of Pho Horn since 2009 and believe me, their pho is the best of the best in Providence and even in the Boston. I'm not kidding. I always order number 19 on the menu - the combination pho. Their broth is simply to die for. Their Summer Roll with grilled pork instead of the normal chicken is also a "must order", along with their crispy spring roll (fried upon order) and chicken wings. Their pork chop over rice is my mom's favorite and she can have it 3 times a week if not more! It's very juicy and tender. Pho Horn's salted fish fried rice is also a winner! On top of that, they also have the best Vietnamese iced coffee around! What more can I say?

I came here yesterday for dinner. Been here 5 times prior. Always the Scallion Pancakes and Seafood Noodle Soup, always great. I've been fighting a cold this past week and the craving for a noodle soup in a giant bowl only grew stronger and stronger. I was a pretty bad restaurant patron. I couldn't finish an entire sentence without a cough. People around me were staring and probably wondering why I hadn't expired yet. Scallion pancakes are damn good and even though my appetite wasn't all there, we made a pretty big dent in the appetizer. The noodle soup came out right in time. The broth is potent and soothes the throat. I don't even know if pescatarians are allowed to drink the broth but I don't care, I'm just a poser. I always opt for the yellow egg noodles as opposed to the slippery clear rice noodles. I can't seem to get the rice noodles to cooperate with me, even after decades of chopstick usage. I still have half of my noodle soup in the fridge, I'll do a review update on that. OR I may revisit tonight.

Oh happy day when I find a pho place nearby! I crave pho on a weekly basis in the winter so I'm very pleased that this restaurant is closeby and service is fast. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. You can ask for more chicken, less noodles, or any other combo. I haven't tried much else. Love the pho. The place is very casual (used to be a pizza place?), so come anytime you crave pho!

This was our first experience with Pho, and we based the outing on previous Yelp reviews. Pho Horn's did not disappoint! The iced coffee was almost a religious experience- it was THAT good. We ordered the spring rolls (thanks for the free coupon!) and scallion pancakes to start - both were delicious! I've never had a spring roll with such complex, delicious flavor. We both ordered large bowls of pho - hubby was daring and went with the works, trying tripe and tendon for the first time. I went a little safer and got the sirloin. They were both awesome. I've never had anything quite like it, and I can't wait to try it again. Service was great and the prices were perfect.

I am an advocate for places that serve one great thing very well. Well it pretty much says it in their name, but Pho-Horns is the place for Pho. And looking at a large southeast Asian clientele, you cannot go wrong. Anthony Bourdain's book, Medium Raw, he describes Pho and his love for Pho in great detail, so I won't go into it here. In short Pho should be in one bowl a great commingling of tastes (sweet, salty, bitter, sour and umami) and in texture (soft, chewy, and crunchy). Pho-Horns definitely delivers. I usually get the special (D19) and ask for the chili oil to accompany the dish. The decor, as previous reviewers have noted, isn't much to look at, but the food is good. They do have a wide selection to choose from as well as specials like sizzling salmon. From the traditional Vietnamese fare to American-Chinese standards. I love the summer rolls with peanut sauce. Come for the Pho, which during lunch time comes out to your table rather quickly. I recall one the chefs stated to me, "we are faster than Mc'Donalds!"

Maybe my expectations were too high, but I give this 3 stars. That's not bad, but I don't think it is better than that. My wife and I had dinner the other night here which was our first time to this restaurant and we got the summer roll for an app and I ordered beef pho and she got noodles with spring rolls. The food was good, but about on par with some of the other Vietnamese places we've been in RI. We also ordered a pot of tea, which was luke warm when brought to us. I asked the waitress to exchange it please since it wasn't hot. She brought another (or maybe the same?) pot a minute later which wasn't any warmer. Fine - I let it drop as I didn't feel like having to explain that hot tea needs to be served HOT. The service was pretty good, the place was fairly clean, although it was cold inside, and the food was good. It's probably not somewhere I'd go again, but it's not bad either.

Ordered the pho with flank steak. I ordered my steak on the side, which is served raw. Delicious and tender, which I dredged through the broth. With tip the total was $20 for two 'smalls' which are substantial. I usually order bahn mi (noodle bowl sans broth) but since it's cold out, I went for pho. Their appetizers include the scallion pancake which is super yummy here. The service is great! There were two servers on and both worked in tandem which makes for a 'home-style' way of service. They were attentive but not pushy. The tables are always clean and the place is spotless. Great job! To top it off they stock some really beautiful fish in large tanks (for decoration). Tip: the large fish is super flirtatious. All in all, it's our 'go-to' for pho!

The food here is delicious and the price here is even better. Friday and Saturday nights are busy! I ordered take out and they said it would be done in 20 mins. So after 35 mins I was on my way. When I arrived, they said its going to be a few mins. Long story short they started making my food when I arrived. I had to wait another 30 mins. for my food. This is not the first time this happened. The third actually. Quite disappointed. Even when we dine in on slow nights, we always get the older gentleman that waits on us (if you can call it that) He's kinda rude. He'll take your order and ignore you till you wave him down for the bill. Hence that's why we order take out. I came here with my brother a few weeks ago and he ordered the seafood pho. My brother is allergic to shrimp so he asked them to take it out and they did. But when we finally got the bill we realized that they charged us a dollar to take it out. I think that's a little ridiculous. I would've just ordered it with the shrimp and taken it out myself! Spent that extra dollar for physical labor. lol

My favorite Pho spot. soup is rich , tasty and authentic. These guys cook Pho the right way. Soup isn't watered-down like other restaurant. Atmosphere is quiet, a little dark bit very pleasant and family friendly. The workers are super friendly as well. I always tip them good. Is located at a plaza/strip mall. Always PLENTY of parking

This is hands down the best Vietnamese in RI. Fresh, Delicious, and Fast! I had many Vietnamese choices in Boston but after moving back to RI I have not been able to find a place as good as this. The Bánh Höi is amazing. I have a hard time not ordering it every time I'm here. It's a traditional dish that involves you assembling individual rice paper wraps. the filling is pork or shrimp, mint, cucumber, and carrots. Then there's the dipping sauce, sweet, sour, and spicy. There service is friendly and will give you a god recommendation if you ask. They do do take out too! the decor is not to be looked at, i think it was a Ronzio's at some point. But all the good Vietnamese places in Boston don't have romantic decors either.

Not much to say about Pho Horn's that hasn't already been said...but its Truuuuuuue Pho is the shiznit. I try something new every time I come in and I'm never disappointed. The summer rolls are a must have and the dipping sauce that comes with them is phenomenal. I started with the chicken pad thai, tried the lemongrass beef dish and also a fried tofu special last time I was in and every time I'm impressed. The veggies are crisp and not overcooked. The rice noodles are delicious. Even my kids love Pho Horn and it's not easy to get a preschooler to eat Vietnamese food. Skip any other asian cuisine in the area, just go to Pho. My only gripe is that they don't deliver but when you walk in for take out you just might end up sitting down and dining in. The cozy little family atmosphere is charming and the waiters are super nice. Plus...the enormous fish tank distracts my kids while I finish up their meal!

Please try their bubble tea. As a bubble tea fanatic, I have to say it is the best that you can possibly get in all of Rhode Island. Go for the bubble tea and stay for some Pho. You won't be disappointed.

Couldn't be happier -- food was great, but where they really go the extra mile is in customer service. We placed a large to-go order, drove 20 minutes to pick it up, got home only to find out we were missing an item. Called, they were already aware of the mistake, and they offered to deliver the item, plus they threw in some free appetizers. We were blown away by their positive attitude and commitment to their customers. Would not hesitate to order from here again.

Got the lemongrass beef soup and Bun thit nuong (vermicelli noodles with beef) and both were really good. The lemongrass beef soup is marked as spicy and it's spicy for sure---but I can see some perhaps adding more sriracha even once they get it. It was great. The brisket in the beef soup was very savory. It definitely was packed on a Friday night and we had to wait a few minutes for a table to empty---but it was well worth it.

Well, this is a story all about how my life got flipped -- turned upside down. I'd like to take a minute, so just sit right there: I'll tell you how I became addicted to a place called Pho Horn. Pho. I prefer it sans-meats; just the fresh, tasty veggies and that magical broth that untangles the delicate, sticky rice noodles and spreads warmth and joy through my body. Delicious, flavorful, pipin' hot and plentiful. Now, I'm no Pho expert, but I do know good food. For some reason, I feel that the Pho tastes better with out any beef, pork, or chicken, but that's just me. I have yet to go beyond the Pho, because I've just never felt the need. It's also cheap. Sure, the location is a bit strange, but the service is right quick and getting my Pho to go is as easy as... Pho.

I was excited to try this place since it's close to where I work and has great reviews, but I was disappointed. I had bubble tea, pho, and shared a few appetizers with a friend. Nothing was terrible, but I think there are lots of better spots around the state. I'd much rather drive a little out of my way to go to one of the Vietnamese restaurants in Cranston (Minh Hai on Park Ave is my favorite!)

Fast and friendly service here in a little bit of a sketchy area. Their vegetarian pho has a very nice flavor to it was lots of fresh veggies and tofu. I've tried some other items from the vegetarian menu like the tofu salad (was very satisfied with that dish) and a lemongrass flavored tofu...all have been great but when I go to a Vietnamese restaurant it all comes down to the pho and salad rolls...they are doing more than one something right here.

Meh. Tried this place bc of recommendation . Ordered vermicelli bun w/grilled pork & egg roll + watermelon bubble tea. Good: pork had decent flavor but I've had better, the watermelon was fresh, not-too-sweet & made w/real fruit, mint/sprouts fresh & crispy. Bad: they totally skimped on the meat! The vermicelli noodles stuck in giant clumps- a good place doesn't have clumpy vermicelli. The egg roll was not great, but not bad, a little soggy... & there was only 1! Also skimpy. And the boba in the tea was way too soft & tasted a little funny. If I were to go back, would just get a watermelon smoothy. Bad outweighs good but food was just OK. So I would give 2.5 for food & solid 3 as I like fresh watermelon shakes. I *may* go back for watermelon shake & to try the pho as everyone says its the best... I doubt it tho. Pho's hard to mess up. But we'll see...

A small place, typical "strip mall dining". Booth seating and a couple of larger square tables, scattered ethnic decoration, and two in-need-of-a-scrub fish tanks (one housing the most bulbous fish I've ever seen). Swinging saloon-style doors separate the dining area from the restrooms. We stepped up to the dim counter at the back of the space and placed our order for bubble tea. Our thoughts on Pho Horn boba: The avocado was surprisingly refreshing, but was a bit too thick for my taste. The watermelon (yesterday's special) was delicious - like liquefied watermelon pulp! The tapioca was a little firm (undercooked boba is almost as bad as overcooked boba), and the amount of beverage you receive for the 3.50$ pricetag isn't much (10oz?). Not bad when you're in a bubble tea pinch, but if you have the time I'd suggest venturing south into PVD to Bubble Tea House for a larger bubble beverage for your buck - not to mention more flavors, textures, and jelly flavor options!

I am pretty sure that spring is never going to come. The groundhog lied to us, there is going to be snow on the ground forever and ever and ever. We will die in the cold and the wet. At least, this is how it feels to me. Which is why I was so happy to find Pho Horns and envelop myself in the warmth of their delicious pho. The smallest size bowl they offer was more than I could finish, and I am really really good at eating. I just got beef pho, the broth was really flavorful and it came with very generous portions of bean sprouts, basil and lime. I love to load it up with hoisin sauce and go to town. So I did. While it feels like winter is never going to end, I can bear it better now that I have pho from Pho Horn's to warm me up!

The Banh Hoi Thit Nuong (both chicken and pork) is divine. The decor is gritty but considering the rest of the stores in this strip mall I didn't expect much. Fresh ingredients and the nicest, friendliest, attentive service anywhere in Providence. So yum.

I love Pho Horn's. Love it! Okay, so the location isn't that great, but I quickly overllok that considering the magic that happens when you enter. The service is great (they start to remember you quite quickly). The broths are to die for- I've tried several different versions of the pho and they are all amazing. It's a great place to go, grab a bowl and do some work (they gladly lead me to a booth with an outlet) or to go with your people. They never rush you out and seem...gasp...HAPPY to see you. Hidden gem: The Vietnamese iced coffee. It's just a show stopper and completely unexpected. Love.

my alllll time favorite little vietnamese restaurant for pho noodle soup!!! 5 stars because when you walk in, you don't expect such great service or superb flavorings! little hidden gem in an abandoned plaza, but this place has got it allll! I like.. LOVE #28a, the spicy lemongrass noodle soup! wow! just wow. try it for yourself, theres no need for a review. their traditional vietnamese soups are also very flavorful and generous. you just can't go wrong in this noodle house with whatever soup you choose. Highlights for me would have to be the spicy lemongrass soup for one. the quail appetizer!!! ummm, delicious!!! the RAW SPICY BEEF SALAD, EXTRAAAA spicy please. If you are daring and love sour and spicy, you HAVE to try that dish! can't even tell its raw!!!! they sparingly offer thai spicy wings, i love spicy so i get it with extra jalapenos and wow, the wings are cooked perfectly! they have beer, wine and bubble tea! yummm, not a fan of their fried ice cream, too greasy for me, but i will write a review on where you can go for that!

This is truly my favorite restaurant in Rhode Island! The food ,service and overall experience for a casual inexpensive restaurant is second to none. If your a calamari fan and tired of your squid drowned in oil or a heavy sauce try Pho's the preparation is perfect! Tender, just the right salt to sweet with a touch of spice! They dry fry it in a wok as opposed to dropping it into a fryolater. I could go on and on about my love for this authentic little gem. The chef/owner Tev is there 24/7 to be sure your food is perfect. I would put this restaurant up against any Boston, NYC or San Francisco Vietnamese restaurant any day of the week and twice on Sunday.

In the winter, I need my regular fix of cheap, delicious, and hot pho. As a student in Boston, this was not a problem as Dorchester and Chinatown teemed with an array of Vietnamese restaurants to choose from. After moving to Providence, I thought I was all out of luck. However, after consulting Yelp reviews, my husband and I decided to put this hole-in-the-wall place to the test. Boy, were we pleased! Our waiter was very friendly and helpful. The quality of the pho was reminiscent of what you can find in NYC or Boston. Don't let the outward appearance of the restaurant and its location in a deserted strip mall deter you. We are so happy we found this affordable gem, and it's worth the small drive to Pawtucket from Providence. Yum! Now, where the banh mi (vietnamese subs) at?

Insanely massive menu with every type of Vietnamese dish you could imagine. So where to begin... Pho Horn is tucked in a quiet shopping center, a little off the beaten path but well worth the trek. We were seated right away at a booth, not too much room, but still pretty comfortable. Ambience- nothing special, the one weird fish in the aquarium kind of made me uneasy, otherwise very simple decor. Once we placed our order the food came out within ten minutes. Everything was prepared and plated gorgeously. The seafood noodle soup had a variety of sea creatures and creations (fish balls, monk fish, shrimp). Add a little (or a lot) of rooster sauce, mint and bean sprouts and you get a delicious dinner. The menu was well priced, definitely get massive portions for a great price!

Ate here yesterday for the first time. I have always wanted to try this place being the only vietnamese restaurant in the area that I know of. The food was absolutely delicious. Every table was full which is a good sign. My friend and I only had to wait about 5 minutes for our table. The food came out very quickly. The summer rolls were phenomenal as well as the scallion pancake. We each had pho and the small was a good size portion. I had the chicken and my friend had beef and tendon. My only complaint would be that it did not have much chicken, but it was yummy. The staff was extremely friendly and all the patrons looked satisfied. I would highly recommend this place. Keep up the great work owners and staff!

I absolutely love this place. If you're looking for authentic Vietnamese cuisine, this is the spot. Cheap selections, friendly staff and yummy food. The only downfall is the location and decor; I want to say that it was a D'Angelo's prior to Pho Horn's. It looks a little grimey and dirty, but don't let it scare you off. They've got a huge menu and also alcohol to offer. I always get the Bun Tom Thit: grilled shrimp and pork over a bed of vermicelli, shredded lettuce, mint, carrots, cucumber, bean sprouts, peanuts and clear sauce. Um... TO DIE FOR! Don't be scared of the giant orange (goldfish maybe?) in the 1st tank. He's a bit mean looking and even though they have a sign posted NOT to touch the tank, I still have and he'll chase your finger around for a few seconds. I kind of feel bad for him, I think he needs a bigger home.

I have a pho-bsession. See what I did there? :) From growing up in California, Texas and Florida I have always had a trusty Pho place to go to nearby. It took some exploring when I moved to Providence to find my pho place and Pho Horn's came out victorious. If you've never had pho before, what makes (or breaks) this dish is the broth. Think of it as your favorite chicken noodle soup recipe. Every recipe has something special about it but the one you love is just right. The recipe at Pho Horn's is in fact, just right. The place is kind of a pain to get to, I just so happen to live wicked close to this place (It was meant to be.) I've tried several things from their menu and it's all been fantastic. Their pho, bubble tea and spring rolls are the highlights. My typical order is either the fresh spring or deep fried rolls, a large #19 with extra beef flank. What can I say? I love meat. They bring everything out really fast and it's always hot and fresh. For dessert, I get a Taro flavored bubble tea to go. The best part is all of this is still under $20! Incredibly affordable and it's almost too much of a hole in the wall place. I love it though, the waitstaff are so friendly and attentive. I go to this place so often, by myself mind you, that they ask me about how work is going and if I'm getting the 'usual' stuff for my meal. Unlike Phonatic on Thayer St, parking here is a breeze and the prices are relatively cheaper. Check em' out and say hi to the giant fish in the tank!

Wonderful dining experience. Excellent tofu dishes. Great food, decent prices- the lunch specials are under $7. I asked for a raw fruit bubble tea. It was awesome! They can do raw durian, jack fruit and watermelon. That just means you can order certain bubble smoothies with no syrup or added sugar. It was awesome. We shared a tofu dish and a soup. All the staff were extremely nice and attentive- especially our waiter who answered our endless questions with a smile. He accommodated our requests for substitutions like changing out fried tofu for soft. The chef even came out to serve us our soup. What a hidden gem this place is!

I have mixed feelings on Pho Horns. Their pho is solid, sure. Not the best ive had but not the worst. Ingridients were fresh at least. But their summer spring rolls and wings were bland and left much to be desired. The service is prompt and friendly; however no public restroom?! Also the last couple times ive been the restaurant was very dirty (napkins and straw wrappers on the floor, etc). All told im probably going to avoid from now on, but your mileage may vary.

Pho....where art thou Pho? In Rhode Island Pho can be difficult to find. Luckily there are a couple spots in which to get that Pho phix. Pho Horn is just about all you need in a Pho/Vietnamese restaurant. Yes, it's in a strip mall that has seen better days......I hope......but this diamond in the rough makes it worth the trip. It appears to be a family run place which in my book means a higher chance of good food. Bingo. Their broth is in the top of my book. Nice broth. Great beef and wonderful noodles. It's just what the tummy and soul need on a cold winters day or night. Great simple home style Vietnamese food and very friendly and attentive service all at a very reasonable price. Go fo the Pho.

I went here with the best companion: a food savy Vietnamese colleague who knew the restaurant through family connections. The food was excellent. We both had the Pho, my favorite on rainy days. I appreciated the fact they had a small, medium and large option because I am not that huge an eater. The owner was very pleasant and came out to talk with us. It's not the place you'd take someone for a fancy meal but would be perfect for a causal lunch/dinner, especially with friends. I'm excited to go back and try the Bun as well as some of the appetizers (I've been told the pork chop is a must have). Only "negative" isn't their fault, the neighborhood is simply OK, lots of closed businesses around. The little shopping center its located in has seen better days. Again, this is the place you go to for good, solid, tasty food, not where you expect high romance or haute cuisine.

I've been craving pho ever since I moved to Providence (a year ago), specifically, rare steak beef noodle soup (#20 on Pho Horn's menu). Well, finally, I decided that I needed to stop craving it and just see if I could find a place here that I like. I go to Metro Nails (on Wickeden and Hope) for a manicure and pedicure every so often and a girl that works there recommends this place. I trust her judgement and so I went. Good lord! This place was amazing. The #20 was EXACTLY what I wanted. I can't even begin to describe the party my mouth was having. The broth was perfectly flavored and the perfect temperature. The steak, also, perfect. Everything about this meal was absolutely, hands down, the best pho i've had. To be fair, I haven't had pho in over a year so my taste buds could have been a overly excited... but I gotta say... I'll be returning once a week to enjoy this splendid meal. The restaurant is extremely clean, staff is very nice, and prices are fair. This place has got it figured out.

I like Pho Horn. I like it enough to visit there daily for a nice bowl of pho. The broth is exceptionally delicious and always consistent. The other dishes on the menu are good but skimp on portion size and the extras. I am used to having a lot more rice than a small scoop for my RICE PLATE DISHES. Now most non-Asians probably will not be nearly as critical but considering the cost of the ingredients I expect a little more for what I am paying - because I'm definitely not paying for ambiance. Also service is fairly good too. I like that the staff is friendly. Oh and totally unrelated to the food and service. I feel really bad for that fish with what appears to be a tumor on his head although I am sure it is nothing more than a disfigured trademark of the species. He's all alone in that fish tank. It is quite a sad existence.

This is the place to go and watch people, by yourself, while your laundry is tumbling in the dryers down the street and you are wearing a ridiculous outfit that was thrown together like dinner the night before you went grocery shopping. Anyhow, not only does Pho Horn have Providence's only aromatic, well portioned, sensorily pleasureful pho (Trust me. I am enough of a connoisseur to tell you it is pronounced fuh not fow. And yes "sensorily" is a real word) but as an added benefit it is the only active business in a creepy strip mall ghost town, and the people who go here are all either weirdly high, just weird, or snoops waiting for their laundry. A while ago there were these 30 somethings, two geeks and a surfer dude. The geeks split an order of the fresh spring rolls and let that deliciousness sit on the table untouched. The surfer ordered an XL Pho (remember, Fuh, not Fow) in a bowl that could easily cup a beach ball. He'd just gotten back from a get-rich quick scheme in California where he'd acquired enough tiny giant redwood saplings to fill a volkswagen transport back to RI. He planted them in his mom's back yard. I hope he told her what they were. He said now he just had to wait until they grew so he could sell them for a profit, but he couldn't decide how long to wait because "like, man, the bigger they grow the more money I get. Dudes, the sky is the limit, man. They're like, my own federal reserve, but trees." How this was a get rich QUICK plan I do not know, but I had a hard time not piping in with "Your own federal natural reserve" or a real good "your mom's" joke. Then, last time I went, There were these three preppy college girls who ordered avocado bubble tea and pho (again. say Fuh. not Fow). Every so often they'd giggle and frantically trade seats with each other as if some inaudible music had stopped and they expected to be one chair short. They never were one chair short. Meanwhile, I overheard them give each other all sorts of good Asian dating advice. For instance, no one's mothers trust Chinese men. If you date one, be dead sure there is NO facebook evidence anywhere. None! Also, Asian men, you apparently need to watch out for all Japanese girls, as they will do anything to hoodwink you into getting married... not to mention the Korean girls who are all so SO pretty but belittle their boyfriends mercilessly, just for fun. I'm guessing these girls were Southeast Asian, because they were some sort of East Asian and I don't know what else is left... but I have a feeling they may just have been from Attleboro because they didn't know what Taro was, and also did NOT know that Pho is pronounced Fuh. NOT Fow.

My favorite Vietnamese restaurant in New England which serves super tasty and authentic Vietnamese food! My must-haves: Scallion Pancakes, Pho and Bubble Tea Scallion Pancakes: Skip the traditional spring roll and try this secret treat! The dough has a hint of sugar, slightly fried, and pairs SO well with their special dipping sauce. Its a generous appetizer that serves at least 2-3 people. Pho: Soup is always hot, noodles are soft with bite (not soggy or undercooked), and I love ordering it with sliced steak and meatballs. The sizes are S, L or XL. I also go for the L. Bubble tea: I love the fruity ones. Mango and passion fruit are delicious. Sometimes they are a little too sweet so they're perfect to drench down the hot spicy burning numbness from the pho. Pho horns doesn't disappoint. Staff is super friendly and always checks up on you. Stop by and get warmed up. Ambiance: Very simple with nothing spectacular but decor is certainly not the reason why I come here. ** They don't take AMEX so have your VISA/cash ready! **

I love this place! I always get the spicy quail appetizers with a small white rice and wonton soup. Asian comfort food it is!!! I cannot say how much I enjoy the food and service here. The spicy thai wings are delicious also and the pho is wonderful when your craving something hot! Try this place and you wont be disappointed.

Awesome, authentic vietnamese resteraunt located in a half vacant strip plaza set back off of rt 95. Kind of a weird spot but who cares. The food here is fresh, authentic and delicious. Let me just say that they got the best mofo pho in the area! I mainly come here just for the pho, cause their broth is so damn good. Add the fixens and forget about it!! Fresh cut chilis, basil, sprouts, and a lime wedge. Mix it all into the pho broth with the onion and cilantro, meat of choice and noodles. Its like heaven in a bowl...

This place was amazing, my sister and I went to get pho for the first time and we were excited. So excited in fact that the waiter joked around with us at how entranced we were. The portions are huge and filling, the staff was kind and the aroma was amazing. Needless to say we will definitely be back

Pretty good food. Nothing mind blowing. First time trying Pho, ever. Everyone is loving Pho and telling me this is the place to get it. It was okay, spicy salty shrimp was pretty darn good. I don't see myself craving Pho like I crave other asian soups and delicacies. Not necessarily Pho Horn's fault, just not my thing. I'll probably go back to try other things though and update my review.

Let's call me a fake Vietnamese food eater because I chose all the traditional food items off the menu... BBQ spare ribs, Mi Xao (aka Chicken Lo Mein) and General Tsao's Chicken. With that said, I don' think I can order asian delivery anywhere else now. The Mi Xao (like, I said, chicken lo mein) was A-MAZING. It was spicier than traditional lo mein but rich and flavorful and just plain drool-worthy. The ribs came with 4 for $6 which is a little pricey for what we got. When you get ribs on the bone, there isn't a whole lot of meat to be had. With that said, they were pretty good. They were seasoned a little thai style because they were quite peanutty. They were good, but not really what I wanted. The General Tsao's Chicken was excellent. It's not spicy like at other places, it actually kind of sweet. The sauce was delectable and we made sure to cover every bit of rice with it. Lunch specials are pretty small portions. I've uploaded a picture of the GT Chicken as an example. I guess you could say portions in general were pretty small because my Lo Mein also could have been a bit heftier. With that said, the food was delicious.... and they deliver!

Not only are the waiters adorable and nice here, did you see the fishtank!? I am going to find out if they have a name for it next time I go there, just because I love that fish so much. On the food note, I almost always need a seafood pho order. The broth is one of the best broths in the state, in my opinion. Pho is the chicken noodle soup that works better than chicken noodle soup for colds. Maybe it's because they take their time with the broth? This is actually one of my reliable business meeting places because of: A. Good Food B. Good Parking C. Great Service D. Outlets available for laptops/netbooks/chargers at some tables I am pretty sure I would lose my mind if they decided to offer free wi-fi.

I was really excited about the Pho. I ordered the traditional beef Pho. The broth was rather bland. I was not properly developed. Also, the "beef" appeared to be of the steak umm quality. The noodles were fine and I was impressed by the accompaniments that were provided. The prices were decent. My daughter had a catfish in a clay pot and she loved it. I just want to make a comment on the fish tank. That type of fish is called a Flower Horn. They are a man-made hybrid. They do not appear in nature. They are also quite aggressive.

It was a freezing night especially after our day at Newport and no matter how tempting Italian fare is in Providence, my heart longed for the comfort of Vietnamese pho. So our friend who lives in Pawtucket took us to Pho Horn's. Some books indicate that Pawtucket is pronounced Petooket and that it is the birthplace of the industrial revolution. Pho Horn's is bigger (and cleaner) than most of the Vietnamese restaurants in Queens and in Chinatown, New York (Bao of course is not in Chinatown and is in a different world altogether) and the service was fast and friendly, if not solicitous. The menu has a photo of a water buffalo on the cover which is also matched by the painting on the wall. We ordered lotus stem salad, whole fried striped bass, beef noodle soup and spring rolls. Although the serving size is small, the salad was fresh and not smothered in sauce, the fish was crispy and the beef noodle soup was tasty. I'd love to go back to Pho Horns.

As a new person to town, I am exploring everything that Rhode Island has to offer. I am so happy to find this little pho restaurant. It's not the best pho experience I had, but maybe the best in town. Thus I am rating this place 4 star. Décor - they provide a true Viet like experience. Nothing was new or bourgy but well maintain. They have a 65 inch LCD screen mounted to the wall and a large aquarium with a monster size fish swinging in it. Service - The service was awesome! They were on point providing everything I needed, I didn't need to ask for much. Water never came close of half full. Extremely friendly and polite, simply put, service was awesome! I started off with the shrimp spring rolls and had the (number 21) Tam Nam (XL) - Beef noodle Soup with slice steak and flank. I recommend this awesome spot to anyone and everyone! I can easily see myself coming back next week.

We went there for lunch. I ordered Tofu with ginger and scallion. And my friend had the chicken with ginger and scallion. They put so much onions and maybe one stalk of scallion on both dishes. They should not call it with scallion.

Actual visit 5/8/13. Mi Xao - stir-fried yellow noodles and chicken peppers onions broccoli green beans snow peas - Ok. Fried Said Gon Ravioli - dumplings with Chix, pork, veggies - these were the best. Probably would try someplace else the next time around.

For some unknown reason, I wound up one day at the old Shaw's parking lot... and there it was... Pho Horn's. I heard of the place but never actually looked for it. Its too bad that a nice restaurant has to exist in a forgotten strip mall, because the food was surprisingly good. Since that time, I have returned there about once a month since I live in the other end of the state. Everything I have tried has been good. The prices are OK, when you consider how much a burger costs these days.

Popped in for my first meal at Pho's recently and I wasn't disappointed. For someone that loves Thai, Japanese and Indian food normally when dining out, this was a great alternative place for eating Vegan.

Good food. I had meatball soup which is the typical Vietnamese mystery meatball and it was good. Fresh jalapenos and sprouts with it. It's Pho. Nothing overly dramatic about it but I am glad there is a Pho place nearby. We also had Scallion Pancakes which were very good. Iced coffee is kind of small for the price but it tasted good to me. Service was great on a Tuesday night. This place is in a kind of disreputable looking mall but there is plenty of parking and no problems as I saw them. I encourage you to try this if you like Pho.

Finally got around to going here this weekend and I was not disappointed. The Pho was delicious- the broth tasted of Chinese 5 Spice (yes, I know that Pho is Vietnamese) and was rich. The large bowl is big enough. Trust me. Even if you're really hungry. The noodles were good and the plate of super-fresh, crunchy bean sprouts, fresh basil and jalapenos was a wonderful addition. I tried my husband's sliced beef and actually preferred it to my meatballs. The meatballs had a different consistency than I'd expected. Instead of ground meat, they'd been made of meat paste. I know that doesn't sound good, but it was- just not what I was expecting. Speaking of paste... I had to order the Chao Tom- shrimp paste on sugarcane or, as Anthony Bourdain puts it- MEAT ON A STICK! It was delicious. Full flavored shrimp without being at all fishy. They'd aleady excised the shrimp from the sugarcane, but left a few pieces of the cane to be nibbled on as well. We were also treated to Goi Cuon - fresh summer rolls, similar to Nime Chow. We ordered the chicken ones and they were super fresh, crunchy and tasty- everything balanced. And then there was the peanut dipping sauce that, quite frankly, we could've eaten with a spoon. And lastly, if you go to their website, they usually have a coupon up there for a free appetizer. Ours was for the Cha Gio- crispy spring rolls. If you're expecting a similar taste to a Chinese spring roll, think again. These are made with pork and taro, veggies and rice noodles and fried golden brown. Delicious. Oh! And if it's a warm day and you want a delicious, refreshing drink? Order the fresh limeade. I chose the one with the sparkling soda- So Da Chanh and it was filled with bits of lime and so good. My only regret is that I had no room for a bubble tea! Can't wait to go again.

Pho is good here and the large bowl is big enough, but venture for the XL if you want! I used to go to Hon's but I think that has been taken over or something because the Pho there is no longer tasty. Whenever we want Pho, this is where we go, especially since they have the restaurant.com coupon, it makes our choices much more easier! I love ordering Bun Hoi here, the bbq beef with noodles, vegs and a wrap, you have to assemble it together to form something like Nim Chow and dip int he sauce provided. So good! The beef's flavor is very different and tasty. The Pho's broth is very good too, add in the hot sauce and hoisen sauce and we're good to go. We also love their Mi Cah Thang or Wide noodle stir fried with vegs and seafood. This is a bit drier than the Cambodian recipe but it's so good! The only weird thing is they garnish it with a slice of orange... I never understood that reason but I guess they thought it looked pretty? The bubble tea is also very good there, although the glass is quite small for the price.

Delicious and healthy food for a decent price. I ordered a small vegetarian pho and it was still huge! Can't go wrong with the price and quality here!

My first experience with Vietnamese and it was really good! I got a spicy lemongrass flank steak Pho with an iced coffee. My daughter loved her strawberry bubble tea my husband comes here all the time with his co workers but I will be joining him more often now !

I don't have anything snarky or funny to say about Pho Horn's. It can be very busy on the weekends but you can pho king wait a little bit, can't ya?

Shredded pulled chicken pho is the best and if you get a large you are guaranteed to take some home. Nothing bad to say about this place at all!

  • Jack C.

I never knew this place existed until I found it on Yelp, and I am so glad I did. I ordered the #21 and it was absolutely delicious. Service was friendly and prompt. Will definitely come back again!

Great pho'. The best I've had outside of San Diego. Love this place & the service is great. It is a "hole in the wall" in dirty Pawtucket but worth the trip.

  • Jacob W.

Really enjoyed the food and service! Thanks Jimmy ;-) we'll definitely be back!! We got the Pad Thai and Lemongrass Chicken and Bubble Tea. All great choices! The pho looks amazing. Will try that next time!!

Great pho. Odd little location in an odd little off the way strip mall but delicious pho, scallion pancake and dumplings. Good stuff. Go here for great pho! Since moving from Boston this is our go to place!

Best pho restaurant in Providence with generally excellent Vietnamese food. Bun Bo hue is tasty and so are the summer rolls. The staff is so friendly. The place is always busy. Try the limeade soda or the bubble tea.

Horn or Hon... that is the Pho-question!!! HORN ALL THE WAY! I come here atleast twice a month for Chicken Pho. Great waitstaff food is never disappointing and it's all for a great price. You can't really go wrong here.

  • Lauren L.

This is the place to go if you want the best pho in RI. The service is great, however, it does take a while for the food to come out so come here if you've got some time to spare.
