The food is great here, it is the way it is ran which makes me give it a one star. I actually love Walt's roast beef, but this one doesn't offer the beast, well they do but what they do is double charge you for one sandwich without first informing you which is an absolute ripoff. I try to avoid the reservoir ave one like the plague, but recently I went there, and was charged a 75 cent fee for using my debit card. It was listed on a small label on the door.... Either way this is absurd. Eat Walt's Roast Beef just avoid this one! PERSONALLY a.k.a. in my OWN opinion not being informed that you are going to be double charged for a sandwich or having an additional fee added to your order effects the dining experience. I suppose we all should put a disclaimer on all of our reviews just to remind the general miserable public that they are just personal opinions.

Walt"s is very hit or miss. This one and the one near the airport are very consistent. Consistently AWESOME!!! The sandwiches are always good, Chris R nailed it in his review. Is it me or do they close a little too early? The only word of advice- avoid the one on Bald Hill Rd. Always BAD.

Hidden gems through out Rhode Island that go by the name of Walts roast beef. Soo good they need more of them. America would benefit if this chain replaced all the mcds, bks, and Wendy's. I mean French fries are still bad for you but roast beef with pickle onion lettuce on a wheat roll can't be beat. Very healthy/better off than other fast food places I would imagine? There business model could use an over haul. All the locations seemed to be managed a little differently. Fish and chips are good/ fried. Thanks for the quality; filling food Walt!

Slow service considering the place was empty, no flavor in the beef and the wrap tasted like dough all these 5 star reviews baffle me by virtue of the type of place it is knocks a star off

So the roast beef is pretty good. You won't find anything better in the area if your looking for a roast beef sandwich. But the prices are definitely on the high side. I work near the beef barn in North Smithfield and they have better roast beef sandwiches and cheaper. So for those who say it is what it is or roast beef is expensive. It does not have to be this expensive and for that reason I usually skip going to Walt's. which is too bad because I do enjoy a good roast beef sandwich from time to time. But thankfully I work close to the Beef Barn!

Beat roast beef sandwich around! Decor isn't the best but I go places for good food for lunch not decor. Yummy!

I've been eating Walt's for as long as I can remember and I'm stunned at some of the reviews for this place. Let me break it down for you: a restaurant that is older and that has been around forever always has the best food. Take NY System for example on Olneyville...their grills can't possibly get any older but you know what? That's the secret for one awesome meal, my friend. So what if Walt's looks like a blast from the past and looks a bit worn? The food is what matters! And another thing, unless you're ordering a wimpy little junior sandwich, you won't find a big heap of juicy, fresh roast beef unless you order a King Walt or a Deluxe Walt. That's where it's at people. You gotta get 'em big and loaded if you want the real deal. I had me one of those badboys yesterday and let me tell you, I wouldn't have it any other way. Big handful of roast beef, mayo, lettuce, tomato, and a fresh sesame bun. If you want pickles they come in a mini-me version of a ziplock bag and their pickles are as fresh as it gets. When it comes to Walt's they know what fresh is. The fries are great too. The prices? Yeah a little pricey but as someone else already pointed out: roast beef is expensive! Go to any deli and see if you can get roast beef for cheap. It ain't happening. You want good quality, all fresh roast beef then be willing to pay a few bucks. Your mouth and tummy will thank you later trust me. Forget Arby's. Walt's is where it's at!

One star? Seriously? One star? Dude, were you high when you wrote that review? Three at least. More if the place gets updated. It is a little worn. But the food is crisp and clean and tasty. Service was fast and with a smile. Prices are what they are. You don't like it, eat somewhere else. But don't give them one star because you are bitched out at the cost of doing business. That just does not seem fair. Walt's is another Rhode Island curiousity. Like Arby's before there was Arby's and before McDonald's franchising. There are a few locations in RI and sure, some are a bit rundown, but this one was clean and good. I love a good freshly shaved roast beef sandwich on a toasted hamburger bun with american cheese and bbq sauce. Add a small fries and a soda (diet - yes, I get the irony) and damn, you have yourself a lunchtime treat.

I've been to this location as well as the one in N.K. and it's been just ok. Last time I ate at the Resevoir Ave. location, the roast beef was overly dried out and tasteless. The service was also very bad. Fries are ok but the portion was pretty small. It's definitely not a place I will rush back to any time soon.

The food is usually good if not great but today I went to the one on Reservoir Ave and felt I needed to write this. The meat was dry and there was very little in the sandwiches. Fried are good but could use a few more. The place really NEEDS to be updated, it is old, dingy looking and feels dirty. The worst though was listening to the help argue with each other during my lunch. I heard other guests complaining about it as well. The prices are way too high, especially given everything else I wrote. two reg sandwiches, small fry and a med soda - $12.33 - thats too much I probably will not return. Millers Roast beef in East Prov and Attleboro is much better.

I had never had Walt's so we stopped in. It had a very old feel to it, and not in a good way. My husband ordered one for me and 2 for him, and 2 large fries. I am not a big girl but their large is personal size, another places' small. Portion size here is healthy, but a huge rip off. When my husband said they were expensive at $5 a sandwich I said you get what you pay for, roast beef is expensive, it's probably good meat.. Then I saw what he meant, I opened my sandwich to find a hamburger bun with a tiny bit of meat on it. Needless to say we will probably not return to Walt's, it tasted ok but seriously needed about twice as much meat to justify the price and fill you up.
