Usually go here to grab a quick 'Gansett at the bar with some wings or take out fish and chips on Friday.. This weekend went to PJs with a bunch of friends to have dinner and really had a great meal. I knew their calamari was good, but then for the first time we had an artichoke dip appetizer that was so wicked good we wanted more. That put us in a good mood and the rest of the meal was great too. Some had the fresh fish specials , some had pasta dishes and the meat lovers were happy too. The price was really reasonable , from drinks through the apps and the main meals, can't comment on the desserts because nobody had room for them. Service was prompt and friendly too.

had an excellent fish sandwich (comes fried or baked - I got the baked and it was a great low fat, satisfying option). Service was great and was a fun place for a large group.

We were in Narragansett a couple of weeks ago for a week's vacation - and we had NEVER been to PJ's Pub!! It's just around the corner from where we stay in the summertime. We were planning to go to Markos' but they had moved away :-( - Crazy Burger is just CRAZY busy - so we actually ended up at PJ's by default. WELL, we were so very pleasantly surprised with PJ's. It was my once a summer time to get fried clams, and these did not disappoint. Whole fat belly clams, deep fried in a light batter and served with homemade french fries (and something else, but I'm writing about the important stuff!!) were to die for. I was more than pleased with my dinner, and the wait staff was oh so efficient and friendly. Initially my clams arrived not as hot as I would like and I hailed down the waitress. She whisked them away and whisked back some piping hot fresh clams. THEN the owner's son/chef ambled over and apologized to me for the temperature of the first order. I was blown away. My hubby had fish and chips and he was very pleased as well. (He does't rave a lot, so if he doesn't complain I always assume it's good.) Convenient and delicious as PJ's was for us, we went back yet another night. This time I had linguine with white clam sauce. This delicious dish was packed with delicious perfectly cooked steamed clams on top of a heaping helping of linguine with yet more clams incorporated into the sauce. I ate every single bite on my plate (I was a piggy that week). My husband had a plain old burger with fries and a salad, and again, no complaints from this guy (so assume it was excellent!!). I am extremely happy with PJ;s Pub. It does what it does, well, and I have no complaints. I am only leaving off a star because of the first helping of room temperature clams. I really did like this place. I tend to get overzealous when I really like a place, and don't want to go overboard and tell you this is haute cuisine or gourmet gourmet. It is simply a fine pub, with better than pub food, good drinks, good service, and a really friendly vibe. I will definitely always go back there whenever I am in Narragansett for an extended period (like a week) and I might even give it five stars next time. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED - I don't think you can wrong at PJ's Pub. xxxxx

Wow, i just read some of the other reviews, apparently the restaurant service here has gotten much better, because I had a great experience there. I asked the waitress what they offered that was Gluten-Free and the manager approached me and said that they have GF pasta on hand as well as other items on the menu that I could have. My friends and I had a great and fondly remembered meal at PJ's Pub. My friends and I recently ate here at PJ's Pub on a trip to Narragansett, RI, if you happen to find yourself out that way, find the place . . . great food, great service, good atmosphere. Most restaurants I went to in the ten days I was in New England had nothing specific to offer me in the way of Gluten-Free. I was very pleased to find that they had/have Gluten-Free pasta on hand. I had a lovely dinner. My friends very much enjoyed thier fried oysters and fish & chips. ~AM

The trivia may be good, but the wait staff and management is rude and unappreciative of your business. Apparently if you're a large group of regulars, you're too much "trouble" for them, and get snubbed and told off. If you want a place that has some consideration for their customers, look elsewhere. After nine months of coming by almost every week, I'll admit that I' disappointed that I no longer feel comfortable going here.

My mom ordered a salad with eggplant and sent it back, it was not at all what the menu promised. The eggplant had been deep fried, heavily battered in corn meal and burnt. The bartender agreed it looked awful and brought it into the kitchen to have it fixed. The bartender returned embarrassed with the same salad with twice as much of the burnt eggplant on top. She suggested my mom order a different item from the menu. My mom chose the Cobb Salad, and the bartender returned empty handed. She told my Mom the CHEF refused to make her anything else. My father asked who was cooking...and was so disappointed to hear THE OWNER Pete.

Went recently & used a Restaurant.com coupon.....it was a sad, sad experience. I will not be returning to PJ's, nor will I be sending ANYONE their way ever, ever again. When they first started selling the discounted coupons they had no restrictions in place. I bought 1 just to have it on hand for when I wanted to take myself out, go it probably in early December 2011. Well, then they smartened up I guess & put a restriction on any further discounted coupons bought from the Restaurant.com site that said "not to be used towards alcohol" ...blah, blah, something like that. So the coupon I had bought back in Dec. 2011 DID NOT SAY THAT ON IT! You with me so far on this fantastic voyage????? Met up with a friend at the bar , he had never been there before. I get there & he proceeds to tell me that he didn't get a very welcoming / happy vibe when he entered the place. His words "I felt I was being looked at like I was 20 again, trying to get served at the cool place", he is 34, he does not look 20. I sit & the bartender was finishing up talking to the guy next to my friend about golf....I hate golf, it was on the TV & they were talking about it, now I am in golf overload & definitely in desperate need of a drink! I am finally asked what I would like after they compare club sizes etc...and I say I would like a Margarita made with "preferably anything BUT Jose Cuervo"...wanna guess what my drink was made with? Shitty bartender wanted to talk more golf instead of making a decent drink & LISTENING to the customer's wants & needs. What ever, I drank it anyhow as I listened to more golf chatter....wait, I can't even call it chatter, because I remember this bartender being LOUD. The place was not busy, no need to shout buddy! Or swear, which he did plenty of that too. Don't get me wrong, I have a mouth like a sailor...just not in front of customers though dude!!!! We did order food & was presented with exactly what we ordered, I had Greek calamari & friend had a seafood lasagna. Both were very good. I am more upset with the service & how this bartender acted...like a spazoid once it came time for the bill. He proceeded to inform us that we could not use the Restaurant.com gift certificate because we had ordered alcohol, I asked where it said that on the gift certificate, he had no answer for me at all. Went to find his manger & took forever to finally tell us that we could use it but then proceeded to treat us like 2nd class citizens for the remainder of our time there. I cannot even begin to tell you how many times I have been here & had fine service, or how many people I personally send (oppssss, I mean sent, because I will never send another person there again) here through out the summer. I work VERY close to here & after the way I was treated the last time, I know for certain it will be the last time. They went up on their prices last summer & I tried to over look that. At least if you plan on upping everything by at least a dollar or two, make sure you have PROFESSIONAL staff members to carry out the food & be the face for your business & make DAMN sure that they have EXCELLENT customer service skills! This bartender was none of that.... Let me remind you that in peak summer this establishment being on Boon St. in Narragansett , I know that they will have no trouble at all getting customers. What do you plan to do when the tourist are gone PJ's? I am a local, and you just lost my business. I have told other locals that I know of my last experience at PJ's and they were not surprised. Change your ways PJ's, and change em' quick...... NOTE: The last time that I reviewed this establishment was in 4/2010... obviously they have gone down hill since then....

Always have a fantastic experience at PJs, we go once a week and I always get one of the specials so I am always looking forward to a new and creative dish. The service and atmosphere is wonderful. The manager, Nicole, handles anything that comes up with professionalism and ease. Tonight there was an unruly customer, and the waitstaff and manager remained calm and professional during the customers rude and uncalled for behavior. Our meals were terrific , as usual. Proud to call this our favorite spot in town

Awesome food, consistent. Pizza's are delish. Just keep an eye out for "Mo" the bartender. She's a miserable woman!

Ordered a medium rare to rare take out hamburger with sweet french fries yesterday. The bartender warned me that he didn't run the kitchen which should have been my first clue. Unfortunately I didn't check the order before I took it out or I would have returned it. The hamburger was well done to the point that I didn't actually finish eating it and the sweet fries were on the soft side. I've had decent take outs before and may give PJ another chance in a month or two when I mellow, but if they repeat - - I'm outta here!

My wife & I were there 9/29/13-10/2/13 and had the opportunity to eat here 2 times. Our service/food/atmosphere was great. Can't see any one writing a bad review about Pj's pub. Food was very good, and you were eating off a real plate, no styrofoam or plastic. 2 thumbs up from my wife & myself. Kurt.

We were looking for an alternative to all of the fried food served at most places in the area and felt like a drink, so Crazy Burger was out. Yelp brought us here. A 3.5 average is about right. There wasn't anything special enough for me to give it four stars. The inside was nice with a large bar and plenty of tables and booths. Service was polite, friendly and attentive. The menu was a good size and looked to have something for everyone. A pizza and a pasta dish went by our table and they looked and smelled great. We started with the Greek Isle mussels and they were great. The ouzo added a nice flavor. I highly recommend these. I could have eaten a few plates of them. For an entree I ordered the citrus scallops. It came with rice and broccoli, which were ok, but nothing special. I received a generous portion of scallops. They were cooked well, but the sauce was a bit too sweet for me, but that's a personal preference. Others might like it. My husband ordered the salmon and he thought it was OK. I would visit again if I were in the area, but would probably order something other than the scallops.

For me, I think PJ's Pub was a solid 3 stars. There was really nothing off or bad about my experience and I thought it was good but not quite as good as other restaurants I've tried and given 4 stars. I must say that two things stood out. First our Greek Isle Mussels (olive oil' garlic, ouzo, parsley), was the best dish and I would get that again easily. Second, our waitress was attentive and efficient. I also liked my main dish, the Salmon Joanne, grilled and topped with a cucumber and lemon dill sauce. The sauce was quite tasty, however, I was hoping for a larger cut of salmon. It was wild salmon so that may explain the seemingly smaller cut. If in the area again, I would return to try another dish.

The old menu was much, much better than the new menu. They took a lot of great items off the menu, and this is where they went wrong. It's too bad. They used to have great salads and pizza too. The best salad from the old menu is gone now and the pizza recipe has changed ... And not for the better. Pizza is now borderline inedible. The only new items on the menu worth eating are the lettuce wraps, but they're not worth the loss of so many of the other great menu items that they used to have. PJ's used to be a good go-to place for some quick, quality pub style food and pizza. But with so many other great eateries in the area, unfortunately I'm going to have to eighty-six PJ's from my dining rotation, as we say in the restaurant biz.

Dear Yelpers of Pjs, please stop reviewing this establishment based on restaurant.com coupons. Everyone knows those coupons are terrible. Just stop. Now for my review. Pj's has a unique place in my foodie heart. In the dead of the winter where all I want is pure comfort food, good service, a glass a wine and a good time, Pj's comes through. I have stuck with the lasagna for a while and enjoy the huge amount of sauce that accompanies it (the portion is entirely too huge for myself, but leftovers are great). The place is always super clean and I always leave satisfied. I have to admit that in the summer when I'm trying to fit into my bikini, you might not find me throwing back a huge piece of lasagna. But when its 10 degrees out, Pj's meets my needs.

PJ's is one of our favorite restaurants in South County-- I had Flounder their last summer as one of their specials and it was awesome. The staff is great, I just wish Toma was still there, she was one of the best waitress's we've ever had.

I am a bit torn about PJ's Pub. The service is good. The staff are nice and the atmosphere is calm and welcoming. My issue is the food. There are dishes that are very heavy, like spanakopita or a calzone, but you know that a dish like this is going to be heavy. What you don't expect is a salmon dish with broccoli to make you fill as full as spanakopita. I have been to this place twice and I keep wondering what goes into the food because there seems to be a "heaviness" to the food and a lack of seasoning; by far the most bland spanakopita I have had, which is strange because spanakopita doesn't require a lot of ingredients to make right. The food just seems average in taste. The food doesn't suck or isn't amazing. The food isn't that worthy of talking about. If you need a drink and a place to hangout for an hour then this is not that bad of a place. If you want a drink, food, and a place to hangout with friends then there are far better places.

It seems like negative reviews on this place are predominately ones that have to do with a Restaurant.com coupon. I know a lot of other restaurants have had issues with the coupons, and it's not specific to this restaurant. Nor do I feel should food or service be judged on a coupon. I've always had a pleasant experience here. Restaurant is always kept very clean, which is hugely important!

PJ's Pub is true to it's name in offering a pub like atmosphere. The environment is welcoming and relaxed. There is formal seating as well as a bar area with high tables so you have a choice of a dining modes. Pete (the owner) did a nice job of renovating the old Terminisi's for those remembering spots from URI days past. The food is very good and well priced providing good value for the money. I particularly like PJ's because they tend to offer a nice selection of fish dishes along with other fare. Particularly like the Greek Calamari as an appetizer. Good balance for many palettes. Good selection of beers on tap and wines. Staff has always been friendly. I was surprised to see PJ's wasn't highlighted on Yelp! so thought I'd start an entry. Check it out and please add your thoughts. Hope your experience is good.

I enjoyed PJ's. This place is a bar/restaurant/sandwich joint. You get get anything from subs to sit down meals. It's a wonderful place to take the family for an informal meal. A lot of the locals come here and you can get a good portion for a great price. It's not fancy, but it's good eats.

A gem of a restaurant. Great upbeat atmosphere, super friendly and knowledgeable staff. Hamburger's are one of the best and all fish dinner's are delicious. The daily special's are very creative and always delicious. And the pizza's are great. One of my favorite restaurants in Narragansett.

I live a home right around the corner from PJ's, It's okay if you want to stop in for a beer. Not a huge fan of eating there. I think the food is average, at best, and it's a little pricey for a pub. Not many choices in the "hood" so I'm happy to have them there but I do get the feeling they are a little full of themselves. They could do a better job of making it a warm friendly place where everybody knows your name.

Last night we ate at PJ's and I am sad to report that this visit was our LAST! We have eaten here 3 times in the past 6 months and each time we left saying that the food was barely average. Each time we went here, we attempted to use a Restaurant.com coupon and each time PJ's would not honor it. (Full d/c: One of these times was our fault for not reading the "fine print.") The restrictions are endless and we would urge anyone contemplating purchasing a coupon to exercise caution! Last night was the final straw because, in spite of that fact that we gave the coupon to the server BEFORE we ordered, when it came time to pay the bill once again we were told that the coupon was no good. This time the excuse was that the coupon had been used before--which is absolutely, positively untrue. When we asked the manager why we were permitted to order after the coupon had been apparently called in, we were given a lame apology by a lazy manager who was more interested in clearing off tables at a half empty restaurant than dealing with us. The only reason why we have been here 3 times was because we simply wanted to burn the coupon up! As far as our food goes, stay home and cook yourself. The Asian salmon special was $18.99 and the salmon was mediocre and the portion was probably 5 ounces. The rabe was cold and limp. The Chicken Cobb salad was acceptable--but again this dish could have easily been prepared at home. The ingredients were minimal--perhaps 3 halved cherry tomatoes, maybe a couple ounces of chicken, barely a slice of bacon, and you'll need a microscope to find the bleu cheese that the menu claims is contained in the salad! A total rip off for $11.99! Each time we have eaten here we've left saying that the food was just "so-so" and certainly not worth the money. The bar is nice and ample, but our experiences at this bar is that it is understaffed. Typically one bartender on duty servicing an entire restaurant doesn't make for happy diners. The bartenders, however, have always been pleasant. Bottom line: The manager--who was probably 22 years old--had zero tolerance for solving our problem. We had a coupon, were aware of the restrictions, presented the coupon BEFORE we ordered, and again, the coupon was no good. Management should have accepted this coupon if they wanted to keep our business--and he decided we were not worth the trouble. Narragansett has plenty of great restaurants and PJ's is not one of them. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR YOUR MONEY!!!!
